Godwin still has one major advantage over everyone else in the room: his chemistry with Baker Mayfield. Mayfield knows where Godwin will be, trusts him in contested situations, and has consistently looked his way on third downs and in the red zone.

STACKED’s take

Positive signalRole

Godwin's Mayfield chemistry makes him Tampa's likely alpha over Egbuka; smash value at WR36.

At 30 years old entering his 10th season, Godwin has missed more games than played in the past two years, but Ashlie Abrahams of Bucs Wire argues fantasy drafters may be premature in anointing Emeka Egbuka the No. 1 wideout in Tampa with Mike Evans gone. Godwin's 'strongest quarterback-receiver connection in the NFC' with Baker Mayfield—built over several seasons—gives him an edge; Mayfield 'knows where Godwin will be, trusts him in contested situations, and has consistently looked his way on third downs and in the red zone.' In his last healthy season (2023), Godwin was targeted 130 times for 83 receptions and 1,000+ yards. With Egbuka dealing with turf toe, Godwin could become the alpha in Tampa's passing attack and 'smash his modest cost.'
