The team's inability to get No. 4 overall pick Carnell Tate a single reception, or Cam Ward a completion thrown 10-plus yards downfield, also doesn't add a ton of confidence to the idea that this group is ready to hit the ground running.

Ward had no completions 10+ yards downfield in preseason; Daboll's scheme remains stale.

In the Titans' preseason under Brian Daboll, Cam Ward did not record a completion thrown 10-plus yards downfield. This, combined with the team's inability to get No. 4 overall pick Carnell Tate a single reception, suggests the offense may not be ready to hit the ground running in Week 1. Daboll's preseason scheme showed minimal pre-snap shift/motion (18.8%, 32nd), consistent with his historical tendency toward a stale offense relative to the rest of the league.
