PositiveRoleOct 13, 2026Field Gulls

TE3 on depth chart with minimal production: one catch and one personal foul penalty on an interception in which he was the target through early 2026 season. Sam Darnold has thrown four interceptions targeting Arroyo compared to just one touchdown dating back to last year. Not trusted in the run game; when asked to block, he's often irrelevant to the play. Primarily used on vertical concepts, creating predictability issues. Arroyo is not a schematic match for an offense that relies heavily on 12 and 13 personnel and requires tight ends to be credible blockers.

Primarily used on vertical concepts with very limited route diversity; the source notes that if Arroyo isn't trusted as a run blocker and is only used on vertical deep routes, the offense becomes predictable. Blocking was a known weakness entering the draft, and the mismatch-hunter-in-space concept has not materialized consistently; appears to be a schematic mismatch for an offense that relies heavily on 12 and 13 personnel and requires tight ends to be credible blockers.

Has one catch and one personal foul penalty on an interception in 2026; Sam Darnold has thrown four interceptions targeting Arroyo compared to just one touchdown dating back to last year. Listed as TE3 on depth chart and does not outsnap journeyman blocking tight end Eric Saubert; All-22 film suggests he is generally not trusted in the run game and is primarily used on vertical concepts, creating predictability problems for the offense.
