Footballguys on Jalen Coker
ArticleWeek 1 Offensive Sleepers
From the article
Coker was mispriced all offseason as a back half of the draft bench pick even though he emerged as the clear #2 late in the season, finished with a 9-134-1 flourish in the thrilling wild card loss to the Rams, and then got a contract that confirmed his central role in the offense during the offseason.
STACKED’s take
Positive signalValue
Coker's late-season emergence and contract confirmation were undervalued; weak Bears secondary helps.
Coker was mispriced all offseason as a back half of the draft bench pick even though he emerged as the clear #2 late in the season, finished with a 9-134-1 flourish in the thrilling wild card loss to the Rams, and got a contract that confirmed his central role in the offense during the offseason. Chicago's secondary is depleted already, and Dennis Allen should be more concerned with Tetairoa McMillan moving around the formation than Coker, which could leave Coker in great one-on-one matchups he can win outside.
