NegativeInjurySep 30, 2026
Bucky Irving was benched or injured after getting lit up in pass protection; unclear if hip injury, shoulder, or other issue, but he didn't play after the incident, raising concerns about his availability and role going forward.NegativeProjectionSep 30, 2026
Bucky Irving is ranked RB23 for Week 4 against Green Bay despite being one of only three running backs with at least 10% target share in every game this season. The source expects the backup quarterback situation (Jalen Daniels potentially limited with a new brace) might increase Irving's usage, but projects only 18 points (29th in the NFL). Irving did not play after getting lit up in pass protection with a hip injury, which creates concern about his effectiveness and availability.NegativeUsageSep 30, 2026
Bucky Irving has shown inconsistency with three great plays followed by backbreaking mistakes; he was benched or suffered a setback in the fourth quarter of the recent game (hip injury, ice applied), and he had a drop in the game. While he makes people miss between the tackles, the rest of his game has not been clean, and his pass protection struggles are concerning.NegativeProjectionSep 23, 2026
Film review shows Irving has lost explosiveness compared to previous years; while he has a great first step and can avoid disruption, he's one of the slowest running backs in the NFL once he hits the second level, and lacks the game-changing moments and real explosives that defined his earlier play.NegativeRoleSep 23, 2026
Irving owns only 37% of carries inside the red zone for Tampa Bay so far, which needs to increase for him to be a reliable fantasy asset; this limited goal-line role is a concern despite his first-step ability.NegativeMatchupSep 23, 2026
Faces tough Week 3 matchup against Vikings and Brian Flores defense; Vikings have allowed only 11.4 PPR points per game to running backs over last four games, which is worrisome especially given Baker Mayfield's pressure issues.PositiveRoleSep 23, 2026
Dominant snap share and usage through two games: 61% and 79% of snaps, 183 yards and a touchdown; getting two-minute drill and goal-line work with Kenneth Gainwell not limiting him as expected pre-season. Hayden. We was wrong pre-season expecting Gainwell to step into Rashad White role.PositiveUsageSep 21, 2026
Bucky Irving was highly efficient for the Buccaneers, recording 17 carries for 89 yards (5.2 yards per carry), though the overall offense remains disorganized.NegativeValueSep 17, 2026
Irving is mentioned as part of a tier of running backs (alongside Aaron Jones and David Montgomery) that Rhamondre Stevenson would be ranked ahead of if Trevon Henderson were ruled out.PositiveBreakoutSep 17, 2026
Irving is a potential top-15 RB if he secures goal-line work. He showed strong usage in Week 1, catching passes in negative game script and running effectively. Travis A-chan compares his playstyle to James Cook and notes that the Buccaneers' offensive line is a positive factor.PositiveBreakoutSep 14, 2026
Harmon identifies Irving as a "really, really big winner" after Week 1. He showed explosive rushing ability and strong pass-game usage, running 59% of routes in 11 personnel with a 27% targets-per-route-run rate. Despite a third-down fumble, his consistent production and role make him a high-priority add.NegativeUsageSep 8, 2026
Bucky Irving is viewed as a fantasy RB2/3, with his outlook complicated by a significant split with Kenny Gainwell and the potential goal-line role of Sean Tucker. The Buccaneers' offensive line is strong, but the Bengals' defense has been bolstered by the addition of Dexter Lawrence, making the matchup tougher than last year's stats suggest.PositiveUsageAug 31, 2026
Bucky Irving has a wide range of outcomes but is an attractive target behind a top-tier offensive line. While Sean Tucker's guaranteed contract suggests he will have a role, Irving is the preferred back for non-goal-line work. If Irving secures the goal-line role, he has 'home run' potential; otherwise, he is projected as a low-end RB2.NegativeBustAug 26, 2026
The source advises avoiding Bucky Irving in the 5th round due to multiple red flags: he is a 195-pound rusher with a history of shoulder injuries, faces competition from Kenneth Gainwell in the passing game, and saw Sean Tucker and Rachaad White take goal-line work late last season. While he has theoretical upside, the source believes the cost is too high given the team's lower projected scoring compared to his rookie season.NegativeProjectionAug 26, 2026
Hayden Winks is fading Bucky Irving, noting his poor efficiency metrics (65th in rush yards over expected) and the fact that the Buccaneers' offense is projected for significantly fewer points than last season. Winks also highlights competition from Kenneth Gainwell, who is expected to squeeze Irving for passing-down work.NegativeProjectionAug 19, 2026
Ranked 58th in full PPR top 100.NegativeProjectionAug 19, 2026
The source is not sure if Bucky Irving could actually average 17 fantasy points per game, suggesting skepticism about reaching elite running back production levels.NegativeValueJul 29, 2026
Irving is listed as a round five running back option in the speaker's strategy discussion comparing early running back pairs with late-round running back alternatives; he is positioned as part of the later-round running back tier (alongside Dave Montgomery, Trevion Henderson, John Judkins) that the speaker views less favorably than taking two early running backs and two later wide receivers.NegativeProjectionMay 27, 2026
Underdog projections currently set Bucky Irving's rushing touchdowns at 5.5, which is tough to sell given his current role and injury concerns.NegativeInjuryMay 27, 2026
Bucky Irving is recovering from offseason shoulder surgery and has not been cleared to participate, raising concerns about his availability for the upcoming season.
