However, he is now a third-round pick year-over-year, making him expensive relative to late-round QB alternatives. JJ Zachariason advises against spending up on Allen; the opportunity cost is too high in 14-16 team leagues with flex spots where the demand for running back and wide receiver shifts, making it more difficult to justify a premium QB pick when dual-threat QBs can be found late. In softer 10-team leagues where roster optimization is more critical, spending up on Allen makes more sense.
