Stampede Blue on Alec Pierce

Pierce placed on IR with heel injury; out minimum 4 games, realistic return Week 8-9.

Placed on injured reserve due to heel injury; will miss minimum four games with realistic return closer to Week 8 or 9 (six weeks or so). Pierce suffered a non-contact reinjury to his left ankle/heel that cost him all of training camp and preseason; he was unable to put weight on the injury and had to be carted off the field. He elected not to undergo surgery. Pierce had only 5 receptions for 72 yards through two games before the injury. The source notes he was at greater risk of missing more games had he been placed on PUP to start the season instead of active.
