NFL.com News on J.J. McCarthy
From the article
He can throw it. He can run it. He can make plays. There are a lot of things he could do better from what he did (in Minnesota), obviously, and we're going to see where it goes from here. But just from a talent standpoint, I don't think anybody would deny that J.J. McCarthy is a very talented young quarterback.
STACKED’s take
McCarthy acquired by Giants; Harbaugh praises talent and upside potential.
McCarthy was acquired by the Giants from the Vikings for a 2027 fifth-round pick and views the trade as 'an opportunity to take advantage of.' Head coach John Harbaugh expressed confidence in McCarthy's talent, saying 'He can throw it. He can run it. He can make plays' and noting that 'from a talent standpoint, I don't think anybody would deny that J.J. McCarthy is a very talented young quarterback.' Harbaugh is a fan of McCarthy, who helped his brother Jim lead Michigan to a national championship. The Giants have not committed to a timeline for when McCarthy might be ready to play, with offensive coordinator Matt Nagy noting the learning curve involves cadence, personnel groupings, formations, motions, shifts, plays, and defensive reads.
