All RotoWire NFL Articles insights about Kyle Monangai

PositiveRoleSep 14, 2026
Kyle Monangai played 44% of snaps and took 10 touches for 100 yards and 1 TD, including a 61-yard TD run. He had a 36% route share and mostly alternated drives with D'Andre Swift. After the first three drives where Swift dominated (74% of snaps, nine of 10 RB carries), Monangai played 52% of snaps and had the same number of touches (11) as Swift. Both stayed active through the fourth quarter. The source notes that Ben Johnson clearly trusts Monangai, even though Swift got the high-leverage carries.
NegativeBustSep 5, 2026
Kyle Monangai looked like a real find from Weeks 7-13, averaging 5.2 yards per carry and 13 PPR points per game, but defenses adjusted to Chicago's five-man fronts and he cratered, dropping to 3.7 yards per carry and 7.3 points per game down the stretch and into the playoffs. Jim Coventry notes the counter came fast with no answer and advises fading Monangai until he proves the second version wasn't the real one. Monangai is also working his way back from a preseason knee injury.
NegativeValueJul 27, 2026
Kyle Monangai at 93.4 Underdog ADP is overpriced for his role as a good RB2 and excellent closer for the Bears. While Monangai is excellent in ball security and never fumbles, he is a clear liability on passing downs. His fantasy investors are paying as if he can be more than a rushing specialist, but at this price he isn't especially useful if D'Andre Swift is healthy. If Monangai struggles as a receiver in 2026 the way he did in 2025, he'll probably lose snaps on passing downs because his rookie receiving numbers were plainly unacceptable.
