Giants acquired McCarthy in trade; Winston starter for now, timeline to QB1 unclear.

J.J. McCarthy was acquired by the New York Giants in a trade with the Minnesota Vikings following Jaxson Dart's season-ending knee surgery. John Harbaugh confirmed that Jameis Winston remains the Giants' starting quarterback for the foreseeable future, but McCarthy's timeline to assume the starting job is uncertain, with fan speculation ranging from never taking over to potentially starting in two to three weeks, over the bye week, or in December depending on Winston's performance against Arizona, Washington, and New Orleans.
