Bijan Robinson

PositiveProjection0:49

Bijan Robinson had an excellent Thursday night performance. Matthew Berry stated you are not allowed to complain if you have Bijan Robinson after last night's game, indicating strong fantasy production.

Insight page

Brian Robinson

PositiveValue0:09

Brian Robinson has hit his rushing prop in three straight weeks with approximately 10 touches per game. Matthew Berry suggests taking the over on his rushing prop as an easy money play, noting the Seahawks keep his prop low but he consistently hits it.

Insight page

Caleb Williams

NegativeDepth Chart29:59

Caleb Williams' availability for Monday night's Bears game is considered far-fetched by Dan Graziano, though he notes that offensive coordinator Ben Johnson has not ruled out the possibility; the expectation is that Case Keenum will start instead.

Insight page
NegativeInjury30:09

Matthew Berry describes Caleb Williams returning for Monday night as 'far-fetched,' though he notes Ben Johnson hasn't ruled it out. With Bajant in concussion protocol and Keenum as backup, Williams appears unlikely to play. Berry emphasizes that regardless of which backup QB starts, expectations should be lowered across the Bears offense.

Insight page

Case Keenum

NegativeDepth Chart29:45

Case Keenum is the most likely starting quarterback for the Chicago Bears on Monday night against the Texans; Dan Graziano cites limited practice time due to the Monday night game and Tyson Bajant's concussion protocol status as reasons for the likely Keenum start.

Insight page
NegativeRole30:09

Case Keenum is the most likely backup quarterback for the Bears Monday night if Tyson Bajant doesn't clear concussion protocol. Matthew Berry describes Keenum as a veteran who 'will be all right' and notes there's 'a little bit of YOLO to Case Keenum,' suggesting some upside potential. However, Berry prefers Bajant and expects lowered offensive expectations regardless of which backup starts.

Insight page

Christian Watson

PositiveProjection0:18

Christian Watson continues to put up numbers and is one of the few Packers players Stefania Bell trusts right now. She noted they will look for him deep and he has been fantastic. Matthew Berry agrees, stating Christian Watson is legit.

Insight page
PositiveRole29:10

Christian Watson was a standout performer in Thursday night's game; Matthew Berry expresses enthusiasm for Watson's play and role in the Packers offense, contrasting favorably with other tight end options.

Insight page

Colston Loveland

NegativeProjection0:18

Matthew Berry mentioned Colston Loveland as one of his draft picks that he is hoping turns around this season, grouping him with other early season disappointments like Ken Walker and Devante Smith.

Insight page
PositiveMatchup31:00

Matthew Berry expresses hope that Colston Loveland can rebound against the Eagles on Monday night, drawing a parallel to Drake London's Week 3 bounce-back after two weeks of poor production. However, this optimism is tempered by the Bears' implied team total of 18.5 points, the fourth-lowest in Week 3, which suggests limited offensive opportunity.

Insight page

D.J. Moore

NegativeInjury23:09

AC joint injury; came out of Wednesday practice saying he felt great. Did not practice Thursday, which Matthew Berry suspects was deliberate rest rather than setback. With AC sprains, the main concern is not whether he plays but whether landing on it again causes him to exit the game. Sounds like he could be ready to play this week, though that's the risk if he does play. Berry ranks him as wide receiver 25.

Insight page

Darius Slayton

NegativeRole43:58

The Colts signed Darius Slayton to help establish a deep-field threat after Alec Pierce's injury. Dan Graziano believes Slayton can do some of that work, though not to the extent Pierce does, but potentially enough to get defensive attention off Josh Downs.

Insight page

Drake London

PositiveUsage0:58

Drake London commanded 43.5% target share in Thursday night game and was the only Falcons player with a target share above 13%. Matthew Berry emphasized Penix's strong connection to London, noting he looked at him the way fantasy owners want their players to be targeted.

Insight page
PositiveProjection31:00

Matthew Berry references Drake London as an example of a player who was rewarded in Week 3 after two weeks of tough production, using him as a comparison point for potential bounce-back opportunities for Bears receivers like Luther Burden and Colston Loveland.

Insight page

Drew Lock

NegativeRole31:55

Drew Locke is the Seahawks' backup quarterback if Sam Darnold cannot play Sunday. Matthew Berry notes the Seahawks 'feel very, very good about what Drew Locke has done and what he can do this week, if need be,' indicating confidence in Locke as a contingency option.

Insight page

Emanuel Wilson

NegativeRole0:23

Emmanuel Wilson is part of a shared Seahawks backfield with Jadarian Price and Helani. Matthew Berry has Wilson ranked at running back 47, well below Price at 27, indicating Price carries more value despite the shared workload situation.

Insight page

Ja'Marr Chase

NegativeValue0:01

Matthew Berry drafted Jamar Chase in most of his 27 teams this year, preferring him over Puka Nakua in third or fourth pick scenarios. He felt there was more risk with Puka than with Jamar Chase, citing off-field concerns and injury history as reasons for the preference.

Insight page

Jadarian Price

NegativeInjury0:45

Jadarian Price suffered a chest and shoulder injury (technically inside the shoulder) when he landed hard and had a defensive lineman fall on him. Stefania Bell expects him to play but notes everything is intact. However, the backfield is shared with Emmanuel Wilson and Helani, making workload uncertain. Price is the first and second down back who can catch passes, carrying the most value of the three backs.

Insight page

Jaylen Warren

PositiveValue40:46

Matthew Berry ranks Jalen Warren as his running back 21 this week. Warren would be the primary beneficiary if Rico Dowdle can't go; he has a shoulder issue but has been able to practice on a limited basis the last two days, so he should be okay to go unless there's a setback.

Insight page

Jonathan Taylor

PositiveProjection45:55

Jonathan Taylor is a no-brainer start wherever he might be drafted or rostered, according to Matthew Berry. He remains a core part of the Colts offense alongside Josh Downs and Tyler Warren.

Insight page

Jordan Love

PositiveProjection0:15

Jordan Love had a good fantasy day in Thursday night game against Falcons. He threw 53 pass attempts, indicating heavy volume for fantasy purposes.

Insight page

Josh Downs

PositiveUsage43:26

After Alec Pierce left the game with injury, Josh Downs had a 36% target share and ran over 40% of his routes from the perimeter. Dan Graziano expects Downs to be targeted heavily in the passing game with Pierce out, as he's a do-everything guy the team is extremely high on. Matthew Berry ranks him as wide receiver 27 this week with wide receiver two upside, calling him a rock-solid wide receiver three.

Insight page

Keenan Allen

NegativeProjection43:36

Dan Graziano does not believe Keenan Allen is in a position to be a consistent producer on fantasy teams despite being on the Colts roster. Matthew Berry ranks him as wide receiver 57, suggesting he's only a play in super deep leagues if you're truly desperate.

Insight page

Kyle Pitts

NegativeProjection0:30

Kyle Pitts was not a factor in Thursday night game despite Penix's return; the offense focused on Drake London and Bijan Robinson. Matthew Berry stated he is not dropping Pitts but is definitely not starting him until he sees production, calling him unstartable until further notice. Berry expects to see Penix again in 10 days and hopes the offense can find a rhythm with Pitts.

Insight page
NegativeRole29:07

Kyle Pitts was not the preferred tight end option in Thursday night's game; Matthew Berry contrasts Pitts unfavorably with Christian Watson, suggesting Watson outperformed or was preferred in the Falcons-Packers matchup.

Insight page

Luther Burden

PositiveMatchup31:00

Matthew Berry expresses hope that Case Keenum can get the ball to Luther Burden against the Eagles on Monday night. Berry draws a parallel to Drake London's Week 3 rebound after two weeks of tough production, suggesting Burden could similarly bounce back. However, this optimism is tempered by the Bears' implied team total of 18.5 points, the fourth-lowest in Week 3.

Insight page

Marvin Harrison Jr.

NegativeProjection46:09

Marvin Harrison Jr. is tied for fifth on the Cardinals in targets through the first two games, tied with Tyler Algier. Matthew Berry notes that Harrison came to the league with extremely high expectations that have not yet been met. Dan Graziano reports he's not playing well, not getting open to the extent the team wants, and it's not clicking in Arizona right now. Berry ranks him as not startable and says he doesn't mind dropping him in very shallow leagues.

Insight page

Matthew Golden

PositiveBreakout0:18

Matthew Golden continues to put up numbers alongside Christian Watson. Stefania Bell is in on Golden, calling him legit. A commenter noted Golden looked crispy and sharp in the game.

Insight page

Michael Penix Jr.

PositiveProjection0:07

Penix looked better than anticipated in his first game back in nearly a year after ACL reconstruction using a quad tendon graft (due to prior patellar tendon grafts on opposite knee) plus reinforcement procedure for rotational stability. Stefania Bell noted he continued to gain confidence under center throughout the game and is expected to improve further as he gets healthier.

Insight page

Michael Pittman

PositiveInjury41:01

Michael Pittman has a shoulder issue but has been in limited practice both days this week, which is an improvement over last week. He has historically played through injuries and hasn't missed too many games throughout his career in Indianapolis, so the team feels good about his availability.

Insight page

Michael Wilson

PositiveRole48:08

Michael Wilson is a player the Cardinals like a lot and have paid accordingly. Dan Graziano notes that right now, Wilson is probably the better player than Marvin Harrison Jr., so the team is going to him more frequently in the offense.

Insight page

Mike Evans

PositiveMatchup23:03

Matthew Berry has no concerns on Mike Evans for the 49ers matchup this week; ranked as wide receiver 17 in his rankings. Berry expects this to be a great game for the Niners, making Evans a top-20 play this week.

Insight page

Puka Nacua

NegativeInjury0:36

Puka Nakua is trending towards not playing again this week after missing last week. Stefania Bell drafted him first overall in her Scott Fishbowl league and it has not been good. She noted his injury history dates back to college and training camp (joint practice August 11 with Cowboys), with three weeks of rest before returning August 30. Despite his amazing productivity when healthy, he has a pattern of getting banged up. Matthew Berry was not surprised by the injury given Puka's history, noting he had very little Puka in his 27 teams this year due to injury risk concerns.

Insight page
NegativeInjury20:46

Psoas/groin injury that began at joint practice with Cowboys on August 11th; missed three weeks of football activity until August 30th. Matthew Berry trusts Rams medical staff to modulate activity and return him when ready, aiming to prevent compensatory injuries that could cost bulk of season. Berry is not looking to trade him despite the risk, believing payoff will be there when he returns, though acknowledges it's a risk for 0-2 teams.

Insight page

Sam Darnold

PositiveInjury31:55

Sam Darnold has made significant progress from his injury and was elevated to full practice yesterday. The Seahawks want to give him a chance to play Sunday against Washington if he hits their benchmarks. Darnold said yesterday he is 'striving to play Sunday.' Matthew Berry expects clarity today on whether Darnold will play, noting the recovery has been quicker than initially expected. If Darnold clears, Berry believes the Seahawks will play him rather than hold him out for extra caution.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

NegativeInjury0:16

Saquon Barkley left last week's game with a stinger (nerve stretch/compression in neck) but is expected to play Monday night. Stefania Bell noted he had positive imaging and wore a cowboy collar for protection. She explained stinger symptoms typically resolve within minutes to hours, and the team is not worried about significant risk. Matthew Berry ranks him at running back 10 and expects him to play well.

Insight page

Tank Bigsby

NegativeValue0:01

Tank Bigsby needs to be rostered in 100% of leagues as a handcuff to Saquon Barkley, who is rostered in 100% of leagues. Matthew Berry emphasizes this as essential insurance given Barkley's injury history and the stinger concern.

Insight page

Trey McBride

PositiveRole48:38

Trey McBride is the Cardinals' best offensive player and the offense is going to run through him as the tight end. Even if Marvin Harrison starts playing better, the offense will continue to center on McBride as the number one producer.

Insight page

Tucker Kraft

NegativeUsage0:40

Tucker Kraft received 8 targets in Thursday night game but did not show up in the box score despite Packers throwing 53 times. Stefania Bell attributes this to where the ball went rather than injury concerns, noting he may have been used more for blocking given offensive line issues. She deliberately did not play him in daily fantasy due to concerns about the Packers offense overall, but believes he has had a smooth recovery from ACL injury.

Insight page

Tyler Warren

PositiveRole44:30

Tyler Warren is positioned as a key target in the Colts passing game with Alec Pierce out. He's been used as the team's short-yardage and goal-line player (tush-push guy), and Matthew Berry ranks him as a top six tight end play this week.

Insight page

Zay Flowers

NegativeInjury24:03

Zay Flowers has yet to practice this week despite traveling with the Ravens to Brazil; he's been doing some work on the side with progress being made, but Matthew Berry and Stefania Bell believe he is not ready to return to football. Berry is leaning towards him not being active for the road game out of the country and expects another week before Flowers returns. This impacts his current ranking at wide receiver eight, which will need adjustment.

Insight page
NegativeInjury24:03

Has yet to practice this week despite traveling with team to Brazil. Matthew Berry notes that players sometimes travel because the medical staff they're working with are also traveling, which doesn't necessarily indicate a setback.

0:00It is noon on YouTube, but you know what?
0:03I'm sorry, it's actually not even 9 on. I'm already drunk.
0:06How is this possible? It's 9 a.m. on YouTube.
0:09It's 9 a.m. on YouTube, but it is 5 o'clock somewhere clearly in my belly because I've gotten that wrong.
0:15What's up, party people, brothers and sisters, friends of the revolution.
0:19It's your old pal Matthew Berry, your friendly neighborhood bartender here, ready to get you ready for week number three jam-packed show today.
0:26Bunch of stuff going on. First off, a little bit later in the show, our old pal, friend of the show, Dan Graziano from ESPN.
0:33He's going to give us all the week three intel we need to know, all the backfield by committees, all the who's
0:40going to get this playing time, what are they doing, all that.
0:44That's coming up a little bit later in the show.
0:47I want to talk about Thursday Night Football. But, of course, week three injuries with my dear friend, the one and only, the GOAT, Stefania Bell herself.
0:56Of course, we all follow you, Stefania, on social media, at Stefania L.
1:00Bell. And I'm bringing you on right now. We're going to talk about Thursday Night Football.
1:04We'll get all the injuries we need to know, but a couple of things that are very important here right off the top.
1:12Stefania, I'm going to bring some news to you right now, but I don't know if you're aware of this, but I had a cameo in Avengers Endgame.
1:20I've never brought it up before, but I feel like you should know this.
1:25Thank you. I was unaware. So a lot of people, I think, are unaware, but the reason I bring it up here
1:31is that it's out in theaters again this weekend.
1:34Avengers Endgame Encore is out in theaters this weekend.
1:37I actually saw a preview of it last night.
1:40It's awesome. First off, is it great to see my- So wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
1:45You watched a preview of a movie you've already seen that you're in.
1:49And that I'm in. Because you needed to preview.
1:52You know, it's funny because I saw that- I like seeing myself on the big screen, Stefania.
1:58It's not that I don't enjoy being on the small screen here with you and the fine folks, but every once in
2:04a while, it's nice to look up and see me in, you know, in like, you know, 20-foot high, high def.
2:11You know, I look good. That is- Don't scare people away.
2:14I mean, you still want them to go to the theater, right?
2:18Look, the white llama says, can't wait to see Matthew on the big screen again.
2:23Everyone's so excited about it. It's 100%. That should burner account.
2:26Stop it. No, stop. If you're interested, Stefania, if you are interested in the MCU, the Matthew Cinematic Universe, if you're interested
2:33in this, as Justin Wolfers says, yeah, box off of Barry, you're damn right.
2:37Look, here's what I found out. There's a couple of things that's really important, right?
2:42McGenuine says it's called Avengers Endgame or Avengers Pre-Game, the Barry edit.
2:46I like that, McGenuine. I need somebody out there because, of course, Pre-Game with Matthew Barry starts on the Roku channel on Monday.
2:53We'll talk about that in a second. But yeah, I need somebody to put together an edit that's pretty much Avengers, but only from my point of view.
3:01So anyway, hopefully somebody out there can get that figured out.
3:05But anyway, if you are a fan of the MCU, as I am, it's definitely worth seeing.
3:10First off, it's just cool to see it on the big screen again.
3:14Some of the sequences in that are just so incredible.
3:17If you haven't seen it or if you – it's been a while.
3:21I don't want to re-ruin it. But Clint and Natasha searching for the Soul Stone.
3:26Anyway, there's some unbelievable sequences in the entire thing.
3:29Not to mention, of course, 2012, the lobby of Stark Tower, where yours truly – some other actors, whatever.
3:35You'll see. We're all there. Some guys we barely know.
3:38You know, Mike, Robert Downey Jr., whatever. Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Robert Redford, Tom Hiddleston, Mark Ruffalo, Paul Rudd, no big deal, NBD.
3:45What I'll say to you, though, Starfanya Bell, is Avengers Endgame is $124 million behind Avatar right now for the highest-grossing movie of all time.
3:53So I need – $124 million? I need – well, it's – you know, honestly, I probably only need like $12.4 million
4:00because tickets are like $10 a piece right now.
4:02So I just need $12.4 million of you guys to go out and see it this weekend if you can.
4:09So we can get over Avatar. Before you move on.
4:12I don't want to ruin anything. I will just say there are three new scenes that have been added to the movie.
4:19At least three new scenes that I counted that tie it closer to Avengers Doomsday, which obviously comes out in December.
4:25So everyone should check that out again if you are a fan of the MCU.
4:30Some people call it the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I call it the Matthew Cinematic Universe.
4:34We will get to injuries very, very soon. But I wanted to just – one last piece of housekeeping, Stefania, if you don't mind.
4:42You're not letting me say – I have one thing for the people.
4:46And the long-time listeners will appreciate this. Because last night I did see the trailer for this and that was going to be re-released in theaters.
4:54And my immediate thought was if only there were a prop bet on the over-under on whether Matthew starts off the show
5:01with this, I would have placed my bets on it.
5:04I thought of this last night. I could have gotten the money to pay for my ticket to go see you.
5:10I think you would have won more. Well, yeah, it probably would have been like minus 400 or something like that.
5:17It was a pretty easy cash. There's no question about it.
5:20I mean, it was either that or free game with Matthew Berry, which starts on Roku Monday at noon Eastern.
5:27So this is the last live YouTube broadcast of Fantasy Football Happy Hour.
5:31Fantasy Football Happy Hour will continue. If you listen to it, if you listen to it, if you watch clips of it
5:37on YouTube, those things are going to continue, right?
5:40So – but in terms of the live window, in terms of just being on the live window, that's not going to
5:47happen on Monday because we will be live on Roku channel, right?
5:51So from 12 to 2. So if you'd like to comment on the show the way that we just saw Wolf John
5:58and some of the other guys, the White Llama and some of the other regulars.
6:02So what I would say is join our Discord.
6:05Either tweet at the show, at MatthewBerryTMR, on Monday, and obviously for the rest of time, hopefully, but also in our Discord.
6:12And if you go to the show on any episode on YouTube and just click on the description at the bottom, there
6:19is a link to join our Discord as well.
6:21Or you can just search Fantasy Football Happy Hour on Discord.
6:25So join our Discord community. It's awesome. People are really, like, encouraging and fun.
6:29It's a great group. Highly recommend joining our Discord, whether you want to comment on the show or not.
6:35It's just a great community to run feedback of trades and moves.
6:39And I pop in there from time to time as well.
6:42So please join our Fantasy Football Happy Hour Discord.
6:45And I hope to see everyone on Monday, noon Eastern, on the Roku channel.
6:49All right, Starfania, let's talk about this terrible, this Thursday night game, which was awesome on one hand and bad on the other one.
6:57Michael Penix, thank you. Thank you, Michael Penix, for coming back to save our fantasy seasons, to save everyone that has Bijan
7:04Robinson and Detective Drake London on their teams. We'll talk about Pitts here in a second.
7:09We expected a little bit of rust, but what did you see from Michael Penix just out there?
7:14How did he look to you? Listen, I thought he looked better than I anticipated for his first game in nearly a year.
7:21And I think the thing, it was mentioned on the broadcast last night, but I think the thing people don't realize when
7:28they were wondering, why isn't he back yet? Is that he had a different kind of ACL reconstruction.
7:34You know, he's had two ACL tears before on the opposite knee, on his right knee.
7:39And they use a patellar tendon graft, which is the most common, particularly with NFL athletes, pretty universal, where they take the
7:45middle third of your patellar tendon between the kneecap and where it anchors to the bone.
7:50They use that as the graft. We couldn't use it anymore.
7:54You only have two, one in each leg. So they use a quad tendon graft, which is another kind that has come more into favor recently.
8:02But that can take a little bit longer to get your quad strength back because they have to take part of your quad to make the graft.
8:10And then they did a reinforcement procedure on the outside of his knee, which is going to be great for his long-term
8:17health because it helps protect rotational stability. So hopefully he doesn't have any issues going forward with this knee.
8:23But that can also complicate the rehab a bit, make it a little bit tougher, feel like you got your full motion, et cetera.
8:30And so when you heard Michael Penix Jr. saying he was working through some things and wanted to make sure he really
8:37felt like himself, especially after having gone through this so many times, I thought that was entirely fair.
8:43And what you saw was him continue to get confident just in being back under center over the game.
8:49I loved it. I think it's going to be great.
8:52Yeah, I'll tell you what you saw, Stefania Bell.
8:55I saw, I saw, you saw him saving fantasy seasons.
8:58You saw him looking at Drake London. He included because I am a big Drake London fan.
9:03Yeah, we all have Detective Drake London on our team.
9:0643.5% target share in this one. He was the only Falcons player with a target share above 13%, Stefania.
9:12Here's what I want. I want you to find a guy that looks at you the way Michael Penix looks at Drake London.
9:19That's what my hope is for you. Me and Beth, we're out there searching for you.
9:24Let me know, by the way, if anyone out there wants to ring the bell because Stefania, you know, stop, come on,
9:31you know, you know, I love you. All right, look, hey, uh, maybe he can find my Kyle Pitts one day.
9:37That is what we need him to do. Yes.
9:40Before you can court Stefania Bell, we need you to find Kyle Pitts.
9:44It's like, it's like a, some sort of medieval challenge, um, uh, here as well.
9:49Bijan was awesome. There's nothing else to say here.
9:52I look, Brian Robinson, by the way, small thing here.
9:55So 10 for 50 gets the touchdown late, whatever it happens.
9:58You're not allowed to complain if you have Bijan Robinson after last night.
10:02I don't want to hear like, oh, you're not allowed to complain.
10:06Shut the hell up. Here's what I will say though.
10:09Very quietly. Brian Robinson has hit his rushing prop now in three straight weeks.
10:13He's getting like 10 touches a game every single week.
10:16So Brian Robinson, just sort of some easy money there.
10:20If you want, take the over on Brian Robinson's rushing prop.
10:23Maybe it'll catch up, but like so far they, they keep it low and he's hit it now in three straight weeks as well.
10:30I don't know what's going on with Kyle Pitts, but again, it was all, it was all Drake London and Bijan Robinson.
10:37My take here is, is that I'm not dropping Kyle Pitts, but I'm definitely not starting him until I see it sometime.
10:4410 days for Michael Penix before we see him again.
10:47So hopefully even more healthy and maybe they can figure out a way to, to get into the, uh, to the rhythm
10:54of the offense there, but he's unstartable until further notice.
10:57Kyle Pitts is on the green Bay side of the ball here.
11:01This is sort of what we, what we expected, right?
11:04And the Packers defense, boy, oh boy, do they need Micah Parsons back, Stefania.
11:08But, um, while it looked bad early, you know, ultimately for what we care about, the players we care about for the
11:15most part, at least in the passing attack, put up numbers.
11:18Jordan Love had a good fantasy day. Christian Watson and Matthew Golden continue to put up.
11:23And we talked about this yesterday on the show on the love hate show here on fantasy football happy hour that we liked both guys hands up.
11:32If you knew this is where Sky Moore was playing these days, right?
11:36Right. I mean, but he's, uh, anyway, um, yeah, it was a weird one.
11:40Um, um, my only last question for you, Stefania is Tucker craft.
11:44It's been a little bit of a slow start to the season for Tucker craft.
11:49He did get eight targets in this one. Didn't show up in the box score, especially in a game in which they threw 53 times.
11:56Jordan Love threw 53 pass attempts in this one.
11:59Uh, anything from Tucker crafts on field demeanor that makes you think he's slow to recover from this injury or is it
12:06just like just where the ball went and he's ultimately going to be fine.
12:10I think it's where the ball went. And also I, uh, you know, I was going to go back and actually look
12:17at this game play by play again, because the thought had been, they might need him more for blocking given this situation, um, with their offensive line.
12:25And, you know, he's such a valuable receiver. I think he's actually done really well.
12:30He's had a very smooth recovery, um, from that ACL injury and got enough exposure in the preseason that I felt really
12:37good about him going in, but I deliberately did not play him last night in a couple of daily fantasy games.
12:43Um, for, for that reason, I wanted to see how the offense looked and, and I had some concerns about the green Bay offense.
12:51The really the, one of the only players I trust right now is Christian Watson, because you know, they're going to look
12:58for him deep and he's been fantastic. Um, but you know, I, I think that's the golden's legit.
13:03I will tell you, I'm in on, I'm in on Matthew.
13:07I'm in on Matthew golden. I think he's legit.
13:09I think that's, that's well stated about Tucker craft, but the, the positives here are, is that they, they can't defend anyone and they can't run the ball.
13:18You're not starting any Packers running back until further notice.
13:21Um, and so they are going to have to continue to, uh, throw quite a bit as chase Hendricks 12 says golden
13:28looked crispy, sharp even with a little rocket ship emoji.
13:31All right, Stefania. Uh, we're running out of time as always.
13:35You made me talk about Avengers end game for way too long.
13:38So we're behind. This is all your fault as always to find you.
13:42So let's get into some of the injuries for week.
13:45Number three, everyone going into the year had high hopes for Jadarian Price.
13:49And certainly this is a mouthwatering matchup on the road at my terrible commanders.
13:54Um, but banged up last week, what do we expect out of Jadarian price?
13:58Are we going to see him or will it be the Emmanuel Wilson show on Sunday?
14:03I think there's a good chance that he will play.
14:06So he got injured when he landed hard on his shoulder and then he had one of his own defensive linemen fall on top of him.
14:14So, uh, there were, there were concerns about what was going on.
14:18It's been called a chest and a shoulder injury reports.
14:21His chest, Mike McDonald references shoulder. He said really technically something up inside the shoulder, but everything's intact.
14:27So the fact that he's been out there in limited work, I do expect him to play, but this has looked like a shared backfield to begin with.
14:35And I just don't know how that workload is going to shape up given the fact that Jadarian price might be a little limited by this latest injury.
14:44And they've got Emmanuel Wilson. They've got Helani. It really don't know how it's going to divvy up.
14:50The, the, it does look like Jadarian price. He's your first and second down back.
14:54He's going to get the carries initially. So, uh, of the three, I think he carries the most value as a running pack and he can catch passes.
15:03The Seahawks have referenced that, you know, just because you didn't see that so much, remember who he played behind in college, Jeremiah loves.
15:10So he is a pass catcher that can do some damage there.
15:14And maybe we get to see a little bit more of that, but it is going to be a shared backfield.
15:21I do expect him to try and play. Yeah.
15:23For whatever it's worth, I have him at running back 27.
15:27I have Wilson at 47. So I'm with you here that, uh, uh, Jadarian Price is the Seahawks running back you want,
15:34but because of concern that he may not be a hundred percent healthy.
15:38I think there's a chance that the Seahawks blow out my commanders, um, who have looked terribly defensively and not great offensively.
15:45Obviously no Jaden Daniels on this one. So you could see a scenario where you see a lot of Emmanuel Wilson and
15:51George Helani in the second half, you know, them race, resting price if the game, uh, feels in hand.
15:57So that's why I have him as a low end flex this week, despite the great matchup because of concerns of re-injury
16:04and concerns of, uh, lack of playing time because of the score and game script.
16:09Uh, let's talk about Saquon Barkley left the game last week with a stinger came back for a little bit, but didn't look great.
16:16What are the, he plays Monday night, Stefania. Um, where are we on Saquon this week?
16:21Well, the most important thing is I think he expects to play.
16:25Um, that's what we're hearing. They only had one practice so far at the time that you and I are talking Thursday
16:32because it is a Monday night game and he was listed as limited participant still wearing, uh, what they call that cowboy
16:38collar, which protects your neck, um, from going into, uh, extended position sort of blocks the neck and protects it.
16:45So a stinger for people aren't familiar is when your neck gets either stretched or compressed in a way that either pinches,
16:51compresses nerves in the neck or stretches. And if you saw the hit that he took and how he kind of got
16:58rolled over, his neck really did get stretched away from the shoulder.
17:02Um, he had some imaging that came back positively.
17:05So, uh, he's very fortunate that it was really symptomatically a stinger, which by the way, imagine hitting your funny bone.
17:11And you know that the zingers that go down into your arm and fingers.
17:16Well, when you're stretching the nerves up at the neck level, it's like your whole arm gets electric shocks and it's really uncomfortable.
17:23And usually, um, the symptoms resolve themselves within minutes to hours, occasionally longer in a severe injury.
17:28But, uh, now it's just a matter of, you know, can he play effectively and is he, um, at risk?
17:34And it doesn't sound like he's, they're worried about him being significantly at risk right now.
17:39Um, he'll be out there. I believe on Monday night, but obviously stay tuned for today.
17:44We will stay tuned for today as he was limited in practice on Thursdays.
17:49We, as you, uh, as you mentioned, Stefan, yeah, I'm at running back 10.
17:53So my expectation is that he plays and plays wells.
17:56But as we've talked about throughout the preseason all last week, all this week, it's okay.
18:01Tank Bigsby needs to be rostered in a hundred percent of leagues because Saquon Barkley is rostered in a hundred percent of leagues.
18:08Hey, um, I not to victory lap on this.
18:11Oh, you never want to victory lap on a injury.
18:14No, I'm serious. Like, I mean, again, like, like whatever, some great calls, Ken Walker, Devante Smith, some, some hoping that turns
18:21around on like Colston Loveland for me. But I have just, I will tell you that across my 27 teams that I
18:28have this year, it was an accurate number, 27 teams.
18:31You really should play more. 27 teams that I drafted this year.
18:34I think I have Puka Nakua on literally one of them because it just, whenever, generally I was very much a running
18:41back in the first round guy this year, that was, you know, sort of as I talked through sort of my draft philosophy.
18:48So I always went running back whenever I could, but in a scenario where I was there and I had like the
18:55third or fourth pick, I almost always wound up with Jamar Chase, proud fantasy life investor, Jamar Chase.
19:01So I have very little Puka. And one of the reasons why, and a lot of people had Puka over Jamar Chase, but I was just nervous.
19:09There's just, there was, I felt like there was more risk with Puka than there is, than there was with Jamar Chase.
19:16There's obviously some off the field concerns. Could Puka Nakua get suspended at some point this year, but also injuries.
19:22This is somebody that for as productive, which is amazing as he's been on the field, always seems to get nicked up a little bit.
19:30And so again, I'm not victory lapping this, but I'm also saying that I'm not surprised by this, Stefania.
19:36Are you, by Puka and more importantly, if you have Puka Nakua, how concerned should we be?
19:41Missed last week. Where is your level of concern on him?
19:45Looks like he's trending towards not playing again. It does look like he's trending towards not playing again.
19:50Let me tell you, conservative Stefania drafted him first overall in her Scott Fishbowl league.
19:55And it has not been good. It has not been good.
19:58The curse of Stefania Bell strikes again. Ow, my finger.
20:01I know. I know. I wish you'd told us this.
20:04Wish I'd known this. I wish I, I wish I'd known.
20:08Listen, and the thing is that history, what do we say?
20:11You know, best predictor of future injury is past injury.
20:14And if you go back to even Puka's college days, there were concerns when he came into the league about his injury history.
20:21But one of the things, one of the reasons I felt better about it is that he's been amazingly productive.
20:28And even though, you know, the way he plays is so physical and he has gotten banged up during the season, he's
20:34still been remarkably productive and mostly on the field.
20:37He hasn't really missed extended time, extended time. So that was the gamble that I took.
20:42And then early in that game in Australia, obviously aggravated something.
20:46This has been around since training camp. I went back and looked yesterday.
20:50It was a joint practice back in mid-August, August 11th with the Cowboys when this started bothering him.
20:55And so it was sort of the, you know, he didn't really practice again.
21:00He didn't come back to football activity type drills until August 30th.
21:03So that put him right up against it. It was three weeks really of resting from that.
21:09You've heard me mention it before. I think the Rams medical staff is among the best in the league.
21:14One of the things they're very good at is sort of modulating activity and returning people when they're ready.
21:20So this is, if there's a group that I trust to sort of look at the season as a whole and say,
21:27this is the best thing for him so that once we get him back, we're hopeful to not have him have to leave again.
21:35It's them. Here's the issue. It started as what was termed a psoas injury.
21:39That's your hip flexor, deep hip flexor, right? Part of your core muscles.
21:43Now, Sean McVay talking about groin psoas. I know you did.
21:46I'm just letting the rest of the people, I know you and anatomy or like this.
21:51But the thing is that when you have a core injury and you start hearing about different areas that are bonding, what
21:58you don't want to hear is eventually that he could just never get right, never get the power back.
22:04And somewhere we're going towards a core muscle repair.
22:07So I think that's what they're doing is trying to help kind of make sure that he doesn't end up with a
22:14compensatory injury that costs him the bulk of the season.
22:17So let me ask you just a very direct question.
22:20We only have like four minutes left to find it.
22:23So just need super quick answers here. Unfortunately, we're running out of time.
22:27Again, you shouldn't have made me talk about Avengers Endgame so much.
22:31It's your fault. Hey, but on Puka, if I have Puka Nakua and he's not like, and I'm an 0-2 team, should I be trading Puka?
22:39Are you worried long term about Puka? Or no?
22:42Do you think after this week he's back? Just real quickly, one sentence.
22:46But for me, I am not looking to trade him because I think the payoff will be there when he comes back.
22:52But I also understand it's a risk. Like I don't blame you if you're trying to trade him.
22:58But I personally am not. Three quick hitters. Again, here's to find you real quickly.
23:03What's your concern level on Mike Evans for your 49ers?
23:06None. None whatsoever. We love that. That's fantastic. How about DJ Moore?
23:09Didn't practice on Thursday after being limited on Wednesday.
23:12It's been 10 days since the last Thursday night game.
23:15Where are we on DJ Moore? So he came out of Wednesday's practice saying he felt great.
23:21And so the question for me is, was Thursday a deliberate non-practice?
23:24Because this was an AC joint injury. Maybe they didn't need him to practice on Thursday.
23:29With AC spraying, your big concern is not necessarily if they play.
23:33Sounds like he could be ready to play this week.
23:36The issue is if they land on it again, does it become so problematic that they then exit the game?
23:42That will be the risk you take if he does play.
23:46Okay. Fair enough. DJ Moore, my wide receiver 25.
23:49By the way, on Mike Evans, I'm at wide receiver 17.
23:52Stefania has no concerns. I have no concerns. He's a top 20 play this week in what should be a great game for the Niners.
24:00And the last one here before we get you out.
24:03What about Zay Flowers? He has yet to practice this week.
24:06I know. Traveling with the team to Brazil, but we've heard these mentions of the field in Brazil.
24:12Sometimes players travel because the medical staff they're working with, the majority of them are traveling as well.
24:17And so I would keep that in mind. I know that he's been doing some work on the side.
24:23I think there's progress being made. I'm not sure he's ready to return to football again.
24:28They're looking at the big picture. We're still early in the season.
24:32I am leaning towards him not being active. You know, why would you take that chance on the road out of the country?
24:39I think we're probably looking at another week before we see Zay Flowers.
24:43All right. Which means right now I have Zay Flowers at wide receiver eight, but I'm going to have to adjust my rankings.
24:50I mean, it's not for sure. Obviously, stay tuned.
24:53But if my instinct feels like that. Yeah. Your spidey sense is tingling, Stefania.
24:57My spidey sense. And every time your spidey sense tingles, you always wind up right.
25:02As you said, the best indicator of future injury is previous injury.
25:06I say the best indicator of future injury is Stefania Bell.
25:09Stefania, you are the GOAT as always. Starfania Bell.
25:12Thanks a lot. We will follow you on social media at Stefania Bell on X and of course at Stefania Bell on the gram.
25:19All right, Starfania. We will see you next Friday.
25:22Good luck to your Niners. Good luck to your Puka shares.
25:26I'd say good luck to your commanders, but you know.
25:29It's going to be pointless. It's dire. Yeah, I know.
25:32It's not looking good. Anyway, so well, I appreciate this, Stefania.
25:35Hopefully, we get to see you next Friday on Pre Game with Matthew Barry on the Roku channel.
25:41I know my people are talking to your people who are talking to other people.
25:45And so all sorts of negotiations are going on.
25:48I have to get through the layers and layers and layers.
25:52But your third assistant has gotten me in touch with your first assistant.
25:56And so hopefully we'll get that all sorted out.
25:58Starfania, have a great weekend. We'll talk to you.
26:01We'll talk to you soon, my friend. Thank you, my friend.
26:05All right. There you go, Stefania Bell. We'll be back.
26:08You know, Dan, losing weight can feel a lot like getting so close to the end zone and then losing the ball right before you cross the line.

26:59G'day. I'm Justin Wolfers, host of the Platypus Economics podcast.
27:02If there's one thing I've learned from a career teaching economics, it's that your life is shaped by economic currents you'll never see.
27:09A single price tag can explain things a thousand experts can't.
27:12People who understand economics, they make better decisions in their careers, their finances, their relationships in their communities.
27:18And I want that for you. Listen to and follow Platypus Economics, available now wherever you get your podcasts.
27:24All right. Back here on the happy hour as the bar continues rolling.
27:28And it's another special here as Dan Graziano joins the happy hour bar.
27:32Drake London, by the way, Detective Drake London drinks for free today at the happy hour bar.
27:37That was something. Dan Graziano. Of course, we all follow you on social media at Dan Graziano ESPN.
27:43You play in multiple leagues. I believe it's four fantasy leagues.
27:46Four this year, yes. Yes. Yeah, too many. And they're all on ESPN Fantasy.
27:50It's important that I mention that. A week from now, it's going to be fine.
27:55Because I'm in this fantasy baseball championship right now.
27:58And I've got three days left. So I'm kind of like, and it's a weekly league.
28:03I'm just kind of obsessing over it. So after that, football is going to have my full attention.
28:08Have you ever won this particular league? Fantasy baseball?
28:11Yeah. This would be my fifth title in 12 years in the league.
28:15I am the Yankees in this league. Yeah. It was a long story.
28:19But my first year was 2012. We didn't have a fab thing.
28:23It was just you could pick up anybody whenever.
28:26And the Angels called up Mike Trout. I've heard of him.
28:29I picked him up. And it's a keeper league.
28:32So I had him for like, it's a salary cap where it's like five extra dollars every year.
28:38So he's on my team for 10 years. And I just dominated.
28:41Yeah, of course. Because he's worth like 50 bucks or whatever.
28:45Yeah, of course. I had Trout's entire prime. It was amazing.
28:48Good for you. That's awesome. Yeah. So I got, I literally quit fantasy baseball because I got screwed out of Mike Trout in my longtime keeper.
28:56I had him in my keeper league in a deep AL only keeper league.
29:00I had him since he was 17. And I got screwed out of him once again called up to the majors.
29:07It's a long story. I won't bore everyone here with this.
29:10Yeah, I got to hear that someday. But that is literally why I no longer play fantasy baseball.
29:16So anyway, yeah. I got so angry at that.
29:19I'm enjoying Christian Watson last night and not Kyle Pitts.
29:22That was my situation last night. You and every other fantasy manager.
29:26We love Christian Watson. We love Matthew Golden. We like the junk time Jordan love.
29:30But thank God to our Lord and Savior, Michael Penix, for coming back and saving.
29:35My goodness. Bijan Robinson and Detective Drake London. Dan, you are one of the most plugged in people on the entire planet.
29:42You've got sources all over the National Football League.
29:45So let's start in Chicago. Any indication from all of your sources with the Bears?
29:49Who's going to start at quarterback for Chicago on Monday night, which will be on ESPN?
29:54I should mention here as well. Yeah. Is it Tyson Bajant, who's still in the concussion protocol?
29:59Do you think he's trending or playing? Or is it the Case Keenum experience on Monday night?
30:05Most likely Case Keenum. They've only had one practice because it's a Monday night game.
30:09So we'll see. Bajant did not practice in concussion protocol.
30:12So no indication what level of progress he's making through that.
30:16Obviously, Caleb Williams feels far-fetched, even though I don't think Ben Johnson's ruled that out.
30:20But it looks like Keenum is the most likely quarterback for the Bears Monday night.
30:25I mean, you know concussions. I mean, you've been through this enough with various different guys.
30:30Like, Bajant could be okay today and could be cleared on Sunday to play Monday.
30:35That's a possibility. Concussion protocol is not something we feel comfortable predicting because everybody goes through it at a different rate.
30:41If Tyson Bajant clears concussion protocol, and this assumes Caleb Williams isn't cleared to play, if Tyson Bajant clears concussion protocol, I believe that they will play him.
30:50If not, it would be Keenum. Either way, I don't think it really, for our purposes, I don't think it matters.
30:56I think you're lowing expectations for everyone across the board.
31:00It's Caleb or not Caleb, and whoever else is not Caleb sort of doesn't really matter.
31:05I prefer Bajant to Case Keenum, but it's your point.
31:08Look, Case Keenum, he's a veteran. He'll be all right.
31:11There's a little bit of YOLO to Case Keenum.
31:14So hopefully he can get the ball to Luther Burden and maybe somewhere, much like fantasy managers of Drake London were rewarded
31:20in week three after two weeks of tough production, I'm hoping for the same from Colston Loveland somehow, some way against the Eagles.
31:27But it's worth noting the Bears have an implied team total of 18.5 points.
31:32That is the fourth lowest in week number three.
31:35If you're not streaming defenses and you've been starting the Eagles, you feel a little bit better about that than you might have.
31:42A thousand percent, especially in a home game in prime time under the lights with a backup quarterback coming in there.
31:48Hey, speaking of my terrible commanders, which I was thinking about in my mind, how close is Sam Darnold to returning?
31:55Like, would he play this weekend? Or do you think the Seahawks are like, eh, it's Washington.
32:00We got this one. Let's save Sam for one more week.
32:03Let's let him get a little bit healthier. They feel like he's made a lot of progress over the past week, and
32:10he was actually elevated to a full practice yesterday.
32:13So he would like to play, and they would like him to be able to play.
32:18They're not going to force it, certainly. They feel very, very good about what Drew Locke has done and what he can do this week, if need be.
32:27But they want to give Darnold a chance to play.
32:30So they want to see how he reacted to the work he did yesterday in practice, what he can do today, and then they'll make a decision.
32:38I would, my feeling on this is you'll probably have clarity at some point today.
32:43The Seahawks will probably tell us today who's playing quarterback.
32:46Darnold has said yesterday, I think the word he said was striving.
32:50I'm striving to play Sunday. So if he hits the benchmarks they need him to hit, then yeah, I don't think they're
32:56going to hold him out one more week just for, you know, just to be extra careful.
33:02If he can play, I think he'll play. But it's quick, and it's quicker than they thought it would be.
33:08And so they want to just make sure. So I think today's a really big day for Sam Darnold to figure out
33:15if he's going to be able to go this week or not.
33:18Yeah, well, you know what? And the truth is, is that in some ways it sort of doesn't make a difference because
33:25you're starting Jackson Smith and Jigba if you and I were under center for Seahawks.
33:30So that sort of doesn't matter. The one place where I do think it becomes interesting, and we talked to Stefania Bell
33:37a little bit earlier, where she's expecting Jadarian Price to play, but maybe be a little bit limited.
33:42So you're starting him, although I have him as a low-end flex in this one.
33:47So you're potentially starting him in a matchup where the Seahawks are seven and a half point favorites.
33:53Ian Rappaport just tweeted this out. I'm sure you're aware of this.
33:56Commander's quarterback, Jaden Daniels, will not be placed on injured reserve.
34:00Sources confirmed to at Rappsheet and me. After imaging on his dislocated left shoulder was evaluated and multiple specialists were consulted.
34:06The consensus is that Daniels now will be considered week to week.
34:10Both Daniels and the commander say they are aiming for him to return as soon as possible.
34:15So that is, again, from Adam Schefter and Ian Rappaport.
34:18I just wanted to bring that up because that's good news.
34:22I mean, you know, anyway, if you have Jaden Daniels, especially if you can just put him on IR, but like, I
34:29think a lot of people thought, like, there goes the season or this is going to be a month, maybe two months.
34:35So the fact they're not putting him on IR, Dan, I think is probably a positive sign for both the commanders and Daniels' managers.
34:43It is. Coming out of last week's game, what they wanted to do was several days of testing on the elbow and
34:50see what else was damaged and all that kind of stuff.
34:53So having done that, it seems like they've made a plan that it'll be rest and rehab as opposed to surgery.
35:00Surgery, the possibility of surgery would have been to, I'm not a doctor, get Stefania back on here, the, you know, like
35:06stabilize things, make it less likely to happen again.
35:09Because that's what's alarming, right? Like he didn't take a big hit.
35:13He just kind of fell on his butt and like embraced himself and got hurt.
35:18If you can't fall on your butt in the NFL safely, then that's a big problem.
35:23So they've figured that at this point that it's something that they can bring him back from without surgery.
35:28They'll be careful, obviously. But that is good news for the commanders, for anybody who drafted Jaden Daniels in fantasy.
35:35If he's not on IR, that's, you know, IR is four games.
35:38So we know he's going to miss this game.
35:41They've already announced Marcus Mariota is going to play.
35:44So you can kind of time it out in your head.
35:47Do I need to get through the next two or three weeks without him at the most after this week?
35:54So yeah, good news. You know, you're still going to have that risk.
35:58That's the thing. And the commanders feel the same way.
36:01Like you're going, he's going to be a player that carries that injury risk all the time.
36:06But yes, it's good for their season and for, you know, people's fantasy seasons that he's coming back.
36:11Let's stay in the NFC East here with quarterback injuries.
36:15And Jackson Dart lost for the season, unfortunately, for at least for the regular season.
36:19They, you know, I love how they put it that way.
36:23So we'll see. I'm just curious, as you talk to people around the Giants organization, how do they feel?
36:29Like, obviously, Jameis Winston did not look good in relief of Jackson Dart on Monday night.
36:34But as you're sitting here doing, yeah, doing some cologne there.
36:37Well, it's Jameis Winston. Yeah. No, I know. Yeah, it's good.
36:40What's your expectations from a fantasy perspective? Is it just, is it more just him giving, squirting himself with perfume?
36:47It's going to smell great. We know that. Yes, sir.
36:50Jameis Winston. We've known this guy for over a decade.
36:53He is probably going to have a game where he throws for 300 yards and three touchdowns.
36:58And he's probably going to have a game where he throws for 150 yards and three interceptions.
37:03So, like, do you feel? The full Jameis experience.
37:06Right. So it was horrendous on Monday. I will say this.
37:09Like, talking to people there, the coaches there felt like this was a Jackson Dart specific game plan they had for this game.
37:17And obviously that didn't fit Jameis' strengths and weaknesses very well.
37:20And so with a week to prepare as the starter and with a game plan more tailored around what he does and
37:27doesn't do well, it won't look as bad as it did Monday night.
37:31And I think that's fair until we see otherwise.
37:34It has to be better. Look, Malik Naber's injury doesn't sound like it's going to be too terrible.
37:39I guess he was full practice yesterday, too. So that's encouraging.
37:43They like their running backs. They're using all their running backs.
37:46You know, Cam Skadaboo is kind of the head of a committee at this point.
37:51But, you know, they feel like they can get this done with Isaiah Likely, who's a guy that Jameis continued to target,
37:58even though he didn't find him as consistently as Jackson.
38:0133% target share. Isaiah Likely had a 33%. Yeah.
38:03He's real. He's a real part of their plans.
38:06If you believe that offense can continue to function effectively, then you can count on Isaiah Likely continuing to be an effective fantasy producer for you.
38:14They are very, very high on him and everything he did this offseason to get ready.
38:19So, you know, we'll see. There are far worse backup quarterback situations than this one, but it's not ideal.
38:25And the run game should be limited to a greater extent because Jameis doesn't offer anything in that department to the extent that Jackson Dart does.
38:33I mean, if I was Ben Johnson, I'd rather have Jameis Winston than Tyson Bajant or Case Keenum.
38:39I mean, you know, like just as for one example that we were just talking about.
38:44Right. Like didn't Jameis Winston with his free agent last year, they could have signed him.
38:49Yeah. Yeah. So, listen, to your point, we were talking over each other, so I don't know if anyone heard this, but
38:56last week with Jameis Winston under center, Isaiah Likely had a team high 33% target share.
39:00So, you're right. There is a connection there between Winston and Likely.
39:04He's my tight end eight this week. Malik Nabors, I have his low end wide receiver two.
39:09Again, it's partially the injury. Partially hasn't looked 100%.
39:12It's also partially the Winston thing. I'm at wide receiver 18.
39:16You're still starting him, but lower end wide receiver two, not the wide receiver one.
39:20And hopefully you thought you might be getting. Potential for greatness, right?
39:24I mean, we saw him produce with what was left of Russell Wilson at one point last year.
39:30So, yeah. If Malik Nabors is healthy, then he can elevate the whole offense.
39:34And to your point about Scadaboo, again, all those guys are touching the ball, but Scadaboo's the head of the committee.
39:40I'm at running back 23. So, low end RB2, high end flex.
39:44Speaking of running backs, let's move over to Pittsburgh.
39:47And I want to talk about Rico Dowdle, who's banged up.
39:50And as long as we're talking about injuries in the Steelers camp, not only running back Rico Dowdle, but wide receiver Michael Pittman.
39:58Can you talk to me a little bit about how the Steelers tend to attack these two injuries of key players for
40:04an offense that so far has really struggled? That's putting it mildly.
40:08I was at their game in Foxborough last week, and I've been sentenced to go see them again this week against the Bengals.
40:15What did you do wrong? I don't know. I've got to talk to some people.
40:20Look, Rico Dowdle has a toe injury, hasn't practiced this week.
40:23Yeah, Seth Markman. Let's find out what's going on there.
40:26Yeah. We'll smooth things over. It's too early in the season for vendettas.
40:30But no, Rico Dowdle has a toe injury, hasn't practiced.
40:34So, you know, watch that today. If he doesn't practice today, then that doesn't look good, obviously, for Sunday.
40:39That means probably a full-time-ish kind of role for Jalen Warren.
40:43Could mean some carries for the rookie Eli Heidenreich.
40:46I got a Heidenreich. I don't know exactly how they divvy it up, but I believe that Jalen Warren would be the
40:52primary beneficiary if Rico Dowdle can't go. He's my running back 21, by the way, Jalen Warren.
40:58I agree with you. So I have him at Pitt.
41:01He's got a shoulder issue, but he's been able to practice, limited practice the last two days.
41:06So Warren is, he should be, unless there's a setback, he should be okay to go.
41:11Michael Pittman, limited practice both days this week. So that's an improvement over last week.
41:16He's a guy that has historically played, you know, like he hasn't missed too many games.
41:21And we've seen him be on the injury report and still play, you know, throughout his career in Indianapolis.
41:27So I think they feel good about that to the extent that they feel good about anything on that offense right now.
41:33This is a case, Matthew, where like nothing, it's like Green Bay last night.
41:38Like nothing's really going to work if the offensive line can't get figured out.
41:42And they came out of that game Sunday in Foxborough really puzzled about what to do.
41:47They felt like they had made some major corrections in their run game from week one.
41:52And it did not show up, certainly in the game.
41:55So I know I'm talking to some people there this week ahead of the game.
42:00You know, there's a lot of talk about play volume.
42:03And you've heard all the press conference stuff from McCarthy and from Aaron Rodgers about what to do about it.
42:09You know, we'll see. But that Bengals defensive front looks legit.
42:12And it's not going to be an easy time for the Steelers to get their run game going, especially if they're shorthanded.
42:19Yeah. I look forward to the press conference. If they end up losing this game to Cincinnati, a divisional game, I look
42:26forward to the press conferences between McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers.
42:29I don't know. Like, I feel like people, I feel like Dan, and we only have 10 minutes left here.
42:35So just very quickly on this, but I feel like people forget, like, the McCarthy-Rogers era in Green Bay ended poorly.
42:42Everyone was like, oh, they're reunion. They're back together.
42:45Oh, and so I'm like, that ended poorly. I think people forget that.
42:49You know, they remember the good times and they won a Super Bowl together.
42:53But, you know. That was 16 years ago they won that Super Bowl together.
42:57Yeah. It's, there was a little bit of the passive aggressive going on in those press conferences Sunday and throughout the week.
43:04So interested to see how this goes. Because that didn't happen last year when Mike Tomlin was the coach.
43:10No, it certainly did not. Yeah, we'll see. All right.
43:13From Michael Pittman injury to the team that Michael Pittman used to play for, the Indianapolis Colts.
43:18Look at me. I'm like a professional host and all that.
43:22I'm like a young Dan Graziano out here. Hey, Alec Pierce got hurt.
43:26Once he left the game, Josh Downs had a 36% target share and he ran over 40% of his routes from the perimeter.
43:33After Josh Downs on the step chart, you've got Keenan Allen.
43:36You've got Laquan Treadwell. They signed Darius Slayton. Ashton Doolin is still there.
43:40Dan, as you talk to people around the Colts organization, is it just basically going to be Downs, Tyler Warren, and Jonathan Taylor?
43:48Or could you see somebody else emerge in the absence of Alec Pierce?
43:52It's pretty much going to be Downs, Tyler Warren, and Jonathan Taylor.
43:55You know, Keenan Allen can do some things, but I don't believe he's in a position where he's going to be a
44:02consistent producer, you know, on your fantasy team. Alec Pierce, they had big plans for Alec Pierce this year, as indicated by the contract they gave him.
44:11Sure. But he was hurt all through the summer.
44:13He was recovering from surgery. So they weren't really able to install all the stuff they were planning at the beginning of the offseason with Alec Pierce.
44:22But they knew for a fact he could be the deep threat.
44:25He could still do that for them because he always has.
44:29Now that's gone. And they really don't have a one-for-one replacement there.
44:33They believe that Slayton is a guy that can do some of that, that can at least establish some kind of threat down the field.
44:40Not to the extent that Pierce does, but maybe to the extent to get people off of Downs a little bit.
44:47Downs is a do-everything guy. I believe you will see him targeted heavily in this passing game, especially with Alec Pierce out.
44:54As you mentioned, he already has been. He's a player they're extremely high on.
44:58They think he can do a lot of different things.
45:01Warren, same thing, even to the point where he's been, like last year, their tush-push guy, right, on the short yardage on the goal line.
45:09So value there. And obviously you know about Taylor.
45:12But what they're looking for out of guys like Slayton or Keenan Allen or even Doolin is just get some of the
45:18attention away from the primary guys so the defenses can't clamp down on them.
45:23But the intention will be, I believe if you got Downs cheaply in your draft, that's going to be something that pays off here in the short term.
45:31And probably all season long, considering how little Alec Pierce has been able to practice with the team.
45:37I have Josh Downs as my wide receiver 27 this week.
45:40I have Tyler Warren as a top six tight end play.
45:44Keenan Allen's a wide receiver 57, like if you're in a super deep league and you're truly desperate.
45:49But yeah, it's basically Downs is, I think, a rock-solid wide receiver three with wide receiver two upside.
45:55Tyler Warren is a top six play. And then, of course, Jonathan Taylor is a no-brainer start wherever you might have him.
46:02Last question for me, Mr. Graziano. And I want to go to Arizona with Marvin Harrison, who's just, it just, you know,
46:09it's been frustrating throughout his professional career where he just hasn't lived up to the hype.
46:14Is that his fault that he has a famous last name and he has a famous father?
46:19I don't know that it's his fault. I don't know that they've always put him in the best positions to succeed.
46:25But either way, regardless of whether it's his fault, the team's fault, or just a combination thereof, Marvin Harrison came to the league with extremely high expectations.
46:34And I think it's fair to say those have not yet been met.
46:38So I have two questions for you. And the first one is just on this Cardinals team.
46:43Like, as you talk to people around the league, especially in Arizona, like, what are their thoughts about Marvin Harrison?
46:49Marvin Harrison, this is a crazy stat. Marvin Harrison is tied for fifth on the Cardinals in targets.
46:55He is tied with Tyler Algier. Through the first two games of the season, Marvin Harrison and Tyler Algier have the same number of targets.
47:03Targets are earned. Dan Graziano. Yes. I don't know if this is Harrison's fault, if this is Jacoby Brissett's fault, if this is Mike LaFleur's fault.
47:11I don't know. But it ain't working in Arizona for Marvin Harrison.
47:14What are the Cardinals' thoughts about their star wide receiver?
47:18And do you think he ends the season wearing a Cardinals uniform?
47:21I think more likely than not, he does. But right now, he's not playing well.
47:26And that's, he's not getting open to the extent that they want him to.
47:30They're continuing to work with him. They want him to be a part of the offense, a bigger part of the offense, obviously, than he has been.
47:39But it's not really clicking with him right now.
47:41So, you know, good coaches continue to work on that and see what they can do to fix it.
47:47I thought going into the season, my comparison was like what Mike LaFleur was doing in L.A.
47:53last year with Devontae Adams. At the very least, he could fill that role like down near the goal line, right?
47:59But that's a lot to ask. Devontae Adams is a special player because of his releases off the line and all that kind of stuff.
48:07That's what worked there. But he hasn't been able to do that.
48:11Michael Wilson's a player they like a lot. Obviously, they paid him.
48:14And frankly, right now, he's probably the better player than Marvin Harrison.
48:18So, obviously, they're going to go to him. It's also an offense that's going to run through the tight end.
48:24That is their best player, Trey McBride, on offense.
48:27So, that's always going to – even if Marvin Harrison starts playing better, this is still going to be an offense that
48:34centers on the tight end as the number one producer.
48:37So, they have to sort this all out. New coaching staff, as you mentioned.
48:41Some guys come more quickly in a new system than others.
48:45But right now, the problem with Marvin Harrison in Arizona is that he's not playing as well as they need him to
48:52play in order to involve him in the offense.
48:54So, a lot of that's going to be on him to fix the aspects of his game that need to be fixed.
49:01To your point about potentially playing elsewhere, this is a situation that – I don't believe the Arizona Cardinals are out there trying to trade Marvin Harrison Jr.
49:10I believe that it's a situation that teams look at who like the player and go, oh, well, they're not really using him.
49:17I wonder if he's available. And then they call.
49:20So, yeah, I think you're going to hear those rumors and those conversations.
49:24But right now, my understanding is the Cardinals would just like to get Marvin Harrison playing better and become a bigger part of their offense.
49:32That's interesting because you could sort of see like, hey, it's a new coaching staff, new regime, somebody that didn't – he isn't their guy, right?
49:40They didn't draft this guy. And, you know, if they could get something for him, you know, maybe it's best for both the team and the player.
49:48Again, they feel good about McBride. They feel good about Wilson.
49:51They could probably get something decent for Harrison despite the lack of production so far this season.
49:57I mean, you tell me what his trade market is.
50:00But it feels like a fresh start might be better for both sides even though you say a trade isn't imminent.
50:06I mean, so – It's too early in the season.
50:09Let me ask you this. Are they happy? I understand they're not happy with the production.
50:14But are they happy with the player? Because sometimes – I mean, I think A.J.
50:19Brown in Philadelphia, probably the most recent example. Sometimes it's just like, you know, we just want the guy out of the
50:26building because he's a pain in the ass, right?
50:29Or whatever it is. Is there friction there behind the scenes or is it just like, hey, man, like you're better than
50:35this and we need production out of you? If there's friction behind the scenes, I haven't heard about it.
50:41I don't get the impression that that's what's going on.
50:44They're two weeks into the season. You know, he could take off.
50:48You know, you say maybe he's not their guy.
50:51It was the fourth pick in the draft. He was everybody's guy.
50:55Like this was not a prospect that people were debating.
50:58It was like him or Malik Nabors. That was the debate.
51:01But everybody thought those two were both going to be great.
51:05So I would give this one time. If you have him, he's probably not startable right now.
51:10Not at all. I don't believe I would be – if I were a fantasy manager that had him and if I
51:17were the Arizona Cardinals, I would not be looking to sell low on a player of this pedigree.
51:22Yeah, so I think you're right. I think he is not startable until further notice.
51:27And I actually don't mind dropping him in a very shallow league.
51:31If you're in a 10-team, two-wide receiver league, that's fine.
51:34I'm probably not – if he's on my waiver wire, I'm probably not picking him up.
51:39But yeah, I think probably hopefully patience and, you know, hope springs eternal because we do think the Cardinals are a team
51:45that will be throwing quite a bit this year.
51:48They do. And hopefully Harrison turns it up. So the game this weekend, is it in Pittsburgh or Cincinnati?
51:54I think it's Pittsburgh, right? Yes. It's in Pittsburgh.
51:57Yes. You get to head to the lovely city of Pittsburgh.
52:00Yeah, I like Pittsburgh. It's a great city, by the way.
52:04Yeah. You and I had dinner once in Pittsburgh.
52:07That's true. Yeah. We were there for a Sunday night game a couple years ago, right?
52:12Yeah. Yeah. Me and you and some of my NBC crew.
52:15So that was a good time. Well, listen, Dan Graziano, you've done it all.
52:19You've said it all. We will all follow you on social media at Dan Graziano ESPN.
