Yahoo Sports NFL on J.J. McCarthy

McCarthy earning praise from Eagles DC as a steal acquisition for Giants.

J.J. McCarthy is a hungry quarterback looking for his second chance to prove himself in the NFL after being fresh off a bye week absorbing more of the Giants' offense. Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio praised McCarthy's performance, saying 'the quarterback has come in, in a short period of time and really done a nice job, for them to get him for a sixth-round pick is a steal.' Fangio noted the Giants have a really good offense with skill at the receiving position and that McCarthy has done well integrating the Ravens-type offense and Kansas City-type passing schemes.
