0:00Cheers! Bottoms up! Many other drinking terms to you.
0:03My name is Matthew Berry, welcome to the Fantasy Football Happy Hour with Matthew Berry.
0:07Jay Croucher is next to me, we're gonna meet him in one second, but welcome.
0:11Jay, I just want to point out before we get started with anything else.
0:15So this is a set, it's a work in progress.
0:18Can you see all the way in the back?
0:21Like, you're like, oh, well, Matthew's got his name in the title, it's so exciting.
0:25Like, is there anything like that? And then, but like, look, they've got cowboys, they've got stupid cowboys in the back.
0:31Everyone knows I'm a Washington Commanders fan. This is awful, it's awful.
0:35We will change the set. Literally, like, can we get a shot of this?
0:39Like our sad jersey wall here for a second?
0:41A couple of Washington players, great, and Chad Pennington.
0:44The Football Happy Hour with Matthew Berry. Welcome to the Fantasy Football Happy Hour.
0:48Where did that go? That Chad Pennington. That's right.
0:51On the jersey wall. Live from the dead. I didn't remember that.
0:54Yeah, I didn't remember the wall was that bad.
0:57Two-time comeback player of the year, Chad Pennington, by the way.
1:00This is another man who could have cost me money.
1:03I don't know if I was old enough to bet back then.
1:06What an electric factory between you two, by the way.
1:09Unbelievable. Can't imagine how I ended up here. Amazing that show didn't get canceled after season one.
1:14This sad little helmet wall and the jersey wall as well.
1:17But, you know, things survive, I survive, you survive, and Chad Pennington survived as well.
1:22Connor joined us pretty early on in the run.
1:24Chad Pennington, greatest Jets quarterback? I mean, Joe Namath.
1:27But taking that away, yeah, I'll give him number two.
1:30In the NFL? I'll give him number two. Greatest Jets quarterback in the NFL?
1:34That played well after the merger. Who's number three, though?
1:37It was like Ryan Fitzpatrick for his one year?
1:39This is where it gets like real. It'd be like 80s and 90s guys.
1:43Yeah, it would get really ugly. Ken O'Brien. You're talking about Ken O'Brien, Vinny Testaverde for a year.
1:48Yeah. Let me tell you, Mike White really had a good four games.
1:52I really believed in Mike White. Tim Boyle ends up somewhere down the list.
1:56He's on there. He's on the list. All right, so welcome to Fantasy Football Happy Hour.
2:01Gentlemen, I have a prepared statement. All right, so listen, here's the thing.
2:05You guys may have seen this in the press a little bit here.
2:08It is not a secret. My current contract with NBC is going to come to an end in a few months.
2:14So I can't tell you, as we sit here today definitively, where I'm going to be in August, which means, of course,
2:21I don't know what the future of Fantasy Bowl Happy Hour is.
2:24I can tell you this much. I'm continuing to talk to NBC and a bunch of other places, and I'm confident, this
2:31is me being positive, but I'm confident it will work out and that we will see Happy Hour this August.
2:36But what I don't know is what exactly it will look like and whether or not, candidly, the three of us will specifically be here together again.
2:44I can tell you genuinely, you know, we joke a lot, but genuinely I can tell you guys, I hope so.
2:50I truly love working with the two of you.
2:53I truly love working with everyone on this show.
2:56I truly love the regulars. I love the audience.
2:58I really love this show. And so you guys are amazing, and I'm genuinely hopeful that everything works out.
3:04But because there is a chance this is our last show, we wanted to acknowledge that, right?
3:09And we wanted to celebrate the last four years.
3:11And our thought was, hey, if we do come back, it would be the most Happy Hour thing ever for us to
3:18do a big, serious finale spectacle and then show up in the fall like nothing happened.
3:22That was fun. Never mind. Ignore all that stuff.
3:25So what I will say, however, though, you know, I like to quote Jimmy Buffett.
3:29Don't get me wrong. This is not a sad song.
3:32So what you're going to see over the next 90 minutes, we've got a supersized show.
3:37We've actually got after hours from the Happy Hour this time is going to be a celebration.
3:42It's a celebration of you guys, of the show, of the last four years.
3:46We're going to have an absolute blast. And I would say to the regulars, listen, it's the last show.
3:51There are no rules. So bring the heat and we will have an absolute blast, just like we have over the last four years.
3:58Steven, roll the tape. Jay, you are the head of trading for PointsBet and you have been for five years.
4:04You've obviously done a lot of stuff with NBC Sports.
4:07People don't know who the hell you are. And I think people also don't know what the head of trading for PointsBet does.
4:13So talk to me about that. Yeah, so I set the lines, basically.
4:17So when we talk about Cowboys are three-point favorites over the Eagles, that's my job.
4:21And it's not just football. We do all sports.
4:24So if we want to do a Happy Hour on Portuguese soccer, I can do that as well.
4:29You can. Yeah, I can do that. Good, you can do that with somebody else.
4:34I am not going to be the Portuguese soccer guy here.
4:37Yeah. When I came over to NBC, they promised me no Portuguese soccer.
4:41No Ben Beacon. It's in small print in my contract.
4:43You'll find yourself here on the Fantasy Football Happy Hour where we will drink.
4:47Listen, I'm no longer on Disney, so cheers to that.
4:50Happy Tuesday. Welcome to the Fantasy Football Happy Hour.
4:53Not what you were expecting, right? I'm Connor Rogers alongside Roto Worlds and the co-host of the Roto World Football Show, Denny Carter.
5:00Denny, great to have you in here, man. Don't adjust anything right now.
5:03Matthew is on the way. We're going to welcome in Matthew Berry, who is in the building right now.
5:09I am looking right at him. We are excited to have him here as he walks over the grand entrance.
5:15Welcome on. Matthew Berry. What a disaster. That's okay.
5:17You made it. What's going on? Sit. You know what?
5:20It's not enough to have Connor here with his good-looking hair and his young, boyish good looks.
5:25Let's make sure Denny Carter and his head of lettuce is on camera as well.
5:29I don't know if you heard this, but so it's a 14-team, two-quarterback league that Jay and I are playing in with all the show staff.
5:37I'm in it. Oh, you're in that league? Yes.
5:40It's 14-teams. I wasn't told to learn everyone's names.
5:4214-teams. You've got the gig. You don't have to fake laugh at everything I say.
5:46You don't have to Ed McMahon it. You don't have to Robin Quivers it.
5:51You can legitimately laugh or ignore, because not all my jokes are winners.
5:54No, they're not. In fact, there's a lot of losers.
5:57That's what I'm thankful for. No, Josh Jacobs. Yeah, whatever.
6:00I've got healthy kids and a wife. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
6:04No, no. I didn't face Josh Jacobs. The important stuff here is, you know, didn't play against Josh Jacobs.
6:09I'm a proud peacock, baby. Proud peacock. Woo-hoo. Is that what they do?
6:13That's what they do, right? That's on peacock. Are you on the TV-12 diet?
6:17No, I'm on the chicken finger diet. Okay, I like that.
6:20No, it's what I am. Yeah, no, exactly. I'm on the chicken finger and choco taco diet.
6:25You know what I'm talking about? Like it's an animated, like it's an animated, like not animated.
6:30It's like a stuffed animal. It's a stuffed animal, a monkey.
6:33And he's just like, he's doing this. Yeah, I've seen that one.
6:37It's a good name for the award. Is it the happy hours?
6:40The happies? You know, they want a happy? The happies?
6:43The peacockies? No, that's bad. That's real bad. No, don't go peacockies.
6:46Yeah, don't go peacockies. I kind of like the peacockies.
6:49I think it's the happies. I think it's going to be the happies.
6:53Let's start off. The peacockie goes to? Come on.
6:56The peacockie goes. No, we can't do that. Happy Peacockies Day.
6:59Yes, the annual award show is back. But I have no idea where Matt Deberry is.
7:03Do you guys know? Aye. We kind of need him.
7:06I think I see something walking in. Oh, no.
7:09There you go. Here we are. With a big ass purse.
7:12Peacockies. We're going to turn to the camera. That's original.
7:15Look at him. Look how beautiful he is. I'm taking you home later.
7:19For your next touchdown celebration, could you do a peacock?
7:22Like a... Like just kind of like... Right. And people might think it's an eagle, too.
7:26Or it's an eagle. But just like... And we'll know it's really for a peacock.
7:31And it'll just kind of be a shout-out to us and all of our friends.
7:35It's kind of like... I project 275 yards and four touchdowns for Ty Lockett against my commanders.
7:40The expectation there is that they'll put a manual force on him to just get burned left and right and right and right and right.
7:47Penn State Blake over there, who's a diehard Eagles fan.
7:50He's all smiles because he knows... There he is.
7:53Look at him. He's all fun. He's actually the happiest we've seen him.
7:56He's all smiley because he knows they got away with one.
8:00If I was an NFL running back, I'd be much more closer to Isaiah Pacheco.
8:04Kind of just, you know, like a lot slower and a lot...
8:07Like much easier to bring down. Yeah. But just, you know, kind of that plotting sort of like...
8:13Connor Rogers alongside, I think, Matthew Barry and Jay Croucher.
8:15Hey, it's me. I'm Luigi. I'm a Luigi. Get used to this.
8:19I'm a company of man. Yes. It's me, F-Mario.
8:22Yeah. All about the Luigi. Yes. Hello. You didn't win the Emmy.
8:25That's not my Emmy. Let's just make sure. Who won?
8:28Who won the Emmy? Todd Zeal. Yeah, sir. My colleague at SMY.
8:31Todd Zeal from Mets Postgame. Does an incredible job on Mets Postgame.
8:35He beat a loaded field. I mean, a loaded field in terms of analysts.
8:39And because of that, I believe you are Todd Zeal from SMY for Halloween.
8:43That's correct. I'm the man who beat you. You get the Emmy, not me.
8:47This is the Emmy that I won. So, if anyone has any questions, I'll answer it on the show by an Emmy.
8:53Yeah. Hey, you know what the... F-A-U, Todd Zeal.
8:56F-A-U. Yeah, yeah. F-A-U. You should have won it.
8:59Yeah. You should have won it. Yeah. Yeah, maybe next year.
9:02Read between the lines, Todd Zeal. On the flight back from Pittsburgh on Monday morning at 8 a.m., Matthew Barry's ordering Diet Cokes.
9:08Like on the flight? From the steward? Yes. Like the flight attendant?
9:12Yes. Yeah. You can't be ordering Diet Cokes at 8 a.m.
9:15That's an absolute mess. That's how he does. And then after he asked on the flight for Diet Coke, he asked if
9:21there was a platter of chicken tenders available. There wasn't.
9:24I'm sitting in first class. Jay should be in the back of the bus.
9:28But somehow, because there are only first class seats available on this particular flight, NBC had to put him in first class
9:35so he could observe everything I do. Normally, he's back.
9:38You pull the curtain over? No, f***. You see a Jay and pull the curtain.
9:42Yeah, I see a Jay and I'm like, no, no, no.
9:45Use your own bathroom. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Absolutely not.
9:48Not a beer. Not a beer. Absolutely not. I wore this because, Jay, I don't know if you remember this, but today,
9:54today is the one-year anniversary of our magical night in Buffalo.
9:57Is that right? Yeah. Oh, my goodness. Exactly. So just one night in Buffalo.
10:01I know you don't remember a lot of that night where you claim not to, but look, it meant a lot to me.
10:08It meant a lot to me. Hola, and welcome in to the desk of this.
10:12Great costume over there, Fred. Thank you very much, obviously.
10:15Yeah, Fred from Scooby-Doo. You know, it's interesting, doing my research for this role.
10:19Fred's, there he is. 10 out of 10. Pretty good.
10:22I mean, I think, you know, like, we're doing what we can with the hair.
10:26Yeah, that's right. You're going so far with that.
10:29I'm always follically challenged, even when wearing a wig.
10:32Fred doesn't have, like, a lot of catchphrases. There's not, like, a lot.
10:35He doesn't really have much to say in general.
10:38He's honestly not particularly interesting. He's just sort of the leader.
10:41Fred and Daphne don't bring a lot to the table, if I'm being honest with you.
10:46It's a part of few words. Which is why it's perfect for me.
10:50Here, honestly, Connor. You bring the knowledge, and I'm just sort of here for the good looks.
10:55I'm just telling you, like, when you have a chub and then a young Woody shows up, the chub goes down.
11:01It is what it is. Everyone knows that. Our next player, Rashad White.
11:04By the way, Woody Mark's 69% available. I don't want to leave that out.
11:08Yeah, 69% available? Do they love it? Unbelievable. Like, you really can't make it up at this point.
11:14I'm not gay, but if I was, I would go there.
11:17That's the type of outfit you're a fan of?
11:19All right. He looked awesome. Oh, man. Yeah, the chat is upset.
11:23No ankles. I feel robbed. That's from Jesus Hermosia.
11:25Yeah, Matthew, you got a different look today. The ankles will be back, what, Monday?
11:30Maybe Sunday if people are lucky? You know what?
11:32Oh, here we go. You know what? Be careful.
11:35Don't strain anything. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Don't pull anything.
11:38Oh, boy. I really can't really see an ankle.
11:40Five to one odds Barry is not wearing pants, which those odds might have cashed, judging by the angle.
11:46A man, Johnny D'Angeli from YouTube. Chase Brown should be called the Gobbler because he's going to gobble up receptions.
11:51Do you think Chase Brown would enjoy being known that somebody wants to nickname him the Gobbler?
11:56I just don't know that that's the kind of nickname that a lot of guys would like.
12:01No, I don't think nobody. Look, his last name, Brown, too.
12:05Imagine being called the Brown Gobbler. The Brown Gobbler.
12:07You definitely don't want to be that. You definitely don't want to.
12:11The Brown Gobbler sounds like a rejected Batman villain.
12:13Right? This one from Valiant Vincent. Connor looking like he just stepped off the set of Happy Gilmore 2.
12:19I love it. That is true. It's a golf polo.
12:22Or honestly, you kind of look like a waiter at a knockoff theme restaurant.
12:26You know what I mean? I am self-deprecating, but I don't think that one lands.
12:30I disagree. Like, hey, welcome to Islands. I'm Connor.
12:33Can I get you a Mai Tai? I was searching Cameo to see if I could find somebody that could do a draft order for us.
12:40And, well, I did. Hey, it's Emmy Award winning broadcaster and analyst Todd Zeal.
12:44Just here for Matthew to give you guys the draft order for this year's Fantasy Football Camp.
12:49We're going to start out with Roto Pat at the top, followed by Denny.
12:53And then Matthew is going to be third. And I guess that would leave number 12 and absolutely dead last.
12:59That would be Connor. Let me make sure that I got that list right.
13:03Let me grab that list. Oh, yeah, here it is.
13:06Right here underneath my Emmy. This is unbelievable. It's always your own people.
13:10Enjoy the Fantasy Football Camp. Oh, man. A lot of good memories.
13:13We didn't even get all of them in. That's all.
13:16And they're well done by the team, though, putting that together.
13:19It's really good. Some I forgot, honestly. I had forgotten a lot of those as well.
13:24Stunt man Chuck. Jay has aged a decade and four years, which is very rude from Todd Zeal.
13:29All throughout that, Todd Zeal, who, by the way, had a 350 OPS in the 99 playoffs in Texas.
13:34So, please, Todd Zeal. Some of our stones being thrown in the glass house here.
13:39Come on. Two-time Emmy winning. Todd Zeal, thank you very much.
13:42A lot of comments about how Jay and I have aged.
13:45A lot of bricks. Connor hit people really hard since his first appearance.
13:49Well, that's in four years. Yeah, I mean, working with me every day will do that to you.
13:54Yeah, it's like being the president. Matthew looks similar.
13:57Yeah, you do. You look exactly the same. I have looked like an old man for the last 25 years.
14:03That's the thing. I mean, like, I lost my hairline fairly early.
14:06You know, right. I just, I'm an old man.
14:09I've been an old man since I was like 30.
14:11Yeah, you're like Keanu Reeves, except your age got frozen 40 years after his age.
14:16That's right. That's the, you know, the immortal thing with Keanu.
14:19I did not even notice. Like, I noticed when they showed the very first episode and your bio, the third line of your bio was Keanu Reeves enthusiast.
14:27I didn't even catch that. Yeah, that was unbelievable.
14:30Yeah. Shirtless Ben Johnson, are those socks on the last show?
14:33I know. Oh, you know what? Shirtless Ben Johnson, they are.
14:36I just, you know, the wardrobe, they ran out of it like the small socks.
14:40Maybe I should. Ah, wardrobe thrown under the bus.
14:43Plus 210 to cast on the last show. But good time if you had it.
14:47In a game seven, the pressure gets to people and the pressure goes to wardrobe.
14:52There's the ankles for people. You know what I'm going to do?
14:55Shirtless Ben Johnson, in the break between segment one and segment two, I will take off the socks entirely.
15:01That's what I will do. There you go. Good for everyone.
15:04That's something to look forward to. Yeah. Make sure we roll cameras on that so we can have a highlight that we roll back as well.
15:11By the way, you didn't hype it enough. We have some premium guests on this show today.
15:16Yeah, no question. Absolutely. Like big names. Superstars. Yeah, big names.
15:19Nothing but superstars. Yeah. We've already seen Todd Zeal.
15:22Todd Zeal, that's a tough act to follow. Is A.J.
15:25Brown coming back? No A.J. Brown today, although maybe.
15:28But we welcome in a frequent guest and friend of the show in Roto Pat.
15:32Oh, there we go. Yeah, there he is. There we go.
15:35Roto Pat. Roto Pat. Yeah, defending champion of our League of Assholes.
15:39And wins guillotine every year. Yes, he does. Every single year he wins guillotine.
15:43Hello, Pat. Hello. Well, Jaden Daniels canceled, so they brought me in.
15:46They thought I'd be the preferred first guest for Matthew.
15:49Matthew, hell of a run here at Fantasy Football Happy Hour.
15:52I look forward to it keeping going. And yeah, I look forward to it.
15:56I hope we get to keep doing the guillotine league because my favorite yearly tradition is to get 15th place in week
16:03one and almost get eliminated and then somehow win the league going forward the rest of the year.
16:08But how you doing, buddy? I did not remember Scooby-Doo Barry.
16:11Yeah. That was quite the variation of Barry there.
16:14Can I just say, Roto Pat, do you think that if Matthew does leave NBC, that'll be the impetus for you to get some Bluetooth headphones?
16:21Because that would really maybe be a good country.
16:24There's no budget large enough in NBC Sports that would afford me YouTube Bluetooth headphones.
16:28So that will not be happening. You don't think so?
16:31The money they save on my contract, you don't think they can do it?
16:35I think it's like Aaron Rodgers. He is choosing this.
16:38He is. They sent high-level executives to my house and I just refused.
16:42Like, this is philosophical reasons. It's religious reasons. It can't be done.
16:45Denny, one of the things that... That's proud of you.
16:48Denny, one of the things that... I'm just plowing through that.
16:51Denny, one of the things that... One of the memories of this show that didn't make the highlight reel for whatever reason
16:57is that you were in the peacocky outfit the last time we had...
17:01Most recent one. Not every year. Not every year.
17:04That we know of. We don't know. Honestly, we don't know.
17:07I can't confirm that. It might have been you in the outfit every year.
17:11Yeah, exactly. I never did reveal peacocky. So my question is, is like, have you worn it since?
17:16Did that inspire you and Mrs. Rotopat? You know, I don't think people realize this, but Rotopat has like 12 kids or something like that.
17:24He's a challenge for a little river. Yeah. He is fertile.
17:27Rotopat is fertile. Make no more sense. His boys can swim.
17:30Yeah. I was just curious of, you know, what's going on with the peacocky outfit.
17:34Well, to answer your question, first off, it takes three months to dry clean.
17:38A very involved outfit. A lot of cleaning on that.
17:41And that was in January. We had four children at that time.
17:45Next month, February, all of a sudden we had a fifth child.
17:48So you be the judge of what the peacock costume did to our family.
17:52By the way, Matt, you're the only person in the industry, I feel like, who would get me to debase myself to wear a peacock costume.
18:00But it felt like an honor. And that part wasn't stressful.
18:03The most stressful part of the peacock costume was after one or two awards, the whole desk was kind of getting uneasy.
18:09They started murmuring. Basically, the peacock is not dancing well enough.
18:12Right. Like, we need better dances out of the peacock.
18:15And in my head, I'm like, I'm a 39-year-old dad.
18:18I haven't learned a new dance since the Soulja Boy.
18:21But I powered through. I came up with some new dance.
18:24That honestly really was a highlight. Just two quick things, Roto Pat.
18:28Firstly, you're lying because I know you dress up as a peacock all the time for field yates.
18:33So you'll do it for anyone in the industry.
18:36And then secondly, no one ever get into a Waymo with Pat because he sits in the front seat and he touches the wheel.
18:42It's the only rule of being a Waymo. It's the one thing you can't do.
18:47That's the one thing that he does. Yeah. He's always been a rebel.
18:51He's always been a real rule breaker. Did I call?
18:53Apparently, I called you Denny at some point during the segment.
18:57I apologize, Roto Pat. I don't know your name.
18:59It's my last show. You know, whatever. So we're trying to figure it all out.
19:04But Roto Pat, listen, you are a gentleman and a legend.
19:07And for my money, the best peacocky we've ever had.
19:10So continue to appreciate your friendship and support. And thank you to all your contributions over the show.
19:15We will absolutely do the Guillotine League next year.
19:17100%. We will absolutely bring that back. Matt, I'm the best.
19:21Matthew, I'm the best peacock. You're the best to ever do it in general.
19:25Thank you so much, man. Thank you, my friend.
19:27Thank you, brother. Stay out of the Waymos. Well, you gave away the next guest three times.
19:32Did I? It's Denny Carter. Is it really? Yeah.
19:35Okay. Sorry. Well, I kept saying. I don't know.
19:37All right. Fair enough. We'll have Denny on in a second.
19:41Yeah. Quite sweaty, that outfit, the peacocky. Oh, it was unbelievable.
19:44I felt bad for him. Me too. I don't think he really knew what he agreed to until he was about 20 minutes into it.
19:51Yeah. It was like Ryan Reynolds and Buried. Yeah.
19:54It was basically the exact same thing. One last film reference for The Road.
19:58I was just going to say, and like not a movie that anyone's seen.
20:02You can have picked any Ryan Reynolds movie. No one's seen Buried.
20:05Like people have seen almost every Ryan Reynolds movie.
20:08Yeah, I don't know that one. No one's seen Buried.
20:11He's trapped in a coffin. He needs to get out.
20:14Yeah. Well, I figured out the premise from the movie, from the name of the title, but I've never seen Buried.
20:20Let's see. 87% on Rotten Tomatoes did not have that on my bingo card.
20:24Maybe with this newfound time I'll have, I'll watch them Buried.
20:27I will tell you that we were, I was trying to think of, like, we had a couple of conversations about, okay,
20:33for the last show, what should we do and everything like that.
20:37And I just like, should it just be a three-hour watch party of Magnolia?
20:41Should it be live from the Jaguars bar? Should it be, like, we actually pitched this as well, and unfortunately the FCC
20:47said no, but I wanted to, legitimately, this was an idea that we talked about, that I was just going to get
20:53hammered throughout the 90 minutes and take a breathalyzer at the end of it to prove that I am impervious to beer,
21:00which I still insist that I am. Maybe we'll do that at the wrap party.
21:04We're having the wrap party June 4th at an undisclosed location, so maybe we'll have, maybe we'll do that.
21:10The FCC also, they banned the idea of us doing the show at the Jags bar.
21:14You can't show Jags fans on TV. That's not America.
21:17It's fair enough. It's fair enough. All right, let's welcome on Denny.
21:21This is not Flexual Frustrations. This is just Denny Carter, not Dr.
21:24Denny. Hello, Denny. Hey, guys. Hey, you can call me Rotopat since you called him Denny.
21:29That's fine. Yeah, the good switcheroo. Well, you're wearing a hat, which is so weird.
21:33You know, like, normally you've got your luxurious locks, your great head of lettuce out there for me to be jealous of.
21:39I'm a Bolts fan first and foremost. Everybody knows this.
21:42Sure. Thanks. I'm going out the way I came in.
21:45I've worn this on the show before. Come on, man.
21:48Can you explain why, Denny? It's actually not a San Diego Chargers fan at all.
21:52I like the color. I don't know. I don't know what to tell you.
21:57And I can hold a conversation. Here's the thing.
21:59When I'm in the grocery store and someone goes, oh, Chargers, I can hold a conversation like I'm a Chargers fan.
22:05Oh, man. It's been tough luck for the past 40 years, but I think Justin Herbert can get us over the hump this year.
22:12Yeah. I know you go deep in the Billy Volick bag.
22:15Yeah. We've got that in the club. But couldn't you have that conversation about any NFL team?
22:20I would think anyone that does what we do for a living.
22:24Like, when I go to parties, it's always, you know, somebody talks to me about a team and then I can talk to them about their team.
22:32I could do that. I could do that. I live in Maryland, okay?
22:35No one's even heard of the Chargers here. That's fair.
22:38That's right. Yeah. How often do you really get stopped wearing that at the grocery store?
22:43Do you think the biggest, just I'm curious, guys, do you think the biggest flaw in that story is that Denny actually gets invited to parties?
22:50No, he said it at the grocery store. Oh, it's a grocery store.
22:54That I believe. He definitely has to go food shopping.
22:57I believe you go grocery shopping. I do believe that.
23:00I do that a lot, guys. Yeah. But I wanted to thank you for having me on today and for letting me
23:06be part of the show over the past few years and for letting me do fun bits and, you know, joining along with those bits.
23:13The flexural frustrations, I almost said sexual frustrations, but that's not what it was, was one of my favorite things I've done
23:20in the industry and you all really played along, really made that happen.
23:24So I wanted to thank you all, especially Matthew.
23:26Now, listen, Denny, you were an awesome contributor to the show throughout.
23:30We love that you took some time out of your schedule to be with us.
23:34And you played along with our dumb bits, whether it was flexural frustration or honestly, I always loved what the mainstream media didn't want you to know.
23:42That's sad. Denny Carter. Like, I love the year that we did that.
23:46Who did you keep calling? Rachel Maddow? I believe she wasn't answering, but that was a really good one.
23:51Got me for like three weeks in a row.
23:54Chris Hayes wouldn't come on the show. I don't know why.
23:57You know, he was too scared. So I came on instead.
24:00Right. I keep trying to tell the mainstream media about Trey Harris, but they won't listen.
24:05They're not answering the calls. Yeah. Or Greg Dorch.
24:07Right. I was trying to go with a charger because of the hat.
24:11Oh, yeah. There you go. You're forgetting he's a Chargers fan.
24:14He's celebrating David Njoku. Right. Of course. Very timely.
24:17Yeah. It's very exciting. Are you excited about the Njoku signing?
24:20I'm so excited, guys. Listen, I'm excited for him to run 35% of the routes every week, no matter what.
24:26You know, that'll be fun for fantasy. It'll be fun to figure out.
24:30We're going to talk about it all season like we can figure it out, but we won't.
24:34That's what I promise you. The one thing I will say, we don't, I mean, we could do 10 seconds of a
24:41fantasy analysis here if we want to, but since Njoku's brought up, the one thing I will say is that I actually, Njoku's a great blocker.
24:48And just you think about like, we're excited about this run game under Mike McDaniel.
24:53We're excited about Omari and Hampton finally being healthy.
24:55Their offensive line being finally healthy. And I think, you think they signed Charlie Kohler.
25:00They signed David Njoku. Like, feels like, Connor, they want to do a lot of 12 personnel.
25:05And then they have Gadsden to maybe not have to play on the line of scrimmage, which would be nice.
25:10You'd rather him playing as a power slot or whatever it may be.
25:14Especially because you don't, they're probably not bringing back Keenan Allen.
25:17Right. Right. So, I mean, you just, you think about like, you know, it should be another McConculus year here, but I think it hurts Gadsden.
25:25He's probably from a high end, tight end too.
25:27Now he's kind of in that 15 to 20 range.
25:30Right. You know, it hurts Gadsden's fantasy value. Probably helps Omari and Hampton the most.
25:35Yes. Right. Yeah. Just being able to run the ball.
25:38Yeah. And you run it back, ride or die part two.
25:41Yeah. And maybe. And Njoku will be, will catch like six touchdowns and just be super annoying because no one will ever
25:47start on the weeks that he does. Barry is ruining the show with a fantasy football talk.
25:52That's what I wanted to say. Look, Barry is so committed that he is going to break down the Chargers tight ends in May on this last show.
26:00So, that's a credit to him. Look, just be sure to pass on all that info to all your Chargers friends in Maryland.
26:07Yeah. At the grocery store. Yeah. Between the produce.
26:09Yeah. Yeah. When you're squeezing the produce, just turn to somebody and say like, no, I think he meant.
26:15He said, yeah, you squeeze the produce. Oh, I don't do that.
26:18Yeah. Yeah. Of course. You know, Denny does though.
26:21I would never. I would never. Denny? I'm married guys.
26:24Come on. Yeah, exactly. Please. It's all. Of course he is.
26:27I haven't squeezed the produce in 10 years. Stop it.
26:30He's a produce squeezer if I ever saw one.
26:32Stop it for me. Thank you, Denny. Thank you, Denny.
26:35You know, he's just sitting there going, I think Keaton Mitchell was an underrated siding.
26:40He's just sitting there doing that. He was around him.
26:43Yeah. Yeah, exactly. Squeezing the produce. Anyway, we appreciate you.
26:45You're probably going to be out for that. Appreciate you, Denny Carter.
26:49Our next guest. Dr. Denny Carter. A deep, deep pull.
26:52Is this a deep cut? Yeah, I'm going to build it up.
26:55We're going to wait a little bit before we actually reveal to it because I think this one will genuinely be a nice surprise to you.
27:03By the way, the chat cannot believe we snuck in football talk.
27:06Well, why not? The people need to know. Yeah.
27:09David and Joku is part of the show. Yeah, why not?
27:12Of course. Yeah. He's a seminal character. I thought one of the things that would make the montage was me walking in
27:18as in Joku with the big, you know, we did our entrances one year.
27:22That was another FCC band. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, we couldn't show that again.
27:26Was that on? That was on pregame. That was on something.
27:29That might be on. Maybe. Who knows? Maybe that's coming up later in the show.
27:34Who knows? Me ruining the show and not looking at the rundown before.
27:38Classic. Right. On brand. All the staples are cashing today.
27:40On brand. Yeah. On brand. All right. This next guest, it's a pretty nice surprise because he hasn't worked on our show
27:47lately, but he was here from the beginning, and that is Penn State Blake.
27:51You saw him in the mashup. Wow. On brand.
27:53On brand, guys. On brand. Good to see you guys.
27:56Wearing the tracksuit. We all went tracksuit today. I'm sort of in a more of a jumpsuit.
28:01You're like in some sort of like burgundy. And mobbed up.
28:04Wine color. Mobbed up tracksuit. Bit pod character in the town.
28:08Yeah. There we go. That's what I was going for.
28:11That's pretty good. That's pretty good. Jay, what he just normally does.
28:14Yes. Whatever they put out there for you. The man that was earliest on Parker Washington.
28:19Penn State Blake. That's not a joke. Number one Parker Washington fan.
28:22He was right. What's up, Blake? I didn't get enough shares in Parker Washington when we were bringing him up, but yeah,
28:28he was one of the greatest Penn State wide receivers I've ever seen.
28:32That's right. Yeah, no, it's great to see you guys.
28:35I'm really happy to be here. First two years of the show.
28:39I mean, so many great memories. I think one of the best memories I had, I wasn't even there, but it was
28:45when you guys were in Philly for the Applebee's show.
28:48And it had to be somewhere between $30 to $50 margaritas on a berries tab, I think, which may be a little bit short.
28:55There were dollaritas, which makes that. Dollaritas, yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
28:58Yeah. I'll never forget being at that Applebee's, Blake, and Matthew turning to me in an ad break after his $6 dollarita
29:04saying, I think I'm in a bit of trouble here.
29:07No. I need some pretzel stick stat. There was also that makeshift Eagles mascot guy that showed up, and it was kind of an eagle.
29:14It was kind of something. I wasn't really sure what was going on, but yeah, that guy was awesome.
29:20So, Penn State, Blake, I have to ask you, first off, since the time that you've left the show and now you've gotten married, so congratulations.
29:27Not yet. Soon. Well, you got a game. Yeah, soon.
29:30Three kids. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right. Another on the way.
29:34But I just want to know, since this is potentially the last show of Fantasy Football Happy Hour, after four years, Penn
29:40State, Blake, will you finally admit that Craig Reynolds is never coming on this show at this point?
29:45I mean, I know we have an hour left.
29:48Maybe he's coming out today. Maybe he's coming out.
29:50Yeah, I mean, you know, he brought it up one time.
29:53He said if he could ever get to Stanford, Connecticut, and then he did go to the Patriots, so he was a
30:00little bit closer than when he was in Detroit.
30:02But yeah, I'm sorry to say I don't think that's happening.
30:06Yeah. It's good that you finally admit that. Yeah.
30:08It was a good try. Yeah. Hey, if it makes you feel better, Penn State, Blake, you are on the Mount Rushmore of Fantasy Football Happy Hour researchers.
30:16For sure. Let's go. For sure. I think it's a short list.
30:20It is. Yeah, we're still looking for the fourth person on the Mount Rushmore.
30:24Yeah, there we go. For sure. There we go.
30:26It's been so long since we've seen you, Blake, that in the time between your last appearance and now your team, the
30:33Philadelphia Eagles, have won a Super Bowl and since become an absolute mess.
30:37You've gone full circle through that experience. It is fun to see that it's schedule day released also today.
30:42And I swear at this point, like, we're on, like, 10 primetime games.
30:46Like, I don't think I'm ever going to see another 1 o'clock game with the Eagles it's honestly very depressing.
30:52Like, I go, got to watch something at Sunday night and then, like, if they lose and I go to bed at, like, 2 a.m., just super upset.
31:00It's very sad. Yeah, but, you know. You play at 1 o'clock every Sunday against the Titans and the Dolphins.
31:05Exactly. It's hard to feel bad for you. I've been hanging my We Beat Boston banner for the last two weeks for the Sixers.
31:12Even though they got swept by the Knicks, you know, we finally got over that Boston hump.
31:17Yeah. There you go. Thank you, fans. Four and seven in the playoffs.
31:21That's right. Blake, great seeing you, man. Great to see you.
31:24Thanks for all your contributions to the show. You're always a fun part of it.
31:29And we miss you in the League of Assholes, where you refuse to draft a quarterback in the two-quarterback league.
31:34I was moving. He was driving to you, I swear.
31:37Thanks, guys. See you, Blake. There you go. Now Rushmore of researchers.
31:41Yeah. Well, the best part was, for a while, he was Blake.
31:44He pulled off something that is very rare. And Scott McClory, Tony Soprano wants his drip back.
31:49It's fair. Penn State Blake pulled off something that I think is very hard to do, which is he gave himself a nickname.
31:56Like, you're not allowed to really give yourself a nickname.
31:59And it's usually like, what are you doing? Did he give himself that name?
32:03He called himself Penn State Blake. Yes. But it really...
32:06It stuck. It works. That's the problem. I know.
32:08So you really didn't want to roll with it because it's a self-given nickname, but it does work.
32:13Because he was trying for a little while. He originally was like Researcher Blake, and then he was like Philly Blake and whatever.
32:20And then he just... One day, he just started calling himself Penn State Blake.
32:24And it somehow stuck. And it worked. Did you not do the same thing with Mr.
32:29Roto bit? I guess people don't call you that.
32:31I did. I did. But like... That's why we didn't call you it.
32:35That's right. And it was a column title. Like, it was the name of my column.
32:40It wasn't like anyone I said like, you know, hey, Connor.
32:43Hey, talented Mr. Roto. Like, no one ever says that.
32:46I certainly hope they never said that. No, no, no.
32:49I will say there are still friends of mine to this day that will be like, hey, TMR.
32:54Like, I have people that... There are people in my life that will call me TMR.
32:59But like, not... Anyway. Let's continue on the journey of Mount Rushmore of our researchers.
33:03Speaking of great and great nicknames. Yeah. And great nicknames.
33:06Let's bring in Big Show. Wow. From the car.
33:08From a vehicle. From the car. Wow. Very celebrity-like.
33:11Well, too many things going on. Got to take it from the car.
33:15Well, Big Show... One of the things Big Show does is he does NASCAR resources.
33:19So this is... Oh, very fitting. This is very fitting.
33:22He's in the car. He's in the car. Are you actually in traffic right now, Big Show?
33:27No, I'm in a parking lot right now. Nice.
33:30With a safe belt on. That's right. You never know.
33:32Dangerous ones around the corner. Safety first. Safety first.
33:35I like that. Oh, Big Show. Good to see you.
33:38You too, guys. Only you can pull off an entrance like that, I must say.
33:42Unbelievable. I do my best. Yeah. We were nervous when Blake left the show.
33:46We were. But you quickly asserted yourself that you would fill in the role just fine.
33:51Yeah. Big Show. Yeah, and I didn't go to a Big Ten school.
33:55I'm no Penn State guy. You know? Yeah. I went to a little Curry College, Division III school outside of Boston.
34:01Um. What? You got nothing for me? No. Some man Chuck says Big Show calling up to being stopped for speeding.
34:07I could believe that as well. You are a Patriots fan.
34:10Big Show, any thoughts about the offseason for the Patriots?
34:13Been interesting to say the least. Are we talking on the field moves or off the field moves?
34:18Very PC answer from Big Show. I'm leaving the question open-ended, Big Show.
34:22It's up to you. Well, I'll put it this way.
34:25We still have a head coach. And I'm glad he's still there.
34:28But, well, there we go. Get myself back in the frame here.
34:32Yeah. Other than that, you know, because I also work in the business.
34:35I don't want to say anything that could get me fired.
34:39So, I say let the, let it play out.
34:41And we'll be fans of the, of the story.
34:44But, yeah, I'm still glad Coach is there. And it's, hopefully we can have another Super Bowl run this year.
34:50But that schedule is going to be a little tough for the, for the Patriots.
34:54They had quite an easy one last year. I'm, I fully admit that was a cakewalk.
34:59Listen, Big Show, I just want to say, look, we loved having you on the show.
35:03You were a great sport. It was always, you know, there is, there is legitimately a Big Show fan base that would,
35:10that would ask, when I would go to parties, people would ask me about Big Show.
35:14And I would ask, even if the show, you know, even as we head into the off season, and I miss this,
35:21like, just when random celebrities die, will you still text me, please?
35:24That's going to be my, my, I miss that.
35:27I miss that from you. Will you do that?
35:29Absolutely. Thank you, my brother. Thank you, my brother.
35:32I appreciate you. See you, Big Show. Thank you, Big Show.
35:35We love you, Big Show. We'll see you. What a great demonstration of safety.
35:39On a national platform. To be wearing a seatbelt in a small station in a car park.
35:44Unbelievable. Great work for Big Show. To give a story of Big Show reporting deaths, the one notable one to me that
35:50comes to mind, because it was in person, we do the show, I get off the desk, take the mic off, didn't even step off the stage.
35:58And Big Show comes up to me and he's like, ah.
36:01He's like, Bob Barker had a good run. And I'm like, Bob Barker died?
36:05And he's like, yeah, he had a good run.
36:08And I'm just like, this is one way to find out if Bob Barker's dead.
36:12In fairness to Big Show, he did have a good run.
36:16I mean. 99 years old? I mean, honestly, legend.
36:18Happy Madison. Price is right. I mean, done it all.
36:21Yeah, yeah. Saved a lot of dogs from being neutered.
36:24Or maybe he got them neutered. What was it?
36:27Yeah, I don't know the order of operations. Spare Dinger, your dog.
36:30I think he was pro-neutering, right? He was leading the charge.
36:33Yeah. So maybe he wasn't as successful as I thought.
36:36But we'll be back, at least for another segment.
36:39In theory. Wait, what are they going to do?
36:41Cancel us now? Seriously, which one is which? On the real Matthew Barry.
36:45Ladies just been coming up to you left and right, just throwing their numbers at you?
36:50Yeah, without a doubt. Yeah. 100%. It's a good look.
36:53It's a good look as well. There you go.
36:55Can he talk through that thing? That's actually A.J.
36:58Brown. That's A.J. Brown. Hey, guys. Bill. Hey, Bill.
37:00What's up, Bill? Bill. Bill. Bill. Not even close.
37:03Sorry. Sorry. I'm two and a half, but Dollarita's in.
37:06I'm taking the under here for Travis. Kelsey, on the receptions again.
37:09I.J., he built this up. Why do you hate freedom, Matthew?
37:13America's part of the show. America is part of the show.
37:16It's America's show. It is America's show, even though we have an Australian.
37:19Yeah. Let me try to at least hit some rim.
37:22I get two. I'm going to the lane. I'm going to the line.
37:26You did get fouled. Yeah. 9.1 yards per pass attempt.
37:29And oh, by the way. Wow. Get some water and get some.
37:32Yeah. And they allow 9.1 yards per pass attempt.
37:35Second most of the NFL since week two. And oh, by the way, now they've got a face.
37:40Jackson, Smith, and Jigba. Oh, well. Yeah. Glug glug.
37:43What? Don't you do it like me and Lawrence are doing it?
37:46No. You actually flip the cup. No, you flip it so it lands like that.
37:51Yeah. This is off to a record start. These guys have never played.
37:54We do it differently. I don't know about this.
37:57So on the count of three. Go. All right.
38:00Mine's down. There we go. 1, 2, 3. Matthew, 3.
38:03I already did that. I thought we had to land it on top, though.
38:07No. So I kept on doing it. You could have never played flip cup.
38:11They actually won. Champagne, J. American. Nah, I think we had it the right way.
38:15We had it the wrong way. We had it the right way.
38:18The worst flip cup in the history. How bad was that, man?
38:22That was brutal. That was so awful. What are you talking about?
38:25Hey, Gemma, 89. J is so washed. J is so washed.
38:29There we go. Nah, nah, nah. I have college-age kids.
38:31The truth has been spoken. J has like, you know, five-year-olds.
38:353, 2, 1, go. Wait. No, no, no. What are you doing?
38:38I will count in. 3, 2, 1, go. I'm keeping up.
38:41I'm keeping up with you guys. Yeah, thank you.
38:44Kind of a diamond and orange. It was surprising that he was so close to us.
38:49Yeah, yeah. I like that. I'm keeping up with you guys.
38:52I was all excited. That's why we had you grab the mic for the commentary.
38:56Have you ever pondered what the storyline would be for Croc 4?
39:00For Croc 4, yeah. It's, yeah, J goes back to Australia.
39:03J-Gun goes back to Australia. And, you know, he gets lost in the wilderness.
39:07And there's an alligator about to eat him. And then, you know, the actual crocodile, he comes in and, like, does whatever it was he does.
39:14That talks to the animals and, you know, saves Jay.
39:17And then the two of them go on a swashbuckling adventure where they teach the aborigines how to gamble.
39:23I can drink. I could drink a 20-pack of beer and I feel nothing.
39:27I don't know what it is. I'm dead serious.
39:29Just beer does not get me drunk. But, like, Pinot Grigio will mess me up.
39:34So if I'm going to get it. That wine ain't going to do you.
39:38I'm just telling. Like, it goes down easy and, like, it gets you going.
39:42And so just if you're in a mood to, like, hey, I'd like to get a little buzz here.
39:47Beer just doesn't do anything for me. Unbelievable. I'm impervious to alcohol when it comes in the form of beer.
39:53Impervious. It's a completely insane stance to take. It's true, though.
39:56I'm just telling you it's true. It's science. Down, up, down.
39:59Oh, there's wind. The wind is outrageous. Oh, that counts.
40:02No, it doesn't. Who did it? The man with the neck collar.
40:06We got Jay Croucher right here. That's still going.
40:08Jay Croucher. Jay Croucher. Jay Croucher cheated. Well done, Jay.
40:11All right, man. You lost. Don't keep doing it.
40:14No, stop. Stop now. There you go. If you're wondering why Jay is staring off camera the whole time, he's looking at
40:20the tiny TV with the Colts came on. It's not that tiny a TV, but you're absolutely right.
40:25You have three young children at home. Sure. If the Colts lose.
40:29That's my question. If the Colts lose, the amount of money you have on the Colts to, if they lose, will you
40:35have to sell one of your children? I'll tell you this.
40:38If the Colts lose for the shoe, we won't have any shoes left in the house.
40:43We'll be selling the shoes. With, as we see Tyler Warren keep the game alive here.
40:48Thought he was going to drop that. I'm streaming the game and it's delayed a few minutes.
40:53Please stop killing the game for me by reacting, Jay.
40:55And look, this is what he does. He's the ruiner.
40:58Just everything. Taylor. Jonathan Taylor. Jonathan Taylor, by the way, 218 yards.
41:02He scores for the third touchdown. He's got his third touchdown.
41:05He's got his third touchdown. Is that his third touchdown?
41:08Third touchdown. Give him the MVP. Some of the worst flip cup I've ever witnessed in my life.
41:13On multiple occasions. It's so brutal. It got worse.
41:16The conditions in the outdoor one, I'll give you that.
41:19Yeah. The four of you in the studio. But, yeah.
41:22Are we ready to talk about Matthew Sunglasses in Pittsburgh looking like Junior Soprano?
41:26What was that? I mean, I'm ready to discuss.
41:28Yeah. What the hell was that? Those definitely were not yours.
41:31No. That's exactly right. Yeah. I mean, I had forgotten sunglasses.
41:35And so, yes. They were giving to me. It's like someone's grandpa got out of the nursing home and just showed up on the NBC.
41:42Junior Soprano. Yeah. I got to get that kind of thing going.
41:45Yeah. Junior Soprano. I am surprised the Diet Coke clip did not make it.
41:49Make the cut. Well, the Spilller. Well, you've actually spilled on Fantasy Bowl pregame and on Fantasy Bowl.
41:54Yeah. I've spilled many places. CJ Spillow. Yeah. I am CJ Spillow.
41:58That's right. The Runer. The Runer. The Runler. Exactly.
42:01And the Lurer thing. There's so much. Yes. So much that we.
42:04Well, the excuse Lurer was an all-timey. The excuse Lurer.
42:07Unbelievable. We got the Brown Gobbler in that. The Brown Gobbler.
42:10So I wish we could keep that going. A lot of good times.
42:14Yes. Some of the best times as well when the substitute teacher ran the show.
42:18Backup producer Pete days were always fun. And the chat knew within three minutes if it was a backup producer Pete day.
42:25So for one more rodeo, backup producer Pete is here.
42:27Yeah. Come on up. There you go. He is.
42:30Backup producer Pete in uniform. In full uniform wearing the Mets hat, of course.
42:34Well done. Mets. 17 and 25, baby. That's right.
42:37Two in a row. Don't slip on us. There we go.
42:40You got a speech here? That's a winning streak.
42:43Yeah. No, no. I brought a prop. This is my most thrown under the bus backup producer Pete.
42:48Steven pitched this show to me. He said, oh, well, we're thinking who could we have on the show?
42:53And, oh, we got to have Pete. I was like, oh, wow, that's really nice of you.
42:58And then he's like, because, like, no one's been ripped more than you on the show.
43:03I was like, okay, well, that's the reason. Yeah.
43:05This is true. But by the way, you coming with these two props is the most prepared you've ever been for this show.
43:12That's true. That's true. In four years. That's a good point.
43:15The reason they knew in the first three minutes of the Pete show is because it started three minutes late.
43:21Yeah. Yeah, there you go. It's also fair. Yes.
43:24Also fair. The enduring images of the teacher wheeling in the TV and starting on VHS, Dead Poets Society goes in and then we start Tuesdays with Pete.
43:32Correct. Correct. Correct. Exactly. Pete, I have to tell you, the one thing that I will give Pete, we always had so
43:38much fun on the shows that you produced. You were really great.
43:42No, no, no. But Pete, despite the fact that your real job is you produce Sunday Night Football, you do Simps on
43:48Button, you do a lot of different things here at the network, but you are a very good fantasy player.
43:54You are a multi-time, you are a multi-year champion of the League of Assholes.
43:58You've won the Football League, you've won the Basketball League.
44:01You are truly a force to be reckoned with.
44:03Which you need to remind my home league that I've been in the longest, which I have not won since the George Bush administration.
44:10So all my friends who think that like, oh, well, you know, you work in sports.
44:15You work in sports, yeah. How do you not win this league every year?
44:19Well, I'm too busy winning other leagues, like the happy hour leagues.
44:22Yeah, and ignoring your children. Exactly. But you keep the group chat vibes extremely high.
44:27Yeah, you're good. You're good on the group chat.
44:29I've got to give you credit. You're a good texter.
44:32I'm coming hard. I've got my priorities, you know.
44:35Group chat first, kids second. And then, yeah. That's how it should be.
44:38Hey, did you take the kids to school? No, I'm going to waivers right now.
44:43I'm going to waivers right now. I've got to pick up facial toot.
44:47That's what we're trying to get Joe Flacco. All right.
44:49All right, we're back after this. Stuntman Chuck here.
44:52And I want to say, more than the football analysis, I'm going to miss the off-topic rants, drinking Diet Coke, getting loopy
44:58on Robitussin, bad movie takes, finding Nemo pitches, long-form storytelling, all the thrills, all the spills.
45:03So to Connor, Lawrence, Jay, and Matthew, so long.
45:06Until next time, the crown is yours. Peace out.
45:08Raise the flags here at Bucca, 2026, ride or die.
45:11Hope everybody has a great summer. I know I've been very busy.
45:15I got a little LJ on the way. And I asked my wife what we're doing for dinner tonight.
45:20And she said, likely eating out. So peace out.
45:23Have a good one. It's finals week and it's time to present my happy hour thesis.
45:27Watching the show is like watching a Chris Jones 40.
45:30Our wardrobe is questionable. We're not the fastest. We've got tons of jiggling going on.
45:35We're about halfway through when you least expect it.
45:37Something magical might pop out. Something large, girthy, and unexpected.
45:40Meanwhile, Alexa's in the back wondering if NBC is going to get fined.
45:44We collectively belly flop, bounce back to our feet, and laugh together.
45:47And that's where I want to pivot. Because whether you're having the best of days, worst of days, you're in perfect health,
45:54or you're undergoing life-saving treatment, tuning into this show is completely awesome.
45:57You guys bring the fantasy knowledge, but more specifically, you bring the laughs and the joy.
46:02So for me, that's perfection. Whatever happens next, we'll find Danimo and to the entire happy hour crew, all the best to you and your family.
46:09This show is absolutely incredible. Thank you so much, guys.
46:12Hey, everyone. It's Valiant Vincent, and I'm here from the fantasy football happy hour desk.
46:17Well, not really, but this is the best I could do.
46:20I just wanted to say how much I enjoy being a part of this community, how much I've enjoyed the show in
46:26this past year and in the past couple of years, getting able to interact with the chat, be part of the community.
46:32I've made some friendships here that I think are really going to last the rest of my life.
46:38I really do appreciate all of you so much, and it's an honor for me personally to be the admin of the
46:44fantasy football happy hour discord, where we have the additional conversations and everything.
46:48Being part of the community and feeling like I'm involved with the show has been one of the greatest things that I've
46:54ever experienced fantasy football-wise in my life. I really appreciate it so much, and I'm really, really proud to call myself a regular.
47:01Excellent work from the regulars. Love every bit of the videos, everything we've heard back.
47:05That was awesome. Thank you very much. Valiant Vincent with the excellent set backdrop.
47:09That's exactly. That's the best all four of us have ever looked together, by the way.
47:14Unbelievable. Sure just blew away in the wind. Yeah, raise the flag.
47:17Stuntman Chuck, Medici, Jonathan Medici, Valiant Vincent. And I highly recommend joining the Discord if you haven't.
47:22I'm going to try to pop in every Thursday at noon, noon Eastern, during the offseason here into the Discord.
47:28I recommend you guys doing it well. It's very fun.
47:31A lot of Diet Coke memes. I'm sure. They brought themselves.
47:34Yeah, of course. There it is. Too easy. There you go.
47:37Lawrence Jackson joining the desk. What's up, my friend?
47:40Man, thank you for having me today. And, you know, every other day I've been part of this show.
47:45Man, it's been a pleasure to contribute here and get on air with you boys.
47:50This, for me, was different because this was my first opportunity on air.
47:53So it was like, oh, damn, they really going to they really letting me get away with this.
47:59But then, you know, as the shows go on, we built the camaraderie.
48:02We all end up at Connors wedding. So things like that, like the regulars were saying, it's become more than just, you know, like spitting out fantasy advice.
48:10Just like the camaraderie of the guys and then the guys and gals who are regulars.
48:15So, man, it's been an honor to get on with y'all boys, man.
48:19Yeah. I also just want the record to show that the highest rated show, the highest rated episode of the show ever was NBC.
48:26For some reason, re-running me and Lawrence, just the two of us after the New Year's Eve show with like Miley Cyrus or something.
48:33So me and Lawrence, the two of us, highest rated episode ever.
48:36There you go. Season one, I think. That's on brand for the entire show as well.
48:41And, you know, Lawrence, you're saying, I can't believe they're letting me get away with this.
48:45I felt like that's the entire time for all of us that they, you know, I can't believe they pay us to do this.
48:52So, yeah, it's been awesome. And we'll, so we're keeping the show going actually after the, we have to end it at
48:59the end of the hour for Peacock, but we'll do a special half hour.
49:03There's an after hours, if you will, that will live on YouTube and the podcast.
49:07And so, and we'll do a Q&A with all the questions in the chat.
49:11But, yeah, it's been awesome, man. Like, I love this show.
49:14And like I said, I'm very hopeful that we get to do this again.
49:18Yep, absolutely. And for me, it's the main thing is that it's never felt like a job remotely.
49:24It's never felt like work. It's just felt like coming in and, you know, just talking to friends about football.
49:29And also, like, the feedback that we get, you know, from the regulars and just from everyone else, like people who come
49:36up to me when I'm at an airport or at my kid's gymnastics lesson.
49:40Like, that means a ton. Because, you know, we drive in here, sit at the desk, talk about football, drive home.
49:46It just kind of exists in its own world for me.
49:49And so when people actually, you know, come up and talk to me, that, you know, they're actually watching the show and
49:55listening to the show, it means a ton. Yeah, I echo that as well.
50:00I think the most important thing you should do in life, and if you can at work, it's amazing, is laugh.
50:06And what I loved about this show is I could never predict what we were going to laugh about each day.
50:12I just knew we were going to laugh each day.
50:15And then when we had the chat this year, our fourth season, I realized everybody felt like they were laughing with us.
50:21Yeah, for sure. And that made it feel particularly special.
50:24So I've enjoyed being a small part of that every single episode.
50:27It's all been awesome. I can't tell you how many times I'll be at home sitting on the couch, and I'll laugh,
50:34and my wife will be like, what? And I'd like, it's the happy hour group chat.
50:38Like, our group chat is, and to, you know, Pete is a good contributor there as well, but everyone kind of chimes in as well.
50:46And I agree with you. Like, the fans have just made it so great this year, all the regulars as well.
50:52And so that's, I'm excited about the Discord. Thank you, Valiant Vincent, for doing that.
50:56And by the way, we get to be on camera, but it is a true cast of thousands that brings you this
51:02show over the last four years, Connor. Yeah, a long list of names here, but a thank you to everybody on this
51:09graphic, from everybody working on the show, behind the scenes, producing the show, to our makeup staff, to our wardrobe staff.
51:15It's a, as you see, a lot of people to make this show what it is, and a massive thank you to
51:21each and every one of them for helping us for every single episode.
51:25I normally say it's closing time and you don't have to go home, but you can't stay here.
51:30But stay here, because after this, we've got another half hour.
51:33It's after hours on the happy hour. We'll be right back.
51:36It is noon on Monday on Peacock, but it is 5 o'clock somewhere, possibly in Phoenix, Arizona, where the Super Bowl is,
51:43and where a party is happening at the media center, in the convention center in downtown Phoenix.
51:48See, doesn't this look like a party? It's very early in the morning.
51:51He's Jay Croucher. I'm Matthew Berry. We are live from the Super Bowl.
51:55It's very exciting. I've been here before. I know this is your first time.
51:59It's not my first time. I don't want to brag, but I've already been booked on the Ithaca College sports podcast.
52:05We were watching the NFL Honors last night, and we were kind of just marveling at the crispness of the man bun.
52:12Thank you. I just want to know, because I had a man bun briefly in my younger youth in Australia, and it just didn't work at all.
52:20It was like a half Asian Australian kind of, it was like Val Kilmer in heat, but like bad, like a really bad Val Kilmer in heat.
52:27I don't know if that could be bad. Well, I made it bad.
52:31I did my job. I know that you're wearing the big hat, your big hat, Brian Robinson.
52:36I have my own big hat here. I was inspired.
52:39Do you have a piece of this company, by the way?
52:42Because the big hat thing happened entirely because of you wearing in the postgame.
52:46No one had seen a big hat, and then you were all over the internet.
52:50You went viral with it. Please tell me you have a piece of this company.
52:55Bro, I haven't heard nothing from them. Well, I feel very naked and silly without my own big hat, which is a
53:01strange thing to feel silly by not wearing a big hat, but there we go.
53:05Thank you, Brian. He can't wear my hat. Look at that.
53:09There you go. I got to keep doing that.
53:11Aiden, I don't know if you remember this, but you and I met once before.
53:16I interviewed you at the NFL Rookie Premier, and you told me you were a good juggler.
53:21I asked you to juggle something. I asked you to juggle little mini helmets, which you ended up doing and would be used on Sunday Night Football.
53:28So I wanted to see how we doing. Yeah, back up.
53:32Yeah, do whatever you got to do. Make a mess with our bounty.
53:35Oh, look at that. Very impressive. No messes at all.
53:38We don't need to use the bounty at all.
53:41I want to show you. This is a picture from yesterday.
53:44Steven, go ahead and show the picture from yesterday if you can.
53:47So this was great. This is me and you, Jay Croucher, and, of course, Emmett Smith.
53:52Yes, the juror. The greatest running back of all time.
53:55I can see where this is going. That's the picture we took.
53:58So it was a wonderful interview, the three of us.
54:01It's a really nice picture. It's really great. But if you went to Jay's Instagram, this is what was posted.
54:07Oh, my goodness. Oh, my goodness. I actually did not see this.
54:11Crop City, baby. He said to me, jokingly, he's like, should I post this?
54:15And I laughed. I didn't think he actually was going to prop us.
54:18He cut you and I both out of it.
54:21It's just him and Emmett Smith as if he interviewed Emmett Smith by himself.
54:25Or like they're friends. Like old friends. Yeah. Me and my boy Emmett.
54:29Emmett came by. Emmett looks so comfortable that it's like they're just hanging out.
54:33Yeah. It's like it's just outright. You want to know what else?
54:36What else? Yeah, what else? I've been doing that all week, baby.
54:40You haven't noticed. A lot of photos of me and my boy Matt Ryan.
54:44Just the two of us. I noticed that. Me and Max.
54:47Saquon. I noticed you and Max. I noticed you and Saquon.
54:50You noticed something today? What? Well, I was having some coffee.
54:53You were talking to someone. Yeah. And Jay was in that chair nine minutes before show.
54:58And I was like, wow, Jay really wants to get to the desk and get ready.
55:03He clearly takes that seat for a reason. This is all orchestrated.
55:06I want to fly like an eagle. Don't hurt yourself now.
55:09To the sea. Fly like an eagle. Let the spirit carry me.
55:13I want to fly. Easy, easy. Fly right into the future.
55:16I want to feed the babies. All right. All right.
55:19Hey, I ain't seen it. This is it. Scale of 110.
55:22Seal, what are we talking about here? Don't hurt yourself.
55:25I hurt myself. Ask me one on football. Ask me another girl.
55:28Hey, see what you're going to do me like that?
55:31So Trevor, Traveler, we'd like you to do our celebrity pong shot here.
55:35One shot, huh? You got one shot here. I'm sure you played a little beer pong at Clemson in your day?
55:41No. Never. First time. That is why he's one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.
55:46Oh, yeah. There we go. Hang on. Wait, wait.
55:48Hang on. Let me roll on this in case you nail it.
55:52All right. Go ahead. They're rolling on it. Oh, let's go.
55:55Come on. Easy, man. So I have a dad bod.
55:58I'm not a good athlete as well. But is there a UFC move that you could, is there like an MMA move
56:04that you could teach somebody like me? Like, is there like one, or is it just all like you have to actually be like a very good athlete?
56:12Is there like one simple move that you could teach like, oh, yeah.
56:16Like, all right, let's teach me. Will you teach me?
56:19Yeah. All right. Yeah, right now. How do we do this?
56:22This is a real neck and choke. So you face this.
56:25Rear neck and choke. Rear neck and choke. Yeah.
56:28Blade of this bone. Yeah. Yep. Go here, put my bicep.
56:31Oh, no. And now I squeeze my elbow. Oh, yeah.
56:34Oh! Oh, no, no. I'm tapping on it. That's amazing.
56:37Unbelievable. Oh, yeah. Let me do it. Let's do a step up.
56:40All right. Dustin's getting amazing. Keep the blade on his neck.
56:44This is terrifying. Oh, my God. Fold this hand behind his neck.
56:47This feels like Dustin Boreal. Oh, my God. Put it behind his head.
56:51Push his head forward and pull your elbow. Oh, yeah.
56:54Oh, that's a good one. That's awesome. Yeah, wow.
56:56All right. Fantastic. I'm glad that was Matthew Barry, not Dustin Poirier doing that on me.
57:01Unbelievable. He's my best friend now. Yeah. Okay. That was remarkable content.
57:04Terrifying content, but remarkable content. You know, out of the choke.
57:08He's a radio. Oh. Radio Rose has always been awesome.
57:10We've gotten some great guests and played along a lot in a big way.
57:15I mean, Emmett going along with our whole leave a man behind in Vegas.
57:19Amazing. Yep. Charles Ben Johnson, Jay, and a man bun is nightmare fuel.
57:22I agree. That's why I don't have a nightmare fuel.
57:25We should have gotten a picture of that. I'm about to say, what did that look like?
57:30How did we not get a picture of that?
57:33Very briefly. Oh, wow. Very briefly. Yeah. Maybe we got two nuts.
57:36How old were you when you were doing that?
57:3918. Oh, okay. You was like 27. Ryan Diamond said, Croucher bun looks bad.
57:43Minus 500. Yeah, that's true. I'd back that. Yeah, yeah.
57:46That's why we're short-lipped. Him just walking to school with kangaroos around him, you know, the man bun, the whole thing, yeah.
57:52Takes him away. Yeah, exactly. Takes him in check.
57:55Makes sense. Watching the Radio Row segments back actually made me think of a time not Radio Row, but when we went to Vegas.
58:02Yes. That was when I was like, I don't know, this is going to be hard to carry on the show this long.
58:08Yeah. We were wounded soldiers on that set. We were indeed.
58:11Like, we, it was, the show, I think, the show aired at whatever, was it 9am?
58:16I feel like we were earlier than noon that year.
58:19It was the first year. I can't remember. We went to Vegas and we just went out the, um, uh, we went out every night.
58:26We enjoyed Vegas and then we rolled into, uh, pretty much in one motion.
58:30Right. Rolled into it. Not much bed in between.
58:33Yeah. I vividly remember, uh, waiting, um, at the exit, uh, of our hotel with Connor in the morning about to, you
58:39know, take an Uber to our set or whatever.
58:42And then we see you coming in a little late and, uh, you trying to get down the escalator.
58:47Never forget it. It almost didn't make it. It was a bit of a stumble at the top and at the bottom.
58:54I had a, that was a night where I did not have beer.
58:57I definitely had a lot of Pinot Grigios, I think.
59:00Aloha, Bricks. Uh, LJ would get zero chair turns on the voice.
59:04I'm sorry. Yeah. But the point is you had the confidence.
59:07You had the confidence to sing in front of Seal.
59:10Yeah. I mean, look, I was, look, you, you miss 100% of the shots you don't take.
59:15I was trying to get off of this show.
59:17I'm trying to get a record deal. Yeah. I got Seal right there.
59:21I'm like, hey, here we go. Like Eminem, you only get one shot.
59:25Yeah. Not this your chance to blow. Debo Samuel didn't know what the hell was going on.
59:30No. He was kind of just there. I know that feeling sometimes.
59:33Yeah. His laugh was like, damn, I'm like, I'm a professional football player sitting here.
59:38I probably should laugh. So let me at least grin and then let out a little.
59:42And that's kind of what you, that's kind of what Debo was feeling in that situation.
59:47I feel like that's the attitude of a lot of guests that come on our show.
59:52Just sort of like. Where's this going to go?
59:54Where's this going to go? What am I doing?
59:57What did I sign up for? Like, man, this brand isn't paying me enough to do this.
60:02Besides Rob Riggle. Right. He became the show. Yeah.
60:04Yeah. He had the full on Army gear. He's promoting a golf brand.
60:08My best interview ever. And it will be stored somewhere in the deep archives of YouTube.
60:13But it's Chris Johnson, CJ2K at the Super Bowl, I think in Vegas, coming on.
60:17And so, you know, we get handed like a sheet of like, who's the sponsor that you're promoting?
60:22Yeah, yeah. And so I get handed the sheet saying Airbnb.
60:25And so I was like, hey, Chris, can you tell us about your partnership with Airbnb?
60:30And he's like, I don't have a partnership with Airbnb.
60:33I just have a house in Nashville. Everyone should join.
60:36Everyone should rent my Airbnb. I like that. Oh, okay.
60:39I like, you can promote my Airbnb. He's literally promoting his own Airbnb.
60:42Yeah. Yeah. It's unbelievable. I got some Titan stuff in there.
60:46Yeah. I think it was pretty cool, though. It was great.
60:49I'll tell you, Ron, for 2,000 yards in the NFL.
60:52Yep. That's right. CJ2K. Yeah, I had forgotten about that as well.
60:55Everyone played along with the beer pong. That was a ton of fun.
60:59And the Vegas trip was great. I remember just all the different stops that we made, especially specifically with Fantasy Football pregame.
61:05Yeah. It was always fun. The fans always came out.
61:08We were able to do them at the Applebee's.
61:11Awesome show in Houston that I remember very fondly.
61:13Yeah. Houston was fun. Houston was great. Philly was good.
61:16Yeah. Philly was amazing. Pittsburgh. Yeah. Steelers security guard issue.
61:19Yeah. Oh, my God. I thought that would make a clip.
61:22Yeah. That security guard. That and these two. Lawrence and Jay were with me that night.
61:27That guy. You're very upset. Ryan Oswald, escalators are new technology for Barry.
61:31That's really good, Ryan. I mean, you know, when I was born, they weren't around.
61:35I was born, they weren't around. The Finding Nemo pitch.
61:38Yeah. The Finding Nemo pitch. That happened like three different times.
61:41And you told the whole thing. Errol died. Damn right.
61:44Damn right I did. I know Aloha Bricks is sick, by the way.
61:48So he wasn't able to send in a video.
61:50But I do got to give a shout out to Aloha Bricks.
61:54He's been there like every single day, you know.
61:57So. Was he our regular of the year? Yeah.
61:59I think he was regular of the year. He beat up Medici.
62:03Yeah. For sure. Valiant Vincent. When do we get the full pitch for Finding Nemo 3 Barry's flooded basement?
62:08Oh. Yeah. I was thinking of Aloha Bricks. We have a statement.
62:12Yeah. Nice statement. Aloha, everybody. A message from Aloha Bricks.
62:14First off, I would like to thank the regulars.
62:17We are all the regular of the year award winners.
62:20I raised my glass to you, and it's been a great journey and year with you folks.
62:25I can't wait until our fantasy leagues next year.
62:27If anybody wants to join our leagues next year, my email is alohabricks74 at gmail.com.
62:32To the producers, staff, and camera crew, we don't see every day you're the heart and soul of the show.
62:38We all appreciate your hard work and effort you dedicate to this great show.
62:42So a big mahalo to everybody behind the scenes.
62:44Definitely a big mahalo to everyone behind the scenes.
62:47Oh, there's more. Oh, we got a part two here from Aloha Bricks.
62:51He is not done. It's like my Finding Nemo pitch.
62:53It keeps going on. Yes. This one will get picked up.
62:57Finally, to Barry, Connor, Jay, LJ, and George. I want to say you folks are not only great fantasy analysts, but even greater people.
63:04Mahalo for showing everybody in the chat that Aloha and great mana spirit we talk about in Hawaii.
63:09Every morning was worth waking up and watching this great show.
63:12It would always be the highlight of my day.
63:15This show has brought great joy to me. Thank you.
63:17We are not done just yet. Hold on now.
63:20Hold on. Oh, my goodness. If any of you are ever on the big island, please don't hesitate to reach out.
63:26And I will always make time to show you around the island or have a meal.
63:31You are all now my ohana. Hui ho. Is that right?
63:34Hui hoa. Until we meet again for now, but not forever.
63:37Aloha, Josiah, a.k.a. At Aloha Bricks. Well, we've had a good idea.
63:41Now, Lane, Josiah. Okay. Wow. That's regular at the year level.
63:44Yeah. What a great name reveal at the end.
63:46Yes. Like Homer J. Simpson. Yeah. Kate Gemma said Aloha wrote Finding Nemo 4.
63:50It did go on for a while. It was good, though.
63:54But it was on brand. On brand for the show.
63:57Well, you learn from the best. Yeah, of course.
63:59There you go. Now, Aloha Bricks, though. For Aloha Bricks, though, I got to say, a lot of people say, hey, if
64:05you ever in my city, you know, hit me up.
64:08Da-da-da-da. If I'm there, I'm going to do it for real.
64:12Yeah. So, you know, hook me up. Free drinks.
64:14Free food. Free everything. You know what I'm saying?
64:17Right. Cut to Lawrence living with Aloha Bricks for six months.
64:20Like, can I crash at your place? You know, six months later, he's still there.
64:24Just hanging out. Aloha Bricks might have to figure it out living in Hawaii.
64:28Seems like a good play. Not bad. Not bad.
64:31Every time I go to Hawaii, I'm just like, this is awesome.
64:34But I like that Aloha Bricks was like, hey, do you want to be in our, you know, if anyone wants to
64:41play in a league with all the regulars, shout out.
64:44And I think there's, I know there's at least, I know there's multiple leagues already playing for this year.
64:49Two are fully filled. Yeah. And so I'm sure they'll do more.
64:53I'll also say this. Like, we haven't even talked about this, but I feel like the League of Assholes has to continue regardless of anything.
65:00It would be a shame. The League of Assholes has to continue.
65:03I'm very doubt. I will. Yes, we will do that.
65:06With the team I had last year and could not win, you damn straight, I want to be back.
65:12I got to go back for that draft. Six running backs in a row.
65:16We will be back. To be fair, that worked out exactly how you would think it worked out.
65:21Where your running backs were awesome, and you lost because you had Bryce Young and Michael Penix as your quarterbacks.
65:27I had, what's his name? The hair guy with the musk.
65:30Gardner Minshew. That's who I had in the playoffs.
65:33The hair guy with the musk. The hair guy with the mustache.
65:36I drew a blank for a second. That's who I lost the Roto Pat to.
65:40Replaced by Chris Oludokin. Yeah. That's a good pull.
65:43Yeah. Oludokin. I will say that one of the things that's always impressed me, Jay, whenever I'm on air with you, is just your recall.
65:50The name pulls. The name pulls. The recall. The 90s NBA references.
65:54The obscure movies. The obscure movies. Again, buried by Ryan Reynolds.
65:57It's unbelievable. It's funny. It's watching the first clip that we rolled with the highlights because I think I do have a
66:03good memory, but it goes to show how much stuff that we've done on this show that I have no memory whatsoever of interviewing A.J.
66:10Brown. A.J. Brown is an absolute superstar, but we've done so much stuff over the past four years.
66:16Yeah. You could probably name the movies we debated and the random bits like your movie scripts, but the superstars we talked to, yeah.
66:23Yeah. The fact you've never seen Star Wars, which is still outrageous to me.
66:27No. I think during paternity, though, instead of watching Star Wars for the first time, I'm going to re-watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
66:34Oh, wow. Just to kind of reinforce the point, I have the time, but I'd rather watch movies I've already seen.
66:40What would you rather watch? Because I haven't seen Star Wars either.
66:43Would you rather watch Star Wars for the first time or Goodfellas 3?
66:47I'm sorry. The Godfather 3. Godfather 3. I would give Star Wars a chance.
66:51Godfather 3. It was a tough watch one time.
66:54Yes, sir. Even I have a draw line in the sand.
66:57Yeah. To be fair, though, it's mainly bad because it's held in comparison to Godfather 1 and 2.
67:02It's a fairly standard film. Yeah. Otherwise. That's what I always say about Croc 3.
67:07Yeah, exactly. It's just because it doesn't hold up to 1 and 2.
67:10Croc 1 and Croc 2. Yeah. I will say with Star Wars, there's obviously films often, but there's six principal movies, and
67:17I would say that four of them are bad.
67:19Basically, there's two good ones. Yeah. Which is certainly Empire Strikes Back, and then it depends on your temperature.
67:25Return of the Jedi and A New Hope, A New Hope, which is terrible for the first 30 minutes.
67:30This is just robots walking around in the desert.
67:33But the prequels are bad. Phantom Menace is a bad movie.
67:36The prequels were bad. A lot of politics. It's just no more written.
67:40Yeah. It's just like, it's just like, yeah. Who wrote this?
67:43Yeah. And the, God, why am I blanking on the, who is like supposed to be the.
67:48It's Gardner Minshew. No. The guy with the mustache and the hair.
67:51No, who's the big. Jabba the Hutt? No, not Jabba the Hutt.
67:55Jar Jar Binks? No, Jar Jar Binks. There you go.
67:58Yeah. He was just a bad character and super annoying.
68:01Yeah. What are you going to do? Valiant Vincent.
68:03Yeah. Would Connor rather draft Magnolia to watch on his movie night or a Dolphins wide receiver?
68:08That's a good question. Valiant Vincent. That is Chris Bell.
68:11Magnolia. Magnolia has variants. You haven't seen it before.
68:14Yeah. No, I need to watch Magnolia. Yeah, you should.
68:17It's Jay's favorite movie of all time. That'll make the paternity watch.
68:20Yeah. That should be as well. There you go.
68:23Yeah. That's not bad. Drums. Drumanace. Drumanace. Drumanace. Andre Drummond.
68:26Yeah. L-O-T-R equals League of the Regulars. Yeah. The thing is with Lord of the Rings, they're good movies at least.
68:32It's not like Phantom Menace. Yeah. You'll win. Yeah.
68:34I don't know if you need to rewatch it.
68:37It's very long. So if Magnolia's your favorite movie, what's your second favorite?
68:41Give us a Matt Rushmore. Yeah. I don't have a funny answer.
68:44I really like Chinatown. Okay. Maybe Chinatown. Hard to argue with that one.
68:48That one's great. It's a small standard. Yeah. It's a standard.
68:51I like old movies. I'm a big Casablanca fan.
68:54Yeah. But Magnolia sits above Casablanca for me. That's a unique take.
68:57That's why. Yeah. It's like, oh, your favorite movie of all time.
69:01Yeah. You like old movies. That's why you and I get along so well.
69:05Exactly. You're an old soul. Yeah. Exactly. It's a wonderful life.
69:08Yeah. Which I know that you were there on opening day for.
69:11Yes, of course. Yeah. Not too far. I almost spill.
69:14I should probably just spill something just for all time sakes.
69:17You're a little after naturally. Yeah. It's long enough and all the drinks are spilled on this side.
69:22Yeah. I'm sure it will. Connor, I have to tell you, and I think you do such a good job.
69:28Like, it's because you're, I think, a unique role where you have to host the show.
69:33So you have to sort of keep the regulars, you know, and me and Jay in check, especially me, because as you know, I talk a lot.
69:41But then also offer your analysis and finding your way.
69:44So I think it's a challenge. And when I think about all that you do when you, you know, you obviously work
69:50with Chris Sims here at NBC, but also, you know, whether it's the stock exchange that you do with Trevor, the Mets
69:56pod, Badlands, which is, as everyone knows, the second worst, second best.
70:00Second best. Second best. Or worse. I mean, there's probably two.
70:03It's just Badlands. You've got to really get that going.
70:06Worse lands for me and Lawrence. Still in the process of taking off.
70:10Yeah, yeah. Getting off the ground. We're making some calls.
70:13The pilot. Making calls. Yeah. It's the pilot of worse land.
70:16Exactly. We're still in the development phase of worse lands.
70:19Scripting on Kenyan Sadiq segments. Exactly. Well, listen, I might have some free time now, so we'll figure it out.
70:24No, jokes aside, but I just, Connor, I think you do such a good job and you're so versatile and I just,
70:31I don't know that that's always appreciated. Thank you, Matt.
70:34You know what I mean? Like, you make it look effortless.
70:37And so, I really think you're the glue that has been able to let the show get to where it is.
70:43There's a lot to be said, particularly when we have, you know, I think Connor really shines at the Super Bowl.
70:49Yeah. When we have, you know, these guests on and just knowing that there is a safe pair of hands where if
70:55you go off the rails and I don't have anything to say, Connor is very much going to make it so Jonathan Taylor doesn't have nothing to say.
71:03And that everyone, everyone, everything is going to keep rolling very smoothly.
71:07Well, like I said, you guys make it a lot of fun.
71:10That's the easy of it. I never walked onto the set once and was worried about the rundown or worried about if
71:17we were going to cover the analysis side of it all because you guys always had the answers for all of it as well.
71:24And Lawrence, it's also a credit to you for how seamlessly you just jump in and out of the show because I
71:30think that's the hardest role is when you're not doing something every day.
71:34But like the second season of the show for me is the first year I was freelancing here.
71:39So I'd host once a week and then a little more and then I was here all the time and then I was here every day.
71:47But, you know, you get your feet under you and for this to be the first on-air production that you worked on
71:53as well, it's a credit to you because I think it's, it's not hard to adjust because I think we all meld
71:59together so well, but it's not the easiest thing either.
72:02For sure, man. Appreciate that, man. Y'all boys made it easy, man.
72:06Made it easy, man. It was, it was all, it was always fun for me.
72:10It's just like, hey, it's like, I remember before the first time I got on, Alexa was just like, hey, you just
72:16talking, to your friends at a bar. That's how you're doing.
72:19And it's about football. So, you know, what, you know, what could come of that.
72:24So, yeah, man. Yeah, honestly. And I think that's, I think that's right.
72:28I mean, I, I didn't know Alexa had ever said that to you, but that's right.
72:32And I think that's, that's what we're going for with the show is like, I always felt like fantasy football, the way
72:39you, when you're, when you're betting on sports, you're playing fantasy football, like it happens at a bar.
72:44It doesn't happen behind a desk in a suit.
72:46Like you're hanging out at a bar with your buddies, BSing, talking about sports.
72:50What do we like? Oh, come on, get in the end zone.
72:54Like that's, that's how you play it. I feel like that's how it exists.
72:58And so wanting to do a show like that.
73:01And, and I think you guys and credit to NBC sports and credit to producer Steven and Pete and Damien and Adam
73:07and everyone that's helped, uh, you know, uh, behind the scenes in terms of has created that and gone along with it
73:13and created that vibe, uh, which is great. And the regulars have chimed in as well.
73:18Um, Philo B 25. If this is the end, thank you for everything guys.
73:22You guys are the best. I hope you guys stay together.
73:25We do as well. Honestly, I mean, you know, there's, there's businesses that, that need to be made.
73:30Um, and happy hour will come back next year.
73:33It's just what happy hour specifically looks like. It's just, that's the thing that's a little unfair.
73:38I think something we could all agree with. There's no other show like this one for the best and works reasons.
73:44Yeah, I would absolutely agree with that one. So thank you.
73:47Fix it fire. We also got a lot of comments rolling in here.
73:51This one from, uh, Lakers since Seda eighties, since the eighties, since the eighties, this was the fantasy football show to watch.
73:57Yeah. We really appreciate that. Matthew's been Lakers since the four.
74:00When they were in Minneapolis. Yeah. Yeah. Wherever the Lakers.
74:03Bed regular. That's gotta be the last one. That's gotta be the last one.
74:07That's right. Hold on bed. That's, uh, very well done.
74:10Very well. Um, shirtless Ben Johnson here. Vibe of the show is exactly what we love the feel of it and having it makes it special.
74:18We appreciate you guys and want to ensure it keeps going.
74:21I thank you shirtless Ben Johnson. That's, um, I, we agree.
74:24That was the goal. Yeah, that was, that was the goal.
74:27And the fact that you guys got that and came along for the ride with us, you know, just made it more special.
74:34We've, we've all collectively said this. I think we've said this on air, but I know we've all said this privately.
74:40This is our favorite year of the show. And it's because of, because of the regulars, honestly.
74:45Yeah. The chat has elevated to a different level.
74:48Yeah. And, uh, before we sign up, I just want to make sure that we, um, call out in particular, the work,
74:54um, that Steven D'Agostino and Damien Dabrowski have done because they have really driven the show, um, for the past four years.
75:00The fact that it is, you know, six days a week during football season, you know, these guys are, um, both recently
75:07married, um, and they poured their lives into this.
75:09I'm looking at a show night note right now of like notes about Juwan Jennings.
75:14So, you know, we're not going to talk about, but just that level of work that has gone in, uh, has made all this possible.
75:21So Steven, Damien, there's a lot of other people who have done a little work, but those two are here every single day.
75:27So cheers, cheers, Steven and Damien, no doubt. Somebody talked about the camaraderie.
75:31And I think the reason why it worked as far as a fantasy football show, a lot of shows, just sports shows
75:38in general, you've got a lot of similar personalities, but, um, I think we're all different.
75:42Like I know I couldn't be any more different.
75:45I know I talk a certain way. I talk my, you know, I talk my talk, whatever, but I think we're all
75:51different and we all was able to mesh it together.
75:54And then it came, it came out as this and we got, we got regulars now.
75:59I'm like, for me, like, that's crazy, man. Like, yeah, just like, I got him.
76:03There you go. There you go. Look at, he sings with seal.
76:07He's acting like, yeah, you're a multi-force. You're easily, you're an EGOT waiting to happen.
76:11SEC man said salute to stupid dev. Yeah, exactly.
76:13I was surprised. Well, I said, I literally said, can stupid dev Emmy award winning stupid dev, can Emmy award winning stupid dev call it?
76:21And he can't work. He's actually working on the show.
76:24He's actually doing our graphics, but yes. Salute to stupid dev.
76:27Yeah. Don't we have a comment from dev dev like posted something.
76:30It was like two hours ago, but it was a good comment.
76:34I laughed in my head. I don't remember what it was.
76:37I'm Ron Burgundy. I just read whatever is on the screen.
76:40There you go. I don't actually. Yeah, that is funny.
76:43Yeah. There you go. That wasn't it. Of course, from dev Stafford, salute to all of you boys.
76:48Yeah. It was a long time ago. I like his profile picture too.
76:52He's got his name. Custom nameplate? Yeah. Is that a custom graphics guy?
76:56What is he like LeBron James with a liquor brand?
76:59Yeah. He's got a lot of it. But you know what?
77:02I'll say this about stupid dev, Emmy award winning stupid dev, I should say.
77:06But like, give an example, like what was great, what is great about dev and what I think is great about everyone
77:12in the show, both behind the scenes and here in front of us, is that like everyone just sort of got the
77:19joke and embraced it, you know, as opposed to being offended by quote unquote stupid dev.
77:23Like he loved it and he played into it and he put it on, you know, he put it on his Instagram
77:30and like he, you know, he's, he's been a part of it.
77:33He's a part of the fabric of the show.
77:36And just, you know, I just, uh, you know, I, no one, no one took, we took the show seriously, but none of us took ourselves seriously.
77:43That's the most important thing. Yeah. And so, yeah.
77:46And I think, you know, so shout out to just everyone that they got the joke and, and, uh, and, uh, we
77:52were supposed to be taking this show serious this whole time.
77:56No, sir. Not you. No, you're good. I. Aloha Brick said dev making his nameplate look like an entrance to a gated community.
78:02Yeah. That needs to be interrogated. I'm not sure about this.
78:05Throw the challenge flag with devs, uh, as well.
78:08The devs, the saffered neighborhood. Yeah, exactly. No one's allowed in.
78:11Yeah. It's a little, yeah. It's either that or it's like a dev stack.
78:15Yeah, exactly. It's like, you know, like, um, dev manner, you know what I mean?
78:20Like something. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Expect it to, um, be, I want to, um, as long as we're giving shout outs here, I also want to say this.
78:28I want to say legitimately, um, like I said, I don't know exactly what, where, uh, what my future is going to
78:34be, but, but I want to take a moment here.
78:37I'm going to say thank you to NBC sports significantly.
78:40Um, first off, just, you know, the fact that they're for the, for this show specifically, the support for this show has been phenomenal.
78:47We've never, the four of us, we've never gotten a note.
78:50I mean, maybe you guys have, I've literally never been like, Hey, that joke was too far.
78:55Hey, you know, you need to talk more about sports or whatever.
78:58Like the, the, the NBC sports, the suits shout out to Alexa, shout out to Danielle, shout out to Matt Casey.
79:04We've never gotten, um, like pushback or no, all we've gotten is support.
79:08Hey, I think it's funny. I think you guys are, you know, be yourselves and so shout out to that.
79:14And also just shout out to NBC sports in general, Rick Cordella on down because we're getting to do this.
79:20A lot of times, you know, you don't get a last show, you know, and the fact that we are getting, we're
79:26getting a last show and we got it live.
79:29Like, I mean, you know, like they don't know what I'm going to say.
79:33And like, but they, I appreciate the trust from them and saying, I wouldn't have done it.
79:38I would have, I would have trusted me, but you know, um, but no legitimately.
79:42And so, um, uh, it, you know, it's been an unbelievable run.
79:45Um, like I said, we're still talking, uh, rest assured.
79:48Um, it's, there's nothing for not final, but, um, uh, I want to take this moment here since this is the, the
79:55last show of the season, regardless, just say thank you to NBC sports.
79:58Yeah. They've been, you know, with you all the way on that.
80:02Yeah. Fantastic as well. And you know, anything else?
80:05We got, we, we, we, we got like a minute.
80:07You just got to put the Barry 29 Jersey in the wrath.
80:11There's now. Oh, well, given it's our final minute, someone who hasn't really gotten a thank you yet is thank you, Matthew
80:17for, you know, allowing us to be a part of the show.
80:21Um, for, you know, I think the, the one thing I'll take away from working for you, working with you for these
80:27four years is that you just bring relentless energy, uh, and that you're always up for these shows, uh, and that you,
80:33you know, you really lead the way. And that, you know, I think that a lot of the reason why people, you
80:40know, uh, know who I am at all and have elevated all the profiles is because the opportunities that you've brought to us.
80:46Um, so thank you, my friend. Yeah. A huge thank you for me.
80:50I remember after I auditioned for this show, I got in the car ride home and my girlfriend at the time now
80:57wife, who is about to have our first child, uh, called me, you know, how was it?
81:02I was like, I was terrible. I didn't get that job.
81:05Like it was, she's like, Oh, you're always hard on yourself.
81:08I'm like, nah, I was like, I just didn't get it.
81:11It's, you know, it's hard. And I got to freelance and then I got to sit here full-time next to you.
81:17And it's been not only an honor because I watched you on TV for so long, but just that you became a friend.
81:24And like Jay said, you became a friend, a mentor and how many laughs we had.
81:28And just, it is hard talking about fantasy football six days a week on it in front of a camera with that level of energy.
81:36And I have the utmost respect for, for you to be able to do that.
81:40Thank you. Hey, look, man, I didn't even do no audition.
81:43I just showed up here one day and it was like, Hey, one day it was a 15 minute segment.
81:49The next time it was two segments. And then I'm doing the Sunday show with you, Jay, uh, Michael Smith, George, you
81:55know, no one of your caliber would have gave me a shot.
81:59They'd have been scared, but not old Matthew Barry TMR.
82:02He put me on there and it, you know, that, that was all she wrote, man.
82:06So I appreciate it. I know these guys cause of you, uh, we talked before you even worked at NBC.
82:12So, uh, so for it to come to this, man, I really appreciate it, man.
82:16Well, listen, it's incredibly meaningful. Thank you guys. Thank you so much.
82:20And look, all of you earned your way here.
82:23You're all great. You're all great on air. You're all superstars to me.
82:26I've just, you know, uh, I really enjoyed it.
82:29And so like you were great for moment one, you know, Lawrence, I love your energy.
82:34Like, and Jay, I remember when I came here and they said, we have this guy that works for points bet at the time.
82:40Uh, but we want to use them. Can you try him out for a segment?
82:45I said, sure, we'll do a segment. And you and I did a segment.
82:49And I was just like, uh, you and I did a segment with somebody else.
82:53Like there's a third person that was trying out.
82:56It was, it was supposed to be like a once a week segment.
83:00And I'm like, um, actually, can Jay and I just do one or the two of us and seeing like, and then
83:06we did a segment and I literally went to the boss and I said, um, he's awesome.
83:11Can, can I have him every day, please? And you know, and they're like, so you guys all earned your way here.
83:17And, um, it's been an honor and a pleasure.
83:20And it was scary for me leaving ESPN and, you know, coming to a new, um, new situation.
83:25And, um, and like, yeah, like I said, you guys made it easy and, uh, you went along, uh, everyone got the
83:31joke, I guess is, uh, what I would say there as well.
83:35Steven, I've completely lost track of time. Where are we?
83:38I, we, okay. Um, he's telling me that, um, he's telling me that I should pitch Finding Nemo 3 for one more time.
83:44So just hear me out. Okay. No, um, listen, uh, it has been an honor and a privilege.
83:50I will see you again. Happy hour. We'll see you again.
83:53Uh, I know I will see you guys again.
83:55Yes. Um, uh, one way or the other. Um, but, uh, again, thank you so much to every single person, to the
84:02regulars, to the cast and crew of fantasy people, happy hour to everyone, NBC sports.
84:06Um, and, uh, you know, at least for season four, uh, you don't have to go home, but you can't stay here.
84:12Peace out.
