Joins the 49ers, an offense that was dying for a legit wide receiver. Despite being older and dealing with recurring hamstring strains, Evans can still get open and is a good player. The 49ers are creative with getting players the ball; George Kittle is returning from an Achilles tear and Jawan Jennings moved to Minnesota, so red zone and 10-yard line work should flow to Evans. Brock Purdy throws a ton of touchdowns even without high volume. The source believes Evans has a real chance to lead the league in touchdowns or score 8-12, potentially becoming the Devonte Adams of 2026.

Source transcript excerpt
Michael Evans. Makes his move over to San Francisco, where I think they were really dying for a legit wide receiver uh one over there. And maybe it's Mike Evans. He's he's getting older. obviously dealing with hamstring strains it feels like almost annually now, but I still think Mike Evans can get open. I still think he's a good player. This is also an offense where they're so creative with how they get players the ball into their hands. You have George Hill coming back from the Achilles tear. You have Jawan Jennings who is in Minnesota now. And those are two of their biggest touchdown scorers on this offense. So, I'm going to imagine a lot of the red zone, a lot of the 10 10 yard line in is going to go to Mike Evans. I think Mike Evans has a real chance to honestly lead the league in touchdowns, but probably score, you know, 8 10 if not 12. Like, can he be the Devonte Adams of this year?
