0:00What's going on guys? It's Nick here, back with another video. Today we're going over your must draft players this season. You all have completed over
0:0655,000 mock drafts on my website. So, today we're going to take a look at the players you've been drafting most often
0:13and I'll give my thoughts on how much I like them. I want to be clear what this means because I've mentioned this before
0:18and some people seem very confused. Yes, Justin Jefferson is drafted in 100% of the 55,000 plus mock drafts, but I'm only counting user picks. So, if a CPU
0:29in your mock draft picks Justin Jefferson, that doesn't count. These are only the picks that you guys have drafted most often to your teams. So,
0:38let's start off with your most drafted player and that's Emeka Egbuka. Sort of surprising to me. Um I know we've been
0:45on Egbuka since the start of summer, but realistically, every day there's more and more mock drafts. So, if you're thinking about when these drafts have
0:52happened, the bulk of drafts has still happened in August, right? You guys were only doing a couple mock drafts back in
0:58May. Um And I've been off of him a little bit more recently. Plus, we have the toe injury. Now, I do think the latest
1:06reports on that are positive. He seems more day-to-day right now. And if you're day-to-day, I'm recording this the day before upload, so August 18th, we're
1:14still like, you know, pretty far out from week one. Uh you're day-to-day now, you should be good to go. So, I think
1:20we've seen more positive news in that regard. Um but I do have him ranked behind ADP right now. The ADP is
1:27relatively aggressive. I loved him in round four. In round three, a lot more needs to go right. Uh and it's not even
1:34just the toe injury. We've seen um not the greatest reports. Like it's it's been fine. It's not like he's playing bad and he's clearly the number one on
1:40the offense, but the hope was going into camp that he'd go out there, he'd be the clear number one, the entire offense is
1:48centered around him, you know, he's used like Cooper Kupp used to be used. He's used like JSN last year, like that role
1:55where it's like everything is centered around him. That has not been the reports. He's been the number one, but whether he hasn't earned it or they're
2:03not giving that role to him, it's just the number one. It's not like some featured weapon on the team. Now, maybe
2:09they're hiding things. Maybe he's going to perform better as, you know, camp goes along into the season, but I just backed off a little bit. I still think
2:16he's a very good pick, but I would not have him as like my most drafted player in mock drafts, targeting him, but I feel like having
2:25him number one is a little bit aggressive. So, uh I might add kind of a take he's on the must draft list. I might add a take on
2:33the must draft list just kind of like going over all this.
2:36But yeah, backed off a little bit, but still a very good pick.
2:39Second most drafted player, this one was shocking to me.
2:43Isaiah Likely, only tight end on this list.
2:48I get I can get why to a degree, right?
2:50It's pretty easy to get him no matter the draft slot. So, there are some players who you simply can't draft if
2:55you have an early or a late first round pick. Well, Likely he goes in round 10 right now. ADP's climbing into round
3:01nine. It's pretty easy to draft him from any draft spot going that late. I understand people like that he got the
3:07new contract in free agency.
3:09People like that, you know, he's not on Baltimore anymore, so the pass attempts can go up. He's not playing alongside Mark Andrews, although Mark Andrews
3:18hasn't exactly been that great in recent seasons. Um, here's what I'll say.
3:23I liked him a lot more to start.
3:26Liked him a little bit recently, and I still like him in like two tight end builds. So, I would not leave a draft
3:31with only Isaiah Likely. Draft Likely and then go out and get, you know, George Kittle, Dallas Goedert, Dalton Schultz, Ferguson. Totally fine with
3:39that cuz you're basically taking that shot on Likely, who still has plenty of upside. If he's actually going to be like the second most targeted player on
3:45this team, you know, very high-end ceiling.
3:49Um Great mismatch with linebackers.
3:52Like, he's basically going to be used as a big slot wide receiver. Uh Uh the problem I have with that statement is
3:57you can say the same thing about like Mike Gesicki. And I know maybe that's being a bit hyperbolic here, but like
4:03it's worrisome that it's a similar role, that he's not going to block. Like, first preseason game he was out there for what? Six of 16 snaps with Jackson
4:13Dart. We were thinking it would be 100%.
4:15Like, we were thinking, you know, how things were trending in the offseason, he'd be a full-time player and basically would be playing wide receiver. And so
4:22you're getting that great discount.
4:23That's not really the case. They're going to use other tight ends to to block. And so when they're in more blocking situations, he's going to be
4:29pulled off the field. You're like, "Okay, that doesn't matter. They're not throwing the ball." Well, they might.
4:33They might line up, you know, looking like they're going to run block and then go into play action. And you want him
4:37out there in those plays. And if he's not going to be in the snap share, it's going to be more limited. It's not as
4:43ideal. So, that risk also starts to climb as he gets into a round nine ADP.
4:48Again, do not take him as your only tight end. Totally fine in a double dip.
4:52Uh but, the Giants have also kind of struggled a little bit as a whole. There's as like a team learning this new offense in camp.
5:00So, I also kind of expect the Giants to start slow as an offense, especially if Neighbors is not 100% good to go to
5:06start the season. So, I don't know. I mean, definitely fine taking him, but as your second most drafted player, feels aggressive as well. Uh on to some
5:14players though that I agree with. So, we started off with two that it's like, I don't know, it just feels aggressive
5:18having these two as your top two. Uh I like most of the rest of your list here.
5:22So, Amari Hampton third. Um I I mean, you guys know I like the Chargers, right? I've had a hard time with Hampton because on the one hand, I
5:32love Keenan. And I think Keenan is, you know, what I've said, Tim Montgomery's most confident take. Keenan is probably my second most confident take. Um Love
5:39him this season. I do actually think Feaster all is going to mix in occasionally for a weekly role. Uh not as much as McDaniel makes it seem, but
5:47he'll mix in occasionally. So, those two things are not ideal for your second round pick. You don't want to really like their backup and think that a third
5:54running back could also get touches.
5:56But, his ADP is falling recently after the comments Mike McDaniel made basically saying all three are going to get touches each week and that they'll
6:04ride whoever has the hot hand. People hate that. People hate the hot hand take. Uh they like it if you draft
6:10Keaton, but they're like, "Okay, round two, I'm not going with a hot hand running back." Um a few weeks ago, I would say that having
6:18Achane this high was a mistake. Um I did the running backs ranking video where I went over how I think it's Saquon
6:23Barkley, Kenneth Walker, Chase Brown, and then having uh Achane.
6:30So, I got him less, right? Because he was going within that range, sometimes first in that range. I was not drafting
6:35him as often. Now, he does consistently go on a lot of different platforms after that range, just literally just because of these comments. And so, I'm going to
6:45take him a lot more because I don't think the comments mean anything, right?
6:48Mike McDaniel said literally the exact same thing back in 2023. He said they'd have a four running back by committee only to ride Mostert and Achane to have
6:57them both finish as top five running backs that season. We don't need any Chargers running back to finish top five, let alone have two inside the top
7:05five. And again, he said the exact same thing. That's just something that he says that, you know, that he's going to
7:10get his guys touches, that they'll ride the hot hand. Guess who's pretty likely to be the hot hand? Achane and Raheem
7:16Mostert, and Keaton Mitchell, right? Not as much Chris Brooks.
7:18Brooks will mix in, but this is going to be such a good ground game. So many potential touchdowns. So much weekly
7:26upside that if we're actually going to now consistently get Achane after this tier, I've seen some wide receivers start to go ahead of him. People might
7:34take Brock Bowers ahead of him. As we see Achane go into that mid second round consistently. If he ever moves into the
7:40late second round, we are turbo slamming that every time cuz it opens up insane ceilings. We've not been able to get the
7:47this elite tier of running back with uh Jamar Chase and Puka a lot of the time.
7:51Like if you take Chase Puka at this like three or four pick, you're just you're missing this range. You're kind of
7:56forced to maybe take um you know, Hampton H which I just don't like as much as you guys maybe do, but I
8:01don't like them as much or maybe you're forced to go double wide receiver, which we know can be frustrating this season
8:07because round three might not be great for running back. And then you're like, "Wow, uh rounds four and five are great
8:11at wide receiver, but I I just can't do it anymore cuz I already have three."
8:14And so it forces you in a bad spot. If Hampton's going to be available to you in that late second round, hopefully
8:19soon uh and you could go like a Chase Hampton or Puka Hampton, it really opens the door to a very high upside start. So
8:25I very much like you guys are getting him a lot. I very much like that his ADP is falling. Didn't get him a ton before.
8:31Starting to get a lot more of him in drafts now. Uh but speaking of this range, Chase Brown is your fourth most drafted player. Uh
8:39on ESPN he still goes at the two-three turn, but on average he goes 15th overall. Um I've said for a while we're going to
8:45talk about Ken Walker in a second. Ken Walker, Chase Brown are first-round talents, first-round profiles, running backs that should normally cost you a
8:54first-round pick, but are going in the early second round. But going in round two, uh take that every time that you can. I
9:01love running back running back starts.
9:02You guys seem to be drafting that a lot as well. Um basically the take for Chase Brown is the Bengals are going to be a
9:09very good team. Normally they're a very good team, high touchdown upside, but their offensive line stinks. And so they find themselves in a situation where
9:17they can't establish the run, they can't trust the running backs to get it done on the ground because there's no blocking whatsoever. Chase Brown is a
9:24very explosive player, but we haven't seen that as much because there's no room for him to run. Uh it's not like
9:29they're the top five off- offensive line, but they've got at least a league average offensive line, which is way better than the bottom five unit they've
9:35had the last like five years. Uh so now there's just going to be running lanes.
9:40We already know teams are terrified of Burrow, Chase, Higgins. Like literally uh Burrow and Mahomes were basically the two that like created this new sensation
9:49on defense of going with these two high safeties and pushing them really deep down field. Cuz teams are like, "Okay, they're destroying us. We cannot have
9:58only one player deep. We cannot have our safeties close closer line of scrimmage because Ja'Marr Chase is going to run right past us and we cannot be giving up
10:06explosive plays this often to the Chargers." And so they do that and it's been fine, you know, playing against the um the Bengals in recent years cuz their
10:14line is so bad that it's actually okay to play the two high safeties because they still can't run the ball even that
10:19happens. Well, now if they can run the ball and we're actually getting Chase Brown as a featured weapon with decent efficiency on the ground, explosiveness
10:27on the ground. Already and we know we're going to mix in a ton of receptions, plenty of touchdowns. He's a featured
10:32player going in round two on one of the best offenses in the NFL. So, great profile. Love taking him there. But
10:38again, Kenneth Walker is also a phenomenal pick. He's our sixth most drafted. We'll go back to the fifth most drafted in a second. But sixth most
10:45drafted player um again, very much agree. When you're in the late first round pick, so with a 12-team league, that's picks like 9 through 12. Um it
10:52gets a little bit better in a 10-team league. You can kind of do this from even the five pick on. I love going
10:57running back running back. I'm looking at uh James Cook, Achane, Jahmyr Gibbs, Saquon, Kenneth Walker, Chase Brown, Hampton. You can mix that how you want.
11:05That's how I have it in half PPR. But you can kind of rearrange that how you want. But I love leaving that one-two
11:12turn, again 9 through 12 in a 12-team league. Love leaving that with two of them.
11:17And Kenneth Walker is also a great option there. Latest reports, we'll talk about this uh probably in the live stream. Actually, that'll be yesterday
11:25for you guys. You can watch the replay of that. Uh but we'll talk about it there. We'll talk about it in the news
11:28video. Um been trying to figure out this running back rotation behind Kenneth Walker. Dude, does seem like honestly De'Ernest Johnson might get cut. Uh Uh
11:35so, it's going to be Emitt Johnson, it's going to be Breashard Smith kind of behind him. Um I like Emitt Johnson. I'm actually going
11:41to start taking him a lot more on Underdog, but both of those two are more threats in the receiving game, more
11:48threats to where, you know, Ken Walker can't push for 60-65 receptions, but he doesn't need to cuz he's going to get
11:53all the goal line touches, all this work on the ground. He's going to have a huge role this season. He'll still have
12:00efficiency in the receiving game. He'll still have a role in that area. It's just that like if he had 65 receptions,
12:06we'd be talking about him as like a top five pick. And so, that's why he goes in round two. I'm not too worried about
12:11Emitt, too worried about uh Breashard Smith stealing a consistent workload every week. They've been very consistent all season saying that they are going to
12:19ride him. He's going to get a ton of touches. And again, it's the two high safety thing.
12:23Teams are terrified of Burrow and Mahomes. I don't care if you think that um you know, Mahomes is worse than he was
12:29before or like uh you don't believe in the weapons for Mahomes. You don't think the skill players are all that good around him.
12:35Teams are terrified of Patrick Mahomes no matter who he has out there. And so, they're going to run those two deep
12:42safeties a ton, and that's going to give so many running lanes open to Ken Walker. He's going to have a great
12:48season this year. Back to your fifth most drafted player. And that's Ladd McConkey. Uh comes off the board on average in round four. I've seen him
12:57slip beyond that at times. Uh taking Ladd is basically a bet on the Chargers offense being great this season, and he's the clear lead uh wide receiver. Um
13:06I honestly don't know if that last part's going to be true. In round four, I think I'm willing to bet on it. Um
13:13you guys know I think Justin Herbert is an underrated quarterback. Um I think he's going to set a, you know, a career
13:18high in yards per pass attempt this season under Mike McDaniel. Um as long as the offensive line doesn't fall apart, I feel really, really good about
13:26this offense. I do think Trey Harris is going to play a lot more than people think, but I think that probably comes
13:32at the expense of Quentin Johnston. I think they want to have Ladd out there for most plays. Um I also think people
13:38think that Ladd took a step back this season. I don't think that's the case.
13:42Um obviously the box score looks that way, but again, I I don't think we can understate how injured the offensive line was and how big of an impact it had
13:51when you look at the healthy games versus the unhealthy games that offensive line. It is night and day how this offense performed. And when Justin
13:58Herbert drops back and he has zero time, you know, it's very predictable an offense. You know the ball is not being
14:03pushed down field. Um you know it's more difficult to sustain drives and you're taking all these sacks, you're getting the ball quicker, you're you're not
14:09getting explosive plays. And so that's going to hurt um the reception totals for Ladd, it's going to hurt the efficiency for Ladd, it's going to hurt
14:15the offense overall when the offensive line is bad. Look at the bottom teams in offensive line, it's very difficult to sustain the production. It's why we like
14:22the Chargers or the Chargers so much this season and the Bengals as well. Um Matt Harmon over Reception Perception has a great job charting players for
14:30wide receiver. Look at the underlying routes, how good were they irrespective of what was going on around them.
14:36Rookie season was great for Ladd. Nearly an all green route tree, cleared the 78th percentile versus man, press, and zone. Last year, again nearly an all
14:47green route tree, cleared the 88th percentile versus man, press, and zone.
14:52He is the best wide receiver on this team. Um I don't think it's crazy to think that like next season he can go back to being
14:59talked about as a potential round two pick, uh someone that, you know, could rack up 110 receptions in a season, could have just an a highly dominant
15:07season in fantasy. Remember he had 82 receptions for 1,150 yards and seven touchdowns as a rookie who opened up in more of a part-time role, but the
15:16offense fell apart last season. The underlying metrics were still awesome.
15:19It's just the offense couldn't sustain his production. So, you know, while the swap to McDaniel opens up some usage risk, we just don't know how he's
15:29going to view these wide receivers, that is why he's not going early.
15:32Remember that before the offensive line injury, when people started to back off this offense in general, we were talking about Ladd as, you know, like should he
15:39go in round two? Should he go in round three? Like should this be where he's going right now? And now you can firmly
15:43get him in round four. I've seen him fall to round five, but the offense should be much better than last season,
15:48has more upside than even began with last year before the injuries. And so again, there is that risk that like what
15:54if McDaniel really likes Trey Harris?
15:57What if he runs these heavy sets where sometimes Ladd isn't on the field? That risk is there, and so that's why he's
16:02not going to go in round three. But in round four, I'm willing to bet on who I think is an underrated wide receiver on
16:09what I think is an underrated offense.
16:12Seventh most drafted player, Bashaun TuTu. Uh this one I also sort of disagree with. I like TuTu, and I know there's a lot of you out there that love
16:20his talent. There's so many TuTu TuTu truthers that really want to draft him this season. Um I think I featured him
16:26in the league winners video as well, basically just going over players who I think have that league winning upside, and I still think he has that in his
16:32range of outcomes, but the ADP has climbed to a point where it's a little bit aggressive. Um I don't know, I just don't think he
16:41should be your seventh most drafted player, your fourth most drafted running back. Um he's going in like round five right now. That's just early.
16:49We started basically being like, okay, if like the case for him was if they don't want to be highly predictable, they won't play Rodriguez
16:58and Lequon Allen as much because we know you're going to pass the ball when Lequon is out there at a very high rate,
17:02and you're going to run the ball at a very high rate when C-Rod's out there.
17:05But you don't know what's going to happen when TuTu's out there, and so I thought there was a chance that that
17:09would happen.
17:10Not really the case. Like in camp, they're splitting the workload. There have been days recently where Chris Rodriguez is getting more of those
17:16snaps, more of those carries with uh Trevor Lawrence. And if there's a chance that Chris Rodriguez out carries Breashad Tooten straight up, like just
17:26has more rush attempts than Tooten, and that Laquon Allen is just on the field sometimes in these passing situations, that really hurts the upside
17:35cuz they're also talking about Chris Rodriguez having that goal line role.
17:39And so if we reduce the potential touchdowns, we reduce the early down usage, reduce the potential in the receiving game, Tooten really needs to break out as a
17:48player, be highly efficient, and command a strong role, or else he's more of a committee running back that you're drafting in round five. He has the
17:56profile of that potential dead zone running back, but people kind of don't want to see it because they like Tooten so much. So again, I get it. I just
18:04think he's your fifth round pick. There are better options to go with in round five. He could break out, but you really
18:10need the talent to be there, and I'm a little bit scared. If you ask me who would I rather draft Tooten at cost, or
18:16Rodriguez at cost, give me Rodriguez. I know that sounds really gross, but Rodriguez goes so much later, and they kind of like Tooten has more upside, but
18:26I feel like both of them don't really hit unless there's an injury. So give me the later running back, and the one that
18:32might be the lead on early downs. I know that like you're not starting Chris Rodriguez if there's no injury, but for
18:38Tooten it's a little bit scary in round five. I just don't know if I want to spend that pick on him. I definitely
18:42don't want him as my seventh most drafted player. Next up, one I'm glad to see, and that's Keaton Mitchell climb to
18:47the 12th round by ADP on average right now. It will be round 11 soon, probably will push into round 10 by your hometown
18:54leagues drafting in late August. But unless he starts going into like round eight or nine that I'm I'm still going to be mostly all in on him this season.
19:03Same exact reasons for Amari Hampton just at a significantly lower opportunity cost. Of course, also lower touch upside. Like Hampton is way more
19:12likely to push for like, you know, 17 to 20 touches in a game than Keeton Mitchell is. That's not going to happen.
19:17Um But my goodness, I mean Keeton's going after Searon, he's going after Tyjae Spears, Jr. He's going after Charbonnet.
19:25Literally, Charbonnet's coming off a torn ACL and won't play until like October or November and he's going after Charbonnet. Um I don't really understand
19:32any of that. He's going to be one of the most efficient running backs in the NFL this season. He's going to get like he's
19:37getting downhill targets in camp. So, he's going to be used in the receiving game and those are going to be highly
19:41efficient routes. Um there's pretty obvious injury risk, but like people are picking and choosing when they care about that. They're like, "Oh, can't
19:47draft him in round 12 cuz he might get injured." But you're going to draft Charbonnet in like round 11 who's literally like actively recovering from
19:54a major injury. That doesn't make any sense to me and is guaranteed to miss time. Um I think honestly though, my
20:01strongest take here into why it's like if you're teetering on like should you draft these Chargers running backs, week 16, fantasy semifinals, trying to advance to
20:12a Best Ball Mania uh final if you're playing Best Ball, but even in your like hometown leagues, semifinals, trying to get to the finals,
20:18at Miami for the Chargers.
20:20Do you remember that game in 2023 when Miami scored 70 against Denver? I think the Chargers are going to do that in
20:26Miami in week 16 in Mike McDaniel's return. He was basically like kicked out of there and I think he goes in there
20:33and is like, "Guys, we are running it down their throats." I think they're going to be highly efficient in the receiving game, but I think they're
20:40going to drop like 50 real life points on the back of like over 300 rushing yards, five rushing touchdowns. So, if
20:47you want to advance to a Best Ball Mania final this season, I think you actually might need a Chargers running back. So,
20:52I load up on them all the time. But even for the vast majority of you only playing in redraft league, if you're
20:58sitting there in week 16 and you see that your Chargers running back is going up against Miami, you're going to be licking your chops.
21:04You're going to be very excited to be watching that game.
21:08Ninth most drafted player, DJ Moore, a player I've come around to a lot more recently. You guys have been on him a lot more than I have. Um
21:16I don't know. I think I was just too concerned to start the off-season about how bad not only the box score was last
21:21season, but the underlying metrics were as well. Um He was a full-time player on the Bears offense in a Ben Johnson
21:30system and you couldn't even play him in fantasy.
21:33And he went into that season being a player we've loved for, you know, what?
21:37Like seven years in a row. And so that was frustrating. It was like, oh, maybe he's just falling off as a player
21:42because also the underlying metrics were bad. The problem is he was in that sacrificial X role, not a role he should
21:49be in, not a role he's going to be in this season. You also have the theoretical threat of Keon Coleman to
21:55start the off-season, but that's not going to happen. So Keon's been terrible. He's not going to be a thing, firmly behind Joshua Palmer. So now
22:02you're basically competing with Palmer.
22:03We know he's just a mediocre wide receiver. Shakir captained his role. DJ Moore in camp has been the clear number one, had great chemistry with with Josh
22:11Allen. He's just going to be a very good pick this season. Not a must-draft player just because Josh Allen will still spread the ball around a decent
22:18amount. And he's still more up there in age than you typically get from like a true breakout season. But he's a great
22:23pick, really solid pick in round five if you need wide receiver. He's someone that I've been going to a lot more
22:28recently. And then finally, Puka Nacua.
22:31I'm actually surprised to see him here.
22:33Honestly, like I think Puka's a perfectly fine pick to make, but I prefer Jamar Chase. I think it's very viable going with CMC. We'll see about
22:40this whole tightness thing for McCaffrey, but I think it's completely viable if you wanted to go with McCaffrey over Puka. And so, you know, I
22:46can see him falling to that fifth pick.
22:47I get him the least amount kind of among this top five. And so just surprising to see.
22:54But you know, obviously I get the upside, right? He was a must-draft player for the website last season.
22:59Um Capable of 200 targets. No player in NFL history has averaged more receiving yards per game than Puka in their career. He's one Adams injury away from
23:09averaging like over 20 half PPR points per game. I still prefer Ja'Marr Chase just because Ja'Marr Chase has much more touchdown potential. He's someone I
23:19could actually see in a good season having 20 touchdowns if Adams stays healthy. It's just not going to happen for Puka. They will lean on Adams over
23:27him in the red zone. And so, that's just the one differentiator. They're both on great offenses, both have great quarterbacks, both have very high
23:35yardage and reception totals. It's just the touchdowns is the only difference.
23:38And if Chase has a better ceiling there and a better chance of hitting that ceiling, I'm going to go with Ja'Marr
23:42Chase. Um, but yeah, I get Puka being this high.
23:46Um, I would have expected to see Ja'Marr Chase here over Puka, but so be it. Uh, you guys can do what you want. Puka's
23:53still an amazing pick. So, uh, those are the top 10 players. Again, there's been over 55,000 mock drafts on the website.
24:00It is completely free to mock draft on the website. So, if you've got a draft coming up, head on over there,
24:05thefantasyfootballadvice.com.
24:07You can draft, um, if you have access to the website premium access, you can also draft with the dynamic rankings. And the
24:13mock draft screen is the exact same thing as the ranking screen. So, if you get comfortable using the mock draft tool on the website, you go over to the
24:22custom rankings, it's going to look exactly the same for you. It's going to be very comfortable drafting in your draft. I think that's like an important
24:28thing. A lot of people draft on like Fantasy Pros or draft on like ESPN or something like that. And they'll start doing it and but their
24:35like ranking sheet that they're going to be using is either print out or it's on some other website and it's like they're
24:41kind of jumping back and forth. They're not as comfortable with it. Well, you can be comfortable with it, right? You can mock draft on the site. You can see
24:46how it works. And then your actual rankings are going to look like that when you draft on the website. So, again, thefantasyfootballadvice.com.
24:53They have the dynamic rankings, which you're really going to want to use this season. All right. That's it for this one. On Friday, we're going to go over
24:58the players who you have not been drafting on the mock draft tool on the website this season. With that, I'll do
25:03it for this one. Subscribe to channel if you are new. Leave a like if you're still here, but I'll catch you all on
25:08the Friday video.
