Jones keeps starting role after 42-7 loss; coach cites team execution issues

Jones will remain the Colts starter for Week 9 against the Cowboys despite a 42-7 loss to Jacksonville where he completed 19 of 28 passes for 144 yards with two interceptions. Head coach Shane Steichen acknowledged Jones could improve but stated 'Daniel gives us the best chance to win right now,' suggesting the loss was not solely attributable to quarterback play; Steichen emphasized that blocking, protections, route discipline, and team execution all contributed to the defeat.
