0:00Hello and welcome to Episode 990 of the official Establish The Run podcast.
0:05My name is Adam Levitan. I am one of the co-founders here at ETR, and it is time for the show you cannot survive without, Market Monday.
0:16Each Monday, I examine the biggest risers and fallers in Best Ball ADP and discuss whether I'm buying or selling these players at their new prices.
0:26The idea is simple, give you an idea of how the market is thinking about players and also how I'm thinking about them.
0:35Reminder, if you want to use the rankings that the guys who won both the DraftKings and Underdog Best Ball flagships last
0:44year for $2 million each, you need the ETR Best Ball product.
0:49Obviously, I'm biased, but the reason all the sharpest people upload our rankings before they draft is because they know how hard
0:57we grind every shred of information to ensure our uploadable rankings are as accurate as possible.
1:04Our Best Ball product is just $60 and renews 365 days from your purchase date.
1:10So head to EstablishTheRun.com for us. Details. Also, for my true grinders out there, if you're putting in volume, you should check out the Solver Draft Assistant.
1:20As Sam Shepard, the DK winner, did last year.
1:24Link to the Solver Draft Assistant is in the Best Ball tab on ETR.
1:29All right, going to start with the Risers from the Last 7 days.
1:35First one up, Rashad White, Commanders running back, up 4.2 spots to 114 overall on DraftKings.
1:41The NFL did not think very highly of Rashad White in free agency.
1:46He settled for a one-year contract with a base value of just $2 million from the Commanders, only $1.7 million guaranteed.
1:54In other words, less money than the Bucs are paying Sean Tucker to be their number three running back this year, for example.
2:04And I think the reason that the NFL doesn't love Rashad White, he's just not a needle mover.
2:11His calling card is pass catching and pass protection, but he's at 3.9 yards per carry for his career.
2:18The reason that Rashad White is getting steamed up here in Best Ball is simply projectable snaps.
2:25Ja'Cory Krosky-Meritt is a zero in the pass game.
2:28He's a base back only. Katron Allen is a round six rookie.
2:33The Commanders are extremely weak at wide receiver behind Terry McLaurin, in theory, making Rashad's pass catching a priority.
2:41And, you know, I do agree with the projectable snaps take.
2:45I mean, I think Rashad White will lead this backfield in snaps by a wide margin, especially if the team is bad again and trailing a lot.
2:56Commanders' win total is around seven right now. I also think Rashad White is a sneakier example of better in Best Ball.
3:04You don't want to start Rashad White in your season-long league.
3:09There's just not a huge ceiling here. But from a usable weak perspective, can Rashad White catch 50-plus balls and get seven to eight carries per game?
3:20Certainly. So, I was taking Rashad White when he was going in the 130s and the 120s, and I needed a running back.
3:29At 114, it's just a much tougher sell. I want to be going upside wide receiver in that range a lot here, like Ricky Pearsall or Matthew Golden.
3:40And at 114, I often need to be making sure I'm getting quarterback there before it falls off a cliff.
3:48And if I am going running back there, I prefer J.K.
3:52Dobbins over Rashad White. So, I just think he's becoming expensive relative to a really low ceiling.
3:59Second riser, Jalen Coker up one spot to 128 overall.
4:03I think this is somewhat related to the contract extension that Jalen Coker got from the Panthers last week.
4:10But he's also up a bunch. Coker is in Best Ball ADP over the last month as well.
4:17Reminder, if you didn't see it, Panthers gave former undrafted free agent Jalen Coker a three-year, $35 million deal with $19 million guaranteed.
4:26I actually wish that didn't happen because it just tipped the general public off that the Panthers view Coker as their wide receiver too.
4:36Ahead of Xavier Leggett. Ahead of Chris Brazel, the rookie.
4:40To anyone that was paying attention, I think that was already obvious.
4:45Coker not only massively outplayed Xavier Leggett the last two seasons, but Coker's peripherals weren't that far off Ted Arroyo McMillans down the stretch last year.
4:55So I think we know Jalen Coker can play.
4:58I think we know he's locked in as an every-down wide receiver.
5:03The tougher question is, what is the wide receiver two for a Bryce Young offense really worth?
5:10I mean, the Panthers are so obviously trying to hide Bryce.
5:14They were 29th in pass rate over expectation last season.
5:18Bryce had more than 30 pass attempts just five times all year.
5:23And when he does throw, it's just not very efficient.
5:27Bryce was 30th in yards per attempt last year, 34th in yards per attempt in 2004.
5:33So as this Jalen Coker ADP rises, we're falling a bit behind market on our rank.
5:40The market's reacting to the contract, which again, doesn't really change anything really.
5:45We already knew he had this role. So I'll take Coker as part of like running back heavy starts where I need usable wide receiver weeks.
5:55But I'm just not going to get overexcited about Bryce Young wide receivers.
6:00Third riser, Jalen Warren up 2.5 spots to 78 overall.
6:04I've had a really hard time parsing between Jalen Warren and Rico Dowdle in this Steelers backfield.
6:11My initial lean was Dowdle was the one who coaches have actually given workhorse roles to previously.
6:18One of those coaches being new Steelers coach, Mike McCarthy.
6:22That was the 2004 season when McCarthy's Cowboys gave Dowdle, I thought, a well-earned 286 opportunities.
6:28Then he goes to Carolina last year, beats out Chuba Hubbard for much of the season, and gets 285 more opportunities.
6:36I would absolutely love to see Jalen Warren push towards 300 opportunities in a season.
6:42I think the guy is legit good. Underlying metrics are really strong, but it's just really hard to see that happening.
6:50I mean, multiple staffs consistently viewed Jalen Warren as more of a 1A, 1B rather than a workhorse.
6:58So if we know that Jalen Warren's touch volume is capped, how high can we take him?
7:04I do think it's important to understand that Aaron Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks possible for a pass-catching running back in fantasy.
7:14Rodgers is interception-averse, sack-averse. He checks down to running backs a ton.
7:19Steelers ranked second in running back targets last season behind only the Christian McCaffrey 49ers.
7:25So right now, we're actually ahead of market on both Jalen Warren and Rico Dowdle, where it's 72 overall Warren, 76 Dowdle.
7:33The other aspect here is you get the contingent upside.
7:37If Dowdle gets hurt, I mean, it's a turbo smash for Jalen Warren.
7:42The reason that I don't end up with more Jalen Warren is I prefer Ramondre Stevenson.
7:49I think I prefer Tony Pollard in that range.
7:52And then also in this range where Warren goes, you get the underpriced elite quarterbacks around there like Jaden Daniels and Jalen Hurts.
8:01But I definitely want to ensure I'm mixing in, you know, enough Warren, especially if I feel like I'm behind at running back there at the start.
8:12Let's get to this week's fallers. Chris Alave down 1.7 spots to 29 overall.
8:18I think this is related to the blood clot issue Alave has been dealing with.
8:24Remember, Alave missed week 18 last season due to a blood clot in his lung.
8:29Headlines last week were that he was still dealing with it and has only been doing individual work at OTAs.
8:37And that scared a lot of people. And then Nick Underhill comes out and tweets that actually everything's going according to plan.
8:46Alave will be off. The blood thinner is June 29th.
8:50He'll be ready for the season. So there's some risk on this, you know, blood clot situation, but I suspect that it's very small.
9:00And so we never really moved our rank on Alave, which has been aggressive this entire process.
9:06We're at 25 overall on DraftKings for Alave. I mean, it's just an incredible setup for him.
9:13Kellen Moore is going to play fast. I trust his scheme to be efficient.
9:19Offensive line is getting McCoy back. They added David Edwards.
9:2210 dome games. Schedule is very good. The pass rush and the corner play is likely to be bad for the Saints setting up shootouts.
9:32So I remain fine taking Alave at the 2-3 turn, especially on full PPR sites like DraftKings.
9:39Second faller, Dak Prescott down 2.3 spots to 79 overall.
9:43I've been watching the quarterback ADPs pretty closely, waiting for some corrections.
9:48And maybe this is a start, you know, as Dak is a pure pocket passer who will need really, really strong volume
9:57and really strong efficiency to beat out the ceiling outcomes of guys like Jalen Hurts, Jaden Daniels, Drake May, and the other dual threats.
10:06And that's not to say that I don't like Dak this season because I do.
10:12I mean, he's just such a good bet to throw for 4,000 plus yards and 30 plus touchdowns.
10:19Cowboys are going to run a ton of plays.
10:23And Dak also is a good pick in best ball because he's so correlated to his pass catchers when you get them.
10:31My issue with Dak is more the macro at quarterback this season.
10:36You're telling me Dak goes just one round later than Drake May, just eight picks after Jaden Daniels.
10:43So I don't really think that it's Dak is going too high.
10:48I just think the running quarterbacks, the elite running quarterbacks are going too late.
10:54And so I've only been taking Dak when I get CeeDee Lamb or George Pickens.
10:59And I've been taking Alave and Nico over George Pickens a decent amount.
11:05So I just don't have a lot of Cowboy stacks right now, which doesn't feel great.
11:11I might correct that some. I'd like to see the prices on Pickens and Dak specifically hopefully come down a little bit more.
11:20Last faller, Jets rookie Kenyon Sadiq down 2.7 spots to 156 overall.
11:25Really interesting situation here. I want to respect the prospect.
11:29Kenyon Sadiq was always considered a lock round one pick in the NFL draft.
11:34Really a lock early slash mid round one pick ends up going 16th overall.
11:40I also want to respect the history of rookie tight ends.
11:44Yes, some have hit lately, namely Sam Laporta, Brock Bowers, last season Tyler Warren at the beginning, Colson Loveland at the end.
11:53But generally, rookie tight ends have been pretty poor bets.
11:57And I can't believe I'm saying this, but the Jets actually have a lot of mouths to feed this season.
12:05Brees Hall, Garrett Wilson, Aidy Mitchell, Omar Cooper. They spent the 42nd overall pick on tight end Mason Taylor last year.
12:13And so we're asking Geno Smith and a Frank Reich offense to elevate these guys, including Sadiq.
12:20So I think the floor on Sadiq is pretty low.
12:24I also think you don't find much upside at 156 overall right now.
12:29Now, Sadiq, remember, ran 4-3-9th at Combine with a 43-inch vertical at 6-3-241.
12:34I mean, the guy is legit a 99th percentile athlete at the tight end position.
12:40So overall, we did come down on our Kenyon Sadiq rank lately, but we're still ahead of market in best ball.
12:48I think in redraft, Sadiq is an interesting stash in deeper formats or tight end heavy scoring systems just to see how it goes.
12:58And if it's too crowded or he's not ready, it can be an easy drop.
13:04All right. That is going to do it for another edition of Market Monday.
