Giants get former first-rounder for fifth-round pick; C grade, reasonable dart throw.

Teams use fifth-rounders and later as QB dart throws all the time. However, the Giants' lack of 2027 picks is a concern, though they can address that later. With Jaxson Dart out for the regular season after knee surgery, the Giants needed to make some sort of move, and McCarthy at least gives them another alternative if Jameis Winston struggles.
