Jones has struggled considerably this season, and despite being under contract through 2027, Matt Goncalves doesn't believe he should have any meaningful role in the Colts' long-term plans; Indianapolis needs to find a younger quarterback capable of becoming a legitimate franchise player, and continuing to invest in Jones would only delay that process; Goncalves would be surprised if he remains with the organization beyond the next couple of seasons.
