A.J. Brown

NegativeUsage32:05

Expected passing volume to A.J. Brown is a consideration in Sam Darnold's QB ranking; the source notes it would be cooler if the Falcons added another wide receiver at the trade deadline, suggesting current receiving depth is a constraint on volume.

Insight page

Anthony Richardson

NegativeDepth Chart33:54

Got his first action of the season last week for the Colts, suggesting potential depth chart movement. Ian Hartitz notes it's unclear if the change from Daniel Jones to Richardson would improve the situation, though it can't get much worse.

Insight page

Baker Mayfield

NegativeProjection11:50

Mayfield is a viable streaming option in Week 9 against the Bears despite playing for a bad offense, with a good matchup alongside Justin Herbert and Tanner McKee. However, Ian Hartitz ranks him QB27 and expresses skepticism about the Buccaneers' run-heavy approach: Mayfield has thrown only 14 passes over the last two weeks while Tampa Bay blew out the Panthers and Falcons by a combined 59-13, rushing for only 15 total yards in that span. Hartitz wants to see evidence that Mayfield can throw 20+ passes in a game before moving him up the rankings. For Week 11 against the Lions, Hartitz identifies Mayfield as a preferred streaming option, assuming Tampa Bay runs a 21st-century offense by that point.

Insight page

Bo Nix

NegativeMatchup32:40

Ranked QB19 against the Panthers this week. Nix is winning games and showed clutch execution (screen pass to Jonah Coleman), with schedule clearing up after bye. However, rushing production remains a concern: a 62-yard TD run accounts for more yards than his other 31 carries combined (52 yards total), and he's not lighting up passing efficiency either, making him tough to trust even in winnable matchups despite playmakers around him.

Insight page

Brian Thomas Jr.

NegativeUsage32:10

Brian Thomas Jr. is mentioned as a potential trade deadline acquisition that would improve the Falcons' offensive weapons alongside Jonathan Taylor, suggesting current roster construction limits receiving options.

Insight page

Brock Purdy

PositiveProjection3:25

QB3 for Week 9 coming off bye against Las Vegas Raiders; Raiders have allowed 30+ points in five straight weeks (NFL record is six straight); well-rested 49ers expected to tie or break the record. Purdy in early MVP conversations. Offense looked mortal before bye with banged-up wide receiver room, would be better with healthy Mike Evans and Debo Samuel. Positioned in optimal game environment tier with both good offense and good matchup.

Insight page

Bryce Young

NegativeProjection24:07

Panthers offense dropped from 9th EPA per play in weeks 1-4 to 22nd in weeks 5-8; Bryce Young hasn't gotten the deep ball going, with completion rate on 20+ yard passes falling from 55% (11 of 20) in weeks 1-4 to 43% (3 of 7) in weeks 5-8. Offensive line issues—highest paid in 2026 but allowed highest pressure rate weeks 1-4 before injuries compounded problems—limit Young's upside even in favorable matchups.

Insight page

C.J. Stroud

NegativeRole14:54

C.J. Stroud is playing great football with career-best marks across the board and ranked QB13 against the Chargers, continuing to rekindle college chemistry with receivers. However, weapon concerns are mounting heading into Week 9: Nico Collins is out; Tank Dell recently returned but remains unproven at 30-40 snap volume; Jaylen Noel (turf toe) joins Jaden Higgins on IR. Ian Hartitz worries Xavier Hutchinson will be the number two receiver, with too much reliance on Dalton Schultz and a run game that cannot execute. Chargers defense has been strong.

Insight page

Caleb Williams

NegativeProjection6:48

QB8 ranking against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a prime-time game. Ian Hartitz highlights incredible year-two improvement from rookie season: completion rate jumped from 58% to 70.9%, and sack rate dramatically reduced. Among 67 quarterbacks with 100+ dropbacks over past two years, Williams owns both the third-worst completion percentage season (last year) and third-best (this year); Hartitz compares his completion rate improvement trajectory to Patrick Mahomes. Concern: only 118 rushing yards and 3 rushing touchdowns since returning from hamstring injury. Buccaneers defense is tough (only Vikings better in EPA allowed per play), but Hartitz believes Ben Johnson's offense can score 30 on anyone. This is not exactly a slam-dunk spot.

Insight page

Dak Prescott

NegativeProjection5:14

QB7 ranking against the Colts. Ian Hartitz expresses low confidence, stating "I can accept. I don't love it." The Cowboys offense has been mediocre in three of the last four games (exception: Eagles, who were already checked out). Three worst offensive performances of the season came in the last four weeks, including a disgraceful showing against the Cardinals with four sacks and season-low rushing yards before contact. Cowboys are among the five worst offenses in improvement metrics (weeks 5-8). Hartitz expects Dak to get back on track this week but questions sustainability. However, positioned in optimal game environment tier with both good offense and good matchup, and Hartitz notes this is a matchup Prescott should hopefully be able to shred.

Insight page

Daniel Jones

NegativeProjection32:27

Ranked QB25 against the Cowboys this week. Ian Hartitz doesn't want to start him and advises fantasy players against it, citing concerns that the Cowboys' historically bad defense could lead to his benching—a scenario that happened to Jacoby Brissett last week when he was benched despite playing well enough in the first 40 minutes.

Insight page

Deebo Samuel

NegativeInjury23:28

49ers offense fell from 1st EPA per play in weeks 1-4 to 19th in weeks 5-8; a healthy version of Deebo Samuel coming out of the bye would help the offense, though losing a game in the sample and playing the Seahawks also contributed to the drop-off.

Insight page

Deshaun Watson

NegativeProjection24:32

Ranked QB18 despite 300+ yard efforts in back-to-back games—a feat he never achieved in 25 starts with Cleveland. Sack rate is the limiting factor: only Baker Mayfield and Jameis Winston have worse pressure-to-sack conversion rates; Watson is one of only two QBs to take 8+ sacks in a single game this season (both times Watson). Saints pass rush ranks dead last in pressure rate, but Browns' offensive line also struggles, negating the matchup advantage. However, he's Ian Hartitz's second-best streaming option for Week 9 if Malik Willis is unavailable.

Insight page

Drake London

NegativeRole32:40

If DJ Turner is healthy enough to lock up coverage, Drake London could be negatively impacted as a receiving option, with the Falcons potentially not seeing a clear number two receiver emerge in the offense.

Insight page

Gardner Minshew

NegativeProjection37:24

Ian Hartitz ranks Minshew QB28 against the Seahawks. Minshew delivered a strong performance coming back against the Cowboys, but he faces a brutal three-week stretch against the Seahawks, Rams, and Chiefs, after which Hartitz expects Carson Beck to take over as the Falcons starter.

Insight page

Geno Smith

NegativeProjection20:16

Ian Hartitz ranks Gino Smith QB17 against the Chiefs. Smith is playing strong football with clean pockets afforded by the third-longest average time to pressure in the NFL; he completed six passes of at least 20 yards downfield last week, tied with Jordan Love for the season high, and also has five such completions in the Lions game. He has weapons across the board (Gary Wilson, AD Mitchell, Omar Cooper, Mason Taylor, Kenny Sadik, returning Bree Hall). The concern is the matchup against Steve Spagnuolo's Chiefs secondary at home, which could fluster him, though last year's struggles appear to be in the rearview mirror. For Week 10, Smith against the Bills is Hartitz's sneaky shootout option for quarterbacks available in 60% or more of Yahoo Leagues.

Insight page

J.J. McCarthy

PositiveProjection23:10

Ian Hartitz ranks JJ McCarthy as QB2 coming off the bye against the Philadelphia Eagles. McCarthy has improved dramatically over five quarters: yards per attempt rising from 6.7 to 10.1 and QBR jumping from 35.6 to 60.5—nearly twice as efficient. Giants offense ranked 5th most efficient in football in weeks 5-8 (though three-game sample size caveat applies). Eagles have not looked good and have been pulverized by NFC East opponents over the last two weeks, creating a favorable matchup. However, Hartitz cautions the sample size is small and the true level may be somewhere between his recent peak and earlier performance. Eagles' run game issues mean they'll keep Saquon Barkley very involved if healthy, and Jameis Winston enters for goal-line tush pushes inside the 5-yard line, reducing McCarthy's passing TD opportunities.

Insight page

Jared Goff

PositiveProjection3:55

QB5 for Week 9 against Dolphins; last outdoor game for Lions until week 17 with favorable weather expected; Dolphins are one of worst pass defenses in football. Goff averaging career-high 20.3 fantasy points per game and 280 passing yards per game with Lions; strong upside with full offensive weapons (Jameson Williams, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Sam LaPorta, David Montgomery/Gibbs) clicking. Positioned in optimal game environment tier with both good offense and good matchup.

Insight page

Jayden Daniels

NegativeProjection9:08

Ian Hartitz ranks Daniels QB10 against the Rams but expresses significant concern about his Week 9 outlook. While Daniels posted 32 and 21 fantasy points before the bye, he scored just 15 against the Eagles with a messy performance including pre-snap penalties and missed throws to Ocho Cinco on potential touchdowns. With Terry McLaughlin out and the Rams defense getting healthier (Trent McDuffie back, Miles Garrett potentially returning), Hartitz worries the Commanders offense could sputter. Daniels' rushing has also declined sharply: 100+ yards and 2 TDs against the Giants in his first game, but only 10 and 23 scoreless yards in two games since. Hartitz calls him a rushing cheat code but fears an ugly performance without high-end weaponry.

Insight page

Joe Burrow

PositiveProjection4:16

QB4 for Week 9 against Falcons defense in early morning Sunday matchup; since declaring the 2-2 start wasn't Armageddon, Burrow has been lights out with 944 passing yards and 13 touchdowns; now QB2 in fantasy points per game. Ian Hartitz's ranking feels low and could justify QB2 consideration.

Insight page

Joe Flacco

NegativeProjection39:34

Ian Hartitz ranks Flacco QB30 against the Jaguars. Flacco is now probably starting for the Ravens. The Ravens rank among only three teams (with Jaguars and Bills) averaging 7+ yards per attempt on passes behind the line of scrimmage, a sign of effective play-calling. However, Hartitz is dubious about whether this scheme advantage will translate to fantasy production against Jacksonville.

Insight page

Jonathan Taylor

NegativeUsage32:10

Jonathan Taylor is mentioned as a potential trade deadline acquisition that would improve the Falcons' offensive weapons alongside Brian Thomas Jr., suggesting current roster construction limits receiving options.

Insight page

Jordan Love

PositiveProjection8:21

QB9 ranking against the Patriots. Love leads the NFL in pass attempts (37 this year) and is the only quarterback with at least 25 yards downfield; Josh Allen is next at 25. He's accumulated at least two touchdowns (passing or rushing) in every single game this season and is on pace for 4,774 passing yards and 36 total touchdowns. Packers are number one in dropback rate over expected, and Love is throwing the ball at an elite rate despite the team's weak run game.

Insight page

Josh Allen

PositiveProjection0:30

QB1 for Week 9 despite tough matchup against Vikings; only 2019 Lamar Jackson has averaged more fantasy points per game than Josh Allen's 2026 pace. Projected to score closer to 20 than 30 fantasy points this week but remains elite. Allen also leads the NFL in yards downfield (25) after Jordan Love's 37, demonstrating elite downfield passing volume.

Insight page

Justin Herbert

NegativeProjection36:54

Ian Hartitz ranks Herbert QB29. Herbert has compiled a 72-clip lowlight reel of interceptions this year. While offensive line injuries and receiver issues are real, Herbert has 8–9 picks this season where he's throwing directly to defenders in clean pockets. In EPA per play, he ranks 224th out of 227 QB seasons since 2020; only 2023 Zack Wilson, 2024 Deshaun Watson, and 2025 Shador Sanders have worse individual seasons. This is one of the worst QB seasons since Herbert entered the league.

Insight page

Kirk Cousins

NegativeProjection13:45

Ian Hartitz ranks Kirk Cousins as QB12 for Week 9 against the 49ers. Cousins is playing his best football since the 2022-2023 seasons under Kevin O'Connell's coaching, posting QB7-QB8 fantasy points per game. Hartitz notes Cousins has regained his swagger and is executing efficiently between snap and throw, consistently targeting Brock Bowers. However, Hartitz expresses concern about the 49ers defense becoming a wrecking ball down the stretch with Nick Bosa returning from calf injury and Forest Buckner on the defensive line; the Raiders offensive line (Tyler Lindsey has not solved problems) could get overwhelmed by a well-rested 49ers defense on the road.

Insight page

Kyler Murray

NegativeProjection29:52

QB22 ranking against the Bills on Monday Night Football despite a favorable matchup (Bills ranked 29th in EPA per dropback). Ian Hartitz emphasizes Murray is playing the worst football of his career by any metric—EPA per dropback, success rate, pass rating—and is barely outperforming JJ McCarthy's 2023 Minnesota season (Murray ranks 59th in EPA per dropback this season vs. McCarthy's 61st last year). The performance is worse than his Arizona tenure, and Hartitz questions Kevin O'Connell's coaching fit, suggesting O'Connell may be a 'Kurt Cousins merchant' whose success came from garbage time and Justin Jefferson's individual performance.

Insight page

Lamar Jackson

NegativeProjection12:00

Ravens offense has dropped from 5th EPA per play in weeks 1-4 to 29th in weeks 5-8, a massive efficiency decline that makes sense given Lamar Jackson's role in the offense. The regression is significant enough that if you have Lamar Jackson or a bye coming up, Ian Hartitz suggests considering Caleb Williams (who has a Week 10 bye) as a guy to stash on the bench as a backup option.

Insight page

Malik Willis

PositiveSleeper11:50

Ian Hartitz identifies Malik Willis as his preferred streamer for Week 9 against the Lions, standing out among bad offense/good matchup tier options. Willis had a rough start with 25 combined fantasy points in weeks 2–4, but has improved significantly: 18.9, 26, and 14.6 fantasy points in his last three games, throwing for 200+ yards and two touchdowns last week despite limited rushing production. The Dolphins offense ranks top-10 in EPA per play since week 5 (6th in EPA per drop back, 11th in EPA per rush), and the schedule stays pretty nice for the next month. Lions defense has allowed nearly five additional fantasy points per game to opposing QBs—worst in the league—though they're getting healthier with Brian Branch and Jack Campbell banged up. Willis deserves upside QB2 consideration for the next four-week stretch (Lions, Colts, Bills, Jets) before the schedule toughens; he's also the top streamer for Week 10 against the Colts and Week 11 against the Bills.

Insight page

Matthew Stafford

PositiveProjection15:55

Ian Hartitz ranks Stafford QB14 against the Commanders. The reigning MVP posted 317+ passing yards in four straight games (weeks 2–5) and three passing touchdowns from week 7 onward, but has completed only one pass of 20+ yards downfield since week 4 (excluding a wheel route to Kyren Williams). Without Devonte Adams, the Rams' efficient rushing attack (Kyren Williams and Blake Corum both rushing efficiently) has reduced Stafford's workload; his 7.3 yard average target depth this season is down from 9.0 last season—the highest decline of any QB not named Marcus Mariota. Expected passing touchdown rate has declined accordingly, and Washington ranks 25th in EPA per play, limiting boom potential despite the matchup.

Insight page

Michael Penix Jr.

NegativeProjection32:12

QB24 ranking against the Bengals. Ian Hartitz describes the weekend performance as historically bad in adjusted yards per attempt (accounting for sacks, touchdowns, interceptions)—the worst single-game mark since 2019 Sam Darnold's 'seeing ghosts' game, with four interceptions thrown directly to defenders. However, Penix threw for 200+ yards and three touchdowns in each of the previous two games, so the poor outing shouldn't be assumed as the baseline going forward. Despite physical tools (10.5-inch hands in the 90th percentile, big arm, high velocity) that should theoretically help in wet conditions, Hartitz doesn't want to start him this week against a Bengals defense that should be better and has personnel (Sexy Dexi Lawrence) to cause problems; he's hesitant to 'find out' if the poor outing was an outlier.

Insight page

Mike Evans

NegativeInjury23:28

49ers offense fell from 1st EPA per play in weeks 1-4 to 19th in weeks 5-8; a healthy version of Mike Evans coming out of the bye would help the offense, though losing a game in the sample and playing the Seahawks also contributed to the drop-off.

Insight page

Patrick Mahomes

NegativeProjection11:00

Ian Hartitz ranks Patrick Mahomes as QB1 for Week 9 against the Jets, but expresses lingering concerns about the Chiefs offense explosiveness despite recent big plays from Emmet Johnson. He notes that Mahomes has scored more than 17 fantasy points only once in the last five games (since Week 3), with the offense struggling since Taequan Thornton's ankle injury in Week 4. Rich Rice's return is noted as nice but doesn't completely unlock the offense. Hartitz keeps Mahomes in the top 12 due to the Jets matchup being better than recent tough opponents (Chargers, Seahawks, Broncos), but tempers expectations given the overall inconsistency.

Insight page

Sam Darnold

PositiveMatchup31:49

TB22 ranking against the Cardinals, described as a good matchup. Ian Hartitz notes the Cardinals' implied points and fantasy points per game allowed are favorable, and references JSN's 155 yards and three touchdowns against this defense in Week 2 as evidence of expected passing volume opportunity. Also Ian Hartitz's 'break glass in case of emergency' streaming option for Week 9, suggesting he's a lower-tier but available fallback if better options are taken.

Insight page

Tanner McKee

NegativeProjection35:59

Ian Hartitz ranks Tanner McKee QB26 against the Giants. McKee is throwing for 210+ yards in his first three games, which is impressive given Eagles injuries, but he's averaging the same fantasy points as Justin Herbert this year (10 points per game). Given the Eagles' lackluster overall performance and injury situation, expectations should remain low.

Insight page

Trevor Lawrence

NegativeProjection4:13

QB6 for Week 9 against Ravens on Thursday Night Football. Ian Hartitz would move Lawrence into the top four if there were confidence he'd need to keep his foot on the gas, but the Jaguars' dominant run game (third most run-heavy team, +85 point differential) limits pass attempts. Last week: 14 pass attempts despite top-three efficiency in yards per attempt, adjusted yards per attempt, passer rating, and passing touchdown rate. Main fantasy drag: zero rushing touchdowns this year after nine last year.

0:00It is a great day to break down my week nine fantasy football quarterback rankings. Going to be going QB1 to QB30.
0:06Talking through the matchups, talking through why you should or should not be starting them and everything in between.
0:11After each tier of quarterbacks, also going to be answering a bigger picture question. Going to be looking at what offenses have been the most improved or
0:17least improved in weeks one through four compared to five through eight. Best overall game environments and a little bit of a by-week doctor for you guys to
0:24hopefully keep those fantasy lineups nice and strong as we have to deal with those weeks off. So, appreciate you guys tuning in. And with that, let's get
0:30after it with Mr. QB1 Josh Allen. Tough match up be damned against the Vikings.
0:35Yeah, I'm not moving the guy off. We have literally only seen 2019 Lamar Jackson average more fantasy points per game than what Josh Allen is doing in
0:442026. So, yeah, pretty freaking special.
0:46Could see him scoring, you know, maybe closer to 20 than 30 fantasy points this week. But, yeah, it's Josh Allen. QB2,
0:52I'm going with Drake May against the Green Bay Packers, guys. Another toughish matchup at the top. All right, Green Bay has been really good recently.
0:59They're actually third in EPA allow per play behind only Tampa Bay and Minnesota since week four. Very good company. And if they do get Michael Parsons back, I
1:08could see myself actually bumping Drake May down a little bit. You're starting him in 99% of leagues. Anyway, I do question a little bit how real this
1:17Packers turnaround is. Beat up on the Panthers and Cowboys. Well, let's face it, those teams haven't been playing great. Also can do the thing where you
1:23say, "All right, well, Jaylen Daniels led Buccaneers. How real was that? And again, kind of play that sort of schedule game. Now, we can also do that
1:30with Drake May and people have been doing that for the better part of the last calendar year. So, it goes both
1:34ways. Ultimately, I just think a really good quarterback is capable of beating a really good defense. And that's what we've seen with Drake May for the better
1:42part of the last five weeks, at least with him being a really good quarterback. Okay? Because even with no Matt Collins who could be returning,
1:47even with no Romeo Dobs, even with no AJ Brown or a shell of who we thought AJ Brown was, since week three, guys, 26,
1:5639, 24, 27, and 23 fantasy points for Drake May, only Josh Allen has more fantasy points from rushing than Drake May into position this year. I'm
2:05trusting Drake May. QB3 coming off the buy. Brock Pury going up against the Las Vegas Raiders. Here's a fun stat for you
2:11guys. All right. So far, the Raiders this year, they've allowed the Chiefs, Patriots, Bills, Rams, and Jets to score 30 plus points. All right. Five straight
2:20weeks. The NFL record for a single season defense allowing 30 plus points is six straight games. We have a well-rested 49ers team going up against
2:30this Raiders group. I think they're going to tie the record. All right. And that's not even a controversial opinion.
2:35It's actually what is expected by Vegas in terms of the 49ers and plant team total. So be a lot cooler if we get
2:40healthy versions of Mike Evans and Debo Samuel back. Actually saw this offense begin to look a little bit mortal with their banned up wide receiver room
2:47before the buy. But yeah, Brock Pury again deservedly in some of the early MVP conversations. My QB3 ahead of week nine. QB4 I'm going with Joe Burrow
2:56guys. Madrid early morning Sunday matchup. We're back against the Falcons defense that at one point this year look really good. And hey, I mean they're
3:03coming off a game where they held Baker Mayfield to negative -2 net passing yards. All right. Dominant pass defense performance in that one. I kid. I kid.
3:12But look, Joe Burrow, ever since he said that the two and two start wasn't Armageddon or anything, he's been lights out. 944 passing yards, 13 touchdowns,
3:21he is now the QB2 in fantasy points per game. And like Brock Pur deservely in early MVP talk. So Joe Burrow QB4 that
3:28feels low, but again just kind of playing that Raiders match up for Pury and then Drake May with the legs and how
3:33well he's playing leaning that way. But again, if you want Joe Burrow up those QB2, I would not call you crazy. QB5,
3:39I'm going with Jared Golf against the Dolphins. This will be the last outdoor game that the Lions have to deal with
3:45until week 17, guys. And guess what?
3:48Mother Nature is seemingly cooperating right now. Who knows, things can pop up in Florida all the time. But hey, looks like no rain right now, which sets up
3:55golf and company against one of the worst pass defenses in all of football.
3:59But hey, you know, when we got golf, Jamo, Amanra, Laaporta, and Gibbs all clicking. Other than the Vikings, like you got to feel pretty good about the
4:06upside here. So, Jared Goff, 20.3 fantasy points per game, 280 passing yards per game. Those are both, you know, career-high marks with the Lions
4:13at least. Feeling really good about this one. QB6, I'm going Trevor Lawrence against the Ravens here on Thursday Night Football. I would be willing to
4:21move Taw up into the top four if we just had any level of confidence that, you know, he was going to have to keep his
4:26foot on the gas. last week still gave you good numbers, but 14 freaking pass attempts, I don't blame the Jaguars.
4:32They're just really freaking good this year. And that has been really the only thing holding back this passing game because efficiency wise, it's
4:39incredible, guys. Like, we're talking about top three numbers in yards per attempt, adjusted yards per attempt, passer rating, passing touchdown rate.
4:46The difference between last year and this year for Tall, at least from fantasy perspective, has just been the lack of rushing touchdowns. We still
4:52have zero this year after nine last year. And again, the Jaguars just being the third most runheavy team overall because they've been so dominant. Plus
5:0185 point differential for Jacksonville this year. Next closest team's at plus 58. Shout out to the 49ers. So if it was
5:08Lamar on the other sideline, I feel a lot better about T. Long having to maybe again keep their foot on the gas, but
5:14unfortunately it's not. QB7. I'm going Dak Prescott against the Colts. I can accept. I don't love it. I am a very sad
5:22Cowboys fan. I understand if you lose respect for me because of that. To be fair, I'm 33, so look, I haven't seen
5:27freaking anything in terms of playoff success. All that aside, I've grown to accept and expect this defense to give up 30 plus points per game. You know,
5:37they just do against pretty much anyone.
5:39This offense though being average instead of a juggernaut given all the money they've invested everywhere, given the fact that they've now got a healthy
5:47offensive line. The fact this offense has been so mediocre in three of the last four games with the only exception being against an Eagles team that's
5:55pretty much already, you know, took booking their flights out to Cabo here in January.
6:00It has been rough, man. They got bullied against the Cardinals. Don't let him bully you, son. Shout out Leon Edwards.
6:06Four sacks season low. RB rush yards before contact for carry as well.
6:12Disgraceful performance, man.
6:14Disgraceful. And three of the worst performance. Their three worst performances of the season have all come the last four weeks. All right, we're
6:20going to talk about the offenses that have been most improved and least improved weeks one through four, weeks five through eight. Spoiler, Cowboys are
6:26one of the five worst offenses in that metric. So, that said, speaking of defenses likely quitting on the season a little bit, the Indianapolis Colts, if
6:34you don't think they're really quitting on the season, which I'm not, I get it, guys. too physical of a game. These guys
6:38want to go out there and put on good game tape regardless. But in the Colts case, they're also just seeing all their
6:43good players actively traded away. So, I think Dak and company get back on track this week at least. But whether or not
6:48that's going to continue remains to be seen. QB8, I'm going with Caleb Williams against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
6:54Another prime time game for the Bears, which is actually pretty fun because the Bears are pretty fun out there. So, Caleb Williams, guys, again, just
7:00incredible leaps up from last season and we have now seen this throughout his career. All right, rookie season, biggest issue. Taking so many sacks.
7:07Year two decides not to take sacks anymore. What was the problem last year though? Completion rate 58%. He is now up to 70.9%.
7:15Man, it is alarming when you look at just how much better Caleb has got. And I understand like he's been throwing the
7:23ball a little bit more, dinking, dunking and stuff, not pushing it down field, but you know who else does that? Patrick
7:28Frein Mahomes. All right. So, I'm tired of using the average target defaf as something that's just the most damning, you know, bit of evidence against a
7:34quarterback being good or not. So, not saying Caleb's approaching Patrick Mahomes heights yet, but just in terms of the completion rate, it was so bad
7:42last year and now it's just incredible.
7:44All right, so we've had 67 quarterbacks have something like 100 dropbacks over the past two years, like seasons. All right, including 2025 and 2026. The
7:54three worst seasons in completion percentage last year Shador, JJ McCarthy, and Caleb Williams. All right, three worst marks in completion percentage. The best three are this
8:04year's Joe Burrow, last year's Drake May, and this year's Caleb Williams.
8:09Literally owns the third best and third worst completion percentage season among a 67 quarterback sample. Caleb Williams playing great football. I just like to
8:17see him get back to running a little bit more. I mean, it's not hurting the Bears offense, obviously, but since he has
8:21returned from that hamstring injury, he's only had 118 and three rushing yards. So, tough Bucks defense, too.
8:28This is not exactly a slam dunk spot.
8:30Only the Vikings have been better than the Bucks in EPA allow play this season, but I do think that Ben Johnson company,
8:35the way they're cooking can score 30 on pretty much anyone. Keep nine, I'm going with Jordan Love against the Patriots.
8:4137 pass attempts this year. Don't at least 25 yards downfield for Jordan Love. the next closest quarterback, Josh Allen, all the way down there at 25. So,
8:51completion percentage isn't quite as provocative. We had some drop zone in there as well. Either way, Packers and Jordan Love really playing some great
8:58football and they're throwing the hell out of it, man. Number one team in dropback rate over expected, which makes sense. I mean, have you seen that run
9:04game this year? But yes, the leader in the NFL in pass attempts and passing yards. He's he's accumulated at least two touchdowns passing or rushing in
9:12every single game this season. Right now, Jordan Love is on pace to throw for 4,774 passing yards and account for 36 total
9:20touchdowns. Hopefully, we get a good old fashioned shootout between him and Drake May on Sunday. QB10, I'm going with Jaden Daniels against the Rams and I
9:28don't feel good about it. On the one hand, he peeled off 32 and 21 fantasy points before the team's buy and
9:34everything, but man, just 15 against the Eagles and they got the win, but it didn't look pretty out there. From the
9:40pre- snap penalties to missing Chicka Conqu on a couple wouldbe touchdowns potentially, it just hasn't been the cleanest version of Daniels as a passer
9:49this season. And when you lose Terry McLaren and now we got to go face a Rams defense getting healthier. We had Trent
9:55McDuffy out back out there in action. We could be getting Miles Garrett back. I am scared about Jaden Daniels in this
10:02passing game this week. And are we going to get the booms as a rusher? Because man, did we ever in that first game
10:08against the Giants? I mean, that was incredible. 100 plus yards and two touchdowns. Just 10 and 23 scoreless yards in two games since. So look, if
10:16they are forced to play from behind, maybe he does just get back to ripping off monster gains on the ground. But
10:21given this offensive line and now lack of high-end weaponry again without McLaren, I just worry this could be sputtering to a halt here and we just
10:29see an ugly performance from the commanders offense as a whole. That said, it's just such a freaking rushing cheat code. is still Jaden Daniels who
10:36you know I don't want to be the guy who says take away his good plays and all of a sudden you know what has he done for
10:40you this year? So conservatively QB10 just don't feel great about it. But I think as we get into the next guys
10:46you'll see other offenses that are dealing with injuries that are maybe a bit more severe or and or just even tougher matchups. But key question for
10:54this tier who has the best game environments in week nine. So I've been trying to kind of just figure out exactly where I want to go with this
11:00question throughout the season. But I think I finally landed on it. ladies and mostly gentlemen, team implied points, which again we can derive from every
11:07overall games uh matchup spread and then the game total basically tells you what Vegas thinks each offense is going to score and then the defense is fantasy
11:14points per game allowed the position. So got a handy dandy graph on the screen for the YouTube fam here. Top right hand
11:20corner we see good offenses matched up with good matchups. Okay, Brock Perie, Jared Goff, Patrick Mahomes, Dak Prescott, Matthew Stafford, and yes,
11:28even despite Monday night's not so good performance, Sam Darm against the Cardinals. Those are the guys standing out as really having the best of both
11:34worlds. Good offense, but a bad matchup.
11:36Caleb Williams, Josh Allen, just to a lesser extent, Drake May do stand out there. Bad offense with a bad matchup.
11:42We got Gardenner Menchu, Joe Fenano, and Gino Smith not exactly looking great. I would say with Gino, fully healthy Jets offense is looking pretty nicely out
11:50there and the Chiefs secondary has been banged up. And then in terms of bad offenses, but good matchups, Justin Herbert, Tanner McKe, Baker Mayfield,
11:58but who's really standing out this week as my preferred streamer would be Malik Willis. And it does stay pretty nice for
12:05the Dolphins here over the course of the next month. If you had Lamar Jackson or if you have a buy coming up, Caleb
12:10Williams, for example, does have a week 10 buy. I do think Billy Wilson is a guy that you should be stashing on the
12:15bench. But I'm also the idiot that told you guys that Jacobe Brassette was going to be a good streamer last week. So, you
12:20know, take that for what it's worth.
12:22Tier two guys, I'm feeling good, but I just got, you know, one lingering question here. Starting off with QB1, Patrick Mahomes against the Jets. Again,
12:29I don't want to do the, oh my gosh, take away these plays and he was so average.
12:34I just don't think this Chief's offense explosiveness concerns are solved by EMTT Johnson getting loose for a couple plays. All right, it was sweet last
12:42week. 73 yard, 38 yard. Those were the first two gains from this passing game of 35 plus yards since literally the
12:50play where Taekquin Thornton snapped his ankle. It's been rough. That happened in week four, early October. You know, Thanksgiving's coming up a little bit.
12:58It's a little It was like a month ago.
13:00All right. I I don't need to get too carried away, but the matchups were tough. Chargers, Seahawks, and Broncos. I don't
13:06consider the Jets to be, you know, in that same tier, even close to the same tier. It's still Patrick Mahomes. That's
13:11why I got him in the top 12. I can't get too carried away though because we still don't have the rushing. Rich Rice being
13:18back is nice. Albeit I wouldn't say he completely unlocks, you know, the greatest version of this offense ever.
13:23And we're still just looking at Mahomes where in these last five games, four games since week four, I'm sorry, since week three. Last week was the first time
13:33he scored more than 17 fantasy points.
13:35So, it's still been more good than great overall, particularly from a fantasy perspective. Mahomes might QB1 this week. QB12 Kurt Cousins going up against
13:45the 49ers. I was, you know, scrolling Twitter as I'm known to do and I saw someone suggest like maybe Kevin Oonnell
13:50was just a Kurt Cousins merchant all along.
13:54I'm not going to quite go there, but made me think it's reasonable to suggest at this point. And hey, shout out to
14:00Kirk Cousins basically playing his best football since those 2022 2023 seasons under the toutelage of KOC. But Kirk O change man got his swagger back. Guess I
14:09got my swagger back. QB8 in fantasy points per game. Actually, QB7, I think Caleb fell down a little bit there. The
14:15only reason I couldn't get a little bit higher is I do wonder if this 49ers defense could become a bit of a wrecking
14:20ball here down the stretch. Probably getting Nick Bosa back from the calf injury following their buy. And when you add the Forest Buckner that defensive
14:27line as well, that would be my concern here because again, as much as Kirk is doing great, you know, at just existing
14:32between those two two and a half seconds between getting the snap and throwing the ball in Brock Bower's general vicinity, we've seen it whether it's
14:38Ashen Jensy or Mike Washington, very very rough offensive line. Tyler Linda has not solved all those problems by any stretch of the imagination. I do worry
14:46on the road about this Raiders front getting overwhelmed against a well-rested 49ers defense. QB13. I'm going CJ Stout against the Chargers
14:54playing again great football. Speaking of partying, like it's 2023 again.
14:58Pretty much career best marks across the board. I just wonder at some point if these wide receiver injuries are going to add up. Nico Collins absolute dog. We
15:07get it. Hopefully we see Straoud and Maserati Marv continue to kind of rekindle that college chemistry. It was great seeing Tank Dell get back out on
15:15the field. One of the best stories of the year. Can he actually play 30, 40 snaps and be a differencemaker? remains
15:21to be seen. And now we got Jaylen Noel with turftoe. Unfortunately, Jaylen Mole, excuse me, unfortunately joining his Iowa State teammate Jaden Higgins on
15:29the IR. So, I'm just worried, man, that it's going to be Xavier Hutchinson being a number two here. Too much Dalton
15:36Schultz, the run game still can't do anything. And it's a Chargers defense that really has put them in a position to win some of these games. Justin
15:44Herbert could just not have two god-awful interceptions a week. Not saying the Chargers would be, you know, a juggernaut or anything, but they could
15:49at least have a win or two at this point. Sadly, hasn't been the case. So, Straoud, QB13, playing even better than
15:55that. Just a little bit worried about his weapons and what's not exactly the easiest matchup in the world. QB14, I'm going Matthew Stafford against the
16:02Commanders, guys. The reigning MVP hasn't been bad. All right, he had 317 or more passing yard errors in four straight games in weeks two through five
16:09and three passing touchdowns from week seven. That said, we actually have only seen Stafford complete one pass thrown 20 plus yards downfield since week four
16:20and it was on that little wheel or two outwell where he got sprung wide open.
16:24The depot just has not been there, man.
16:26Particularly without Devonte Adams in the picture. Look, Ky Williams, Blake Cororum, they're both just rushing super efficiently. They haven't needed Safford
16:33to keep his foot on the gas. I get it.
16:36But man, 7.3 yard average targets that this year. He was at nine last season.
16:40highest of any quarterback not named Marcus Mariota. We're just not seeing that same gunslinger and accordingly the expected passing touchdown rate has
16:48happened because it's just really tough to keep those numbers too high year-over-year and we're not even getting really the big plays that could
16:54help overcome that. So, Washington 25th in the EPA per drop back. I don't think the Rams are got too much of a struggle
16:59here putting up points, but I would be surprised if see too big of a boom from Stafford the way he's now playing in
17:062026. Give me 15. I'm going with Tyler Shuck against the Browns, guys. On the one hand, he's got four games with 22
17:13plus fantasy points this year. I mean, that's more than anyone not named Drake May or Joe Burrow. Same amount of games
17:18with 22 plus fantasy points as Josh Allen. That's a real thing. On the other hand, three of his last four games have
17:24had 16 or fewer fantasy points. He was not playing as best football before the buy. A little bit better against the
17:30Steelers. Still had the bad red zone.
17:32Interception wasn't exactly perfect.
17:34Now, Browns defense other than Denzel Ward, Carson Schwarzinger, you know, Mason Graham doing some good things in the middle, they have some blue chip
17:43players. We see Jared Vers play better.
17:45Last week wasn't good, but he is still a really good player overall. They've given up 51 combined points though, the Titans and Steelers over the last eight
17:52quarters of football. Okay, so it's not the toughest matchup in the world. Shock and company are at home in the dome with
17:59a defense. It's also not very good. So, it's tough, man. I could see ranking Tyler Shuck up there at Mahomes and not
18:07feeling bad about it. It's just a bad mix right now of Yeah, the fantasy points were there earlier in the year,
18:13but he's not playing as well. It's a average defense he's going up against.
18:18If we get Jordan Tyson back, I would feel better. Tyler Shuck is a tough one for me though. If we could guarantee
18:26decent quarterback play, I could see this Brown Saints game being a shootout.
18:30Kind of like last week. You know, one of the things we did get right was calling that Jets uh Raiders game a potential
18:35sneaky shootout, at least relative to what the overunder was, and they breeze past it. Obviously, I get similar vibes for Saints Browns this week. I'm just
18:43not quite as confident in shock and Deshawn Watson doing what Gino and Kirk did last week. Q16 streamer of the week.
18:50Let's try this again. Malik Willis going up against the Lions, guys. Rough rough start to the season. I mean, we're talking about 25 combined fantasy
19:00points. in weeks two or weeks uh two through four like it was bad. All right.
19:06Last three games though, 18.9 26 most recently 14.6 fantasy points. He had nothing going on the ground last week which is annoyance has happened more
19:15than a couple times this year but still managed to throw for over 200 yards and two touchdowns. this Dolphins team and
19:22the offense objectively in terms of EPA per play, which I know is nerdy, but it's just the best way that us nerds
19:28have determined to quantify the best offense. It's better than points per game, yards per play. EPA per play is the best we got. They've been a top 10
19:36offense since week five. And it's not just the run game. They're sixth in EPA per drop back, and they're 11th in EPA
19:42per rush.
19:44The matchups haven't been brutal.
19:45Bengals, Jets, Patriots have the buy we've done in their own three-game sample. I am not expecting the Dolphins to be a top 10 offense by the end of
19:53this year to be clear. Besides the Lions, a group to worry about. In fact, they've allowed nearly five additional fantasy points per game to opposing
20:01quarterbacks, the next worst defense out there. So, they've been getting healthier with Brian Branch, but unfortunately, you know, Jack Campbell very, very banged up. Prayers up. Hope
20:09he's okay.
20:10It's a matchup where I think the Lions are going to have no trouble scoring points on the Dolphins. And it's a
20:15Dolphins team that's playing better.
20:17Shouldn't have to deal with again the kind of [clears throat] very rainy additions that uh conditions I should say that really helped new things last
20:24week. Well, Willis, guys, this is the start of it. We get the Lions this week and then we get the Colts, then we get
20:31the Bills, then we get the Jets. It gets rough after that, but for these next four weeks at a minimum, I do think
20:36Malik Wils is going to deservely be in this upside QB2 conversation. QB 17, I'm going with Gino Smith in Kansas City
20:44going up against Steve Spagnola and company. We'll see if that secondary can get healthier, but don't look now. Gino Smith playing some good football. Took a
20:51good 30 minutes on my Monday morning to put together a little highlight mixtape on Twitter just showing some of these big time throws he's making. Clean
20:57pockets. We got Gary Wilson, AD Mitchell, Omar Cooper, Mason Taylor, Kenny Sadik, a returning Bree Hall perhaps eventually. There's weapons all
21:06over the place, man. Smith last week completed six passes thrown at least 20 yards downfield. That's tied with Jordan Love for the highest single game mark of
21:14the season. And in second place is also Gino Smith with five in that Lions game.
21:18Like when he is on, he is on, man. It really is a lot of fun to watch. That offensive line though, we knew with the
21:24two young stud tackles that it could be good and it has been. Gino this year has been afforded the third longest average
21:31time to pressure in the NFL. So I do worry about the matchup. Spags at home someone I do worry could fluster. Gino
21:38in particular secondary gets healthy.
21:41Saw him you know 67 scoreless yards got blanked by Chiefs last year when they played when he was on the Raiders but
21:46last year is looking more and more like it's in the rearview mirror man. 2026 Gino doing really good things making the
21:52Jets fun and for that we thank you. Key question for this tier. Mentioned this before, you know, a couple times, but I
21:58want to look at the biggest differences in EPA per play in weeks one through four compared to weeks five through eight. So, tweeted out the whole list.
22:04I'm just going to be focusing on the top five most improved and the top five biggest drop offs that we've seen. So,
22:10most improved teams, guys. Again, the Dolphins 30th in the EPA per play in weeks one through four. They have gone all the way up to 10th in weeks five
22:17through eight. So, not even just the run game. Ollie Gordon has help, but Malik Willis actually starting to come into his own. We have not one, not two, but
22:24three potentially promising rookie wide receivers at least going out there and making some plays. The Patriots as well.
22:30Yeah, Drake May really has turned the ship around in a hurry. Brutal beginning to the season. They were 22nd EPA per
22:36play in the first month all the way up to second though over the course of these last four weeks. And a similar
22:41sentiment with the Bengals. It wasn't quite as bad in weeks one through four.
22:44They were the 10th ranked offense. But they really are, you know, just becoming who we thought they could be. And that
22:48has been the best offense in football over the course of the last four weeks.
22:52The Packers as well have gotten much much better 26 compared to eighth in the first month versus second month. I will
22:58say this one feels a little bit more schedule induced. First four games they had to play the Vikings and the Bucks.
23:02Last four Bears, Cowboys, Lions, and Panthers. And then finally, the Giants, guys. Fifth most efficient offense in football from weeks five through eight.
23:10Again, threeame sample size, but JJ McCarthy, man, before that buy truly did do some really, really good things. Now for the biggest drop offs. Number one,
23:19the Ravens fifth 29th. No, Lamar Jackson makes sense. Second, the 49ers. This one surprised me. Number one most efficient offense in football in the first four
23:28weeks of the year. They've actually fallen off to 19th in the last four weeks. So, losing a game in that sample
23:33is obviously going to be an issue.
23:34Playing the Seahawks also didn't help, but yeah, would be a lot cooler to get healthy versions of Mike Evans and Dbo
23:39Samuel coming out of their buy. The Chargers somehow made this. No, yuck, you're not wrong. They were horrible in the first four weeks of the year. They
23:47gone from 31st to 32nd. The difference is they went from being one of the worst offenses in football to easily the worst
23:54offense in football. Guys, the gap between the Chargers and the second worst offense over the last four weeks, which is the Colts, is the same as the
24:01Colts in the 20th ranked offense, which is the Denver Broncos. Tough tough scenes in Los Angeles.
24:07Also, the Panthers 9th to 22nd in EPA first four weeks versus last four weeks.
24:13Offensive line wolves have not helped matters and also just haven't seen Bryce exactly get that deep ball going. And then finally, it's the Dallas Cowboys
24:20guys. They haven't been terrible, but we saw them rank as the third best offense in the first four weeks of the year.
24:26They have now gone down to 14th over the past four weeks with that Eagles effort doing a lot of the leg work there. So
24:32again, wouldn't overly freak out. We still do like the Jimmies and Joe's on offense and we do not believe in that
24:37defense, but yeah, let's see it, Dak.
24:39This is a matchup that he should hopefully be able to shred. Tier three would prefer to have someone else in these guys under center for my fantasy
24:46squad. Starting off with QB18, Deshun Watson, 300 plus yards in back-to-back games, man. He had zero such efforts in his first 25 starts with the Cleveland
24:54Browns. It's just been the sacks. Only Baker Mayfield and Jameus Winston have been worse in terms of pressure to sack rate. And you just look at it overall in
25:03the year. Only two quarterbacks have actually played a game and actually taken eight sacks in it. And both those quarterbacks were Deshun Watson. So that
25:12said, I was surprised to see given the fact that Chase Young's been pretty damn good these last two years. Saints are
25:17dead last in pressure rate this season.
25:19So that is again another reason why I could see this Brown Saints game shooting out. Just tough for him to be
25:24too excited about Deshawn because you know it's just one of those things where I think we we learned this in a good
25:30way. It was a good example that Packers versus Panthers Thursday night game. Oh, Packers run game sucks, but look at that
25:36Panthers run defense. This is a good matchup, right? We need to incorporate that offensive side of the equation because some teams just don't deserve to
25:44have, you know, a good matchup when their side of the ball isn't a good matchup either. All right. Does the Saints pass rush suck? Yes. Is that a
25:52good matchup when the Browns offensive line also sucks? That's kind of what I'm getting at. QB19. I'm going with Bo Knicks against the Panthers. He's
25:59winning games. You guys see that clutch drive? The way he threw that screen to Jonah Coleman. Special stuff from Bo Knicks. Look, my issue with Bo and the
26:09schedule clears up. All right, so maybe he is just gonna start being able to take advantage of things. He's got playmakers around him. Not going to
26:14fault the guy. We'll take fantasy points however we can get him. Panthers this week, then the buy. Now for the buy,
26:19Raiders, Steelers, Dolphins, Jets, Raiders, Bills, and Patriots. That's a pretty nicely stretch run down. My problem is we're still not getting the
26:27rushing, man. Yes, that 62 yard touchdown run was sweet.
26:32That is more rushing yards than he's had in his other 31 carries combined this year. 31 carries for 52 yards. I know a
26:41handful there are probably kneel downs, but man, that is tough for someone who is giving us top 10 numbers in rushing
26:48these previous two years. Right now, Bo Knicks still not exactly lighting the league on fire and passing efficiency, and we're getting nothing on the ground
26:55outside of one very good touchdown run.
26:57Tough for me to be trusting that even in a winnable matchup. QB20 Bryce Young against the Broncos guys. We gave him
27:03the pass for week seven's stud not so much in week eight. I don't think it's fully on him. I think it's the offensive
27:09line being a mix of injured and just bad. I mean hilariously the highest paid offensive line in 2026 this year is the
27:16Carolina Panthers. They weren't exactly doing a great job keeping Young, you know, alive in the first four weeks of the year. They actually allowed the
27:25highest pressure rate in weeks one through four, even before some of these injuries started to stack up. I think the issue has just been this passing
27:32game downfield come back to earth a little bit. Historically, we do see the deep ball be a little bit volatile, which makes sense. It's hard to throw
27:40the ball 30, 40 yards downfield against NFL coverage and consistently be hitting those. You know, your receivers can drop some passes, too.
27:47In weeks one through four, the Panthers completed a league high 11 passes thrown 20 plus yards downfield at a 55% completion rate. Four weeks since
27:55they've only hit on three of seven minus eight in terms of those deep balls, man. So yeah, they had a bye-week
28:01thrown in there, I believe. But yeah, improving in a meaningful way against Pastor Tan and company. That's where I'm at. QB2 JJ McCarthy coming off the buy
28:10going up against the Philadelphia Eagles that, let's face it, have not looked good. getting pulverized by two NFC East opponents over the last two weeks.
28:17Wouldn't be surprised if the New York Football Giants make it three. Some of the problems is just the run game.
28:23Obviously, they're gonna want to continue to keep Scatteraboo if healthy, very involved. And we also have Jameus Winston coming in for tush pushes inside
28:29the 5yd line. That's not ideal when we're trying to get again passing touchdowns short of the goal line. It's not the Pittsburgh Steelers over here.
28:35Maybe a bad example because they actually did use Muth inside the five yard line for a touch push, but before that they were not really doing that.
28:42It's just a matter of how much have these five quarters actually signal a new JJ and how much of it is maybe a bit
28:49of fugazi.
28:51Saints were bad. Obviously Texans have been bad, but I just still can't get it through my head how they are. I mean,
28:57it's still a tough matchup, right? Kind of. It's not an easy matchup. We can agree on that. His yards per attempt
29:02have gone from 6.7 to 10.1. His QBR 35.6 to 60.5. We're talking about nearly twice as efficient in these five quarters of football. And I don't think
29:14he's exactly going through a ton of progressions. I think it's Malik Neighbors or Isaiah likely or can I take off and run, but you know what? It's
29:20working. I don't know if the Eagles, the way they're playing right now, are necessarily in a position to really be doing too much against McCarthy. So
29:28again, we had 252 scoreless yards against the Texans, but man, were they impressive. Like those six or seven highlight throws from that game up there
29:36with pretty much anyone that we've seen in one this year. As crazy as that is to say, JJ McCarthy is playing great
29:41football. I will be very surprised if he keeps this level because this level is one of the best quarterbacks in the
29:46league, but you know, even truth is somewhere in between. Still going to be a good quarterback. Good for him, man.
29:52QB22. Not good for him. Kyler Murray against the Bills now in Monday Night Football. Is it a great matchup? It is.
29:58You look at the Bills, they were actually ranked 29th in EPA dropback before getting the feast on the Ravens backups last week. You know who's dead
30:05last in the EP paper dropout before last week? The Detroit Lions. And what we get out of it from Kyler Murray. One of the
30:12more lifeless 210 yards and two touchdown efforts I've seen. And you know what? You got the 19.9 fantasy points. That's all we care about at the
30:19end of the day. But he is so easily playing the worst football of his career right now. It's not even funny, guys.
30:26EPA per drop back, success rate, pass rating, anything you want to look at.
30:31It's not like Cardinals fans can say, "Oh, yeah. Now you see what we're dealing with. This is a worse version of
30:37Kyler by any of those metrics than we saw during his time in Arizona. The QB screamer, Kevin Oonnell. I don't think
30:44we can call him a whisperer anymore.
30:47I still believe Justin Jefferson is the man. I think Jordan Hass is good and TJ Hawkins has been playing well. You got
30:53to point the finger at Kyler and the coach at some point. I mean, how did KC watch Kyler versus JJ and come to this
30:59conclusion based on what we've seen over there?
31:02Maybe he is a bit of a Kurt Cousins merchant. Some of those Carson Wentz booms came in garbage time. Nick Mullins, maybe that was just Justin
31:10Jefferson on the heater. It has been rough for the KOC stands and I would like to think this could be a get-right
31:16spot against the Bills, but again, last week was supposed to be a get-right spot. Here's the last thing. This season, EPA per drop back. All right,
31:25let's take the last two seasons. any quarterback like a 50 dropbacks last season. This season there's been 66 qualified years. Murray ranks 59th this
31:36season. JJ McCarthy last year in Minnesota ranks 61st.
31:42Kyler is barely playing better than the JJ McCarthy we saw last year. By the way, JJ McCarthy this year, if you make
31:49the sample size low enough, 10th. People are saying people are saying TB22. I got Sam Darnold going against the Cardinals. Good matchup. Again, we
31:59looked earlier at the implied points versus the fantasy points per game allowed in the other side of things. It is going well. And hey, JSN went for 155
32:05and three touchs against this group back in week two. So, just in terms of expected passing volume to JSN, uh we
32:12can get Sam Darl ranked here. Would be a lot cooler though if we maybe add another wide receiver at the trade
32:16deadline. Jonathan Taylor this, Jonathan Taylor that, Brian Thomas Jr., that would be fun. QB 24. I got Michael Penn going up against the Bengals. I guess
32:24it'd be QB 20. Yeah. Okay. I listen to Q. Whatever. Michael Panks is next quarterback up Sunday morning. The weekend performance was historically bad
32:33actually in terms of adjusted yards per attempt, which is just, you know, waiting touchdowns, interceptions, sacks, things like that. It was the
32:40worst single game mark since the 2019 Sam Darnold seeing Ghost games. All right. And yeah, it was raining. Pennix is also someone he's got massive 10 and
32:49a half inch hands. It's like north the 90th percentile. He's supposed to be built like someone who can handle playing in the rain. He's got a big arm,
32:56lots of velocity. Those four interceptions I go through in my she report or bought beyond the box score report every Monday. Didn't take a CSI
33:04crime scene, guys, to figure out who was a fault with those. He was throwing it straight to Alex Analone and all these
33:09dudes out here. So, he threw for 200 plus and three touchdowns in each of the previous two performances. We shouldn't assume the worst appendix is going to be
33:16what we see every single week moving forward. We saw the Bengals behind by Cam Warden Company even without Carell Tate. I just don't really want to f
33:24around and find out here when it was such a miserable performance against a defense that should also be better and might have the sort of personnel to
33:33cause some problems here. Sexy Dexi Lawrence in the middle could make this tough for Bejian Robinson the run game and then if DJ Turner is helping healthy
33:41enough to lock up Drake London could be a problem where we just don't really see a number two emerge in Atlanta.
33:47QB25 Daniel Jones against the Cowboys.
33:49The only thing we can go on here is just saying, "Hey, it is the Cowboys." Okay, Josh Allen is the QB1 in fantasy points
33:55per game over these past two seasons.
33:57The QB2 is whoever has been playing against the Dallas Cowboys. So, obviously though, did play good enough in the first 40 minutes of last week to
34:04make me an alleged fantasy expert look very stupid for recommending streaming Jacobe Brassette. So, I do truly apologize for that. We will watch the
34:12film and get better, but that's kind of my concern here. Could the Cowboys, hilariously, one of the worst, if not the worst defense in the league, become
34:20a group that gets two starting quarterbacks benched in consecutive weeks? It seems possible. Shane Stiken after the game was saying, "We're going
34:26to evaluate everything." We saw Anthony Richardson get his first action of the season. I'm not saying it's going to get better going from Daniel Jones to
34:34Anthony Richardson. It clearly can't get worse, though. Maybe it can. Never say never, but it at least be more fun, I
34:38think, than what we're seeing right now.
34:40So, yeah, I don't want to start Daniel Jones this week. I don't think you probably do either. Key question for this tier guys. Just want to go through
34:46again some of the potential by week streamers for you. So this week we got the Steelers and the Titans on buy, but
34:51maybe you had Lamar Jackson. I do think Malik Willis against the Lions is the number one streaming option. If he's not
34:57available, I would then go to Deshawn Watson against the Saints. Sam Darnold probably to break glass in case of emergency guy here. Week 10 is going to
35:03be back to four teams on buy. All right, we got Caleb Bo Knicks, Tanner McKe, and Baker Mayfield. Once again, Malik Willis
35:09going up against the Colts. I do think is the top streamer of the week there.
35:13Otherwise, guys available in 60% or more of Yahoo Leagues. I do think Gino Smith and potential sneaky shootout against the Bills would be the next guy up. Six
35:21teams on buy in week 11. We got the Falcons, Browns, Packers, Rams, Patriots, and Seahawks. Once again, Malik Willis go up against the Bills.
35:28Stands out as the best option.
35:29Otherwise, I would really am a Baker Mayfield against the Lions, assuming Tampa Bay actually wants to run out of 21st century offense by that point in
35:36the year. Got some week 13, week 14 stuff as well, but yeah, it's going to be a while. So, before we get to the
35:42last few quarterbacks, guys, did want to give a shout out to our friends over at Sling because guess what? The football

36:19Last four quarterbacks, guys. Really hope you don't have to play them. Yeah, if you do, yikes. QB26, Tanner McKe against the Giants. He's throwing for
36:26210 plus in the first three games, which is kind of impressive given all the injuries. But man, averaging the same amount of fantasy points as Justin this
36:34year, that being 10. So, just [snorts] tough to expect too much from McKe given all the injuries and just lackluster performances from the Eagles in general.
36:41QB27, I got Baker Mayfield against the Bears. He's thrown 14 passes over these last two weeks and you know, they've blown off the Panthers and Falcons by a
36:48combined score of 59 to 13. So, also haven't seen Baker running just 15 total rushing yards. had that batshit crazy play where you know he kind of fumbled
36:56the snap and then somehow some somehow got a speed option to Bucky and then Jesse Bates said not now Chief Alman in
37:01the zone punching the ball out there at the end. So I would really be surprised if we can see the Buccaneers continue to
37:08run this, you know, 1905 offense against the Bears on Sunday Night Football. I would still like to see evidence that Baker Mayfield can, you know, throw 20
37:15passes in a game before we move them up the ranks. QB28 Gardenner Mchu against the Seahawks. Congrats Menu Mania. We're so back. Hell of a performance coming
37:24back against the Cowboys. Seriously, congrats Gardner. Good luck against the Seahawks, Rams, and Chiefs over the next three weeks. At which point, I'm
37:32assuming we'll see Carson Beck. QB29.
37:34Justin Herbert. I put together a 72 lowlight clip of Justin Herbert's interceptions this year. It's just incredible how bad they are. I I know
37:43the O line's been banged up. Lad's been in and out. The rest of the guys haven't stepped up. Mike McDaniel. Yeah, we
37:48can't call him a genius anymore. All those things are true. Also true. We have eight or nine picks this year from
37:54Herbert where he's throwing the ball directly to a defender in clean pockets.
37:59I don't remember anything like this, man.
38:02Not just going from really good or average, depending on how you felt, it was a bad year, you know, it was a let
38:08down year. This is one of the worst quarterback seasons we've seen since Herbert entered the league.
38:15All right, we have 227 instances of quarterbacks having 250 dropbacks since Herbert came in back in 2020.
38:26His first six seasons he finished among this group. All right, 25th, 46th, 71st, 89th, 109th, and last year 122nd and EPA
38:35per drop. So relative to all these seasons, he was above average to really good in five of them. Last year, average
38:42below average.
38:44This season he is 224th in that 227 QB sample. The only individual QB seasons we've seen be worse than what Herbert's
38:54doing right now is 2023 Zack Wilson, 2024 Deshawn Watson, and 2025 Shador Sanders.
39:02It's amazing.
39:04Can you guys guess who the Chargers backup is with Trey Lance on IR?
39:10DJ Ulli. Oh my god. If we see Herbert get benched for the dude that again played on how many freaking college
39:18teams over the years.
39:21I I just It's incredible. It really is.
39:25QB30 Joe Fagano going up against the Jaguars. Fano, that's how you pronounce it. I'll work on it. Unranked recruit.
39:34Walked on to Maine, found his way to Yukon. Now probably starting for the Ravens. So I think Declan Doyle will do
39:40some cool things. One good sign of a good play caller is how they do on passing. Like how many yards per attempt
39:46do you average on passing zone behind the line of scrimmage. All right, scheme screens, things like that. Things the Eagles are horrendous at. You know,
39:53that's usually a pretty good indicator.
39:54The Ravens joined the Jags and the Bills this year as the only teams averaging seven plus yards per attempt on passes
39:59behind the line of scrimmage. Not lost on me. Zay Flowers, Justice Hill, Derrick Henry have a lot to do with that, but you know, they're still out
40:05there. Is that a reason to get behind Joe against the Jaguars? Of course not.
40:09Maybe we can at least feed the ball enough to Z and Henry to keep them going. I'm dubious of that though. But
40:15anyway guys, that's going to wrap up this edition of our quarterback ranks.
40:18If you like the video, please like the video. Hit that subscribe button always helps as well. I am now going to go
40:22write about running backs and then be back here to bark about them. So, always a great day to be great in the Hurds
40:26household. Hope you guys had a first good first half of the fantasy season.
40:29If not, America loves a comeback and let's get those lineups right. So, appreciate you tuning in as always.
40:34Until next time, take care everybody.
