RotoWire NFL Articles on Samaje Perine

Perine's goal-line TD came on a situational substitution, not a role change.

Perine scored a one-yard TD early in the fourth quarter and subbed in for Brown on the drive where he scored, ripping off a 15-yard run to take Cincinnati inside the 10-yard line before staying in for the goal-line run on first down. The source characterizes this as probably just bad luck for Brown rather than a shift in role.
