Bo Nix

PositiveProjection42:22

Analyst notes Bo Nix threw 600-plus passes last year and expects the Broncos to throw less going forward. Late-season ankle injury may reduce his scrambling tendency, potentially directing more touches to running backs. Nix's continued improvement is cited as part of the bull case for Broncos running backs, though analyst remains skeptical about actual production gains.

Insight page

Caleb Johnson

NegativeBust20:00

Completely out of the realm of possibility for fantasy relevance, especially after draft pick and recent reports. Analyst bought into the hype last season and regrets it; lesson learned about not paying up for unproven rookies.

Insight page

Cam Ward

PositiveMatchup13:00

Mentioned as a potential 2QB league target in context of Tennessee's offensive additions (Cardinal Tate, Wanda Robinson). The improved receiving weapons could help Ward's fantasy outlook.

Insight page

Chuba Hubbard

NegativeValue31:44

ADP of 73 is too high; had only three top-10 weeks and zero top-five weeks, raising ceiling questions. Analyst has not been drafting Hubbard at all. His ADP is converging with backup Jonathan Brooks (around low 90s). Hubbard had zero 20-yard rushes in 134 attempts in 2025 and only one explosive rush (13-20 yards), showing lack of explosivity. However, he maintains a strong 48% success rate and just 12% non-positive attempt rate, making him a reliable but unspectacular floor play. Analyst is 'off him completely now as a fantasy asset' despite respecting him as a real football player.

Insight page

Drake Maye

PositiveRole27:27

Patriots quarterback Drake May took 13 goal-to-go carries in 2025, third on the team behind Henderson (16) and Mondre Stevenson (15), indicating he is involved in short-yardage situations.

Insight page

Eli Heidenreich

NegativeBust19:00

Rookie running back being compared to Christian McCaffrey with no actual basis other than catching passes at Navy. Analyst dismisses the hype as unfounded speculation; lessons learned from overpaying for rookies last season.

Insight page

J.K. Dobbins

PositiveProjection4:25

Had two top-10 weeks and one top-five week last season. Good yardage after contact (NYPA) despite facing high volume of eight-man boxes. Slightly lower ceiling than Rashad White but still productive.

Insight page
NegativeValue38:27

ADP of 100 is not attractive to analyst; Dobbins had no top-10 weeks in 2025. Analyst dislikes this backfield and prefers running backs who catch passes; Dobbins is all rushing impact with no receiving floor, making him less appealing than Harvey.

Insight page
NegativeRole41:19

Analyst expresses strong skepticism about Dobbins-led Broncos backfield; notes Dobbins will lead in touches until injury but injury timeline is uncertain. Last year Dobbins posted RB24 in points per game with poor receiving production (11 catches in 10 games, more games with negative receiving yards than double-digit receiving yards), forcing reliance on touchdown upside. Analyst concerned about durability and questions whether five healthy games of fringe RB2 production is worth the draft capital, stating 'I hate this backfield with a burning white hot passion' and 'I don't even want to deal with it.'

Insight page

Jaleel McLaughlin

PositiveUsage43:54

Co-host cites McLaughlin as example of Broncos' split backfield problem; notes he had at least four carries in eight of their last nine games, representing touches that fragment the backfield and hurt all running backs' fantasy value across the board.

Insight page

Jaylen Warren

PositiveValue14:00

ADP 75 with three top-10 weeks and one top-five week. Underrated dual-threat with strong efficiency plus volume; got outshone by Gainwell last year but now Gainwell is gone. Pittsburgh was top-10 in rushing success rate despite bottom-five attempts, showing efficiency. Warren is a strong value at his price point.

Insight page
PositiveProjection21:36

If Warren receives even a small portion of the hyper-targeting that Jalen Rodgers showed toward Gainwell, he would be a 'smash' pick; analyst is getting sold on Pittsburgh backs due to two-back backfield structure where both backs split all pass-catching, garbage time, and end zone work.

Insight page

Jonah Coleman

PositiveRole42:22

Analyst has grown to like Coleman, especially in Dynasty, viewing him as a legitimate three-down running back who represents more direct competition for Dobbins than Harvey or McLaughlin did last year. However, analyst plans to target Coleman as a midseason waiver pickup only, assuming Dobbins gets injured. Co-host notes Coleman 'passes a lot of the sniff tests, usage and abilities in both sides of the game,' but acknowledges difficulty due to Broncos' split backfield approach.

Insight page

Jonathon Brooks

NegativeBreakout32:12

Panthers are 'over the moon' about Brooks; every report from team camp highlights his potential. If Brooks outperforms Hubbard in camp, he could be the RB1 by week three or sooner. He has much higher ceiling than Hubbard but lower floor. Analyst recommends buying Brooks as a zero-RB ceiling play in redraft, but sets a cutoff around round six/seven; if Brooks creeps into that range due to positive reports, analyst will exit due to two ACL tears in the last two years on the same knee. However, analyst is willing to absorb the injury risk given the second-round draft capital and team enthusiasm.

Insight page

Kaytron Allen

PositiveRole4:45

Rookie sixth-rounder from Penn State with ADP 200. Shows pretty good balance of volume and catches with decent touchdown production. Not a strong redraft target but could have value in best-ball formats as a backfill option.

Insight page

Michael Pittman

PositiveRole18:20

Coming on board with Pittsburgh Steelers. Could give Aaron Rodgers another quick-release option, potentially reducing reliance on running back checkdowns and affecting Warren/Dowdle target volume.

Insight page

Najee Harris

PositiveMatchup21:46

Pittsburgh Steelers have arguably the easiest first-half schedule of any NFL team; in their first eight weeks, they face only one team with a winning record (New England), with the other seven teams combining for 46 wins and 73 losses in 2025, creating positive game scripts that benefit running backs in split backfields.

Insight page

Nicholas Singleton

PositiveInjury9:00

ADP 190 (slightly high for a third back). Broke foot before Senior Bowl, which caused him to slide down draft boards. Has couple of thousand-yard seasons but recent low volume and injuries. Could disrupt Tony Pollard's role once healthy, making him a longer-term speculative play.

Insight page

Rico Dowdle

PositiveRole15:00

Slightly better runner than Jalen Warren but not much. Likely in line for empty-calorie work and possibly more goal-line work. Pittsburgh backfield is split between Warren and Dowdle; you have to pick a side rather than roster both.

Insight page
PositiveValue22:02

Analyst prefers Dowdle over other backfield options when forced to choose, citing his connection with Mike McCarthy from their time together in Dallas. If analyst had to choose between two-back backfield options, Dowdle is the pick, though analyst will take both backs.

Insight page

RJ Harvey

PositiveValue38:27

ADP of 87 is attractive; Harvey has had an off-season fall similar to what analyst expected from Trevion Henderson. He had three top-10 weeks and two top-five weeks, showing ceiling potential. Analyst jumps on board when Harvey falls to triple-digit ADP (around pick 100), viewing him as a value play in the Broncos backfield.

Insight page

Tony Pollard

NegativeValue8:30

ADP 76 is enticing for a back with four consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons and ~1,300 scrimmage yards per year. New offensive coordinator Brian Dable has good history of emphasizing one running back, which is valuable in this backfield. Should get hot start over Nicholas Singleton (who broke foot before Senior Bowl). Risk is how long Pollard maintains the role before Singleton returns.

Insight page
PositiveRole20:47

Analyst notes that singular-use route specialist role for Pollard is 'mostly gone the way of the Dodo,' indicating a shift away from that specific role designation in current NFL landscape.

Insight page

TreVeyon Henderson

NegativeValue27:27

ADP of 51 is too high; analyst believes Henderson and Mondre Stevenson ADPs should be flipped (Henderson 51, Stevenson 75). Henderson did not shine until week nine when Stevenson got injured; when Stevenson returned healthy, he played significantly more snaps due to superior pass-blocking and pass-catching ability. Analyst was not drafting Henderson last year due to concerns.

Insight page

Tyler Batty

PositiveUsage43:54

Co-host notes Beatty made at least one grab in more games than not last year, exemplifying how Broncos' split backfield approach fragments touches across multiple backs and reduces fantasy value for all running backs in the offense.

1:59Hit us up with any questions. My friend and yours, Mr.
2:03Jake Trowbridge. Running backs are all the talk right now, Jake.
2:07It's because of that, right, kind of perceived weak draft class.
2:10We're now seeing the impacts of that on drafting rooms.
2:13What's going on? Are you ready for a jam-packed RB episode?
2:17Oh, I'm ready. I'm ready. The question is, are the listeners ready to get all the goods on these?
2:23You know, I don't know what the title of this thing is going to be when it comes out, John.
2:29But when I was referring to these, you know, murky backfields initially, I was calling them muddy backfields.
2:35And I decided I'm going to stop doing that because it sounds too much like a euphemism that you'd hear in a commercial for Pepto-Bismol or something.
2:44Muddy backfields. I don't want to be that guy.
2:47So messy backfields? Let's maybe go with that. Yeah, maybe be careful typing that one into Google.
2:52You never know. In front of people, you never know what's going to come up.
2:57Maybe not safe for work. All right. So the discussion topic today is write those, you know, vague backfields, right?
3:03Where it's kind of a gray area and chaos being the latter, fantasy football being a game of attrition.
3:09Leagues are going to be won and lost on how you play these, right?
3:14Whether it's at the draft table or in season.
3:17I think having a good idea, these murky backfields, what it's like.
3:21So we have a half a dozen of them.
3:23I want to thank you for putting them together.
3:26I do agree with the teams. We'll get through them.
3:30First up is Washington. I'm going to just try and set the table as quick as I can.
3:35And then we'll go from there because it's really just an open forum here.
3:40What do we think? Do we like the lead?
3:43Are we off the lead? Do we like the backup?
3:46Are we on both of them or none of them or anything in between?
3:50So we'll start with the commanders. You know, they were number one in yards after contact per rush.
3:56Top five in rush rate, although they were 15th in running back rush yards per game, right?
4:02Because they do run. It was Jaden Daniels. It was also a little bit of Mariota looking kind of spry at times.
4:09So right now the room is constituted. They bring in Rashad White, ADP 111 from Tampa.
4:14He had two top 10 weeks, zero top five weeks.
4:17My quick note was he was better than expected running.
4:20Not as much kind of ploddery. He's a little bit better than I thought.
4:25Then we have JCM, everyone's favorite seventh rounder from last year.
4:28ADP 121. So right off the bat, right? Very close.
4:31He had two top 10 weeks, one top five week.
4:35A little bit of ceiling. I have good yak NYPA, especially given the amount of eight men boxes that he faced.
4:41I was a little surprised with what I saw from JCM.
4:45And then Kaytron Allen, the rookie ADP 200 six rounder out of Penn State.
4:49And I noticed a pretty good balance of volume and catches, decent amount of touchdowns.
4:54So where are you on Washington? Rashad White is one of the main risers lately.
4:59I think just as people digest what's going on, he appears to be the RB1.
5:04And that ADP is a little bit cheap for RB1s nowadays.
5:07You have to pick 100. What do you think about the commander's backfield, Jake?
5:12Yeah, John, I think that's going to be a recurring theme throughout this episode probably is, you know, with all of these
5:19we're going to talk about, they're all so cheap with very few exceptions that you can take shots wherever you like on any of these.
5:27It's not a big commitment. You know, if it doesn't work out, you can drop them without too much regret.
5:33So we're just looking for guys that can hit.
5:36And if they do, you know, you'll be on a much more linear route to the fantasy championships, like people who got Javante Williams last year.
5:44That's the kind of thing that we're looking at with this.
5:48Of course, Paul Charchian always called it the do the opposite strategy, aka zero RB.
5:53And Rashad White is a heck of a zero RB or do the opposite kind of running back because you nailed it.
6:00I'm not going to say that he's a great pure runner because he's not, but he's a little better than he gets credit for.
6:07And he's so good at earning targets out of the backfield.
6:11I think that's where I want to start with Washington is which of these guys do I think can actually be the
6:18check down option for Jane Daniels, even though he doesn't check down a ton.
6:23I think it's the most valuable thing because this team also had a change of offensive coordinator, John.
6:28We're going from Cliff Kingsbury to David Blau. Yeah, Blau was there as the QB assistance coach last year.
6:34I don't really know what that means other than, hey, you're comfortable being around the practice field, I suppose.
6:40David Blau, though, we don't know what his tendencies are going to be.
6:45We know Cliff Kingsbury was very good at just getting a good rushing offense.
6:49But, you know, first year OC, John, do you think it makes sense like I do to say, I'm going to target
6:56the veterans on this team because of that? Because the new guy coming in probably needs a little bit of help that way?
7:04Yeah, I would say, especially in the running back room here, I think Rashad White is one of the veterans here.
7:10You know, he's going to know where to be and how to produce and, you know, the EPA and success rates were better than I thought.
7:19He's actually getting me on to Rashad White and maybe away from JCM, who feels like, again, you mentioned White's, how prolific he is in the pass game.
7:28Jaden Daniels is so good with RPO stuff. This could be a match made in heaven.
7:33And yeah, I think he's going entirely too late.
7:36Even if you're going to give up a little bit of maybe goal line equity, I think that's fine at the price.
7:43So going through this, I think I'm into Rashad White.
7:46I think it may be a little lower on merit.
7:49Maybe just a few picks too high. And I think I like Allen.
7:53You know, if you're doing these best bowl drafts and you're looking to just fill in to backfill, I'm not sure I'd be so into him in redraft.
8:02And then they also have Jerome Ford, but I think that's a little bit outside of our scope.
8:08Next up would be Tennessee. Oh man, audible sigh.
8:11If you couldn't pick up on the audible sigh led with.
8:14So my notes say, despite the third lowest heavy box rate, they were still a bottom five O-line and a bottom five
8:21rushing offense in terms of rush rate, rush per game, EPA, rush yards per game, yards before contact per rush, rush success rate, and explosive rush rate.
8:30So basically every single thing that matters analytically. They did draft a fifth round guard, but they're also ranked again to be bottom five going forward.
8:38You got Pollard, ADP 76. He had one top five week.
8:42You get volume, but the efficiency not great. He really is a past game asset.
8:47Taji Spears pick 162. Not a single top 10 week.
8:50I put same archetype as Pollard, but worse. I just think Pollard is a much better player in both assets of the game.
8:57And then they drafted Nicholas Singleton. He's only ADP 190, which is a little bit high for a third back.
9:04And a couple of thousand yard seasons. It looks like some injuries and some low volume in the last one.
9:10And he can catch the ball. I think I'm just like so out on Tennessee until I see it.
9:16People are excited about Ward. He could take a step forward.
9:20They also have not done much in the way of protecting him, Mr.
9:24Jake. And that's where I'm worried. And how defenses kind of react to that, right?
9:29When you don't present a threat to every blade of grass, defenses adjust.
9:33And I think that kind of rolls downhill. So I'm off the Titans.
9:37You have anything different? I mean, I've landed on Pollard where he's fallen.
9:41Just to be honest, when my roster rate comes out.
9:44But I'm not into the Titans issue. I mean, I'm getting more interested in the Titans, actually.
9:50As I realized the pieces they added outside of that guard and Nick Singleton.
9:54You know, they did add a pretty solid wide receiver.
9:57A lot of folks seemed to think fourth overall in the draft by adding Cardinal Tate.
10:03They bring in Wanda Robinson. Maybe those guys can actually keep the offense humming along more.
10:08Where all of the guys in this backfield get more opportunities.
10:11That's the hope, at least. And, of course, bringing in Brian Dable, change of offensive coordinator.
10:16He's been good. You know, he has a good history of utilizing his running backs.
10:21Probably more important, he has a good history of emphasizing one running back.
10:25Which is not common in a lot of these backfields we're talking about, John.
10:30So that's why I'm into Tony Pollard thinking that, based on Nicholas Singleton, you know, he broke his foot before the Senior Bowl.
10:37I think that's part of the reason that caused him to slide down draft boards.
10:42And so Tony Pollard should be the one who at least gets the hot start.
10:47And, you know, in redraft, that's more valuable. And his ADP, for a guy who's put up 1,000-yard rushing seasons four years
10:54in a row and hovers around 1,300 scrimmage yards, I'm not going to lie.
10:58I'm kind of enticed by it, John. The issue is, how long will Tony Pollard keep that role?
11:04And will... Because I agree. I don't think TyJ Spears has much to worry about.
11:09So I'm just shooing him away. And I'm waiting on Nicholas Singleton to get healthy.
11:14Maybe that's when he sneaks in and then disrupts this whole thing.
11:18And then you're kind of screwed. Yeah, the audio-only people couldn't see, you know, luckily for them, my face and Cheshire cat
11:25smile because I was a huge proponent of Tony Pollard last year.
11:28But remember, those total stats can be a little bit misleading.
11:32By the time he was delivering, it was a little too late for me.
11:36Although, I don't want to blame it on Pollard.
11:39I went down the Bucky Irving road last year.
11:42That injury kept getting delayed and delayed and delayed.
11:45You can't really keep falling behind in fantasy football.
11:48Maybe I wasn't proactive enough, but I did fall for it.
11:52But it was funny with Pollard, who just... I mean, by the time we were into Week 12, right?
11:58So the two games after coming out of the bye, when you're like, okay, maybe we'll get explosive again.
12:04He goes 10 for 22, then 11 for 20.
12:07He made a few catches, but only totaled 25 receiving yards.
12:10And then, like, who would have thunk it? You know, he just went absolutely crazy.
12:15So he's also N plus one. We talked about those lower body injuries removed from that tightrope surgery.
12:21Pollard was like a top 10 overall pick like two years ago.
12:25So I think I'm with you. I think I am buying it, again, because of the price.
12:30I also want to take a little bit of a lowercase L on Tate.
12:34And it's just like you mentioned, the draft capital is so high.
12:38Think about where we were taking Marvin Harrison. Now, that didn't work out.
12:42And maybe this is an example of kind of once bitten, twice shy.
12:47But just to equate draft capital to fantasy draft capital, you got to think his 60 ADP Tate is a steal for a bit in the draft, right?
12:56I'm more lukewarm on Cardinal Tate as an individual fantasy asset than most.
13:00I like him to hopefully help the offense overall.
13:03And so if you're somebody in a 2QB league who wants to draft Cam Ward or, again, wants to invest in one
13:10of these running backs, I like Cardinal Tate for that, for real life.
13:14I'm a little lukewarm because I actually think his ADP is too high, personally.
13:18I think he's a pro-ready wide receiver. That's fine.
13:21But I don't see this crazy high ceiling that a lot of people do.
13:26Interesting. Yeah, a lot of it is just based on draft capital.
13:30And we've seen that mislead. But I'm a price guy.
13:33I have not drafted Tate once. I tend to be that kind of strict drafter, Jake.
13:38I do a lot of zeroing out. I zero out a lot of teams in a lot of situations.
13:44I don't like to put my hard-earned money on players and teams I don't really believe in.
13:49I like to see it first. Call me Missouri.
13:52All right, next, our third backfield that's funny is Pittsburgh, right?
13:56We generally think of as a running team. This is kind of interesting.
14:00Pittsburgh last year, bottom five in attempts per game.
14:03That's a running team with the Steelers or any Aaron Rodgers team.
14:07They move like they're in molasses. However, they were top 10 in success rate.
14:11They do it well. Low play volume in general, like I mentioned.
14:15So it's Jalen Warren, ADP 75. He had three top 10 weeks.
14:19One top five week. And I have to admit, this is one of the reasons that I'm very glad to be doing this show.
14:27Because when I kind of uncovered this stone, I was really impressed with what I saw from Warren.
14:32I wrote underrated dual threat. You get efficiency plus there was volume.
14:36I didn't realize it. You know, it kind of got outshone by Gainwell a little bit, who was fantastic.
14:42But now he's gone. They bring in Rico Dowdle, who I put slightly better runner, but not much.
14:48He's the biggest, so he's probably in line for all the, you know, empty calorie work.
14:53Maybe a little bit more of the goal line work.
14:56But man, I'm kind of getting into Jalen Warren at ADP 75.
15:00What do you think about the Steelers backfield? It's also split.
15:04They're a little more expensive, where I don't think you could take them both.
15:08I think you have to have a stand here if you like someone from Pittsburgh.
15:13Welcome to Alaska Airlines. We're now flying to London.

15:26Welcome to Alaska Airlines. Today we're talking about how you don't have to earn more when you can save more.
15:32So you brought me this stat. T-Mobile customers had the lowest wireless bills versus Verizon and AT&T over the past five years.
15:39That seems surprising. Yeah, when I first heard it, I thought, okay.
15:43But when the experts at Harris X broke it down, it was true for millions of families.
15:48Five years of the lowest wireless bills versus Verizon and AT&T.
15:52And in this area, where every monthly bill gets noticed, that kind of savings makes a real difference.
15:58Plus a five-year price guarantee on experience plans. I'm not hearing any sacrifice here.
16:02Which is what people need right now. Reliability, predictability.
16:05That kind of breathing room makes a weekend on the coast a little easier to plan.
16:10Affordable wireless service isn't a perk. It's a difference.

17:18Epiglis can be used with or without topical corticosteroids.

17:42Why is it always chaos when we link up?
17:45Because nobody plans anything, bro. Good thing the Rogue's ready like that.
17:48For real. Rain, dirt, whatever. Available all-wheel drive. Five modes.
17:52We still outside. And they got some kick too.
17:55That turbo? Torque is crazy. The most in its class.
17:58It moves, moves. Rogue doesn't mess around. And peep the space.
18:01Merch on merch. Gear. Mikes. All of it fits.
18:04Load up. We out. 2026 Nissan Rogue. Built for all of it.
18:08Auto Pacific segmentation. 2026 Rogue versus latest in-market competitors in the ex-SUV mainstream midsides class.
18:13Excluding electrical vehicles based on manufacturer websites. Yeah, John.
18:16I think they're more expensive than the rest of these guys.
18:19Because even though the Steelers had what the fifth lowest team rushing attempts last year.
18:24Because as you said, they move so slow. So Warren and Gainwell were the only backfield mates to eclipse 1,000 scrimmage yards each.
18:31Which is wild. That just speaks to how efficient that both of them were.
18:36And frankly, how much old man Rodgers just dumped that ball off because he was terrified if anybody on the defense looked at him the wrong way.
18:44So I think leaning into that run game was obviously a necessity.
18:48Maybe Michael Pittman coming on board with this team gives him another option to feel comfortable getting the ball out quick.
18:55But not necessarily having it go to one of these running backs.
18:59Or if you're one of these sickos out there, John, who've been doing, you know, a million rookie dynasty drafts at this point.
19:06This Eli Heidenreich name keeps popping up. And oh, we have another next CMC.
19:11So drop the balloons. That's the thousandth player that we've heard is going to be the next CMC with zero actual basis
19:18for that other than he caught a bunch of passes at Navy.
19:22So he's got to be the same guy. But John, can we at least agree Caleb Johnson is gone, right?
19:28Like completely out of the realm of possibility of coming back.
19:32Is that fair? At least for right now, especially after the draft pick here and all the reports coming out.
19:38And I think if anything, you know, lessons learned because I unfortunately bought some of that last season and there's a place for rookies.
19:46You just shouldn't really be paying up for it, you know, because you're oftentimes paying for the production that hasn't happened.
19:52And I've joked about it before on my own show and this show.
19:57Sometimes there's value in just knowing where to stand, right?
20:00Veterans know where to stand. They understand calls and how to do audibles and be in the right place at the right time.
20:07And we know particularly in Pittsburgh, there is a tax for not standing in the right place.
20:13It's called the not standing in the right place tax.
20:16And Aaron Rodgers makes sure to get his pound of black and yellow flesh every time that you betray him on that.
20:23It's the truth. You will, he will grab you by the face mask.
20:27Like you will hear it in the press conferences and stuff.
20:31And then you see it in the utilization. So I think you make a real, you make a lot of great points,
20:38but the usage point, if you saw me scrambling to my post-it note, I want to make sure that I go back and circle all of these backfields.
20:47You mentioned Tony Pollard having a good route to singular use.
20:50100% agreed. That's mostly gone the way of the Dodo, Jake.
20:54We're looking for two running back, right? That was the real point that I took from that is, ooh, a backfield with
21:01only two and not three really boost both of their value.
21:04Maybe I have to pump the brakes on what I was saying about them being a little too expensive.
21:10They are more expensive than other tandems. But man, if you think even at a slower rate and a lower, like a
21:17smaller pie, that they're going to be splitting all of it, which is all the pass catching, all the garbage time, all the end zone work.
21:26Yo, man, I think I'm getting sold on the Pittsburgh backs.
21:29I haven't really drafted them, but I think I'm going to.
21:33And again, we saw Rodgers just hyper target Gainwell.
21:36If a little bit of that goes to Warren, he's a smash.
21:39Well, I know we'll give you a little bit more just onto the fire here real quick, John, because I'm going to
21:46get you drafting both of these guys so many times by the end of this offseason.
21:52The Steelers also have, I would say, arguably the easiest first half schedule of any team in the NFL.
21:58In their first eight weeks, they're only going against one team with a winning percentage in 2025.
22:03And that's New England. The rest of these seven teams collected had a total win loss record last year of 46 wins and 73 losses.
22:11Obviously, things change. We can't just assume it's going to be the same year over year.
22:16But if you're looking at a team that's going to have positive game scripts, which we often need for running backs, especially
22:23split backfields to be successful, then I think this is the one to go with.
22:28And both have three down potential. So I think both can handle the workload.
22:33Dowdle does have the connection with Mike McCarthy coming in from their year, really, or year and a half, I guess, in Dallas.
22:40So if I had to choose when I'm going, Dowdle, but I'll take both.
22:44Wow. Another awesome point. You had me scrambling to my post-it notes again about early scheduling.
22:50Dude, it matters. I have ignored it too often in redraft where you want to get out to a good start.
22:56There might be injuries. Get out to a good start.
22:59Those players have more value out of the box.
23:02I think that was really great. Sorry to rush on that one.
23:06I'm glad we got that in. All right. So that's three of the six teams.
23:11Let's take a bow and a quick breather. Let's circle back.
23:15I have another three teams that I really want to get into.
23:18I think we're making good pace. We're going to get through everything today.

25:50Bro, from the show last night to this drive, why is it never chill?
25:55Because this is our life. Backstage, on the road, it's loud, messy, real.
25:59And that's the best part. Whole crew, no plan, just moving.
26:02Good thing Nissan builds for that kind of chaos.
26:05Not just test tracks, real-life scenes. Late nights, road trips, all of it.
26:09That's why it holds up. Nissan was ranked number one in initial quality among mainstream brands by J.D.

26:24Awards based on 2025 model year. Newer models may be shown.
26:27All right, Jake, let's turn a page into the second half here.
26:31Next up, it's the Patriots. Now, a team that people are really excited about.
26:36And another team right with that kind of two-headed backfield.
26:39They were sixth in rush yards per game, but 11th in running back rush yards per game.
26:44Of course, Drake May taking that up. I wanted to look at the goal-to-go carries.
26:49Henderson had 16, led the way. Mondre, 15, May, 13.
26:52But remember, Mondre did miss three games in the middle of the season.
26:57They faced the second heaviest, highest box rate. And then, you know, it's...
27:01I just wrote the word frustrating in the biggest letters that I could where it didn't go across the line.
27:07You know, the biggest surprise to me was that in the games together, where Mondre actually out-snapped Trevion when the Patriots were tied or trailing.
27:15They had the same amount of targets, but Mondre actually had 100 more receiving yards.
27:20The reason I mention that is I think I kind of bin these players as thunder and lightning, right?
27:26It's very easy for us to do that. There's a bigger back that runs and a more scatty back that catches.
27:33That's not always the case. Mondre was a really good runner.
27:36He was also pretty darn good in the pass game.
27:39Man, their ADPs are 51 Henderson, 75 Mondre. I think maybe those should be flipped.
27:44And that, again, is not a very popular opinion.
27:47I was not drafting Henderson last year because I was worried.
27:51We did see the potential in those games without Stevenson.
27:54So, that to say, it's still a lot of gray matter going on here.
27:58What do you think about the Patriots backs? Yeah, John, I don't know.
28:03Why didn't Henderson's ADP drop like at all from last year?
28:06It feels like this is right around where folks were drafting him last year.
28:11And I understand the upside is very enticing. I get it.
28:14But I just would have assumed he would have dropped down because of the disappointment he gave everybody last year.
28:20And I guess folks are looking at the end of year stat totals, which I'm victim of doing sometimes myself.
28:27But if you look at the time where Henderson actually started to shine, it wasn't until week nine of last year.
28:34And that's when Mondre Stevenson got injured, as you said.
28:37And when Stevenson got healthy again, then he was again playing a lot more snaps than Henderson was because he's a better
28:44pass blocker and a better pass catcher even than Henderson was.
28:47I think the assumption was Henderson will grow into this role as a receiving back.
28:52And he might. He might. But Mondre Stevenson looked better than he did.
28:56And I just want to focus on the snap counts from week 13 on because that's when Mondre came back from his injury and was basically healthy.
29:05And you talked about the snap counts, but week 13 on including the actual NFL playoffs, Mondre Stevenson, 380 snaps, Travion Henderson, 212 snaps.
29:13That's a wild difference at the tail end of the season to still have a guy like that have such high ADP
29:20and to have the ADPs not flipped like you said.
29:23So I don't know. Give me Mondre Stevenson a few rounds later.
29:27If eventually things shift, I'll adapt. I'll move. I'll trade.
29:30I'll drop him to waivers, whatever. But I'm not going to start with Henderson on the assumption that he's just going to
29:37come out of the box looking great. There's no reason to think that.
29:41I mean, and the playoff touch counts were very heavily in favor of Stevenson.
29:4613 to 10 against the Chargers. 20 to 13 Houston.
29:4925 to 3 at Denver. That's a blowout. And then 12-9 Seattle.
29:53Like there wasn't a single time where they said when the chips are down, Henderson is the guy.
29:59He's just... And it might be. And Henderson drafters might get lucky.
30:02Maybe Stevenson, you know, hits the lottery and goes to that mindfulness retreat I'm always talking about.
30:08Maybe. And then there's a case that Trevion could legit be the RB1 or among at least the top five running backs.
30:15But until then, I think you're overpaying. And Stevenson, to me at least, is the most obvious smash zero RP pick ever.
30:22Right? Because generally when I go zero RB, I'm asking myself, Jake, are there any points in week one?
30:28Are there anything? Because where I've made the mistake is having the pendulum swing too far, leave myself out in the cold in the early weeks.
30:36Right? So would you buy on that? Rashad White and Ramondre Stevenson are going to score points week one.
30:42Yes or no? I say yes. And I say definitively yes.
30:46And so I think, yeah, redraft. And by the way, and I will say even dynasty value for Trevion Henderson, way too inflated.
30:53That's another one that took zero hit based off of a performance last year.
30:58I don't get it in either format. Yeah, I don't.
31:01Sometimes this is really interesting when we talk about market machinations and going against the trend and wisdom of the crowd.
31:08Sometimes you have to be willing to say like, no.
31:11And again, we're not taking a player in the 300s no one's ever heard of.
31:16We're talking about an accomplished. Like, back with success on a winning team that's healthy and leading the way.
31:22I don't know. It's weird. I asked you if they could both score week one.
31:27I should have asked, can they lead the running back room in fantasy points week one?
31:32And again, the answer is yes. Next team up, Carolina Panthers.
31:35Okay, so they were top 12 in rush rate, but bottom 10 in explosive rush rate.
31:40They're also 30th in rushing touchdowns. You got Chuba Hubbard is back.
31:44ADP 73. He had three top 10 weeks, not a single top five week.
31:49There's a question about ceiling here. We know what happened when he got replaced by Rico Dowdle.
31:54I have not been drafting Hubbard at all. His ADP is now converging with backup Jonathan Brooks.
32:00I haven't listed it 105, but I've been in these draft room, Jake.
32:04They're getting closer to about the low 90s. They're both, they're going next to each other in the low 90s.
32:10So ADP, let me get closer to the season.
32:13We'll be using tighter windows for larger samples. But John Brooks, I mean, he had a really great 2023, but last I checked, it's 2026.
32:21We haven't seen much from him. They are over the moon about this guy, though.
32:26There is not a single report out of that team's camp that does not include Brooks and how he looks like.
32:33He could be everything. So again, to me, if you're playing for two types of ceiling in zero RB, Stevenson and White
32:40being that more vanilla lower, higher floor, lower ceiling, Brooks, if this works out right, he could be the RB1 by week
32:47three, maybe sooner if he outperforms him in camp.
32:50We saw the Panthers be willing to go away from Hubbard.
32:53So what do you think about the Brooks room?
32:56You started nudging me into Brooks, and the more I've looked, the more I've liked.
33:01Again, the price is getting high. So I saw you nodding.
33:04Where's the cutoff for Brooks? Make sure you include that, please.
33:08Yeah, the cutoff, if Brooks starts going, you know, into this dead zone running back area, which to me starts at around round six, round seven.
33:16When he starts creeping up at around six and round seven, as we get more and more positive reports, I'm assuming that'll happen.
33:24I don't know for sure. Then I'm going to be out just because we're still talking about a guy who's had two
33:31ACL tears, you know, in the last two years up to the same ACL.
33:35And I know he's gotten some distance from the injury, and I'm excited to see what his upside can look like.
33:42But it's still rough to bank on something like that right now.
33:46But I do want to try to follow the money on this, John, because that's in these dicey backfields where you're just
33:53trying to figure out who could be the real lead back.
33:56I was working my way through this. So the Panthers signed Chuba Hubbard to a four-year extension, $33 million, a few months
34:03only after spending their second round pick on Brooks.
34:06And Brooks was coming into the season injured. Obviously, he was still recovering from that first ACL injury.
34:12But Hubbard gave him a ton of, or Hubbard got a ton of money before Brooks tore the ACL a second time.
34:19So they were already, the Panthers being like, we want Hubbard to be our guy.
34:24But I don't know that it matters anymore, John, because a year prior to that, they gave Miles Sanders.
34:30Remember that guy? They gave Miles Sanders almost an equivalent contract.
34:33And then we're just like, no, screw this guy.
34:36We're moving on. He stinks. He's terrible. We're turning the backfield over to Hubbard.
34:41So if Brooks is really as good as they're saying, and they spent that second round pick on him, he could absolutely leapfrog Hubbard.
34:48And he does have a higher ceiling, a much lower floor, but a way higher ceiling, like you said.
34:55So I'm kind of willing to absorb the risk here.
34:58Yep, 100%. Love it, especially in redraft where the floor is zero.
35:02Okay, snip, snip. See you later, pal. You know, thanks for playing.
35:05Where, again, best ball in these year-long commitments, it's a little harder to pay the premium without at least the information that we want.
35:13Now, keep in mind that I'm kind of setting you up here, Jay.
35:17If you had to guess of the 134 rush attempts that Chuba Hubbard had in 2025, do you know exactly how many went for more than 20 yards?
35:26Ooh, more than 20. 20 yard, how many 20 yard rushes Chuba Hubbard had in 2025?
35:31I'll give him one just to be nice. Yeah, the answer is zero.
35:36And, you know, there's a lack of explosivity here, right?
35:39There's a lack of explosivity. In fact, he only didn't stay away from the goose egg and explosive rush rate.
35:45I think explosive rush rate might be 13. So he had one between 13 and 20.
35:50But that's it. So he's going to, like, write that three yards and a cloud of dusting because the success rate is actually pretty good, right?
35:5948% success rate. You're going to take that. And maybe the most impressive number, and this is why they like him so
36:06much, Jake, is I like to account for negative or zero.
36:09I guess, like, so let's call it non-positive attempt rate, right?
36:13Because a zero is not great either. Some people just do losses, but I don't think that's good either.
36:19And his was down at just 12%. That is fantastic.
36:22There are running backs that operate full workloads up and around or above 20, which is the truth.
36:28So he doesn't get stopped for nothing, but he's not going to get you everything.
36:33And I think the more we kind of talk through this analytically, you see why he's gotten replaced without being removed.
36:39Does that make sense? Right? He got replaced. The RB1 kind of got replaced.
36:44But he didn't get removed because his role is still extremely valuable.
36:48He's not going to give it up. He's not going to put it on the floor.
36:53He's not going to burn you. He's not going to do happy feet in the backfield and lose your six yards.
36:59He doesn't do that. And those are like sacks, which we all know kill drive.
37:04So I like Hubbard as a real football player.
37:07I think I'm off him completely now as a fantasy asset, right?
37:11He kind of had that chance, didn't run away with it.
37:15Man, this has been a really good episode. When I have quick notes, I keep myself from tangenting too much.
37:21Last but not least, of course, Denver Broncos, those high expectations.
37:24Bottom 12 rush rate, but also bottom 12 in EPA per attempt.
37:28They were 31st in yards after contact per rush.
37:31Not great. You've got RJ Harvey to choose from.
37:34ADP 87. Also very late for an RB1, depending.
37:37He had three top 10 weeks, two top five.
37:40So there is some ceiling because of the rushing floor.
37:43JK Dobbins, ADP 100. No top 10. Again, it's all kind of rushing impact.
37:48This one, I put that phrase I mentioned before, thunder and lightning, because this really is the closest we have to it.
37:55Dobbins is all the important ground yards. And if they're down, he's kind of out and they go right to Harvey.
38:01So you have like weekly floors where you can get games scripted out.
38:05They both seem start worthy on a per week basis, though the Broncos have been known to go to RB3, 4, and 5 sometimes.
38:13Yeah. I've been finding myself kind of out, though Harvey's been one of the fallers, Jake.
38:18And when I've seen him in the triple digit ADP, I've seen him at pick 100.
38:23Then I'm jumping on board. Dobbins not so much because I like my running backs to catch.
38:29What do you think about the Broncos' tailbacks? Welcome to Alaska Airlines.

40:59Bro, from the show last night to this drive, why is it never chill?
41:04Because this is our live. Backstage, on the road, it's loud, messy, real.
41:08And that's the best part. Whole crew, no plan, just moving.
41:12Good thing Nissan builds for that kind of chaos.
41:14Not just test tracks, real life scenes, late nights, road trips, all of it.
41:19That's why it holds up. Nissan was ranked number one in initial quality among mainstream brands by J.D.
41:25Power. Yeah, you can tell. 2026 Nissan Rogue built for what really happens.

41:37Yeah, Harvey had the kind of off-season fall that I expected from Travion Henderson last year, even though Harvey ended on a much better note.
41:45Granted, that was because J.K. Dobbins got injured and Harvey came in and he looked solid.
41:50But I'll be honest, John, I hate this backfield.
41:53I hate it with a burning white hot passion because here's the thing.
41:57I know that J.K. Dobbins is going to lead this backfield in touches until he gets hurt.
42:03But I don't know when that's going to be.
42:05And I'm not sure that I even care because as you said, Dobbins doesn't catch passes.
42:11Last year, 10 games, he had 11 catches. He had more games with negative receiving yards than games with double-digit receiving yards.
42:18So you're just banking on touchdowns with him. And Jonah Coleman, the rookie comes in, who I've started to grow to like
42:25a lot, especially in Dynasty, he's a legitimate three-down running back.
42:28So I think he's more competition for Dobbins straight up than Harvey or Jaleel McLaughlin were last year.
42:34So I think the bull case for any of these guys, and it's pick your poison, but the bull case is the
42:41Broncos take a step forward as a scoring offense.
42:44You know, they bring in Jalen Waddell. Bo Nix just continues to improve.
42:48All that's great. We expect them to throw less because they threw a ton last year, 600-plus passes from Bo Nix.
42:55You know, Bo Nix's late season ankle injury. Maybe he doesn't take off and run himself so much.
43:01And he gives that to the actual running backs on the field.
43:04But I don't know. It just feels like even when Dobbins was healthy last year, he was the RB 24 in points per game.
43:12That's fine. That's where you're drafting him. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that.
43:17But I don't know that we're getting 10 games, John.
43:20What if we get five games of J.K. Dobbins as sort of this fringe RB 2?
43:25I don't know. I kind of just don't even want to deal with it.
43:30I don't think Harvey did anything to usurp Dobbins this year.
43:33So I'm not banking on him. And yeah, Jonah Coleman is somebody I'll probably just look at for a midseason waiver pickup, assuming that J.K.
43:41Dobbins gets hurt. Yeah, I'm with you. Coleman passes a lot of the sniff tests, usage and abilities in both sides of the game.
43:49But it's always going to be difficult because, you know, last year we saw it.
43:54You mentioned Jaleel McLaughlin, right? He had at least four carries in eight of their last nine games.
43:59Those are touches we want. And as if like that wasn't bad enough, you know, Tyler Beatty made at least one grab in more games than not.
44:08And it doesn't sound like a lot. But when a split backfield is sacrificing 789 RB touches, that's a bunch of snaps
44:15and it just hurts everybody across the board. I guess I'm still taking Harvey as like a flex pick, but I'm with you.
44:23Let's say you talk me off and I was already kind of heading towards the ledge.
44:28I'm going to stick with my if Harvey post 100, then press yes button.
44:32But other than that, I'm really out. Like you mentioned, not only are the Broncos really creative with usage, they brought in
44:39pieces, which is going to shake up that Etch-A-Sketch again.
44:42Jake, that was really awesome. And we got through all six teams.
