Gainwell earned a career-high 25 carries in Week 8 and posted the best rushing day of his career with 140 yards. That also came in the context of a historically bizarre game from the Bucs. They passed the ball three times and did not complete one of them. The last time an NFL team didn't complete a pass in a game was 1974.

Gainwell's 140-yard, 25-carry game was inflated by historic Bucs passing collapse.

Gainwell earned a career-high 25 carries in Week 8 and posted the best rushing day of his career with 140 yards in a historically bizarre Buccaneers game where they passed three times and completed zero. Gainwell racked up 18 of his carries in the fourth quarter after Bucky Irving was put on ice for the day. The Bucs face the Bears on the road next week and are not going to run the ball 55 times. Gainwell remains a thin RB4 play for Week 9.
