Brian Thomas Jr.

PositiveProjection12:15

Cautiously optimistic on year-two bounce-back despite rookie season struggles and prior analytical misses. The source acknowledges being wrong twice on BTJ (initially skeptical, then surprised by rookie production with M. Jones, then wrong again on durability/consistency). Rookie season production split reveals significant quarterback dependency: with M. Jones, BTJ had three games over 100 receiving yards and five games with 7+ receptions across six games with 10+ targets; with Trevor Lawrence, zero games over 100 yards and zero games with 7+ receptions across six games with 10+ targets. Now expects role change toward downfield target rather than high-volume receiver; projects fewer receptions but potential for big plays. ADP dropped to seventh round from second round last year (22nd overall); source is not actively targeting him in drafts despite acknowledging a potential 'buy the dip' angle, but does like his receiving total prop and believes he will bounce back in year two with more system comfort.

Insight page

Calvin Ridley

PositiveBreakout29:14

The source believes Ridley has a real chance to produce in Arizona. Training camp intel from someone on-site last year reported Ridley was still dominating on the practice field. Arizona's offense improved significantly from last year's joke-level unit, Cam Ward has another year of development, and Ridley is now properly cast as a number two receiver (shot-play guy). The source projects him as a volatile but potentially high-upside play similar to an older DeShaun Jackson, making him a completely free pick with upside.

Insight page

Carnell Tate

NegativeRole27:06

Tate is a talented rookie WR who will likely be Tennessee's number one receiver, but the source is skeptical of drafting him. Tate didn't establish himself as a true WR1 at Ohio State and now faces competition from Kelvin Ridley (professional), Juan Dell (paid heavily), and Eliam Maner (solid last year). While Tate has shown good vibes in OTAs and training camp with football intelligence, the source views him as probably not a good pick unless he generates significant touchdown upside, given Dell will scoop up underneath targets.

Insight page

Chris Bell

NegativeInjury5:12

Third-round wide receiver out of Louisville coming off an ACL injury; will start the season on the NFI list with unknown duration, creating significant uncertainty around his availability and role in Miami's receiver depth chart. The source also notes Bell is inefficient, averaging 6 yards per catch, limiting his upside even when healthy.

Insight page

Chris Brooks

NegativeRole48:48

Packers RB is the recommended handcuff target behind Josh Jacobs; while the Packers don't appear to want to share carries with Brooks or Marshon Lloyd in normal circumstances, Brooks is the default backup to prioritize in late-round drafts or waiver strategy given Jacobs' late-season decline and injury risk.

Insight page

Chris Godwin

PositiveValue21:21

The source likes Godwin's price and notes Baker Mayfield's connection to him. At 30 years old with accumulated injuries, Godwin could still post 120 targets and have a strong year. The source called him a breakout player in 2019 and appreciates his versatility (inside/outside alignment). Positioned as a value play given the uncertainty in Tampa Bay's target distribution and the shift toward younger alternatives like Jaylen McMillan.

Insight page

De'Von Achane

PositiveRole6:20

Could emerge as Miami's leading receiver by catching 100 balls out of the backfield, positioning him as a potential pass-catching focal point in the Dolphins offense. This role would give him significant target volume and fantasy upside.

Insight page

Denzel Boston

PositiveSleeper40:43

Cleveland rookie wide receiver who slipped in the draft; the source expresses surprise at his draft slip and states 'I like him a lot as a long-term prospect,' positioning him as an undervalued long-term fantasy asset despite the draft slide.

Insight page

Devontez Walker

NegativeRole37:17

North Carolina receiver competing for Ravens WR role; the source notes he was 'very good' at the Senior Bowl but 'kept dropping balls,' which is a significant concern for his fantasy viability despite physical tools.

Insight page

Drake London

PositiveRole35:08

Locked-in as the primary target in the Falcons passing offense; the source states the passing offense will go through Drake London and Kyle Pitts, establishing him as a core fantasy asset.

Insight page

Jakobi Meyers

PositiveValue10:04

Jacksonville WR1 candidate with strong underlying data; 14.6 yards per reception and outstanding preseason performance; from week 8 onward with Jacksonville, ran 91% of routes (most on team) with 23% target share across 10 games; positioned as cheaper alternative to Parker Washington and Brian Thomas Jr., both within a round of his ADP; historical parallel to his success outside with Raiders despite Hunter Renfroe slot competition suggests outside receiver role is sustainable. The source notes Myers is a guy you could draft in super deep leagues, but 'nobody's excited about him,' suggesting limited mainstream appeal despite the underlying value.

Insight page

Jalen McMillan

PositiveSleeper23:01

The source loves Jaylen McMillan as a tremendous 13th-round pick with exceptional ROI potential and inside-outside versatility. McMillan scored 8 touchdowns on 47 targets in his rookie year and seemed to click well with Baker Mayfield. The source is actively targeting him as a high-upside late-round target in response to Godwin's age and injury concerns, emphasizing potential ROI and describing him as a guy who stands out.

Insight page

Jalen Tolbert

PositiveRole5:46

Expected to be an anchor receiver for Miami Dolphins to open the season; the source notes Tolbert is a veteran former Cowboy who will likely be the team's primary receiver option early in the year. In 2024 with Dallas, he saw 79 targets and 7 touchdowns, providing a baseline for production expectations in Miami's passing game.

Insight page

James Conner

PositiveValue33:43

At 31 years old, Connor presents interesting trade/injury upside in competitive leagues; the source sees potential for him to be traded to a team suffering an injury, and notes that when on the field in the NFL, he has been productive, making him a speculative target despite current Cardinals backfield uncertainty. The source acknowledges uncertainty about what Connor has left in his body at 31, but emphasizes his proven productivity when healthy.

Insight page

Jameson Williams

NegativeProjection47:09

Lions WR faces a downgrade for 2025 due to offensive line concerns; despite liking Williams on tape as a 'massive target monger,' the source is not drafting him this year for the first time in three years, citing uncertainty around the Lions' new offensive line composition as a key reason for the fade.

Insight page

Jeremiyah Love

NegativeBust4:45

Cardinals running back facing significant backfield competition and depth chart uncertainty; the source explicitly does not want him, noting he cannot get every touch in a crowded backfield with Tyler Algier, Cedric Benson, and James Connor also in the mix.

Insight page

Jerry Jeudy

PositiveValue40:16

Available at 180 overall ADP in 13th-14th round; was the clear number one receiver for Cleveland last year and should open the season in that role; still only 27 years old; the source added him to player target list as a sneaky sixth receiver option who may prove more reliable than expected and should have a very long role.

Insight page

Jordyn Tyson

NegativeValue16:48

ADP of 77 overall (mid-7th round) is too rich for a player the source is not drafting. Route running concerns from college tape, injury history, and lack of readiness to contribute immediately are cited as reasons to avoid. The source leans no on whether Tyson is ready to contribute right away for the Saints under Kliff Kingsbury, expecting a role similar to Rasheed Shahed—deep routes and best-ball type target rather than consistent weekly fantasy option. Suggests deeper league flex consideration only; not drafting him due to imprecise route running, lack of great route-running pedigree from college, and injury history.

Insight page

Kyle Pitts

PositiveRole35:08

Locked-in as the primary tight end target in the Falcons passing offense; the source states the passing offense will go through Drake London and Kyle Pitts, establishing him as a core fantasy asset.

Insight page

Malik Washington

NegativeUsage5:46

Poor receiving efficiency at 6.9 yards per catch, which the source characterizes as 'truly pathetic.' This metric suggests limited upside as a receiver option in Miami's depth chart despite being in the mix for targets.

Insight page

Mark Andrews

PositiveRole36:57

Locked-in as the Ravens' primary tight end target; the source explicitly states 'I think Mark Andrews is pretty locked in here' and reiterates 'I also like Mark Andrews,' establishing him as a core fantasy asset.

Insight page

Matthew Golden

NegativeRole50:06

Packers gadget player's role expansion for 2025 is completely unknown; the source identifies Golden as a key training camp question mark, noting his current gadget-type usage and mobility but expressing uncertainty about whether the Packers will expand his offensive role or keep him in a limited capacity.

Insight page

Omar Cooper Jr.

PositiveSleeper30:30

Polished, savvy rookie receiver from Indiana with smooth route-running ability and decent after-the-catch skills. The source really enjoyed watching him during the playoffs and notes he's been the Jets' offseason star. Despite not being a draft target, the source identifies him as one of the first guys to target on the waiverwire because there is something tangible there as a professional receiver.

Insight page

Parker Washington

PositiveBreakout10:04

Subject of a strong hype train driven by Scott Barrett; positioned as a potential breakout candidate comparable to Jackson Smith-Njigba's ascent from inside to outside receiver. Early eighth-round ADP; two-receiver set potential could lock him into a featured role given his strong preseason performance. The source prefers Parker Washington over Brian Thomas Jr. at their respective ADPs based on recent performance, citing Parker Washington's last observed performance as superior to BTJ's recent struggles.

Insight page

RJ Harvey

NegativeRole42:06

Expected to be number two running back alongside JK Dobbins to open the season, but not on the source's list based on last year's showing and the drafting of Jonah Coleman; had pass protection issues last year that caused Shawn Payton to distrust him; unclear if he's gained trust heading into camp; may not be the lead back, goal line back, or even guaranteed third down back; the source would only draft him contrarian, not based on logic.

Insight page

T.J. Hockenson

NegativeBust2:32

John Hansen explicitly identifies Hockenson as a major draft mistake from last year, citing the Vikings quarterback situation as the root cause. Hansen notes he was 'too high on him' because the quarterback 'had no body work,' and commits to never making that mistake again by raising his criteria for player backing.

Insight page

Zachariah Branch

PositiveSleeper35:26

Rookie wide receiver competing for Falcons WR3 opportunity; the source leans toward Branch over Jan Dodson and Olia Zakias, noting he has 'a little bit of Debo in there' and can get manufactured touches via screens and dump-offs in a schemed-up offense. Positioned as a 13th-14th round value pick with upside in the secondary receiver tier behind Drake London and Kyle Pitts.

0:13all across the fantasy universe. Good morning. What's going on everybody?
0:18Welcome to a very special edition of the Fantasy Points podcast here live on YouTube. Uh Brian Drake alongside the guru John Hansen. pinch hitting today
0:28for Graham Barfield. Glad uh that John and I can come in and today talk about stuff nobody knows, John. And you made a
0:36great point before we went live and you said, "Let's just stop trying to be know-it-alls. Let's just say there's crap that we don't know and we don't
0:46have to act like we've got the biggest brains in the room. Sometimes we just got to let it play out." How you doing,
0:51my friend? Good morning.
0:52>> Doing well. Doing well. Nice setup there. Yeah, no doubt about it. And look, I I've been guilty of it, too.
0:56We're in the business of being, you know, like paid experts. But, you know, maybe it's just a function of, you know,
1:04my advancing age here to where I'm like, all right, let's just keep it real. And and certainly, look, it's July 22nd, so
1:12there are a ton of things we're going to talk about today that we don't know, but maybe we do by August 22nd, and
1:18certainly we'll let all that kind of come to us. But I do think that there are a high number of situations and
1:27questions where we can analyze till the cows come home. We could pop out data points out the yin-yang. We still don't
1:35know. And I'd say a lot of the players that will or situations that we're going to talk about are probably ones that
1:43won't really, you know, play out in time for us to draft. So, a lot of the players and situations we're talking about once
1:52we get some information weeks one or two, these are probably your, you know, your first month of waiverwire transactions.
1:59>> Yeah, no question about it. And if you guys are getting that itch to draft, go over to fantasypoints.com, check out
2:05Guru's draft plan, John, the maybe the article you're best known for, and I know you put so much time and effort
2:11into it. It dropped live on Wednesday morning at fantasypoints.com.
2:15Uh so before we get into all this, just maybe a little plug for the article and uh you know what you're going to see on
2:21that when you walk through the many many thousands of words that you plugged into it.
2:25>> Yeah, like I keep saying, you know, last year's was good. You know, I had a couple massive failures. TJ Hawinson
2:33once again, I'll bring it up for the 40th time uh and apologize. That won't happen again, though. Uh that was a very
2:39unique situation with the Vikings.
2:41That's my favorite team. Mhm.
2:43>> I have used my hubris on the Vikings in the past to make great picks. You know, let's let's be honest, that's a pretty
2:51damn good team to draft fantasy players from. Did not work out last year. So, I I learned my lesson. Uh because that was
2:59something that I I had the Spidey sense tingling big time and it was exactly wrong. So, I really liked him for no
3:07reason because I mean, well, I say no reason, but I was too high on him. And the obvious the reason why is because
3:15the quarterback had no body work. So, I'm never going to make that mistake again.
3:18>> Uh, and I, you know, again, I'm just striving to be as accurate as I as humanly possible. So, I've really upped
3:28my criteria for the players that I'm backing. like you got to check a lot of boxes at this point for me to back you
3:35because again I hate being wrong. I'm addicted to being right. I'm doing every I'm scratching and clawing over here to be right, baby. That's it. So the draft
3:44plan is it's a two-part thing. It's about, you know, the the best, you know, route to take, you know, positional scarcity and, you know, when do you take
3:55a quarterback and all that, but it's also which players to take. And I will say this real quick, and I said this on
4:01SiriusXM on the Fantasy Points morning show this morning with Joe Dolan and Paul Kelly. I really think Yeah, that's right. Shite that nobody knows right
4:12now. We don't know shite uh on some of these situations, but I really do think this year, and I've been complaining
4:19about way too many skilled players involved uh for these teams in the NFL uh for a decade plus, but I really think
4:27this year, the way the ADP is lining up, I think we have the best chance that we've ever had to have a perfect draft.
4:36And that's what I'm always looking for.
4:39Value on every pick. get the, you know, get the value on every pick, get the right players, do the right thing in
4:45terms of roster construction to to literally draft a perfect team. Love it.
4:51And if you have to draft this weekend like I do, go over to fantasypoints.com, use our code fantasy, save yourself 10%
4:58off an annual subscription. You can print out the guru's rankings. That's what I do. And you can do the same.
5:04Guru's rankings, Chris Wex rankings, every kind of cheat sheet you're going to need for your fantasy draft. Guru's draft plan article. It's all there at
5:12fantasypoints.com.
5:14So, John, let's get into these 16 questions nobody can answer yet. And let's start at number one, and that's down in South Beach. No, we're not
5:24talking LeBron James if you've seen some of the news out about him. But we're talking about who Miamiy's top two fantasy receivers are going to be.
5:32Little news broke, John, the other day, which really shouldn't surprise anybody about Chris Bell. He was a third round wide receiver out of Louisville. He's
5:39coming off an ACL. He's going to start on the NFI list and who knows how long that actually lasts. But let's get into
5:46this depth chart here, Guru, because it is, as you like to coin, skanktastic, with Jaylen Tolbert, 22 Atwell, Malik Washington, who I think is on my Scott
5:57Fishbowl team, Chris Bell.
5:59>> He's awful, by the way. He sucks. No offense. I thought he was going to be like this lowercase Tyreek Hill when Tyreek went down last
6:07year and I scooped him up off the waiver wire and I'm like trying to trade him around my league. Nobody wanted his ass.
6:11>> Yeah. When you're a little tiny small dude, you should be able to run away from people. The dude averages like six
6:16yards a catch anyways.
6:18>> Yeah.
6:19>> So, what what do you make of this team?
6:21I mean, somebody has to emerge, you would think. I mean maybe it's just Devon Achan catching a 100 balls in this
6:28back field but or or do you feel with Tolbert Atwell Bell it's going to be a week- toeek proposition where maybe
6:36there's not an alpha but if you got to pin down somebody I mean we don't know anything but what do you lean towards?
6:43>> By the way I I I just had to check to confirm because that number seems so insane. Malik Washington 6.9 yards a
6:50catch. I mean that that is truly pathetic. Uh, anyways, I I know there's a lot going on that that can affect
6:57that, but yeah, it looks like um, you know, kind of an ugly committee where they're going to kind of be, you know,
7:04>> taking a look at different people throughout different portions of the season. I mean, number one, it's Greg Doulich or bust. Greg Dulich is I mean,
7:14we're going to overhype him, but I mean, it it's one of the greatest 14th round picks at tight end potentially uh, of all
7:22time. Well, I don't know about that.
7:24That's a little hyperbolic, but uh we've seen it in a little while, but it certainly looks like the veteran Jaylen Tolbert, the former Cowboy who I
7:32actually kind of liked um coming out of South Alabama. He was a Senior Bowl guy.
7:37That's where the Senior Bowl is played.
7:40I never thought he was a stud. He's had some moments. So, I I think he's going to be kind of an anchor guy to open up
7:47the season. You got 22 Outwell, the affformentioned Malik Washington. I mean, I we would love if if we had our brothers, we would love Kevin Coleman
7:56to, you know, win the slot job and then Caleb Douglas, who's got some size, unlike most of these other guys, you
8:04know, to to play the other receiver spot, which is currently probably a man by 22 Atwell. But I guess the answer is
8:10probably Jaylen Tolbert. Mhm.
8:12>> I don't even think he's worth drafting, but he he might be a guy in deeper leagues we're looking at on the
8:18waiverwire or if if you do go real deep and you're you're drafting 250 players, you know, certainly maybe take a shot.
8:25But yeah, I think at the end of the day, the only player I really am interested in, and I'm very interested, is Mr. Greg
8:31Doulich.
8:33I have the Kings Classic draft this weekend at the Fantasy Football Expo.
8:37That's a 14 team league where we start three receivers and three flexes. So, I'll report back on our next podcast.
8:45>> Which one of these and how many of these Miami Dolphins receivers get drafted because I'm sure a few are going to.
8:51>> It should be Tolbert and Dulich. Um, but again, I mean, that's just kind of a short, you know, frame snapshot there,
9:00like, you know, the first third of the season or something like that. I mean, if you want to draft, you know, Coleman
9:05or Douglas, but again, this is kind of why we're doing it. Like, no one knows crap. The only thing we know now is that
9:12when we observe what happened in the OTAAS and the like, the two top receivers for Malik Willis have been those two guys, Greg Doulich and Jaylen
9:22Tolbert. Jaylen Tolbert in 2024 as a member of the Dallas Cowboys did see 79 targets, had seven touchdowns. So, take that for what you will. Yeah, and as
9:32somebody mentioned in the chat, you know, this kind of does bode well uh for uh Devon Aan to potentially be their
9:39leading receiver.
9:41>> Yeah, and it all comes back to Malik Willis, who we know is going to tuck and run a ton. Who knows how good of a
9:46downfield passer he is. Very limited sample size last year. I know everyone's going nuts for, you know, like one prime time game he played in Green Bay. But
9:54let's move it on down to Jacksonville.
9:56We'll stay in the Sunshine State. And the thing that nobody knows, John, who the hell is Jacksonville's wide receiver one? And if you are a subscriber to
10:04fantasypoints.com or you listen to any of our podcast, you know there is a Parker Washington hype train choo choo being driven by one Scott Barrett.
10:14>> I'm I'm in. I'm in as well.
10:16>> We're in. You and I are sitting on the car. We're We're drinking some Peronis in the back and we're enjoying the view
10:20out the window of the hype train. So yeah, we've got I Jacobe Myers is a guy super deep league. I guess you could
10:27draft, but nobody's excited about him.
10:30>> Yeah, but I mean my point is this.
10:32Nobody's excited about him, but no one would would be surprised if Jacobe Myers is the pick.
10:37>> You know, it's that close. Like, I don't know if I've ever seen three receivers on the same team where they're they're
10:44that freaking close. But real quick, ju just to to give my spin on it, you know, and and we've got we're all over the
10:54data. It's I don't have it in front of me, but I mean the guy was outstanding outside, which is very notable. 14.6
11:02yards per reception.
11:05He was balling the f out. Now, a lot of people don't watch the preseason games.
11:11They really have been boring, more boring than usual. But see, I do uh when we're doing this for a living, you
11:17better watch the damn games. He was unbelievable in the preseason. And guess what? He totally cap. We just talked about it with Adam Shfterfer. I mean,
11:26he's he's with me on this as well. Like, hello. This guy may have been a top five receiver down the stretch just in terms
11:36of like balling out, passing the eyeball test and all that. He was He was tremendous. So, I'm I'm going to go with
11:42him. I I I don't know where the ADP I think he's in between. I mean, it's so fluid, too. That's the other thing. like
11:48their their freaking ADPs are all like within a round of each other.
11:54>> I think something that would be interesting to note is I believe Jacobe Myers got to Jacksonville in week eight.
12:01Uh I'm looking up his numbers here. You know, he left the Raiders. He played seven games there and then he comes over
12:07to to Jacksonville. If the numbers I'm looking at are correct, in his time from week eight on, he played in 10 games for
12:16the Jags. He ran 91% of the routes for the Jaguars by far the most on the team, you know, and his his target share it
12:24was 23%. So he was very very involved here. So if you want a guy who's maybe a little cheaper, nobody cares about
12:33Jacob's a good football player, John.
12:35>> Yeah. Yeah. Totally. Yeah. No, I mean, you know, and and look, Brian Thomas, there was this time last year, I was
12:40very high on Bri Brian Thomas. I think a lot of pretty sharp people were. Uh he absolutely fell off a cliff. By the way,
12:48um Kevin in the chat brings up a good point. Some pe some are saying that Parker Washington uh people are saying
12:58that Parker Washington uh who are these people? No. Um could be this year's Jackson Smith and Jigba, which which does bring up a very good point. And
13:07this is one of the most powerful examples of data being important fantasy points data. Ironically, Jacobe Meyers is involved in this. When Jacobe Meyers
13:18went over to the Raiders, there was a lot of skepticism because they had Hunter Renfro, Mr. Slot, hello, Hunter Renfro is not lining up outside. He had
13:27100 catches the year before. So, people like, I don't know about Jacobe Meyers.
13:31We like Jacobe Myers because the data showed that he was good on the outside, which of course held true. Very similar
13:39situation with Jackson Smith and Jigba last year. Of course, he's a higher pedigree guy, but when you see a guy like this who continues to ascend, you
13:47know, plays inside, but then they try him out outside and the data is still really good, that bodess extremely well.
13:56And by the way, when they are in two receiver sets, who's to say Parker Washington isn't locked into one of those spots because
14:04it was so damn good last year. If you look at the ADP, I'm pulling up just some kind of generic ADP across, you
14:12know, consensus, CBS, ESPN, Sleeper, all these fun places, you you're going to see Parker Washington is an early eighth round pick and just a few picks later,
14:22Jacobe Myers goes off the board. So maybe the answer is just say, I'll take the cheapest guy. I I I don't think I'm
14:28going to walk out of a lot of drafts with Brian Thomas Jr. this year.
14:32I mean, I could see an angle where you're going to buy, you know, buy the dip, you know, and it's a quite a dip.
14:39Really? I mean, it what is it like a seventh round dip?
14:43>> I drafted him at at like the 22 last year, John.
14:47>> I was very high on it. I mean, it's a nightmare. I'm I'm not putting him in as a target. I actually do like his u
14:56receiving total prop. You know, I do think he's going to bounce back in year number two. He's more comfortable in the
15:02system. They're more comfortable with him. You know, last year was kind, you know, was kind of a cluster F, but you
15:08know, that one there is for me as an analyst like that's the worst because in his rookie year, I was skeptical. I had
15:17gotten information that he would need a minute, if you will, to, you know, get up to speed. So I was like, I think
15:26people are going a little too crazy.
15:28Then the rookie year played out and he was unbelievable. Of course, a lot of that with M. Jones. So I'm like, wow.
15:33Okay, I was wrong. Let me adjust. And then I was wrong again. So I I don't want to be wrong on Brian Thomas Jr.
15:39again. So I'm not going to be honestly I'm not going to be really high or low, but I am leaning positive. But again, if
15:46I had to pick between the three, even at their ADP, I am definitely going Parker Washington because the last time we saw
15:53Parker Washington, again, he was balling the f out. And the last time we saw Brian Thomas Jr., he was sucking basically. Uh, I did a little thread
16:03about Brian Thomas Jr. and his rookie season with Trevor Lawrence and again with M. Jones or he had three games over
16:10a 100red yards with M. Jones, only one with Trevor Lawrence. Five games with over seven receptions with Jones, zero with Trevor Lawrence at six games with
16:1910 or more targets with M. Jones, zero with Trevor Lawrence. Again, now new play caller, >> maybe a little more chemistry and all
16:26that, but >> I think his role is going to change a little bit. I think they're going to like kind of look for him as their
16:30downfield guy.
16:31>> So, he might make some big plays, but I don't know about volume catching, you know, a lot of balls.
16:38Is Jordan Tyson John ready to contribute immediately for the New Orleans Saints and Kell Moore? And I didn't have to look up Kell Moore's name. You know how
16:47I have that brain freeze with him. Now, he is a uber talented wide receiver and they need one uh alongside Chris Ave. We
16:55don't necessarily know if he's going to step into this day one, and that's the whole point of this exercise. So, I
17:02mean, Rasheed Shahed was a guy in that role who, you know, he's just running a lot of cardio, ton of deep routes, maybe
17:07a better and best ball type guy. Is Jordan Tyson going to kind of fall into that same mold or can he work carve out
17:14a role that you can be confident in every single week in fantasy football?
17:19I'm going to say deeper league if he's maybe your wide receiver, three or flex.
17:23>> You know, I really hate to say this because I I'm my whole career I've been about young ascending players. And by
17:30the way, for those who've never heard the story, why am I like this? Well, way back, I mean way back, my
17:39first fantasy league, I was given notice by my Babe Ruth baseball coach, who by the way, I played for the guy in B like
17:49only like three, four years earlier. I was a child, you know, in 1987. Back in 1987. Anyway, um I get called to do this
18:01draft. I got one hour notice. I grab a football magazine >> like me doing this show today, >> right? [laughter] I I I grab a football
18:07magazine, leaf it over, but I'm just going off the top of my head and I guess I had a late first round pick and I was
18:14a an idiot for fantasy because I'd never done it before. I'd never heard of it an hour before the draft. Who did I take?
18:22Walter Peyton. Now, he had like 380 touches the year before. Unfortunately, he fell off a cliff. So, what did I do?
18:31I did an overcorrection.
18:33Uh, fast forward a couple years later, two years later, I took Barry Sanders at 10 overall. So, that's kind of the the
18:40genesis of my being an agist and being all about, you know, young breakout players. I hate to say it with all that
18:48set up. Let's let's think about where we are in the NFL with these young rookie receivers. I've looked uh I look back at
18:58the last three years and now Rishi Rice is in this mix. He obviously delivered the goods, but he's been kind of all
19:06over the plaque, but all over the place.
19:07But Puka JSN, by the way, he wasn't even that great his rookie year, >> right? He was buried behind uh DK and
19:17>> Locket. Z Flowers, he was good. Um, Ibuka was pretty good, but wasn't amazing down the stretch. And then Tet McMahon, other
19:29than that, like these rookies have not done much. And some of it is poor. You know, they're not great draft classes,
19:37but I don't know. I I just kind of think like I'm almost like, are we back to maybe the thirdyear breakout receiver?
19:44cuz that was JSN and you could argue that was Z Flowers. So, I'm glad that the Saints added Jordan Tyson. I like
19:54it. You know, I like it for Tyler Shuck.
19:56I like Kell Moore. I think the offense is going to be pretty good. Again, I'm glad they have Jordan Tyson, but am I
20:03drafting Jordan Tyson? No.
20:06um he's still a little too flashy and not precise, you know, not not considered a great route runner coming out of college. And of course, the
20:17injuries are a factor. So, I'm not I'm not taking them. So, um I would say, yeah, we don't know crap, but if I had
20:24to guess, is Jordan Tyson ready to contribute right away?
20:28I'm going to lean no. But again, this is what I'm saying. Like, we just don't know. like when the pads come on, maybe
20:33he starts balling out and and maybe we will be into him. But as it stands right now, without having access to really any
20:40information, I'm going to go no.
20:42>> Jordan Tyson's ADP is 77 overall.
20:46>> That's too rich. Mid7th round pick.
20:49John, I'm looking at our projections at fantasypoints.com on him. We've got him as wide receiver 37. We've got him, this is again, total
20:58fantasy points, >> right? ahead of Alec Pierce, ahead of Jordan Addison, Josh DS, Wandelle, Godwin, Marvin Harrison Jr., Wow. We've
21:08got him ahead of some I don't know if I I'd draft Jordan Tyson ahead of Alec Pierce.
21:14>> The wide receiver rankings this year, I I just feel like when we look back, they're going to look bad because
21:20there's just so many dudes who are very capable, but >> things need to line up for them, you know, to click and all that. And we just
21:29don't know not don't know that right now. We may not know it until the season starts.
21:33>> Shout out to the chat. I miss having a live chat in all our shows. Uh the guy who thinks uh I look like Matt Ryan.
21:39Also a good Joe Flacco. Uh either way, I I'll take either one of their bank accounts at this point. All right, John.
21:45Who's going to lead the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in targets here? We're going to get a healthy Baker Mayfield, and that's huge because last year we didn't
21:54have that. Gone is Mike Evans. We're gonna get back a we hope healthy Chris Godwin. And then we've got all these
22:01young Bucks. Amecha Ibuka who came out like a house of fire and then died a slow death. Jaylen McMillan who's been
22:07kicking around. Ted Hurst, Ted Johnson, the ghost of Cameron Johnson. So, a lot of names here uh to cycle through. And
22:14who is going to lead the team in targets? Again, at the end of the day, we don't know.
22:18>> Yeah. I mean, Ted Hurst is a very intriguing prospect out of Georgia State. He is uh, you know, a bigger
22:24exceiver on the outside. Tess Johnson was a nice little gadgety, you know, third receiver last year, but to me, this is a little bit of a tough call
22:34because of the top three guys. You know, as you mentioned, Ibuka was great. You know, do I have him ranked the highest?
22:40Yes. Is he a target of mine? No. Because he did fall off last year. And who's to say that Chris Godwin, he's only 30, you
22:51know, he's balled out in the past. Who's to say Chris Godwin doesn't get 120 targets and has a really good year or
23:01Jaylen McMillan? You know, I really like Jaylen McMillan. I don't think he's perfect prospect, but I like the inside outside versatility. He seemed to click
23:11pretty well with Baker Mayfield. Um, so I I think it's a little closer to call than than the markets do. So, at the the
23:21very least, I love Jaylen McMillan as a lay pick. I mean, he he really really stands out to me as a guy. Like, you get
23:28him in the 14th round. Like, he could I mean, the dude scored eight touchdowns his rookie year on like 47 targets for
23:35God's sakes. I mean, I know that's a little anecdotal and fluky, but, you know, again, inside outside V versatility, he's good. Uh, it's another
23:44guy that I I I I enjoyed uh chopping it up with. I remember making him laugh a little bit. So, he's a he's a pretty
23:50cool dude. I I So, I like that. That's just another box to check. Uh for Jaylen McMillan, you could win a bar bet. I
23:58guarantee if you're out today and you're hanging out with your boys, ask them who was second on the Bucks in targets last
24:06year with 80 targets. John, you know, off the top of your head, >> well, not Brahton.
24:11>> Kateton.
24:12>> Yeah, I had a flashback there. Cameron Bra. My god, the slow ass white guy.
24:17They're all the same. This team was so beat up with injuries that, you know, obviously a Mecha Ibuka had a really
24:25nice, you know, first season, led the team in targets, had seven and a half targets a game, but after that, you got
24:29Kate Atten, Mike Evans, who only played eight games, 59 targets. Chris Godwin had 48. I mean, Sterling Shepard was fourth on this team in targets last
24:38year. So, oh my god, >> when you talk about we don't know how this is going to play out due to
24:43injuries and and you know some new faces, it's we really don't know how it's going to play out. So, it's either
24:49allowed >> I I love where you're going with Chris Godwin here. I like his price and we know that Baker loves him. Love him.
24:58>> I mean, why wouldn't you? I mean, a consmate professional, you know, probably want him inside, but he can line up outside. You know, I always love
25:05Chris Godwin. And I remember he was my breakout player in 2019 and I called him God Chriswin and he was quite godlike
25:12that year. 30 years old. Some injuries have racked up here. But again, that's that's why I'm actually homing in on Jaylen McMillan. I I think he's again
25:20tremendous 13th round pick. You want to talk about potential ROI, baby. Let's go. I want to ask you a question from
25:28the chat because I think this is really sharp. Our guy Sabre asks, "If you flip Ibuka's season, and his first four weeks
25:36were actually the last four weeks of the season, where would we be drafting Amecha Igbuka?" And you know, just for that, I want to see if I can find him
25:45here.
25:45>> Third round.
25:46>> Yeah. I mean, he would I Here we go.
25:48Let's pull up his stats. So, the first three weeks of the year, he went for 23, 13, 14, 20, and then week five, he
25:57actually had 31. He did nothing. down the stretch. He only had one week from week 11 on over 10 points. So, he really
26:06died a slow death. But yeah, you're you're right, John. It'd be uh I bet he'd be a second or third round pick
26:11with those numbers, >> man. Maybe even a second because it it looks like now what what is he now?
26:16Fourth. Fourth or fifth?
26:18>> Let's Where is Amecha Ibuka going?
26:2340. Yeah, he's a fourth round pick. He's wide receiver 19. He's going ahead of Burden, ahead of Manki, ahead of Wadd
26:31>> probably be late second round pick.
26:34>> That's the sweet spot of wide receiver right there from you get to the fourth round and you can start drafting guys
26:40like T. Higgins, Z Flowers, Ibuka, Manki, all the way down through the fifth, DJ Moore, who I love, Christian Watson, early six. So many of them.
26:50That's why they're down the board between that and everyone drafting running backs like it's 1999.
26:59>> H I wish it was 1999 again. Sophomore year college. [laughter] >> Hey John, a guy who just came out of
27:06college, Carell Tate. Can he thrive as a true wide receiver one right away? cuz we really didn't even see him do that at
27:12Ohio State and now we're expecting him to kind of step into this role in Tennessee and just become the man. I
27:19don't necessarily know if he can do it.
27:20I'm not saying he can't. He's obviously a very very talented wide receiver, but you're still, you know, rolling up against guys like Kelvin Ridley who's a
27:28professional, Juan Dell, who they paid a ton of money to. And then, you know, even down the board, Eliam Maner out of
27:33Stanford who was solid last year. Our guy Chamir kicked me in the DK. Uh, so they got guys Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I I I do think that
27:43as we, you know, embark on his first training camp heading into it, the vibes are good. You know, he's he's been as
27:50advertised in the OTAAS and all that.
27:55Um, still learning, but he's shown some football intelligence. I looked at dayball uh talking about him. So, he's
28:04done everything asked of him, everything required, but it's still uh July 22nd.
28:11Um I I do think he will be their number one receiver, and I do think he'll he'll have success, but you know, am I going to draft him?
28:21Probably not. I again, I mean, I used to always feel like you got a an advantage drafting rookies. I I almost think it's
28:28the opposite now. I almost think most of the rookies are a little overhyped.
28:32Like, you know, is day ball an upgrade?
28:35Yes. Is dayball all that? No, he's not.
28:38Or else he wouldn't have had like seven jobs in the last 11 years. So, I think they're going to be okay, but I don't
28:45think they're going to be great. And I think Tate is probably going to, unless he gets the touchdowns, which he is a
28:51sizable receiver, it's very possible.
28:53Uh, I think he's gonna be, you know, just just a guy, you know, like probably not a bad pick, but is it gonna be a
28:59good pick? I I don't see it.
29:01>> You need the big time touchdown upside because you're going to have obviously Jell underneath scooping up a bunch of targets. And
29:09>> don't draft Wandell, by the way. I mean, please. I mean, no, no, that's not >> How about your guy Calvin Ridley? You've
29:14always been a Ridley apologist. Again, DraftKings promo code Ridley.
29:17>> I kind of do think there's a chance. I mean, I was told by someone who was in training camp last year that he was
29:24still smoking people uh on the practice field, and I'm like, "All right, that's really all I need to hear." Um, obviously it went horribly wrong, but
29:33he's a completely free pick now. You've got a better offense because they were a joke last year.
29:41>> You've got another year in for Cam Ward and you have Calvin Ridley actually properly cast as a number two. So, I I
29:50think he'll kind of be like their shot play guy, so it'll be volatile, but he might, you know, he might be like a an
29:56older Deshawn Jackson, you know, where he makes some big plays. We're talking things nobody knows right here. It is uh Fantasy Points Daily. Little uh
30:08sidetrack into the Fantasy Points podcast. Brian Drake filling in for Grant Barfield today. Give us a follow on the old Twitter machine. I'm at Drake
30:15Fantasy. John is of course at fantasy_guru.
30:19Let's go over to the New York Football Jets and Fireman Ed has a question. He wants to know, "Will any Jets wide
30:25receiver behind Garrett Wilson be fantasy relevant?" So, we're talking Adnai Mitchell, the rookie out of Indiana, Omar Cooper, who I really loved
30:34watching uh watching him play in the playoff. Tim Patrick's on this roster. I surprised by that. And Aryan Smith, I I
30:43believe the Eagles drafted him a few years back. So, there's a lot of talent on this roster when you look at the
30:48running backs and you look at the, you know, group of tight ends that they have. But how many of these wide
30:53receivers can actually be relevant?
30:56>> You know, three is a including Wilson.
30:59If if we're going to go three, that's that's a bit much. I mean, AD Mitchell, Adnai Mitchell did >> did show some game last year in a in a
31:09bad situation there with the Jets, >> but I I think, you know, I'm not really contradicting myself, but in terms of
31:17Omar Cooper, I'm like ragging on the rookies and all that.
31:20>> I I think the answer is Omar Cooper. You know, I think he is uh pretty polished player, pretty savvy. I watched a lot of
31:28Indiana as well. They had a lot of receivers. Uh, I love Charlie Becker, by the way. My favorite was Charlie Becker
31:33for like that's immediately the guy I looked at like, "Oh my god, I love this guy." Anyway, but you know, Omar Cooper
31:38is smooth route runner, you know, he's pretty decent after the catch. They could use that, you know, so I think he's probably
31:47the answer. He's been their off season star, but they also have two tight ends.
31:54So, am I drafting Omar Cooper? No. But he might be, you know, one of the first guys I'm looking at on the waiverwire
32:00because there is something there. No question. I think he's a professional receiver.
32:06Of course, question is, will the Jets have a professional offense? Uh, better chance this year with Gino and Frank Reich than last year at least.
32:14>> That's really the question is, you know, we always rag on Skank Reich, but can Gino Smith support multiple fantasy options? And we kind of fall into this
32:23trap every year, and it's happened with the Jets before, where you draft multiple players off bad offenses, and then you wonder why your fantasy team
32:32doesn't make the play.
32:43>> I think Brian's glitching, John.
32:45>> Oh, yeah. Brian Brian's glitching. Uh, that's what our guy Trey tells me. Uh, so that's not good. But that's all good.
32:52We can continue going. As long as it's not me, Trey. Uh because I'm I'm hardwired here now. So I I think I'm
33:00pretty good. Well, let's move on to the next thing that we don't know shite about. Well, maybe we do know a little
33:07bit, but uh we'll we'll try and figure it out. Um, no one knows how the Cardinals backfield will shake out and
33:17we we don't although I will say to me when I look at this depth chart in Arizona, uh, do I want U Jeremiah Love?
33:27No. Um, I I do not. Uh, but we we got to get rid of somebody here. So, the backfield is a little confusing right
33:37now because they paid Tyler Algier, drafted Cedric Benson, what was that?
33:43Was that a second round pick, third round pick a couple of years ago? And of course, James Connor is there. So, this
33:49is um a great unknown, but I would have to say that at the very least, we are getting rid of one of those guys. So, if
34:00I'm drafting in a very competitive league, I got to say I I kind of think James Connor uh might be interesting. Uh
34:08because I I could see him going to a team like first team that suffers an injury, something like that. Um you
34:14know, James Connor, I don't know what he has in his body at 31 years old, but obviously the guy when he's been on the
34:22field in the National Football League has been pretty damn uh productive. So, we'll see about that. But right now, like we we have no idea how it's going
34:31to play out. I mean, Jeremiah Love can't get every damn touch in the back field.
34:34They're going to have to work in somebody else. Obviously, that should be Alir who uh you know, mesh well with Bejon. So, again, that leaves, you know,
34:43they also have freaking um Bam Knight, the Dark Knight. He's here as well. So, there's there's a little bit of a a
34:51quagmire there in a back field where I don't think we're going to be good anyway uh in in Arizona. So yeah, no
34:58reason. Yeah, they are a terrible organization, Jane. They're pathetic. Uh let's move on to another thing we don't know crap about. And we don't know who
35:08the Falcons number two or number three receivers will be. We certainly know that the passing offense is going to go through Drake London and Kyle Pittz, but
35:19it's 2026 here. We need we need more than two guys, you know. So, we we we're going to have to get some contributions
35:26from someone else. It's between the obvious guys. Jan Dodson, Olia Zakias, and of course, the rookie Zachariah
35:35Branch. Dodson should be the answer. You know, former number one pick out of Penn State projects pretty well opposite Drake London, but he hasn't done he's
35:45done diddly poo. I one of the biggest drop offs I've seen from a guy like even year one in DC he was pretty good and
35:53then he completely absolutely fell off a cliff. So we don't know but if I had to guess I'm I'm going to lean with
36:03Zachariah Branch. You know he is he's got just if you squint there there's a little bit of Debo in there. I know he's
36:11not a big guy but he's a guy that they can get in space. you know, screens, dump offs, you know, you know, like uh
36:21highly um schemed up kind of, you know, manufactured touches basically. So, I think that's that's where we're at and we'll have to see it play out in
36:32training camp, but but no one really knows right now. And that's probably one of the situations where most people in drafts just forget it. Just just let it
36:44go. But be cognizant of there's probably some sort of opportunity here for a third receiver. We're presuming that the quarterback play is decent under Kevin
36:53Stfansky. But Zachariah Branch, that's that is a case where I would lean toward the rookie. But again, this is, you know, these are 13th 14th round picks
37:03rolling on here in the fantasy points pile. Let me take a drink here. I'm talking way too much.
37:11Ah, thank you. This uh episode's brought to you by coffee. Um, next up here in Baltimore, one of the more fascinating
37:21teams, and the thing that we don't know about is who the hell is going to be the second best receiver for the Ravens,
37:30wide receiver, because I I think Mark Andrews is pretty locked in here. Uh, Rashad Baitman would be the boring and the safe answer. He is a former number
37:41one pick. However, we do have three young guys who are in the mix and have showed at least a couple of them have
37:50shown pretty well. Devontez Walker uh out of North Carolina big dude. Well, actually, you know, boy, he's only 6'1.
37:58I thought he was a little bigger than that cuz I saw him practice for a week in the senior bowl in Mobile. He was
38:03very good, but he kept dropping balls.
38:05Uh so that is the problem. I I think between Jacobe Lane out of USC, sizable guy, 6'4, clearly looking to get some
38:14size here. I think Elijah Serat is the interesting one, you know, inside guy. I think he's projecting as potentially a
38:23high volume guy. He was also good uh at Indiana. I guess if Fernando Mendoza doesn't get it done in the NFL, we'll
38:31have to look back and say, well, they surrounded him with a lot of talent and they made Fernando Mendoza. I'm not
38:38there yet, but I I do think Elijah Serat is an interesting guy. Probably another situation where, you know, just let it
38:46play out. Draft Z Flowers in round four.
38:49I'm no problem with that. I'm all about that quite frankly. I also like Mark Andrews, but are we drafting anyone else
38:55here of note? Uh, no, not really. I mean, maybe maybe Baitman has a really good training camp and he's clearly the
39:04second receiver. Uh, which he probably will be. Uh, but, you know, these young guys between the three I just mentioned, they probably do have a chance to carve
39:13out a role over Rashad Baitman, who they might be kind of, you know, growing weary on and all that. Next up here,
39:21this is not a a a very important one here, but I just thought it was, you know, I go through every team and I look
39:26for these type of things, for these topics, and I'm looking at the Bengals.
39:30We all know it's it's a boring receiver.
39:32It's a weird receiving court. It's a little topheavy here, obviously, with Jamar Chase and T. Higgins, which you like. Uh we do have Yosvich. I know they
39:41like him. I think Joe Burrow likes him, but for whatever reason, he doesn't really get a lot of volume. But I mean,
39:48they've got a a stable of run of tight ends here. Drew Sample is your boring blocking guy. Gasi is your basically
39:56your glorified slot receiver. That would be the answer. But, you know, they've got the kid Eric All. They drafted Jack Andre. You know, Tanner Hudson has had
40:06some moments here. Again, this is this is very much on the low end, but no one's drafting a Bengal tight end, and I
40:12don't think anyone should uh draft a Bengals tight end. Another thing that we don't really know crap about heading into training camp, I don't know if we
40:23if we will, uh, but it's in Cleveland.
40:26And how long will these two young rookie wide receivers take and, uh, I know our guy Brett Whitefield was very high on KC
40:36Conpsion. I get it. A lot of juice there. Hands are a little suspect, so that's something to keep an eye on.
40:43Denzel Boston. I was surprised he slipped in the draft. I like him a lot as a long-term prospect, but don't hate
40:51me for this, but I think the answer might be Jerry Judy. I actually did add Jerry Judy to my player target. I mean,
40:58you can get this guy at like 180 overall and and we watched I know it's a different coaching staff last year, but you watch him last year like
41:08he was the number one receiver obviously. It was very clear and you know he had some moments with Shadore and he will I think open the season as
41:17their number one receiver. He's still only 27 years old. Uh he's kind of driven us a little crazy here. Um, yeah,
41:23I hear you, Jordan. But again, we're talking we're talking 13th 14th round here for a pretty good pro in Jerry Judy
41:32who should have a very long role. But that's that's a question. You know what I mean? Like if we base things off of
41:39recent history, these rookies probably a little slow off the mark. Maybe it's a thing where, you know, [snorts] one of them,
41:48you know, starts popping late in the season. Yeah. I mean, I understand the criticism of Jerry Judy. I'm certainly not pounding the table for Jerry Judy,
41:57but you know, I I do think he might be a little sneaky as your sixth receiver, something like that. You may find that,
42:06you know what, he's a little bit more uh reliable than I thought he would be.
42:11Another question here in terms of heading into training camp. We don't know crap about well how much has RJ
42:22Harvey improved? I mean that that is a very big question. Now I was thinking about this. Am I high on R.J. Harvey?
42:30No. No. He's not on my list based on last year's showing and of course based on the drafting of Jonah Coleman. I do
42:38think that RJ Harvey will be the number two running back alongside JK Dobbins to open the season, but they did have some
42:48issues with RJ Harvey in pass protection last year. I don't think Shawn Payeyton totally trusted him. So, has has he gained trust? We don't know
42:58that yet because last year Tyler Batty or Bedet, my bad, Tyler Bedet, uh Tom Bradley's favorite player. Um he was out
43:07there on third down quite a bit because Shawn Payeyton trusted him. They still also have Jal McLaclin and of course Dobbins. Yes, they do have Dobbins.
43:16Dobbins is a starter. Dobbins is pretty good in pass protection as well. So, you know, I was thinking about maybe going
43:23contrarian because it seems like everybody's off on, you know, off of RJ Harvey. Well, maybe not. His ADP is still somewhat high. But I think the
43:33only time the only reason I would want to draft RJ Harvey would be to be contrarian because logic tells us based
43:40on what we saw from him last year and the addition of Jonah Coleman that, you know, he's not going to be the lead
43:46back, might not even be the goal line back. And it's not even a guarantee that he's the third down back. You know, like
43:53you would think he'll have the edge for, you know, some of these roles here, but has he improved? You know, he's talking
44:00a good game here in the offseason, by the I know has been studying uh Christian McCaffrey. It is an important year. I have seen guys I remember,
44:08believe it or not, Ray Rice was a player at running back where I was very disappointed in his rookie year. I don't
44:15know what was going on. Year two came along. I was like, "Wow, he really he's really a lot better." Uh so maybe R.J.
44:21Harvey does that, but right now we don't know crap about whether or not RJ Harvey is ready to take his game to the next
44:29level. Another thing we don't know about, and I just threw this out there just to maybe give some people a heads
44:36up, like, will Detroit's offensive line even be league average this year?
44:43Because long gone are the days when the dude Damp Campbell came and and built this team up. We had Frank the Tank at
44:53center. We had Taylor Decker, obviously.
44:56We had Pane Su at right tackle and we had some other good guys there at guard, you know, like a maybe like a Graham
45:04Glass now or something like that. But now we have Pane Su over at left tackle.
45:08And you know, the these are not big names at all. And uh I'd be lying if I said I really knew exactly how Christian
45:19Mahogany, Cade Mazize, Tate Rutled, and Blake Miller are going to be good. So, I I will say I had a bad vibe on the Lions
45:30last year. I I thought for a while there cuz they they were a little up and down.
45:35They started going up, you know, around October and I remember saying, "Wow, I guess I was wrong about the vibes for
45:41the Lions." The only finish they finished below the Vikings. So, if they do underwhelm this year, god forbid, I mean, hate to say it, but Jamir Gibbs,
45:52not that I'm going to be worried about Jir Gibbs, but if they do underwhelm Brian, welcome back, >> uh, in Detroit. I mean, we feeling good
46:02about this offensive line. I mean, P Su, I'm sure, will be fine at left tackle, but I don't know much about these other
46:09players here. So, that's just one other thing that we don't know about. Will the Detroit Lions have a serviceable offensive line or is it
46:19going to actually go to the dark side and end up being a weakness?
46:23>> Yeah, and thanks for holding down the fourth there. All of a sudden, the internet gods hated me. Apparently, they're Jets fans and don't like me
46:30talking smack about them. You're right about this line, though. You know, they do have Blake Miller who's a first round pick, but you're, you know, you're
46:36rolling out a guy from Carolina to be your center in Cade Mazize. You got a sixrounder and Christian Mahogany at left guard. So, as much as everyone's
46:46excited about drafting Jir Gibbs, one overall, the we've seen offensive lines, hint hint, Saquon Barkley last year, uh,
46:54do in high-end fantasy, >> are there, guru?
47:01>> No, your internet crapped out just again. Yeah. Yeah. No doubt about it. I mean, the offensive line is extremely important, and for years, we've been
47:10under the assumption correctly that it's not a problem in Detroit. They have a top 10 offensive line. And I know they
47:16still have the two number one picks up there, but one of them being a rookie, one the other one being a right tackle
47:22going over to the left side. So, you know, we could be wrong. This is why I'm bringing it up. We don't know. Just just
47:29know that we don't know. at the very least in your mind, you know, when you're drafting these Lions is maybe this is one of the reasons why for the
47:36first time I'm not in on Jameson Williams. Now, I do like him on RAW because he's just really stands out as a
47:44massive target monger, but I'm kind of not in on J Mo this year. And even though I've been in on him the last two
47:52years, I would say with relative success.
47:55>> Did you really rip through all those topics without me here? Damn, how long was I gone?
48:00>> Well, I hit um [laughter] I think I hit the Falcons.
48:04Um I hit on the the Ravens wide outs.
48:08The Bengals tight end one was a almost a throwaway one. We talked RJ Harvey. We talked the Browns wide receivers, but we
48:16still have some more on my list here. I don't know if Trey did the graphics, but we do have some more things that we
48:20don't know crap about.
48:22>> Like especially in Green Bay. And I know that I've drafted my fair share of Marshon Lloyd over the years and right,
48:28>> you know, there was always kind of that moniker. I know Graham Barfield, who usually hosts this show, had a great
48:33nugget about like number two backs in offenses, uh, you know, run by Matt Laflur. So, is anybody going to be beneficial to us
48:45for fantasy behind Josh Jacobs? I don't necessarily know. It doesn't seem like they want to share the football a ton with Chris Brooks or Marshon Lloyd. But
48:53is that just a case of maybe neither guy has been all that that good where they want to give them the ball, but we saw
49:00Jacobs definitely slow down, John? I don't want to say break down, but he slowed down at the end of last year. He
49:06was pretty touchdown dependent. Didn't have a game over 100 yards. So, are any of these guys between Lloyd and Brooks going to be viable? I don't know. But I
49:13I guarantee to you if Josh Jacobs went down, you'll spend every last dollar of your fab on either one of these guys.
49:19>> Yeah. I mean, this is clearly one unless they pull off some sort of trade. I mean, you know, James Connor or
49:25something like that. I I could see that, but this is a weak running back room.
49:29They actually have Damen Martinez here.
49:32I I'd like Damen Martinez. I thought he was a pretty good prospect. big guy out of the U, but you know, he didn't make
49:40it in Seattle and they didn't have the greatest running back room, so that's not a great sign. Pierre Strong is pretty weak. Um, Marshon Lloyd, though,
49:50was a Senior Bowl guy. We did kind of like him. Good receiver. He's got a good jump cut, some good lateral agility and
49:57all that. Um, he would be the guy I would look at, I think, if he's healthy and the vibes are good and he's in line.
50:06We don't know that. So, I mean, this is way up in the air here. But, I mean, the default guy has to be Chris I mean, if
50:13you really truly want to draft the handcuff right now, I guess I got to go Chris Brooks.
50:18>> Well, it's one we definitely have to watch in camp because if you draft Josh Jacobson, I don't think he's going to
50:23have legal issues, but if he goes down, >> by the way, here's another one.
50:27Will Matthew Golden's game be expanded this year? Like, nobody knows that one, right? I mean, because he was kind of gadgety type of guy, you know, he moves
50:37well. You like the pedigree. Will he will he elevate? I guess, you know, barring the Christian Watson injury, if we're not right about Watson this
50:49year, I would say it would be because Matthew Golden, you know, had a bigger ascension than anyone expected. But again, >> don't know. Yeah.
50:58>> I mean, certainly not expecting it.
51:00Well, it's just what we've been talking about. Maybe it's a thirdyear breakout.
51:05Now, this is his second year, but maybe these guys need a little time to acclimate, and he was a first round
51:10pick. They liked him for a reason. So, I can see that. All right, John. Who is a better pick? Tank Dell, who seemingly
51:19wakes up injured, or Jaylen Noel?
51:21>> I'm digging deep here, by the way. This is deep. But >> you know what, though? I like it because I actually drafted Tank Dell in a a mock
51:29draft for a magazine and it's not crazy because when Tank Dell plays, Tank Dell produces and I I could see him
51:37absolutely being involved in this offense over, you know, the secondyear guy Noel. And we got the two twin towers on the outside and you need somebody in
51:46the middle of the field that can get the ball. They can get the ball too quickly.
51:50I like Tanked out. I think if he's healthy and you can get him for nothing in your drafts, I kind of like that. And
51:55I I think he would play over Noel and kind of push him down the board a little bit.
51:59>> First of all, they're similar players.
52:02They're they're both really great dudes.
52:05I was fortunate enough to interview or interact with both of them. Uh but that's kind of the problem. I mean, it's
52:11a good problem for Houston and it bodess well for CJ Strad. You know, I I thought Jaden Higgins was great. like I thought
52:20he was very good last year all things considered. However, I'm ju I'm not into him yet >> uh as a as a fantasy pick even though
52:28he's certainly not, >> you know, that expensive and this is, you know, part of the reason why.
52:34Obviously, I think Nico is still going to be their their one. Um Xavier Hutchinson, they keep rotating them in uh into the into the mix here, but I
52:45mean Tank Dell and Jaylen Nel, I mean, they Who knows? I I I love Jaylen Null. Um I like Nell more than Dell as a prospect,
52:56but Dell rolled out a bet as a rookie and contributed uh pretty majorly here for Houston. So like, who knows? Um does
53:06bode well for CJ Strad. How about if you know Higgins ascends, continues to elevate, Dell's healthy, and Noel, I mean, you got to get Noel some snaps
53:17here. I mean, this guy, this guy is a baller. I mean, he plays with a lot of urgency, uh, a lot of quickness, a lot
53:24of juice. I mean, what if everything kind of lines up and all of a sudden even the offensive line is solid and
53:31Strad has a good year. That would bode well for Dave Montgomery. And I know we're all in on Dave Montgomery.
53:39I'm just reading some nuggets here uh from our guy uh Zayn. Um I'm going to butcher his last name. Um Dani uh I know
53:47he just did a show on this very program.
53:50Uh but Zayn does an incredible job uh on Twitter. Uh give him a follow. And he talks about how Jaden Higgins, you know,
53:58he's got versatility in the slot and all this, but they're also talking in Houston about Jaylen Nowell not only as a slot player.
54:05>> Yeah. Yeah. So, you know, if they can move him around a little bit and if Tank Dell's on a pitch count, we'll see. But,
54:11uh, yeah, we don't know anything about that, but I I like taking shots on Tank Dell late in drafts. All right. Uh, last
54:16one here. Guru, how is the Jacksonville backfield going to be divided? I'm so glad I got back for this one because we
54:24know about Chris Rodriguez coming over and we've talked at Nauseium about his relationship with Liam Cohen back to their Kentucky days in college and
54:32everyone's on the basial tootin train and for good reason. But then don't forget about the little engine that could Laquent Allen who last year was
54:40really only in there to block. But I will fight to the death to tell people if Beijel Tutin goes down, Laquent Allen
54:48is going to win people leagues. I watched this kid played three years for Syracuse. He had like I I got to pull up
54:55the numbers that he had his senior year.
54:56He was like the fourth leading receiver in the ACC as a running back. He can catch the ball so well and he's a good
55:02runner. So, the guy just needs a little time and some opportunity. But what do we make of this backfield, John? Again,
55:10nobody knows anything. I think we really are headed to just a really, really ugly mess. I don't think any of these guys
55:16going to take the backfield and run with it. I do think that there is a chance that Bashel Tudin, you just grabs full
55:23control of everything and and kind of dominates. I know he's not the highest pedigree guy, but I mean the guy ran
55:30like a 43 something 40, so he's pretty explosive. I know that Liam Cohen, you know, they kind of
55:38slowly fed him, you know, reps and snaps and all that. They didn't totally rely on him. They kind of integrated them,
55:46worked them in here and there. Uh, I'm sure there were some concerns about pass protection as well, but yeah, the real
55:53question is how much of a factor is Chris Rodriguez?
55:58I mean, does it evolve into a three-headed monster, which is also well within the realm of possible outcomes?
56:07As you mentioned, Laquin Allen, a very good receiver. You know, there is a world, I think, where Bashel Tudin is a
56:13empty calorie guy. You know, it's kind of like um Bucky Irving. I think there is a potential environment where he's just a between the 20s guy and then in
56:23tight [clears throat] it's Chris Rodriguez and in clear passing situations and hurry up situations it's Laquin Allen. But it's all I mean it's
56:31all a projection. It really is. That's why we're talking about it. Like no one freaking knows. I do think there is a
56:37possibility that it is a three-head monster, but I also think there's a possibility that Toutin, you know, gets 295 touches and clearly rises to the top
56:46of the depth chart. I have not listed Tutin, I will say, as a target because he is he is a he is pricey. I could
56:53totally see it working out, >> but I could just as easily see it be a little underwhelming. Maybe what is he a
57:01fifth rounder? I mean, that's not bad, but I don't know if it's good.
57:05Yeah, it's tough at that at that spot in a draft to project on someone. And that's what we do in fantasy football.
57:11We kind of, you know, we look at players, we project what are they going to become and and that's a little bit of
57:16how you can win, but it's also how you can put yourself pretty far behind if he doesn't hit and he's not that guy. You
57:23just wasted a fifth round pick on a a back and a, you know, a complimentary back in a system with three guys. So, I
57:30don't know. I I'm curious. I I He's another guy I'll report back to you after this weekend. I'm curious how these experts and uh big drafts pay up
57:37for for Bashel Tutin because everybody wants to look like the smartest guy in the room and to me that's what that
57:41looks like what Bashel Tutin is. Every I drafted a guy last year on teams and everyone wants to be I drafted Bashel
57:48Tutin at his breakout but it's like >> at what point is it going to be from day one or is it going to be okay week 11 he
57:54finally takes off after they realize that you know Crod is just a jag literally and figuratively.
58:00>> I mean I know he's a Jag. There's no doubt about it. But he's kind of a productive Jag, you know, like he's not
58:08bad, you know, short yardage and all that. He also can catch the football as well. I mean, he's probably the least
58:14accomplished, but he's not a zero in in the passing attack. You know, I guess I I guess the biggest projection is Laquin
58:20Allen taking over the third down role.
58:22But, I mean, they drafted him, >> right? They they know his skill set. You know, it does make sense that he's on
58:27the roster right now as a potential change up third down back. Yeah, it's he's a guy I'm going to draft late in
58:36some some deep deep deep deep leagues like pros versus Joe's that I'm going to be doing with Matt Donnelly here in a in
58:41a few weeks. Well, Guru, we got through it all. Sorry for the internet issues. I don't know what the heck happened here.
58:46You you talked bad about the Jets and you know, the fantasy gods strike down your internet, but >> I got a couple more I can get to if you
58:53want.
58:55>> Fire away at you. Uh we don't have graphics for it, but doesn't mean we can't talk about it.
58:59>> Right. Um, well, how about no one knows who the true handcuff is for CMC this year?
59:08>> Yeah, I I'm with you because I don't necessarily think they're going to lean on like Kalon Black to come in and be
59:14the back. They could go out on the street and find Naji Harris all >> I love Kon Kalon Black though, man. That
59:21dude's good. He they had him as I think their third best running back in the class and he was taken as like the 10th
59:29um you know over at Indiana. He was in like a committee situation there, but he he was he was really good. Um and then
59:36Jordan James didn't do crap. So like nobody knows anything about that one.
59:40And that's that's important. Like I don't know are we gonna get the answer to that? I think we might if Kalon Black
59:46has a really good camp or or James, but nobody knows crap about that.
59:50>> Yeah. And Kayon Blacks, this is the greatest thing about football is in 2024 at Indiana, he did nothing. He ran for
59:59251 yards and then last year when they win the national total, he goes for over a thousand. I mean, that's >> But he was a James Madison guy, I
60:05believe, with the head coach >> two years before that. Yeah.
60:08>> Right. Yeah. No, I I thought he had really good contact balance and and vision. Um Yeah. I I thought he was very
60:17impressive, especially in that national championship game. Here's another one.
60:20And I know this is a real real big question and again I have not listed Lad Mcconi
60:30>> as a target and I love Lad Makoni >> because I'm just I'm just kind of waiting around like this is you know we
60:36don't know like like will there be a clear number one breakout receiver for the Chargers?
60:48Now, I will say this. If there is, it's Lad Maki.
60:53And, you know, I know our guy Ryan Heath is um of the opinion that, you know, he he might have the best chance to be kind
61:02of this year's JSN, and I did like JSN last year. I knew it was going to be a runheavy offense, but I'm like, they got
61:08nothing else here.
61:09>> Nothing else. Absolutely. I'm with you there. I mean, you've got Quinton Johnson, who's a first round pick. You know, you got Trey Harris. People forget
61:16Trey Harris was a second round pick a year ago. Trey Harris, good player. And even deep down the depth chart, there's
61:22a lot of guys. There's, you know, 58 tight ends. We got multiple running backs on this team who can catch balls.
61:27There's a lot to go around.
61:29>> There's a lot going on here. There's a lot of multiplicity. There's a lot of we're going to beat you this week with
61:34Oronda Gatston and then next week we're going to beat you with Quent Quinton Johnston. But, you know, again, if I had
61:40to had to guess, you know, I I would in fact go with uh Lad Manki. Here's a very interesting one in Minnesota that that
61:50no one knows about.
61:54>> How the Viking running back workload will be divided.
61:59I do have some thoughts here.
62:02You know, I do think that Aaron Jones, you got to be careful with Aaron Jones.
62:08I do think that Jordan Mason is gonna get some run here as a 14 carry a game guy. [snorts] >> Be a little more judicious with Aaron
62:19Jones. Utilize him more in the passing game. But I do think that Deont Claybornne, the rookie out of Wake Forest, is interesting because he's got
62:31some juice that they need. And that's why, you know, I'm going to that's why we're talking about it. I mean, De Man Claybornne is a name to
62:40keep an eye on in Minnesota, but I do think that Jordan Mason is going to get a chance to collect 200 carries
62:50this year, which is nothing to sneeze at.
62:52>> I completely agree with you. And listen, >> of course, Kyler's going to vulture a lot of short touchdowns from him, by the
62:58way.
62:58>> Well, that that's true. You know, they Aaron Jones is 32 years old. They're paying him nearly $5 million. And I saw
63:05some folks online saying, "Oh, you got to follow the money. You know, they're paying him all this dough. They want Aaron Jones to be Aaron Jones is so
63:12cooked." I mean, let's let's be honest here. And you mentioned the word juice.
63:16That's what this team's going to need cuz their defense is very good. And if their offensive line is healthy and they
63:22can protect, Kyler is going to be, I think, sufficient back there. Anybody who can give them a speck of juice is
63:29going to be on the field. So Claybrron could be a guy down the road. It wouldn't shock me at all if he's in the
63:33waiverwire column seven, eight weeks into the season because they figure out like, hey, you know, Jordan Mason's kind of just a plotter and and Aaron Jones
63:40has nothing left.
63:42>> Yeah, for Mason, it's all about the health of the offensive line. They got to block it up. That's it. If they block
63:47it up, he'll be more than fine. Uh, and I I am pretty optimistic about the O line. If Darasaw and Donovan Jackson on
63:55that left side are healthy, that's a that's pretty damn good. Last one that we'll get to here this morning or hit
64:02me, baby. Come on.
64:03>> Um, let's see.
64:06No one knows right now if the Raiders will have a viable wide receiver for fantasy, which certainly bodess well for
64:17Brock Powers. Um, you know, but I hate to say it, but I think Trey Tucker, he's probably going to be a value. He's
64:25going to have to play a lot, but I do like Jaylen Naylor. Bingo. Love it. I heard you mention that on the Sirius
64:32show this morning, and I I'm totally with you. He was, you know, he was a solid three in Minnesota. He's a decent
64:41enough player. If you could draft him in the 12th round of your home league, and nobody in your league even knows who he
64:46is.
64:47>> Yeah. I think he could be a good wide receiver four, five4, you know, mix in somebody gets hurt by week, whatever the
64:52case may be.
64:53>> I mean, he did play in Minnesota with Kirk Cousins >> and in a comparable system. So, and and they went out and got him and the buzz
65:03has been pretty good. Uh, and Jack Bes is just a guy, let's be honest. And and so is uh Trey Tucker. um they will play
65:12a lot of 12 personnel I'm sure with Michael Mayer who's going to be a contributor but I do think that Jaylen
65:18Naylor um is going to be on the field if there's only two wide receivers on the field it probably be I guess Tucker
65:25Naylor maybe Bash and Naylor but I I do think that Jaylen Naylor is is somewhat sneaky and oh by the way um didn't
65:32didn't add it on here but like I do think that Mike Washington at running back is gonna get some opportunity ities here. So, I'm I don't
65:43know about Ashton Genty about 12 overall. I mean, if he slipped to like 15, sure, >> but I don't know I don't know if I'm
65:49going to go with Ashton Genty at 12 overall. If the rookie Mike Washington gets some play, I mean, Genty is still
65:56going to be the bellcow, but you know, he could chip in just enough to to hurt Genty a little bit, at least in terms of
66:02taking him at 12 overall. A name to watch also out in Vegas, Malik Benson, rookie out of Oregon. been reading some
66:10things about him, getting some getting some run. He looks pretty good. So, uh, just don't don't forget about him. They got a lot of
66:17>> I love Dylan Lobby as a guy, you know, like a good receiver, but >> they just they don't play him. You know,
66:23it's a new staff here, so we'll see. But let's not forget Kubak, you know, we're just basing it off of recent history
66:29with Kubak. He did work in a with two backs. I mean, part of that may have been because of Kenny Walker bouncing
66:35all his runs, but uh that could be in his DNA to work in a second back liberally. Now, he probably wouldn't do
66:41that much with Washington, but I mean, Washington could be a guy who gets like six, seven carries every week. That might be enough to, you know, chip away
66:51a little bit at Genty.
66:53>> Yeah, for sure. I Genty burned me last year. I'm still so jaded. Uh speaking of former Raiders, I I texted you and told
67:00you about this. I ran into our guy Latavius Murray again this week. He agreed he's going to come on the podcast. We're going to have Lat Murray
67:07come and chop it up, talk a little football here. I told him how we chart all the plays and everything. He's he's
67:13got some theories on charting plays and and some of the advanced analytics. So, we're going to have Latavius Murray on here soon to talk it up. Folks, what I
67:21want you to do with the rest of your day, two things. Number one, go over to fantasypoints.com. Use our code fantasy.

67:43Got a good 35 minutes or so with Sheffy talking about his thoughts on the 2026 season. And he's a big fantasy player,
67:50so he has a lot of insight on what uh what's going to happen here in the coming weeks. All right, Guru. I think
67:57uh I think we hit the nail on the head of the thing again. Sorry for the crazy internet. That's never really happened
68:01here, but you know, [ __ ] happens, I guess. Uh, so for the guru, thanks to Trey behind the glass. Everybody in the
68:07chat, we love you. Thanks so much. I'm Brian Drake. We'll see you next time on the Fantasy Points podcast.
