An MRI on Thursday reportedly confirmed that Brown suffered a high ankle sprain, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. On Friday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the wideout will be place on injured reserve by the Patriots, which will rule him out for at least four games.

A.J. Brown suffered a high ankle sprain during the third quarter of Wednesday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks and was placed on injured reserve by the Patriots, ruling him out for at least four games. Brown would be eligible to return for Week 5 against the Las Vegas Raiders on Oct. 11. He left the game in a walking boot on his right foot after grabbing at his lower right leg following an incompletion.
