JJ McCarthy is playing great football.

McCarthy has improved dramatically over five quarters: yards per attempt rising from 6.7 to 10.1 and QBR jumping from 35.6 to 60.5—nearly twice as efficient. Giants offense ranked 5th most efficient in football in weeks 5-8 (though three-game sample size caveat applies). Eagles have not looked good and have been pulverized by NFC East opponents over the last two weeks, creating a favorable matchup. However, Hartitz cautions the sample size is small and the true level may be somewhere between his recent peak and earlier performance. Eagles' run game issues mean they'll keep Saquon Barkley very involved if healthy, and Jameis Winston enters for goal-line tush pushes inside the 5-yard line, reducing McCarthy's passing TD opportunities.
