0:29That's like asking if all soccer players are the same.
0:32Take Messi, the most decorated player ever. Is there any other player who has achieved that?
0:36No, just him. Now take Duracell. Is there any other battery with power boost ingredients inside?
0:41No, just Duracell. Remember, goats only trust goats because they're built different and Messi only trusts Duracell.
0:46Hey, this is Taintedale and you listen to the Podfather.
0:49This is the Mind of Mansion. I'm here live with Davis Mattek.
0:53That's right. One of the best ball players, one of the best ball analysts, maybe the best best ball analyst out there.
0:59We have a lot of best ball questions that we have.
1:03We're switching over. It's true. This is the moment.
1:05The end of June, we're switching over into seasonal leagues from Dynasty and a big part of that transition is best ball.
1:12And so Davis is here with me today and we're going to talk about Jordan Tyson.
1:17We're going to talk about Cam Scadaboo. We're going to talk about Roma Dunze.
1:21We're going to talk about some teams that we're targeting, teams that we're staying away from.
1:26It's all coming up on the My Dimension Program.
1:28Davis, Davis, Davis. We just finished watching, you and I finished watching our England team.
1:33We won. Quite a game? That was quite a game.
1:36I was on with some English people and they were despondent.
1:39And I'm like this, I think, compared to them, I'm like this enthusiastic, hopeful, faithful fan.
1:44And they are so negative, dude. They are so negative.
1:47They're like, it's over. We're done. We're cooked. We're terrible.
1:50And then as soon as they moved Declan Rice to right back, I was like, guys, it is on.
1:55Keep watching. Don't lose faith. That was the first World Cup match wherein England was trailing at half and ended up winning.
2:02First time ever. Ever. Unless I misheard from the broadcast.
2:05I mean, let me double check. But I believe that was...
2:08Shut up. You don't have to double check. I believe you.
2:11I'm just saying that makes sense. Again, this is why so many England fans...
2:16They have one prior win. One win, two draws, seven losses trailing at the break.
2:20So this is... Oh, no, no. This is literally...
2:23Sorry. This just updated on Google. That was including today's results.
2:26It was the first time ever. Well, either way.
2:29I'm glad we talked about it. This is great.
2:31This feels good. Even if they don't go all the way, I want this to be an emotionally positive experience for the people in England.
2:39Because they are so down on this team. When I was over there, I kept asking so many people, what do you think of the England team?
2:47And they... I don't want to talk about it.
2:50I don't want to talk about it. Like, they don't...
2:53It's almost like they're cursed. They feel cursed. They want nothing to do with the team at...
2:58You know, before the tournament. As soon as the team starts struggling at all, they want nothing to do with it.
3:04They're like, here we go again. Here we go again.
3:07And then you can almost feel the players know that that is the sentiment.
3:11And then that is an extra weight on them.
3:14And then so that everything... When they got the second goal, spoiler alert, and won.
3:18It was just... It was beyond ecstatic. It was this combination of relief and ecstasy.
3:23And I was feeling it, man. I was feeling it.
3:26I have friends and relatives that are from England.
3:28I was just over there. And I've been watching a lot of Premier League.
3:32And there's a lot of English players in the Premier League.
3:36And, you know, I have an affinity for this team, man.
3:39I'm excited to see what happens. Because they're going to be a match-up nightmare for the other big clubs.
3:45For the Argentinas. Although if you think about it, the Round of 32.
3:49I mean, it's really... It's actually the same thing as the Slovenia goal.
3:52The Jude Bellingham goal from the 2022 World Cup.
3:55Like, England's going to go out if they don't get this goal.
3:59So, very cathartic. But, I mean, you know, given the state of the tournament, basically the same thing.
4:04I'm so impressed with this World Cup. It's been best-case scenario.
4:07The outcomes, the games, going into penalties, the drama, everything.
4:10And even when it's a blowout, even when France wins 4-1, it's such a pleasure to watch.
4:15Paraguay, Australia was like an affront to the game of soccer.
4:19But other than that, they've pretty much all been bangers.
4:22Yeah, it has been. Yep. Yep. So, we're going to talk some fantasy football.
4:26And the reason why we're talking soccer to start is because it's the end of June, beginning of July.
4:31And there really is nothing new. There's no new stimulus.
4:34There's nothing that is changing any assumptions about anybody, about anything.
4:38So, what we're going to do today is we're going to do our best to have some original thoughts and takes on team building, on players.
4:45We're going to dig deep. I think Davis and I coming together could actually give some unique positions that are very tough
4:52to find at this particular moment on the NFL calendar.
4:55We're going to try. We're going to try. You know, we're going to mine deep.
4:59We're going to do our best. We're going to do our best.
5:03We'll try. We will try. Let's just get it over with.
5:06I want to know right away. Who do you have the most exposure to?
5:10Top of your portfolio. Who is it? Top of my portfolio.
5:14I've probably done about 1,200 drafts already. All right.
5:161,200. Last for you, man. Terrence Ferguson, the backup tight end for the Los Angeles Rams, is my highest exposure player.
5:23Easy on the backup. Easy on the backup. We'll see.
5:26I think Terrence Ferguson is probably the third wide receiver, and he will finish third on the Rams or fourth, depending on Kyron Williams.
5:33He'll finish third or fourth on the Rams in touchdowns and hopefully scores like, or on targets, and then hopefully scores like eight touchdowns.
5:40That's my goal. The depth chart is wide open.
5:43It's not a high bar to out-snap Colby Parkinson, Tyler Higbee.
5:46He has the size. He's definitely a better athlete, better receiver, has the explosiveness.
5:50This is an offense that features the tight end after it features the wide receiver, but certainly they feature the tight end
5:57in terms of lots of 12 personnel, more 13 personnel than almost any other team.
6:01And there's been a drumbeat. There's been a subtle drumbeat in L.A.
6:05to get Ferguson on the field. You've read these newsrooms.
6:08When the Ferguson buzz is humming along in the background, you hear it.
6:12You hear it. You're so exposed. I mean, it must make you so happy when you hear someone else say, yeah, we
6:18really need to get Ferguson more involved. You hear that from multiple people in L.A.
6:23Yeah. I mean, Sean McVay said, talking about the team in February, he said he's a receiver.
6:28He can play all the spots. He can play all three of the different tight end spots we have in the offense,
6:34and he can play all the wide receiver spots we have in the offense.
6:38Now, that's a very February quote for a coach to say about a player.
6:43Like, he probably, this sentence after that, probably started saying something really nice about Colby Parkinson.
6:47But it's just the type of asymmetric risk where he's going to play anyway.
6:52He scored three touchdowns as a rookie, which is, like, not the worst outcome.
6:56A lot of your 18th round picks are not going to score three touchdowns anyway.
7:00And he's, I mean, Devontae Adams is now 33, playing with the bad hammy.
7:04Like, there's a lot of route upside with Terrence Ferguson, for sure.
7:08The people inside the building in Los Angeles say that Terrence Ferguson has some of the best breakout potential.
7:14And they want to get him the ball. They want him to take a step forward.
7:18They're looking forward to him taking a step forward.
7:21He is being groomed to be the tight end one there in Los Angeles.
7:25He's more explosive than Max Clare, longer term for Dynasty.
7:28I have a ton of Terrence Ferguson. In fact, I just dropped an article on our sub stack and on Patreon, patreon.com
7:35slash podfather, where I listed my top 10 Dynasty stacks.
7:38And stacks in Dynasty are a hell of a lot harder to get, especially multiple of the same stack in Dynasty.
7:44That's just not that common. I'm in, like, close to 30 leagues and maybe have 12 to 15 actual stacks.
7:50It's a very difficult thing to have. One of the stacks that I featured in that top 10, Matthew Stafford, Terrence Ferguson.
7:56I'm not kidding. I'm not kidding, Davis. I'm not kidding.
7:59I mean, I think they have very interrelated ceilings because Stafford had a 7.7 TD rate last year, which is, like, a
8:06percent and a half higher than league average. And that's why Stafford finishes a top 10 quarterback.
8:11The great stat is that the year Cooper Cup, one Offensive Player of the Year, Stafford didn't finish as a top 10 quarterback, which is just very funny.
8:19But because the offense was so efficient last year, I think he finishes, like, the quarterback three.
8:24One MVP, right? He was only the MVP. Well, in my mind, Drake May had already won it.
8:30So I honestly, sometimes I forget who actually won it.
8:33That was the first time that I saw my daughter get visibly upset, like physically ill over a sports outcome of any kind.
8:40It had nothing to do with anything on the field.
8:43I wasn't here for the Super Bowl. I was actually at the Super Bowl, so I don't know exactly how she was reacting during the Super Bowl.
8:51I think she was fine. When she found out that Stafford won MVP over Drake May, she was not happy, dude.
8:57She thought that was complete bullshit. I mean, it was.
9:00I mean, Drake May probably should have won. Of course.
9:03I thought it was. Yeah, that was a, hey, this guy's been in the league forever.
9:08So this is a career achievement award as much as it is the MVP award.
9:12And it's also a signal that, oh, it's not, you're not quite ready yet.
9:16It's not quite your time. You're a little bit too young.
9:20You're a little bit too, you know, inexperienced to be earning this kind of hardware.
9:24You're not quite ready, son. You wait, your time, your time will come.
9:28It's, there was a, there was a, there was a classic, like a patronizing, your time will come award to Matthew Stafford.
9:35And that's just, it's not, it's not what should have happened.
9:38Like he wasn't, he wasn't the best player. So this episode is brought to you by Google Chrome.
9:43You think, you know, a browser, but Gemini and Chrome, that's new.

10:36Tell me where you are on these rookies, right?
10:39You got Jordan Tyson and you got Jadarian Price.
10:41These are two rookies that I've seen steamed up quite aggressively in best ball.
10:45And I'm interested to hear your take on them because every year rookies are a source of value, but they're also a way to waste valuable capital.
10:53Well, yeah. I mean, rookies are kind of the ultimate barbell style bet where some of the biggest busts in fantasy football
11:00the last five years have been rookies and then some of the biggest fantasy football hits.
11:05So you kind of are taking the good with the bad and tossing.
11:09I mean, this year's rookie class being quite bad, both in terms of what we thought about them coming in and the
11:15draft capital spent changes the bet a little bit.
11:18But there are plenty of guys in this class that I do like more than the market.
11:23Okay. What about Jadarian Price? So Price is like a guy, I mean, was not that good of a prospect, but in
11:30some ways, how can you really tell, right? The sample size on him is so limited.
11:34He clearly felt he was going to get drafted high enough that he didn't need to do too much of the combine.
11:41He ended up being right, made himself a ton of money, never transfers away from Notre Dame to get more NIL money.
11:47Again, ends up being vindicated in that as well.
11:50Gets to play in a college football playoff, yada, yada.
11:53But he was the 32nd pick. Like I have no real opinions on how good Jadarian Price is, but he was the 32nd pick.
12:00And I think the Seahawks are probably going to play him.
12:04They have to play him. He's the 32nd pick.
12:06They are talking a lot about George Helani though.
12:09George Helani draftable for you? I do not take him.
12:12Although, I mean, like George Helani did force Ashton Gentty, what was he?
12:16The number six overall pick into a timeshare. Gentty's first two seasons at Boise State.
12:20So maybe there's more there than I'm thinking. That is a great point.
12:24I have not yet made that point. That's the first time I've heard that point, and it's true.
12:29It is. It is. It is actually literally true.
12:32If you have to go back and look, Helani was like the passing down back the two years that they played together
12:39at Boise State, which is kind of interesting. He is interesting.
12:42And if we're being fair and we're not cherry picking drum beats, there is a George Helani drum beat in Seattle.
12:48You've heard this. There is. But I mean, it's just like, it's like, it's like I said with the T-Ferg thing, coaches
12:55will say anything before, before the bullets start flying.
12:57They'll, they'll literally say anything, dude. They'll be like, yeah, he looks great.
13:01Yeah. Like they, like they're the worst guy, you know, you could probably go pull some quote from summer OTAs where he
13:08sees like, you know, I'm trying to think of a tear.
13:11Like go back and look last off season at like what the Raiders coaches were saying about Dante Thornton and Jack Bash.
13:18And I bet you can find some super bullish stuff.
13:21That's a good example. Dan, that's a good example.
13:23That's true. Yeah. There, well, the best example I've heard, because in terms of drum beats that are false drum beats, fake
13:30drum beats, it would be, you know, AI music is now big.
13:33It's like AI, it's like an AI song is, uh, is this, this key on Coleman, the multiple quotes on key on
13:40Coleman and how that, how he's a key piece of the offense and how we're designing plays for him.
13:46Exactly. That's all. That's the fakest shit I've ever heard.
13:49That is, there doesn't, nothing is faker than that.
13:51All right. So who, where, where, who do you, who are you more interested in at ADP?
13:56Is it Jordan Tyson or is it Jeterian Price?
13:59Uh, I'm more interested in Tyson mostly just because the round where these guys go, I generally need a wide receiver and
14:06I like Tyson so much more than the two guys who go directly after him, Marvin Harrison Jr.
14:11And Parker Washington. So it's kind of like a big firewall.
14:14My modeling stuff also really liked Jordan Tyson. However, the rookie or the rookie, the true freshman season at Colorado is kind
14:21of like, uh, how do you choose to evaluate stuff?
14:24Cause he did have a super early breakout, like a 28% dominator rating.
14:28And then you look at the raw numbers and you're like, yeah, he had a 28% dominator rating, like 486 yards and four touchdowns.
14:35I, if I, cause the Colorado team was so bad.
14:38So I, it's, it's kind of like, I, he's a little bit of a mystery box with the soft tissue injuries and stuff too.
14:45Oh, he totally is. And then you have, it's interesting how, again, it's been months and we've been hardened.
14:51Now a lot of our opinions have been hardened and, you know, sort of solidified that it's almost a foregone conclusion.
14:57Now that Chuck is good. He's going to break out.
15:00Right. It's like, wait, it's actually not. It's just every day that goes by solidify.
15:04Chuck is like, I got the guy that's going to be, he's going to, he's going to light it up.
15:10Uh, and you just want all these saints. It is true.
15:14I want all the saints. That's all it is.
15:16But 2024 season for Jordan Tyson, 75 catches, 1100 yards, 30% target share, 65% catch rate.
15:21He was, he was awesome. He was completely awesome in 2024.
15:24He could have come out like, so I love that.
15:27And, and the early production, age 18 production. Also with the breakout finder app, you'll notice the dynamic score.
15:33That's a lot of special teams production driven and, and, and rushing yards for wide receivers found that to be predictive and,
15:40uh, had over 350 special teams yards at Colorado too.
15:43So you love that. You love to see that any wide receiver that I, that, that plays special teams.
15:48That is an indicator that they have instincts on the football field that go beyond just route running and the art of being a wide receiver.
15:56And that, that usually means they're better yak players in general and, and just, you know, are, are, are more efficient.
16:02But in that season though, at Colorado, he didn't play a full season.
16:06So, but that's part of it. It's like, there, there's some injury concerns there.
16:10I do like Devon Valle. I want to be, you know, full disclosure here.
16:14I do, I, I, every time I watched the saints, this is my one that I, I, for one player, I give myself an eye test waiver.
16:22You ever do that? I mean, I, I watch all the guys by, by and large.
16:27Yeah. Like I, I, I, I want to know, I want to know what I'm getting myself into.
16:33Well, in terms of like, uh, I, I know that the Valle numbers weren't great, but he made a ton of spectacular catches.
16:39And he is like a billion years old. This is actually true.
16:43Devon Valle is so old that when I was building out a rookie prospect model, his breakout age, like kind of wrecked
16:50the whole thing and change the scale of which it was scaling guys at breakout age because his breakout age was 26.
16:56So, so it just, it, it like, I like basically had to like throw Devon Valle out of the, of the modeling because his age wrecked it.
17:04You have to throw them out. You have to throw them out.
17:08Yeah, I did. And it's funny because he, his compound player profiler is Van Jefferson, which has a, there's a bunch of reasons why that is Van Jefferson.
17:16Also very late breakout. And that's fine. But in the right player, in the right situation, like the saints are one of those teams.
17:23They're going to, they're going to play more 11 personnel than most teams, right?
17:27You really think they're going to just, it's going to be Oscar Delp out there.
17:32They don't have an inline blocker that they really want to give a lot of snaps to.
17:37I kind of think it might be Oscar Delp.
17:40I think there, there are reasons to believe Oscar Delp might be an okay player.
17:44I mean, he was blocked at Georgia by Brock Bowers and Darnell Washington.
17:48So I, so there, there is an explanatory variable for why it took him forever to play a lot of the, a lot.
17:55Cause I, I, what I do is I read a lot of the film watching stuff.
18:00Cause I don't, I don't know. And all the, all the film guys, all the like, you know, uh, draft scout guys
18:06on, on Twitter seem to like Delp and, and Rairden quite a bit.
18:10I like, I love Delp and dynasty long-term to be the tight end one there.
18:14Absolutely. But year one, as a guy, they're going to trust to put out there and all these different game situations as
18:21a rookie, you know, to, to hand, to handle edge rushers.
18:24Juwan, you know, Juwan Johnson used to be a receiver, right?
18:28Juwan Johnson was a receiver at Oregon. So teammates and, and I believe room, a literal roommates with Tyler shock at Oregon.
18:34Yeah. I mean, that, that are the, I also, I like, I like, so best ball wise love Juwan Johnson, but I,
18:41I don't project them to be a lot of heavy sets.
18:44I think they're going to be a wide open offense.
18:47And that means Valey and Jordan Tyson and Olave can all eat this year to some degree.
18:52I just think when I'm thinking about late round wide receivers that are way off people's radar, Valey's mind, who would be yours?
18:59Taequann Thornton. Yes. That's it. He's just the wide receiver three for the chiefs and no one, no one cares yet.
19:05Yeah. Also very fast. Had the, uh, the best deep ball relationship with my homes last year.
19:10Something that doesn't, doesn't really appear Xavier worthy can do not, not good enough at, uh, tracking the ball.
19:16But yeah, Taequann, Taequann would be my guy there.
19:19The might have, might've been my second, my second choice.
19:22I'm so glad you said that. Yeah. This is, this is a guy that runs.
19:26It's, you know what? I want to apologize to Taequann Thornton.
19:29Taequann, I'm sorry. I was wrong. You ran a four, two, eight, four, two, eight.
19:34People forget four, two, eight. It wasn't a four, three is actually a four, two, eight.
19:39Again, all apologies to Taequann Thornton and his family.
19:41And I got that totally wrong. It's actually a four, two, eight.
19:45Uh, yeah, we'll, we'll, we'll, we'll see between, between Vele and Thornton.
19:48We'll see. We'll see who, who, who does better this year.
19:52I think these are both great, strong, very strong end of the draft choices in best ball.
19:57Absolutely. Okay. We're going to get into it now, man.
20:00Robust RB getting into those. How often, how often, how often you go on robust RB like three running backs early.
20:06And then just say, you know what? If these guys get injured, I'm screwed.
20:10I do it quite a bit in best ball because the, the way the market has adjusted is that the breakout profiles
20:17of guys that we used to get late now go early.
20:20Like Tootin goes way ahead of Chris Rodriguez. RJ Harvey is the first drafted Broncos running back.
20:25Um, Trevion Henderson is a fourth round pick and Ramondre Stevenson is a seventh round pick.
20:30Like, you know, five years ago, Trevion Henderson would have been a ninth round pick.
20:34I mean, by shell Tootin in, in, in with this Chris Rodriguez contract, he would have been 14th round pick.
20:40No one, no one would have wanted him. You know, Harvey would have been, I guess Harvey had the touchdowns last year.
20:47So he'd cost roughly the same, but now that the profiles we like are pushed way up that they're, they're going in
20:53the same, like David Montgomery and Trevion Henderson go right next to each other.
20:57So if a running back has any potential to score points, they're just expensive now.
21:02And so the, the zero RB framework has changed so much because you're really trying to scrape by with Rico Dowdles.
21:08And funnily enough, you know, Chris Rodriguez now is a zero running back guy, uh, which, which is not very fun, right?
21:15It was way, it was, it was a lot more fun when you were able to get your, your by shell Tootin archetype.
21:22You know, uh, the, the example I come back to is 2024 chase Brown was less expensive than Zach Moss in, in best ball.
21:29So you could still get away with it back then.
21:32You really can't now. Oh, I gotta think, is there, who would be a guy, a guy that is exciting and inexpensive
21:38is almost always parked behind a guy. That's just better.
21:41Unfortunately, like Dylan Sampson. Normally we would be real excited about Dylan Sampson, but Dylan Sampson is on a terrible team and he's behind Quinshawn Judkins.
21:49And that's tough. And same, same thing is true with Ollie Gordon, terrible team behind D-Von HN.
21:54So we, and then, so it, it, it really is difficult.
21:57Well, uh, maybe, maybe Jonathan Brooks. And even that is getting closer.
22:01The gap between those guys is, is closing in.
22:04Um, I mean, best, best example, best example I can give right now would be Jaden blue for four, three speed pass
22:10catching, you know, and he's, he's totally free behind the, the, the very boring, but definitely better than him.
22:16Uh, Javante Williams like that. That's really Nick Singleton.
22:19Maybe if you're a Nick Singleton guy, which kind of ambivalent, I mean, he seems, he seems fine.
22:24He seems just fine. Yeah. He seems fine. I do like David Montgomery this year.
22:28This, I got, I just got, uh, like every time I think about David Montgomery, I'm like, uh, just turn every part
22:35of your brain off and just think about like, what do you, what is actually going to happen in football terms?
22:41They're, they're a defense first team. They brought David Montgomery in to change the identity.
22:46This is, you don't need any numbers. You need no metrics, no stats, no nothing.
22:50They signed David Montgomery to be David Montgomery and they want to be a David Montgomery centric team.
22:55So you probably should go draft David Montgomery. It's really, it's really that simple.
23:00I mean, the same thing is true. The same thing is true of like Judkins or Scadaboo and these guys.
23:06It's just like, you can kind of, or Javante, right.
23:09Or ETN. Like some of these guys where the profile is not all that appealing.
23:13The really, the, the thing that informs all of this is that wide receivers don't score points anymore.
23:18Wide receiver, wide receiver twos have become useless. Right.
23:21I mean, uh, what, I don't know who's everyone's fit.
23:24Like Tedderoy McMillan is going to score the same as five guys who go in the eighth round, you know, and it sucks.
23:31But like there used to be a real differentiation and stratification at wide receiver.
23:35Now it's like the top six guys. Maybe you can put London in there.
23:39Maybe you can put AJ Brown in there. Top eight guys, top eight guys.
23:43Then like 10 other guys who are at like real spike weeks.
23:47And then just a bunch of guys are going to average 10 and a half fantasy points per game.
23:53I got a wide receiver that could break into that tier.
23:56Hit me. Cardinal Tate. Offense probably is not good enough.
23:59So, so, I mean, Ted, like Ted showed, this is so, so hard to be a true, like 16, 17 points per
24:06game score on the 20th best offense in the league.
24:08Oh, it is predicated on, on cam war being much better than Bryce young.
24:13Yeah. Yeah. It is predicated on that. No, things have to align.
24:16Don't get me wrong. Like this is not an easy, this is not an easy player to pick out of a hat here.
24:23You have to really, things have to really kind of come together.
24:27You have to look to the right prism and okay.
24:30There, okay. I can see Cardinal Tate here. It happened, but I don't mean, I wouldn't bet.
24:35I wouldn't, I wouldn't bet on that. I was going to say, you can, you can squint, you can definitely squint and
24:41see it, but I don't feel that good about it.
24:44Who do you feel better about being that guy?
24:47Uh, so a couple of guys that I think go later who can legitimately enter that range.
24:52Um, no one agrees with me on this. I'm completely on an Island, but I think Matthew golden can be like the
24:59true target dominant, like absolute mega breakout for the Packers.
25:02Uh, I think that, Holy shit. I've never heard that.
25:05Yeah. I think Christian Watson is best in the role that he was used at before last year.
25:10I think their reliance on him was actually a function of like kind of a deeply dysfunctional offense actually.
25:16And Jaden Reed, same deal. Like Jaden Reed is who Jaden Reed is.
25:19He's explosive. He's yak. He's, but you don't, you don't really want Jaden Reed having 120 targets.
25:24I don't think, but you want him in best ball like that.
25:28That player's great for best ball. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
25:31Oh, for sure. You want him at best ball for sure.
25:34Yeah. Yeah. Uh, I think he would be an option.
25:37Um, actually I think that DK Metcalf could, if he just runs hot on touchdowns, I don't even draft a ton of DK Metcalf.
25:44Uh, cause I don't, I'm not particularly high on the Steelers.
25:47I think Pittman jr. Can like out target him in a kind of like a modal outcome.
25:52But if Rogers has is 17th in the NFL and EPA per play in this new offense, I mean, McCarthy offenses have always played faster than league average.
26:01This new OC I'm forgetting. His name is like downstream.
26:04He's a McShaney tree guy. He was, he, uh, you know, a little bit more efficient.
26:09Like, and Metcalf is just the red zone guy.
26:11He could score like 14 touchdowns, but like so much of this stuff is accurately priced, right?
26:16Like Metcalf is priced at, I think wide receiver 36.
26:19And it's like, yeah, that's probably right about where he's going to finish.
26:23If he doesn't just get real lucky. Oh, Metcalf is just, Oh God.
26:27It's sad. He's stranded. Oh God. Yeah. That's it's, man.
26:30I, what could have been with him, dude? What could have been with DK Metcalf?
26:35Oh my God. I don't, I don't know why.
26:37I don't know why he feels like someone should come and rescue him, but it's not like it's going to happen.
26:43The parallel careers of Christian Watson and Alec Pierce are stunning to me.
26:47Like they were the same guy in college. They were the same prospect.
26:51They had the same draft capital. They've had the same production.
26:54They've had the same efficiency numbers and in the, they're being thrust into this wide receiver one role that is out of their depth in the same season.
27:03I, and I'm so not an Alec Pierce drafter.
27:05Of course you're not. Cause you're not a Christian Watson drafter and he's hurt.
27:10At least Christian Watson's healthy. Yeah. Christian Watson, I think is fine.
27:13I just like, I'm the last guy on earth who thinks Matthew golden is good.
27:18Like no one, no one in the fantasy football space is willing to say, I think Matthew golden just got unlucky last
27:24year, but I I'm, I'm willing to say, I think he just got unlucky.
27:28I love it. I love that. Speaking of Christian Watson, let's, let's, let's talk about the injury finder briefly.
27:34You may draft a great team in fantasy football, but if those players get hurt, you're toast.
27:39So let's put my glasses on here and we're going to talk about injury probability because we have the data and now
27:46we have an app called the injury finder where you can look up if a player is more likely than another player
27:52to get hurt and miss significant time for your fantasy team this year, running backs, wide receivers, quarterbacks, tight ends.
27:58We have all of their precise injury probabilities. It is in the app store right now.
28:03It is five bucks for the 2026 injury probabilities.
28:06Check it out. It's injury finder.com app store, Google play five bucks.
28:09You're welcome. Pays checkout is offered by your banks and credit unions.
28:13So when you shop online at participating merchants, your cards appear in one place, ready to use and kept up to date.
28:19And the best part, your actual card number isn't shared when you check out because boundaries are healthy.
28:25Like no work emails after six. One small step for boundaries.
28:28One big leap for checkout. Pays. It checks out activation required.
28:31See pays.com to learn more terms and conditions apply.
28:34This summer serve up the cookout classics Heinz ketchup and Kraft singles.
28:38Every good burger needs a layer of perfectly melty cheese and thick, rich ketchup.
28:42We all know it's not a cookout without Heinz and Kraft.
28:45So as you might imagine already, I'm a big Tennessee drafter.
28:48I like Singleton. I like, I like it all.
28:51Give me it all. I even like it like AO manner.
28:54I like it all. Okay. Who's your team? Who's the team you're most heavily exposed to?
28:59Well, I have two teams that I draft more than anyone else.
29:03At least one player. It's the bears and the chiefs, but of crappy teams.
29:07It is the, the New York football jets. I draft a lot of the crappy jets.
29:12That's it. Cause I take a, I take a lot of Sadiq Cooper and, uh, at night, even, even Addy, right?
29:18You go, you're, you're at, you're in an Addy, Addy Mitchell.
29:21I think that the cheapest stack, the cheapest backdoor stack for me in all of fantasy that is viable is Gino Smith, Addy Mitchell.
29:28Gino Smith, Addy Mitchell. Yeah. It's gotta be a hundred percent.
29:32You love that. Yes. Yeah. I mean, I, Addy Mitchell is just like this really funny thing where he has type one
29:38diabetes and doesn't manage it very, this is actually true.
29:41I'm not making this up. He has type one diabetes and he doesn't manage it very well.
29:46And he is just like kind of a jerk.
29:49Like all of his coaches and teammates are like, yeah, he just, I don't know.
29:53He doesn't really listen. It's not super, not a real friendly guy, but it's just very funny because he's obviously super good.
30:00So if, if he ever had a come to Jesus moment where he's like, I'm going to really lock in, like, I'm
30:06going to take my, I'm going to train super hard.
30:09I'm going to do my nutrition, right? Like, I'm just going to like try super hard.
30:14Like, you know what it would be like? It would be like a George Pickens thing where like, you see the flashes
30:21and then just like, holy, this guy's the 17th best receiver in football.
30:25Like, and it would happen. I don't, I don't think he can do it because he didn't do it at Texas.
30:31He was so lackadaisical that he got traded like salary dump basically for a team that needed wide receivers.
30:36So it probably is not going to happen, but it could.
30:40If the Steelers can let go of George Pickens because of like personality differences, then the Colts can shed Adonai Mitchell, no problem to get Sauce Gardner.
30:48So I do not take that as much of it as an indictment against Adonai Mitchell as, as you might, I really didn't, I didn't see that.
30:56It's just one of those things where team X doesn't appreciate the player.
31:00I mean, if it's crazy, think about how, think about how irrational it was to swap out Pickens for DK Metcalf if
31:06you're Pittsburgh, given, especially where they are with their team build.
31:10Like it's the most, one of the more delusional of, you know, idiotic moves I've seen was to do.
31:15And the only answer, the only possible answer is no one could work with this guy.
31:20Right. And that's probably what happened with Adonai Mitchell.
31:23But what's happening in Dallas is he's found people that can work with him.
31:27It is interesting how these elite recruits that all ended up at Texas are stud athletes.
31:32And for whatever reason, they're not meshing in the NFL.
31:35A lot of them are having issues with coaches and picking up the playbook and lackadaisical play and lackadaisical practice habits.
31:41You mentioned Jaden Blue already, right? So you're basically, there is a pipeline of these lackadaisical, super talented guys to the NFL, all coming from Texas.
31:49And you and I are like, well, these guys have a hell of a lot of potential.
31:54If we just draft Matthew Golden, Adonai Mitchell, and Jaden Blue, one of these motherfuckers is going to have the light come on.
32:01Just all we need is one, dude. We just need one of these three.
32:05And the light comes on for one of these three.
32:08And we're in great shape. You could say that you could say in that case, you could say in that case, Davis,
32:14in that case, you could say that we're golden.
32:17You could. You could. Yeah. A bunch of, a bunch of undersized, very fast guys from the University of Texas who have
32:23not turned their prodigious physical gifts into fantasy football production.
32:26But you can imagine if they did, it would be very fun.
32:30And you can find them all on our fantasy teams.
32:33I do. I draft a lot of the University of Texas washouts.
32:37Jonathan Brooks. Yep. Give it. Yeah. All Gunner Helm.
32:39Love drafting Gunner Helm. What team is Gunner Helm on?
32:42Your boys. He's another Tennessee Titan that I have.
32:45Yeah. I believe he's my fourth most drafted player.
32:48It is. There it is there. Yes. It's. Thank you.
32:51Thank you. This, this, this podcast is making me very happy.
32:54It's making me very happy. Okay. So we talked about Geno Smith, Adni Mitchell, backdoor stack, super inexpensive backdoor stack.
33:00Do you have one more in mind? I mean, you can do like Mendoza, Trey Tucker.
33:05You can do Darnold and Barner. You can do Stroud and Tank Dell or Stroud and Noel Stroud and Dalton Schultz.
33:11Oh, Stroud, Dalton. You've done that? I've done that.
33:14I mean, Hey, you know, Dalton Schultz is like basically like a pretty fine guy.
33:18I finned tight in eight last year. I mean, it's not fun.
33:22You never, you never feel good when you take Dalton Schultz, but he, he's probably just going to get the job done.
33:28The math doesn't add up with the Texans for me in that I have them passing a lot less this year because
33:35the David Montgomery signing and just everything we're hearing from Houston.
33:38It, if you take out even say 50 pass attempts from their offense, it really, it really does nerf the Nico Collins
33:44is, it makes them all sort of a little bit overpriced in drafts is my, that's my problem with drafting Texans.
33:51I don't really, I have a hard time drafting any Texans receivers.
33:54I've just, it just always comes back to David Montgomery for me.
33:58Um, which is just, you know, it's not an exciting team anyway.
34:01So if that's the, if that's the place I'm going to go for running back, that that's not the one guy I'm
34:08drafting over and over again, well, I should say the entire backfield, really.
34:12It's not just Cam Scadaboo. It's also Tyrone Tracy.
34:15I love that as a hero RB move. What do you think is going to happen?
34:19Don't you think as the summer goes along, Scadaboo is just going to keep going up and up and up?
34:25I mean, I think it totally depends based on the reports that we get on his health, right?
34:31Like if the hell, if we get a negative health report, he will free fall.
34:35Oh, for sure. But that's not going to happen.
34:38I can tell you there's gonna be positive reports.
34:41Uh, I mean, I, I hope you're, I hope you're right.
34:44I saw him do a backflip. I, I, I did.
34:47I did also see a backflip. Yeah. I mean, he averaged 15 and a half points per game.
34:52They didn't add anyone. And so Singletary is a year older.
34:55Tracy like did nothing to cover himself in glory.
34:58Well, Scadaboo was out. Uh, and, and his, his price is also nestled in a range where I'm like, I don't like
35:05anyone there more than I like him. Thank you.
35:07Thank you. Okay. Okay. You heard it. Yes. Again, this is making me very happy.
35:12Now you did a podcast. It's available on the player profiler podcast network and, uh, the Davis Matic podcast on Apple, Spotify, everywhere you get podcasts.
35:20You said, is Roma dunes a good? That was the, that was the title of the podcast.
35:25And that was a great title because I've been working under the assumption that he is.
35:29And then his numbers suggest that maybe he's not really that good.
35:33And I, you know, breaking down your, on a top 10 pick that you like, because there's plenty of top 10 wide receivers.
35:40I don't like, uh, when there's a top 10 receiver, I like like Roma dunes, a breaking my assumptions apart and crushing my soul is difficult.
35:48It's a process. It happens. And it's, it's a misery.
35:51And so I'm here for it. I want the truth, man.
35:54Tell it to me, give it to me. I, I guess, I just, I can't be certain if Roma dunes a is good.
36:01That's the, that's the issue. Not that he is definitely bad.
36:04I think there's more evidence that burden is good.
36:07And I think there's certainly much more evidence that loveland is good, right?
36:11That, that I feel 100% certain on. And a dunes a is the one where I'm like, well, is he good?
36:17You know, the sample has so much like the sample is messed up because he played all these injured games.
36:23And when guys play injured, it's so hard to take their data seriously.
36:27Like their targets per route run, their yards per route run, fantasy points per game, even average up the target gets messed
36:33up when you play injured and their decision making this off season would probably lean that the bears do think he's good
36:40that they're like, yeah, we'll, we'll let Zacchaeus go.
36:42We'll get rid of DJ more, not going to add anyone significant free agency, not going to trade for anyone.
36:48We're going in with Jada Walker, Kalee Freeman and Zavian Thomas as our other wide receivers.
36:53We dropped a tight end so we can play more 12 Rome and burden and Loveland are not coming off the field in 12.
37:00So like you're fine there. And so the bears probably know more than I do, but I would say at, at best it's been like mixed uninspiring.
37:08Maybe you could say, um, he goes at a range of the draft where like, you're, you're like, man, do I want to take him?
37:16Do I like Christian Watson versus Roma dunes a verse?
37:19Brian Thomas jr. They all kind of have huge question marks.
37:22So it's probably fine to take him there. Yeah.
37:25I think he's good, man. I think he's good.
37:27And I'm the point you made about the team, not adding any wide receiver talent and shedding DJ more.
37:33The vacated targets is a signal that they, they want to read this idea that his foot injury is a permanent problem
37:40that he's going to have to suffer through. That's every injury, man.
37:43Every injury lingers forever. And you deal with scar tissue for the rest of your life.
37:48I'm just, I, I, I have to make, we have all to make decisions and I've made the decision that I'm going
37:55to get another look at a dunes a this year and I'll evaluate after the year.
37:59But for the rest of, for now, until at least like mid season to me, he's good.
38:04That's where I'm at. Probably the best argument for him is that he profiles as the touchdown score of him and burden
38:11burden profiles as the, you know, kind of your, your possession, your, your high targets per route run or whatever guy.
38:17But like, if you were, if you were a betting man, you would say a dunes is going to score more touchdowns than burden.
38:24How much more burden do you have than a dunes a a lot more burden burden is one of the, I mean,
38:31you know, it's very hard to have over 20, 25% of guys when you're doing so many drafts and burden is one
38:37of the few guys that I do actually have more than 20% of Rome.
38:42Rome is more like a six, seven, 8% guy.
38:44You mentioned Trevion Henderson earlier. I was thinking about Trevion Henderson and Ramadre Stevenson.
38:48And I just think Trevion Henderson, Trevion, he's, he's a year away, man.
38:52He's a year away. I, I hate it as a Patriots fan, even like I want them to play more, more Trevion Henderson.
38:59I just know they're not going to do it.
39:02I know they're not going to do it. And in the meantime, I think, yeah, if you're, if you're doing a hero
39:08RB or a zero RB build and you see Ramadre Stevenson there, some, I think you should push the button.
39:14I hate it. And Henderson, his ADP is just, it's very difficult to stomach socks.
39:19It is. Although I think that something that we do drafting fantasy football is we become just very fixed on what the team's plan is.
39:26Fantasy football, regular football, lots of chaos, guys get hurt, got like plans change.
39:30Like there certainly is a chance that like, they're just not able to get away with it.
39:36Ramadre was very good last year, but we have had multiple stretches of Ramadre's career.
39:40He's not that good. I'm not saying he's any good.
39:43I'm not trying to build on last year and extrapolate that out and say, this is the new Ramadre Stevenson.
39:49I don't think he's that good. I'm saying he's going to get the touches and it's a bummer man.
39:55And it's something we got to just go with.
39:57He's definitely going to get the touches to start this.
40:00This is the Patriots offense. You want exposure to this offense.
40:04And the other thing is like, what happens if the team is just so good, so dominant that there's enough meat on the bone for both.
40:11I'll, uh, the dolphins of 2023, you know, there, there, there's very much a chance for that Trevion looks like such dog
40:18shit in the post season because it was the first time the Patriots have played anyone.
40:23And now they have AJ Brown added into that offense.
40:26Like, I think there's a chance that they're actually even better on offense.
40:29He has a full off season to get prepared.
40:32I think that there is going to be a big step forward.
40:36The reason why he's so hard to get in dynasty is so many, a lot of smart people.
40:41They know that it's going to happen for him, that it's coming for Henderson.
40:45And it could be this year. I agree with you.
40:48I just think that like you talked about that, there's been such a, a price change in, in, in where guys are
40:55getting drafted, just the public, everyone that's playing fantasy, everyone that's playing best ball is just so much smarter now.
41:01And there's so much more in tune to, to the upside calculation that, you know, it was no, there was no way
41:07a guy like Henderson, even five years ago was going to be underpriced toot and sure, because of the draft capital, but
41:14Henderson was never, it was never going to be, it was never going to be.
41:18Do you think he has like true, like top 10 running back upside things break his ways?
41:23Yes. You do, right? Absolutely. I, I think he can do that.
41:27I also think he can do it without Ramondre getting hurt.
41:30He can just be better than Ramondre. He can just play better.
41:34He played poorly last season. He danced around a ton.
41:37He was like the worst running back in the NFL and pass protection.
41:41He just didn't know how to play NFL level offense yet.
41:44He's had a year of exposure to it. And, you know, I don't know anything about him like interpersonally, but like assuming
41:51that he spent his off season working really hard, get, he needs to get bigger.
41:55He doesn't know. He doesn't have diabetes. He doesn't have diabetes.
41:58I think he's listed at 208 pounds. He probably needs to be more like 215.
42:03But he came out at 202. Well, if he came out at 202, he's now 208.
42:07That's six pounds. So he's now, he adds another six pounds.
42:11That's 214. Well, I'll need to check on the Patriots website right now.
42:15Patriots website right now. Okay. Nevermind. I lied. He's still listed at 202.
42:19So he needs, he needs to get to at least 210.
42:22He needs to get to at least 210 probably to hold up and pass pro.
42:26I would think. One thing I will say about, about Henderson, he was excellent in pass protection in college.
42:32This is what I'm talking about with a full off season where now he knows what to work on.
42:38Now he can address some of these weaknesses with strength and conditioning with technique.
42:42And as opposed to just trying to learn the playbook and feeling overwhelmed at all times, that's how you feel as a rookie.
42:49Now he's there and he's like, okay, here's what I got to work on.
42:53Here's what I need to do. Coaches tell me how I can earn more snaps, how I can be the featured guy.
42:59And they're like, this is what you got to do in the off season.
43:04He's like, okay, I'm going to do it. This guy does not strike me as like kind of like a diva running back at all.
43:11I think this guy is, he's like, the reason I like him is that he, he profiles as one of these like
43:18electric sexy backs, but I think he's a little bit of a lunch pail type of guy.
43:23Yeah. You like JK Dobbins, man. This is one of those things where again, you and I came up at the same
43:29time and we've been evolving and trying not to get as excited about hyper-athletic seventh round picks as we used to, because
43:36we, we, we, we know the pain and RJ Harvey with the targets he was able to command.
43:41And, and you start extrapolating that out. It's very exciting if they can feature him even more this year.
43:47However, everything I hear coming out of Denver is like our core, our core is like two guys on defense, Bo Nix and JK Dobbins.
43:54And I'm like, why is JK? It's like, which one of these things doesn't belong?
43:59Patrick Sertan, Bo Nix and JK Dobbins. Really? So there's something about JK Dobbins where, and he was once a sexy explosive back at Ohio state.
44:06Like he was Henderson before Henderson. And so it is possible that the injuries that he sustained are like multi-year recovery where
44:13he's back, but he's not all the way back.
44:16And now he has enough explosiveness. He's not, you know, he's not in his thirties yet.
44:20And that they might just like what they see from him.
44:24They trust him. He had like a sort of a confluence of factors that coaches like where he's got enough burst.
44:30He's got enough explosiveness, but he also has all the, all the gritty things and all the, and all the detail oriented things that the coaching staff wants.
44:38And I just, I hear these things and I see him associated with, with, with the other sort of captains of the team.
44:45And I, and in my, in my mind's eye, when I think about it, I'm like, they're just going to play him, dude.
44:52They're going to play him on first and second down like crazy.
44:56And he's going to get a ton of touchdowns.
44:58That's just, what's going to happen. It's it's an, it's, it's very, it has a very much like a Denver also has
45:05a very much like a Houston feel to me.
45:07Yeah. Isn't JK Dobbins just going to play like nine games though.
45:11Isn't that just like the modal outcome? Maybe. I don't know.
45:14I don't, we'll see. He's never, he's never finished an NFL season ever.
45:18I know. Never, ever. Yeah. I mean, in best ball in particular, he is terrifying because you, you'd rather have a guy
45:25miss games early, try to sneak him into the shootout.
45:28And then he helps you win a million dollars or more in this case.
45:32I, maybe he misses some games in the middle of the season and you get him in there and he does well.
45:38There has to be another dusty running back that you like.
45:42I mean, does your Corey Krosky merit qualify as dusty?
45:45He is already like 26. That's right. He actually, you know what?
45:48If he was, if he was not a sophomore in the league, I would say, yes, he's dusty.
45:54Yeah. He is. He's pretty dusty. I guess who is the Rashad white would be one, but you're not drafting Rashad white.
46:00I draft a little bit of Rashad white. I see the case in best ball.
46:05The guy that catches passes like a Tajay Spears or Rashad white.
46:08They have value. You're not going to, you don't know when to start them in managed leagues, but in best ball, you
46:15know, you're going to, whenever there's negative game script, they're going to come into your lineup.
46:20I'm checking on my exposure tab to see if there's, I mean, I draft David Montgomery.
46:24I mean, I draft, I, well, when you draft as many teams as I do, you draft a little bit of everyone
46:31I'm trying to think of someone I actually like.
46:34I mean, Josh Jacobs is dusty, but he is, he's fell because of the legal concerns.
46:38And I think it's the, again, like the most likely outcome there is that he probably won't be suspended.
46:44And therefore you're getting like a 15, 20 pick discount.
46:47Oh, we could run that right now. Let's run it right now.
46:51This episode is brought to you by State Farm.
46:53Listening to this podcast instead of doom scrolling, smart move.
46:56Another smart move? Getting help from one of State Farm's 19,000 local agents when you choose to bundle home and auto.
47:02Bundling, just another way to save with the personal price plan.
47:06Prices are based on rating plans that vary by state.

47:14Tomorrow morning is knocking. Stock your fridge now. How about a creamy mocha frappuccino drink?
47:19Or a sweet vanilla? Smooth caramel maybe? Or white chocolate mocha?
47:22Whichever you choose, delicious coffee awaits. Find Starbucks frappuccino drinks wherever you buy your groceries.
47:26Ain't no way Josh Jacobs is getting suspended. Yeah, I think it's unlikely.
47:30Nope, not going to happen. You know what? I have 12% of Ramondre Stevenson.
47:34There it is. I have 12% of Jalen Warren.
47:37And who else is dusty in here? A lot of Brian Robinson.
47:41Oh, there it is. Yeah. Well, that's just a lot of Brian Robinson.
47:45That's just he's there's no one behind him except Tyler Goodson.
47:48Tyler Goodson. I was going to say I'm familiar with Tyler Goodson's work.
47:52It's not particularly impressive. Tyler Goodson's pretty, pretty explosive.
47:54I actually like Tyler Goodson. Anyway, I'm getting distracted.
47:57Okay, here we go. What about a guy like Rashid Shahid?
48:00He's built for best ball is a nightmare to start set.
48:04But you know, there's some spike weeds out there.
48:06You know, there's four catches for 110 yards and a touchdown.
48:10That's you're going to get that from Rashid Shahid.
48:12There's a lot of buzz about him moving all around the formation.
48:16I love I love that. One of my favorite.
48:18Maybe my my favorite news report is wide receiver X is moving all around the formation.
48:23I love that. I'd say give me give me that all the time.
48:27I eat that up. I remember years ago, Terry McLaurin, yeah, and then they stopped doing it, right?
48:32Was was moving all around the formation one year.
48:35And I was like, oh, finally, right? And now this year, they're doing them to me again.
48:40I'm like, oh, I've been burned before with this Terry McLaurin moving around the formation.
48:45And now Rashid Shahid move around all for Rashid.
48:47So it's like it's like we're done talking about Jackson Smith and Jake, but we already know what he's going to do and what he is.
48:55Let's get you excited about Rashid Shahid. I would rather I would rather talk about Tori Horton.
49:00He's someone that I'm actually excited about. He a day three pick that plays as much as he played and scored a bunch of touchdowns as a rookie.
49:09That's exciting. But it seems that because he didn't participate in OTAs recovering from an injury and Rashid Shahid was out there and they they brought him in.
49:17They intentionally went and acquired him that it's going to he's going to be starting in two receiver sets and he's going
49:23to be like you talked about these wide receiver twos are so dead.
49:27But the nice thing about best ball is that they're just very volatile.
49:31It is volatile as they've ever been wide receiver twos have always been volatile.
49:35It's just that based on the way the NFL is now, they've never been more volatile.
49:40Expect extreme volatility from wide receiver twos this year.
49:43But that's why best ball is so great. It is.
49:46Shahid is like he seems fine. I was a huge Shahid guy for the Saints because he was like legitimately breaking out in terms of earning targets.
49:54The issue is he's going to be on a like a bottom five play volume team with a 30% target share wide receiver.
50:01Cooper Cup still like exists and is going to be on the field and they like and they like Horton.
50:07So we're looking at like 56% of the route, something like that.
50:10Like, I mean, she feels totally fine to me.
50:13I prefer that if I'm just totally kind of like gambling in that range, I do prefer Hunter just to be a stereotypical best ball bro.
50:21I do. I do prefer taking Travis on her.
50:23Really? Yeah. Because I think the again, the outcomes for both of them are probably that they don't matter at all.
50:30But the years where Travis on her ends up really mattering.
50:33I think he can really, really matter in the sense of like, if things broke his way, the Jags like the Jags
50:39find some corner who turns out he's great. We've never heard of them.
50:43I don't know defensive players, not my thing, but, but they find some corner turns out he's great.
50:49They kind of start scuffling on offense. Kobe Myers is old.
50:52Parker Washington isn't who I think he is. Brian Thomas Jr.
50:55Is more like he was his sophomore season. Well, one of the, one of those guys is going to have an injury.
51:02They got one of those guys will miss six games or something.
51:05One of those guys are going to miss six games or something.
51:09I mean, that's just how it goes. That is how it always goes.
51:13I just have been very high on Travis Hunter as a receiver.
51:16And again, like James Gladston, how, how stupid do you look if you draft this guy too overall?
51:22And he just doesn't play wide receiver. I mean, I just think you, I just think you're like that.
51:27You're getting fired, but they're the worst drafting team in the league.
51:31They are, but Gladston doesn't want to get fired.
51:34Yeah. They just need to embrace the fact that they're incompetent.
51:37They can't draft at all. Well, just this, they're right off all these picks.
51:41They were all terrible. Like this team, what could have been with the Jaguars?
51:45If they just drafted well, I mean, it's, it's, it's really, it's crazy.
51:49Cause I mean, he hit on Parker Washington and hitting all these things.
51:53Congrats. Brenton strange getting these guys extended at value.
51:56If only your pipeline was a little bit better, a little bit more optimized.
52:00Who do you got? You got, you got Parker Washington or Brian Thomas this year.
52:04I'm a Brian Thomas jr. Guy. Cause I'm such a draft capital bro that it's, it's just so hard for me.
52:11And, and BTJ had a lower body injury. He had a wrist injury.
52:14His best friend had just committed suicide before the season started.
52:18Uh, yeah. Uh, Kyra or Kyron Lacey, the LSU wide receiver.
52:21Um, like just like a messy, messy season for Brian Thomas jr.
52:25It's just like, dude, you're a first round pick.
52:27You had 1300 yards. He finishes the wide receiver nine as a rookie.
52:31I'm just not going to believe that you are going to be replaced by Jacoby Myers and Parker Washington.
52:37I don't buy it. I don't buy it. They are going to extend Parker Washington.
52:41If they give him a big contract, it's going to change some things.
52:45And they are going to, cause they just get, they just, they just did it for strange.
52:50So I'm sure they're about to do it now.
52:53They are, but this is, but again, this is not, this is not the savviest front office here, but it is, I'm just preparing you for this.
53:01I'm preparing you for this. What's nice is it doesn't really matter because I mean, Brian Thomas is a best ball receiver built in a lab.
53:09I mean, this is exactly what you're looking for.
53:11You're looking for a team that's, you know, they, they say that they, they, they drafted these guys for a bunch more 12 personnel.
53:19I got to believe it when I see it right with these, like I said, these rookie tight ends, they're not just
53:25going to roll them out there against every NFL.
53:28Edge rusher with an 80% snap share. That's not how it works in the real world.
53:33That's not what's going to happen. There's going to be plenty of 11 personnel to go around.
53:38There's going to be plenty of, of games where they're coming from behind.
53:41There's going to be big boom shots, bombs to Brian Thomas and every, no matter what his final stat line is best bar bros will be happy.
53:50They drafted Brian Thomas. I'm not, I'm still, I'm still surprised his ADP is not a little bit earlier, but you know what I mean?
53:57Yeah. He owns, he owns the deep role. Cause if Hunter's not, if Hunter's not going to play Parker Washington and Jacoby
54:04Myers are not going to do that. So yeah, he, he has like the very valuable role.
54:09Are you a Jalen Coker guy? You know, the whole Coker wave must've just passed me by.
54:14I feel like, I feel like I'm pretty in tune with kind of like the fantasy football, uh, nichedums.
54:19He seems very fine to me, but like, I don't know.
54:23He plays, I don't, I don't really like Ted Arroyo.
54:26Like I just, I don't know the Panthers. It's so uninspiring.
54:29When you think about these teams and their identities and what they're going to be this year, unfortunately, again, this is one
54:35of those teams where it's not like I'm sacrificing anything.
54:38I feel like if I write off the Broncos as a run first team and I write off the Texans as a
54:45run first team and I write off the Panthers as a run first team.
54:49It's not like I'm missing out on a lot.
54:52Like I was never that excited about Ted McMillan either, but like it could just be that Chuba Hubbard eats that could,
54:58as much as I want Jonathan Brooks to happen, it could just be that Chuba has a great year.
55:04And yeah, I mean, that is, that is probably like very likely.
55:08That's not a sexy running back, but I think he needs to be drafted at his AP.
55:13Yeah. I mean, they would probably prefer for it to be Jonathan Brooks, you know, like that, that's probably their, that's probably
55:19their idea, but he just might not happen for him physically.
55:23And I'm sure the coaching staff is fine handing it to Hubbard.
55:26I had the assistant team doctor from the Broncos on, uh, and basically I did the whole interview and it was, it
55:33was, it was informative, but really the whole thing was structured so that I could get my question in about Jonathan Brooks.
55:39That was really the whole purpose of the, it was a, it was a very good interview.
55:44We taught, we covered a lot of ground, Chris Olave's blood clots, all kinds of stuff.
55:49But it was that question about, and his hesitancy about Jonathan Brooks.
55:53And he really, he really was like, I don't think it's going to happen.
55:57He's not going to be what he was at Texas.
56:00He, I had, I was like, can't he, you know, can't he regain his strength and the, and the flexibility?
56:06I mean, it's been, he's been working so hard all off season, you know, I mean, how many, how many, what if
56:12he's done 10,000 leg extensions and taking peptides? And, and, and he was like, uh, I don't know, man.
56:18I don't know. And he's like, I love Jonathan Brooks.
56:21I know him personally. And I was like, oh shit.
56:24You know, like, I was like, I want, I was like hoping I was like, yeah, he's like, I could absolutely see a full recovery.
56:31He's easy. You know, it's now with these techniques and these, this and that.
56:36And I didn't get that. Like it was more of what he didn't say.
56:40I was hoping for a little more enthusiasm or a ray of light.
56:44And I have to, I have to admit after that interview, drafting a little less, drafting a little less Jonathan Brooks and
56:50a little more Chuba Hubbard after that's just, that's just what's happened.
56:54Uh, can I get you, can I get you on board with, uh, with Josh Downs?
56:58You can get me on board with Josh Downs.
57:01However, drafting on underdog in half PPR, it is starting to ask a bit much of him because he just is not going to score 10 touchdowns.
57:09Like he probably great season for him would be like 80 receptions, a thousand yards and like six touchdowns would be really strong for him.
57:17Um, but like, he's going to be the closer to the line of scrimmage guy, right?
57:21Pierce is going to handle all the downfield stuff.
57:24Nick Westbrook keen is probably going to play in 12 because he blocks, you know, Jones is smaller.
57:29I mean, he's 170 pounds. He's just not going to run block that much.
57:34You know, it's just not going to happen. And so it is one of those things where, and, and the Colts want to run.
57:41They want to, they want to, you know, they want to run.
57:44I just got boomerang, man. I just got boomeranged.
57:47That's so true. Look at their off season moves.
57:50What are those off season moves? Tell you, was it super confidence in Josh Downs or we're a run first team identity?
57:56It's run first team identity a little bit more than it is.
58:00Hey, we're, we're, we're all in on Josh Downs.
58:03That's not what it's all about. It's about, it's about identity.
58:06Probably just draft Jonathan Taylor and move on. I mean, I, I, I like Josh Downs and I think in like the
58:12right circumstance in the right season, he could totally have a top 20 wide receiver season.
58:17I just, I'm not that convinced this is the season for it.
58:21Doesn't he also have a Tyler Warren problem? Cause Tyler Warren's elite.
58:24I see. I kind of wonder if Tyler Warren actually has a Josh Downs problem because Josh Downs is a great targets per route run guy.
58:32And if they do commit to playing him full time, like 80% of the time, that's, it's it's, it's probably not great
58:39for Tyler Warren, especially because they're going to be running routes and targeted at very similar depths.
58:44But if we can get Daniel Jones to play like he did in the first half, all the boats get lifted here.
58:50I think I'm just a little more bullish on the Colts.
58:53I think that's what it is. Could I, I, there, there, they were phenomenal in the first half of the season.
59:00The, the, the thing that you need is for whichever one of Warren or Downs ends up winning like the RPO stuff.
59:06Cause that's what the whole Shane Steichen offense is based off of.
59:10And last year it was Tyler Warren. But again, if Downs is playing in base personnel, it's just more options for, for
59:16the RPO stuff, which is not great for Tyler Warren.
59:19I'm going to go Downs here or going down.
59:22We're going, we're, we're, we're, we're a circle Downs.
59:25That's, that's the best receiving target on the Colts.
59:27Sorry, Tyler Warren. I love Tyler Warren though. I like them both.
59:31Like it's, it's not, it's not, it's not that expensive wide, you know, receiving duo.
59:36If you put a, you just tag Warren as, as, as a receiver.
59:39But if you go deeper, we talked about Dalton Schultz earlier.
59:43Do you have another like late round tight end that you really like besides Ferguson and Schultz?
59:48And I don't want to put Schultz besides Helm.
59:50And I don't want to put Schultz on you, by the way.
59:54I'm not saying you're a big Schultz. Yeah. No, I like, I like Dalton Schultz.
59:58I really like Greg Dulcich. Like he could just kind of like slop his way again to like 65 catches.
60:04It's like a Gary, Gary Barnage had a thousand yards and nine touchdowns and then was out of football a year later on one of those awful.
60:12I think it might've actually been the Owen 16 Browns team.
60:16I would have to, I would have to go fact check that, but like Greg Dulcich might just be the only man,
60:22like literally the only person capable of, of running around and catching a football on the Miami dolphins.
60:28It's, it's potentially the worst wide receiver room of our lifetimes.
60:31Malik Washington pulls a hamstring. Oh my God. Like, oh my God.
60:35And honestly, even if he doesn't, it's Malik Washington.
60:37Like even if he doesn't. You're exactly right. Yeah.
60:40Dulcich. I think I like Dulcich in dynasty because Dulcich isn't even old.
60:44It's not like he, it's not like he's 32.
60:46Yeah. He's like 26 years old. I think he's very, he's like the sneakiest dynasty title ever.
60:51Greg Dulcich. Yeah. And I, I'm very familiar with Gary Barnage and cause that was the, that was also the Josh Gordon era.
60:58That was probably one of the years that Josh Gordon wasn't available and therefore all the targets went to Gary Barnage.
61:05He, he and Dulcich have very similar profiles. They're very, they're very similar.
61:08It's good because Barnage was explosive. Dulcich is a, is an athlete.
61:12He's not a plotter at all. Yeah. There's a lot of reasons to like Dulcich.
61:17All right, man. We did it. I'll, we got, we, we, we got the U S men's team tonight.
61:22I gotta, I gotta, I gotta get, I gotta get ready for that.
61:26Although, although I will say, I will say I'm now that, now that we're a few hours out, I don't know, man.
61:33I guess I'll admit it. I was more excited for England.
61:36Like that's so, that's so strange. I didn't know how I was going to feel.
61:40I don't know. Like I'm, I was going to say, you don't, you don't know how you do not know how you're
61:47going to feel until, until it happens. I love multiple teams in this world cup.
61:51Certainly the U S and England are the top, but until like games are really on the line and it's, and it's,
61:58it's winter, winter moves on loser goes home. You don't know exactly how you're going to feel as a fan.
62:04This is like an honest moment that I'm having.
62:07I can't believe it. I'm not as excited. I'm telling you, man, it was like noon and I was shaking waiting for this England game to start.
62:15So, you know, but it's, it's also because I think it's because England, I actually have talked myself in England, actually having
62:21a chance to win the whole thing. Whereas I know this is just a fun story for the U S and, but
62:28it, you know, in, in 12 years, maybe it could happen.
62:31Yeah. Hey, it could. I don't, I mean, I, I think it would be great if the U S men won this, this time, but I do.
62:39I think we're, we're a generation or two away.
62:42Yeah. I think 12 years, 12 years is very fair.
62:45Get us out of here. Bold prediction about the NFL fantasy football.
62:48Bold prediction is that, uh, scoring comes back. Whatever the greatest offensive coordinators have spent the last six months working on average
62:55depth of target is going to increase. I don't know what it's going to be.
62:59I don't know what the solve is. If I did, I would, I would be paid much more than I am currently being compensated right now.
63:07But I, you know, Andy Reed, Shanahan, McVay, uh, Shane Steichen, all, all these great Mike McDaniel, all these, these great, really
63:14smart guys are going to bring football back to us.
63:17Let it rain. You know, Andy Reed, Shanahan, McVay, uh, Shane Steichen, all, all these great Mike McDaniel, all these, these great,
63:23really smart guys are going to bring football back to us.
63:26Let it rain. We're going to try. We're going to try.
63:30You know, we're, we're, we're going to, we're going to, we're going to mine.
63:34We're going to mind deep. We're going to do our best.
63:37Oh, Metcalf is just, Oh God. I, I, I did.
63:40I did also see a backflip. He doesn't have diabetes.
63:43He doesn't have diabetes. I'm, I was going to say, I'm familiar with Tyler Goodson's work.
63:48It's not particularly impressive. He doesn't have diabetes. Uncovered windows can make your home feel up to 20 degrees hotter.
