Gainwell's 140 yards came in historic 55-run game; unlikely to repeat.

Gainwell earned a career-high 25 carries in Week 8 and posted the best rushing day of his career with 140 yards in a historically bizarre Buccaneers game where they passed three times and completed zero passes (the first time an NFL team failed to complete a pass since 1974). Gainwell racked up 18 of his 25 carries in the fourth quarter after Bucky Irving was put on ice. The Bucs face the Bears on the road next week and are not going to run the ball 55 times, leaving Gainwell as a thin RB4 play for Week 9.
