Maye threw three interceptions in the Patriots' season-opening 13-10 loss to Seattle, with all three occurring after halftime as New England squandered a 10-point halftime lead. The interceptions directly cost the team the game: the first came on a lofty throw deep to Romeo Doubs in heavy coverage; the second, targeting DeMario Douglas over the middle, allowed safety Julian Love to jump the route just past midfield and set up Seattle's go-ahead field goal; the third, a soft lob to Mack Hollins in the end zone with 26 seconds remaining, was intercepted by cornerback Josh Jobe and sealed the loss when the Patriots were down just three points and could have sent the game to overtime.
