McCarthy's erratic preseason outing raises questions about Vikings QB depth.

McCarthy had an erratic start for the Vikings in preseason, completing 5 of 10 passes for 81 yards in a loss to Baltimore. He misfired to open receivers multiple times, including sailing a ball over Myles Price on fourth-and-1 and throwing too hard into the end zone twice for incompletions. Coach Kevin O'Connell pulled him after a couple of hard hits left him walking gingerly off the field, leaving unclear who will be the No. 2 quarterback behind Kyler Murray.
