NegativeUsageOct 30, 2026Yahoo Sports NFL

Miller's early-down metrics are poor: 52.5% stuff rate and 19.0% rushing success rate. Combined with the Saints' run-blocking issues (25th in composite PFF grade despite 13th in run-block win rate), backup RBs are being met at or behind the line of scrimmage on over half their early-down carries, limiting Miller's upside in a struggling Saints run game.

The source notes that the Saints' run blocking is league average (13th in run-block win rate) but the backup RBs have struggled to convert opportunities.

Miller had 13 of 26 backfield opportunities (50.0%) but on only 22 of 57 snaps (39%, down from 44% in Week 6), yielding 0.59 opportunities per snap. He ran 8 times for 6 yards and caught 3 of 5 for 22 yards. Despite equal opportunity count with Kamara, Miller's snap share decline and lower efficiency suggest diminished role going forward.

Miller contributed 6 rushing yards in the Saints' game against Pittsburgh Steelers, part of a historically ineffective 18-yard team rushing performance. Miller carried the ball for 6 rushing yards in the Saints' Week 8 game against Pittsburgh, contributing to the team's historically poor 18-yard rushing performance. This reflects systemic offensive line and run-game issues beyond individual player performance.

NegativeBustOct 27, 2026Fantasy Life Articles

Miller appeared to emerge as the Saints' lead running back after a 20-carry effort in Week 6, but that was very short-lived. In Week 7 in Paris, Miller logged just 39% of snaps and eight carries for six yards. The Saints rushing attack is severely struggling, averaging just 0.88 yards before contact per rush. With the team heading to bye in Week 8 and no immediate improvement expected until after, Miller is not worth holding through the bye.

Running back ranking 39th in yards per carry among 41 NFL running backs with 40+ carries at 2.8 ypc; part of Saints rushing offense that has been historically poor all season, including Week 7 performance where team ran 17 times for 18 yards total; offensive line issues with both injuries and poor run-blocking ability are primary cause of ground game struggles.

Miller is underperforming in the Saints' struggling rushing offense, ranking 39th among 41 running backs with 40+ carries in yards per carry at 2.8 ypc. Miller ranks 39th in yards per carry (2.8 ypc) among 41 NFL running backs with 40+ carries, the second-worst mark on the Saints. The offensive line's poor run-blocking ability and injury issues are the primary culprit, not the running back talent itself.

NegativeRoleOct 25, 2026Yahoo Fantasy Football

Miller led the Saints with eight carries in Week 7 but converted them into just six yards, showing inefficiency after a career-high 20 carries for 70 yards in Week 6. With Alvin Kamara's strong receiving skill set and Travis Etienne Jr. eligible to return from IR in Week 9, Miller's time as a featured back appears over. Kamara is more likely to remain involved as a change-of-pace option post-Etienne return, making Miller a low-upside, touchdown-dependent flex to drop.

Kendre Miller led the Saints' rushing attack against the Giants with 70 rushing yards on 3.5 yards per carry, highlighting the Saints' best rushing performance of the season. The source emphasizes this rushing success as critical for the Saints to find their third win of the season against Pittsburgh's strong run defense.

PositiveProjectionOct 24, 2026FantasyPros Articles

The Saints' backfield has dissolved into a gross three-way committee with Kendre Miller handling the bulk of the early-down work. Last week, he finished with 22 touches (20 carries) and 70 total yards with a 45.6% snap rate, 52.6% of the rushing work, and a 15.6% route share (6.7% target share). Derek Brown views Miller as a viable flex option again this week, but notes his per-touch rushing efficiency has been putrid: only a 2.4% explosive run rate, 1.73 yards after contact per attempt, and a 12% missed tackle rate. If the Saints are playing from behind this week, Miller could easily get gamescripted out of the Week 7 action. Miller needs the Saints to play with a lead and a touchdown to likely pay off for fantasy purposes, both questionable propositions in Week 7.

Miller is a sit despite his 20 carries in Week 5. The Saints have run 60 plays with a lead this season, with over half coming last week as they ran out the clock on the Giants. The Saints are the second-most run-heavy team with a lead but rank 17th in run rate when playing from behind. Vegas expects Pittsburgh to control the game, meaning Miller will see limited volume.
