Video: Preseason Games Changed Our Draft Rankings, Again.
He's dealing with a hamstring strain that he suffered at training camp and he is listed as week to week... Last year, it was the Rico Dael show after he broke out uh following Chuba's injury... I I don't think I've heard enough from the Chuba injury that concerns me to the point because we're four weeks out. If it was a grade two where it's like six to eight weeks, like yeah, Jonathan Brooks should be a, you know, fifth, sixth round pick at that point

Week-to-week hamstring strain opens door for Brooks; severity unclear

Chuba Hubbard suffered a hamstring strain at training camp, listed as week to week. The injury creates uncertainty heading into the regular season and opens the door for Jonathan Brooks to get increased reps and opportunity in the backfield committee. Historically, when Chuba has been injured, backup RBs have seized opportunity (Rico Dael had a breakout following Chuba's injury last year). The source is not overly concerned at this stage (four weeks out from the season); if it's a grade two sprain (6-8 weeks), Brooks should be a fifth or sixth-round pick, but the source is hesitant to chase Brooks up the board without more clarity on Chuba's injury severity. Chuba has been in the system for a long time and is expected to force a 1A/1B situation upon return.
