Dotson was targeted multiple times in the Falcons' upset win, including a crossing route over the middle that he didn't catch, a first down throw, and a deep completion attempt that was incomplete; he also benefited from pass interference calls that gave the Falcons first downs, demonstrating involvement in the passing attack despite some incompletions.

Penix Jr. connected with Jahan Dotson for 32 yards on a stop route, where Dotson made a nice hesitation move that turned a solid completion into an explosive gain. It was a sharp play beating Chicago's five-man pressure. However, Dotson's career inconsistency and overall limitations make you cautious about his ability to create separation on the outside often enough to give Penix Jr. high-percentage looks against blitzes.

Jahan Dotson has emerged as a key contributor for the Falcons; over his last three games, he has seven receptions, but the nature of his catches is impressive—he averaged 27.0 yards per catch twice and last week averaged 29 yards per catch with two touchdowns. Running routes from the slot, Dotson can exploit coverage weaknesses, particularly against defenders dealing with injuries.

Jahan Dotson has emerged as a key weapon for the Falcons despite being a journeyman receiver. Over his last three games, Dotson has seven receptions but with exceptional efficiency: he averaged 27.0 yards per catch twice and last week averaged 29 yards per catch with two touchdowns. His slot routes create a potential matchup advantage against the 49ers' secondary, particularly with Upton Stout dealing with an injury.

PositiveSleeperOct 22, 2026FantasyPros Articles

Jahan Dotson was mentioned as a sleeper last week and responded with 3 catches for 87 yards and 1 touchdown, usable as a strong flex option. He has been consistent with a 12%-16% target share in every game, a season-high 85% of snaps in Week 6, and two red-zone targets in each of the last two games. Atlanta is implied for nearly 24 points in a 50.5 implied total game against the 49ers, who should keep the game competitive. While the likely scenario flows through Bijan and London, Dotson has meaningful opportunity in a high-scoring environment.

Jahan Dotson has emerged as a useful rotational receiver for the Falcons with a 33.2% air yard share (second on the team behind London) and is currently the WR31 in fantasy with 206 catches and two touchdowns on eight receptions. Matt Harmon was high on Dotson as a prospect and kept the candle lit for him to eventually become useful after he fell out of favor in Washington and was buried behind star wideouts in Philadelphia. He's the team's primary vertical X-receiver with a 17.6 air yards per target mark under Penix, filling a role Harmon imagined differently but is pleased to see materialize.
