NegativeRoleSep 9, 2026
With Josh Jacobs sidelined, Lloyd is expected to operate as the lead back, with Chris Brooks and perhaps Pierre Strong Jr. also involved. Lloyd is an unproven commodity (he's appeared in one game in two pro seasons due to a variety of injuries), but the 2024 third-round pick is well positioned for 15 or so touches in Matt LaFleur's RB-friendly scheme. There's obvious risk, especially against a good Minnesota defense, but Lloyd can be viewed as an RB2/flex option in the season opener.
NegativeMatchupSep 9, 2026
Lloyd faces an unfavorable Week 1 matchup for the Packers at Minnesota despite season-long upside following Josh Jacobs' placement on the Commissioner's Exempt List. Lloyd's ADP improved dramatically over the past month, rising from undrafted into the 10th round. However, he is no guarantee to see the level of usage expected from a typical feature back, as Chris Brooks appears likely to handle a good amount of three-down work. The Vikings defense allowed only six games of 15-plus fantasy points to running backs in all of 2025, making this backfield best left to the sidelines for Week 1 evaluation.
