Steichen sticking with Jones despite 2-6 record and Jones's 9-11 start record

Shane Steichen announced he is sticking with Daniel Jones as the Indianapolis Colts' starting quarterback despite a 42-7 loss to Jacksonville and a 2-6 record. Steichen justified the decision citing Jones's preparation and command of the offense, but the Colts have lost 13 of their last 15 games dating back to 2025, and Jones has lost nine of his last 11 starts. Daniel Jones argues Jones is getting pulverized, struggling to push the football downfield, and repeatedly putting the defense in short fields with too many turnovers.
