STACKED’s take
Hampton will be 2027 1.01 with McDaniel's lead-back system and improved Chargers line.
Hampton will be the 1.01 in 2027 fantasy football drafts according to Jim Coventry. Despite a lost 2025 season with an ankle injury and poor offensive line, Hampton averaged 14 PPR points per game and 15.4 PPR before injury. With Mike McDaniel hired to run the Chargers' offense, Hampton is well-positioned for a breakout: McDaniel's lead-back philosophy (De'Von Achane got 293 touches per year in Miami) combined with Hampton's 84th percentile broken tackle rate, 74th percentile yards after contact, elite offensive tackles, and improved line depth (rookie Jake Slaughter, three good tight ends, two fullbacks) creates a scenario where Hampton will have more than enough blocking to excel in McDaniel's outside zone scheme.
