McCarthy's bye-week prep and offensive growth pose matchup risk for Eagles' weak defense.

Eagles face J.J. McCarthy fresh off a bye week absorbing more of the Giants' offense; McCarthy is described by Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio as having 'really done a nice job' in a short period of time, acquired for a sixth-round pick which Fangio calls 'a steal.' McCarthy is a hungry quarterback looking for his second chance to prove himself in the NFL against a struggling Eagles defense ranked 27th in the NFL (367.3 yards per game allowed).
