My understanding is the expectation is he misses six weeks. Generally, it is four to six. This is a little more serious. Six weeks, no surgery planned.

A.J. Brown expected to miss six weeks with high-ankle sprain; out for extended stretch.

A.J. Brown suffered a high-ankle sprain in the Patriots' season opener against Seattle and was placed on injured reserve. NFL Network insider Rapoport reported the expectation is Brown will miss six weeks, longer than the standard four-to-six week range for high-ankle sprains, with no surgery planned. Brown caught three passes for 26 yards in his Patriots debut before the injury occurred in the early third quarter while diving for an under-thrown Drake Maye pass. If held out for six weeks, he would miss games against the Steelers, Jaguars, Bills, Raiders, and Jets.
