Smith good but not great QB for Reid's Chiefs; never reached Super Bowl.

Smith was a good but not great quarterback for Reid's Kansas City Chiefs who never reached the Super Bowl under Reid's coaching. Reid immediately turned the perennially losing Chiefs into a winner, going from 2-14 the year before to 11-5 in Reid's first year, but Smith's teams never reached the Super Bowl.
