Willis gaining starting experience in Slowik's timing-based system; learning to use legs after pocket-passer tendencies.

Willis has played in only 29 career games with just 13 starts despite being a third-round pick in 2022, giving him the starting experience of a rookie. He is beginning to find comfort in Bobby Slowik's offensive system built on quarterback accuracy and timing, which uses bootlegs, run-pass options, and play-action passes to get him out of the pocket. Willis initially struggled with a desire to be a pocket passer, staying in the pocket longer than he should and taking sacks by running out of bounds instead of throwing the ball away, but has opened up his legs in recent weeks. The offense uses half-field concepts to keep Willis looking in one area rather than searching the entire field, a basic system design to help him manage the speed of the game.
