Yahoo Sports NFL on Jameson Williams
From the article
Williams was involved in two extremely critical plays in the game. The first was his biggest mistake of the afternoon... Williams had not properly reported as off the line of scrimmage, causing the refs to call illegal formation... Then, to Montgomery: Williams: "Hey! I owe you, don't I? Montgomery: "Let's go!" Williams: "I still owe you! I still owe you! Aw, yeah! Aw, yeah!"
STACKED’s take
Williams' game-winning TD capped a redemption arc after an illegal formation penalty earlier in the fourth quarter.
Williams was involved in two critical plays in the Lions' 19-15 win over Minnesota: first, he committed an illegal formation penalty on third-and-inches in the fourth quarter (Lions leading 12-7) that led to a punt and Vikings field goal to take a 15-12 lead; then, after receiving encouragement from Dan Campbell and receivers coach Scottie Montgomery to "make a play," Williams blocked downfield on a 69-yard, seven-play Lions drive and caught a game-winning play-action touchdown pass from Jared Goff on the goal line. The mic'd up footage captured Williams' redemption arc, with Campbell saying "Way to pay us back!" and Williams responding "I owe you, don't I?" multiple times as he sprinted to the sideline.
