Perine relegated to backup role; just 29% snaps over past two weeks behind Brown.

The source reports that Samaje Perine's role in the Cincinnati backfield remains minimal despite a strong Week 5 performance that briefly threatened Chase Brown's lead-back status. Over the past two weeks, Perine has played just 29% of the snaps, confirming that the Week 5 fumble-related shift was temporary. The source emphasizes that this is still very much Chase Brown's backfield, with Brown maintaining 73% snap share and 64% of rush attempts, leaving Perine as a backup option with limited fantasy upside.
