Downs is a difficult player to include here because I genuinely believe he could be a very good No. 3 receiver operating primarily from the slot on a competitive team. At 28 in 2029, he should still be in his prime... However, his rookie contract expires after this season, and with reports that he has requested a trade, I have a difficult time envisioning him remaining in Indianapolis for another three years.

Downs' trade request makes his Colts future unlikely despite slot receiver upside.

Downs is a difficult player to evaluate because Matt Goncalves genuinely believes he could be a very good No. 3 receiver operating primarily from the slot on a competitive team; at 28 in 2029, he should still be in his prime and could provide valuable production alongside a stronger receiving corps; however, his rookie contract expires after this season, and with reports that he has requested a trade, Goncalves has a difficult time envisioning him remaining in Indianapolis for another three years; his potential departure would have more to do with the circumstances surrounding the organization than any lack of ability.
