Video: Top 50 Week 9 Wide Receiver Rankings + Tiers
You guys might notice that Z Flowers is not in there... Zay Flowers. This is the best I could do. Wide receiver 22... He played and ran every route last week against the Buffalo Bills with uh with Joey F. 82% of the snaps, five targets, zero receptions, zero yards... it's almost impossible in my mind to like bench Z Flowers... I don't want to start Z Flowers with Joey F at quarterback.

WR22 with volatile production; fade with Lamar Jackson despite talent

Jackson Smith-Jigbman ranks Zay Flowers at WR22 with extensive start/sit analysis. Last week vs Buffalo, Flowers ran every route on 82% of snaps but had 5 targets, 0 receptions, 0 yards. Smith argues Flowers is nearly impossible to bench in 12-team leagues (2 RB, 2-3 WR, 1-2 flex) due to his talent and expected role in short-area targets. However, raw stat projections from Runthesims.com are not great. Smith compares the weekly uncertainty to players like Casey Coughlin, Nico Collins (with Davis Mills), and Justin Jefferson (with Josh Dobbs)—high-talent players with volatile weekly production. Despite projection concerns, Smith did not bench Flowers in any of his personal leagues, citing the risk of benching him and missing a touchdown. Smith prefers Debo Samuel over Flowers this week, citing the Ravens' 15-point team total (over double the 49ers' 31-point total) and the downgrade at QB with Lamar Jackson, explicitly stating: 'I don't want to start Z Flowers with Joey F at quarterback.'
