Dalton Kincaid

PositiveBreakout0:15

Kincaid's efficiency metrics (yards per route run, targets per route run, fantasy points per route run) are elite and rank in the top corner, but he's currently a part-time slot player; the hope is he finally gets a full-time role this year.

Insight page
PositiveRole0:16

Kincaid gets first reads from the quarterback and is heavily targeted in the red zone, scoring touchdowns when deployed, suggesting significant upside if given more playing time.

Insight page

David Njoku

PositiveDepth Chart0:08

David Njoku was surpassed by Harold Fannin on the depth chart, with Fannin becoming the lead target in the Texans offense after week one.

Insight page

Denzel Boston

PositiveRole0:09

Denzel Boston is viewed as a good prospect with size and Drake London comparisons, but analyst expects Fannon to still lead the team in targets despite Boston's addition.

Insight page

Deshaun Watson

NegativeProjection0:08

Analyst is not super stoked on Deshawn Watson as the Browns quarterback, citing concerns about the QB room as a limiting factor for tight end production.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:12

Despite concerns, analyst admits Deshawn Watson is one of his highest rostered baseball quarterbacks at QB 34 ADP, as he only needs to start and blow that ADP out of the water.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:12

Watson's ADP is QB 34 and he only needs to start to blow that ADP out of the water; he's one of the speaker's highest rostered quarterbacks in redraft because of the upside potential if he locks down the starting spot.

Insight page

Eric Ebron

PositiveRole0:28

Eric Ebron ran 79% of his routes from a wide receiver spot under Frank Reich and scored 13 touchdowns with Andrew Luck, serving as a historical comparison for how tight ends can be utilized in spread offenses.

Insight page

Garrett Wilson

PositiveRole0:27

Garrett Wilson is going to be the top target on the Jets team.

Insight page

Harold Fannin

PositiveBreakout0:08

Fannon had a true breakout season as a rookie, tied 2nd in targets per route run and tied 4th in first read target share, trailing only Trey McBride, Brock Bowers, and George Kittle.

Insight page
NegativeProjection0:08

Harold Fannin's upside is tempered by uncertainty in the Texans quarterback room, with concerns about both Deshaun Watson and C.J. Stroud.

Insight page
PositiveBreakout0:08

Harold Fannin is an analytical darling with elite college production (PFF receiving grade leader, yards per route run god) who had a true breakout season, tying for second in targets per route run and fourth in first-read target share.

Insight page
PositiveRole0:09

Despite increased target competition from Casey Conpsion and Denzel Boston, Fannon is expected to remain the lead target on the Browns, as he has been a target earner at every level he's played.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:09

Analyst ranks Fannon ahead of both Kyle Pitts and Leaporta, viewing him as a massive edge pick in the current ADP environment.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:09

Analyst projects Fannon will easily get into the top 12 tight ends this season with David Njoku no longer ahead of him on the depth chart.

Insight page
PositiveUsage0:09

Fannon's route share is expected to increase significantly from 66% last year to higher levels this season, providing additional volume upside.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:10

Fannon has fallen 18 spots in ADP over the last two months, from the low-to-mid 80s in May to well into the 100s, making him an edge pick at his current price.

Insight page

Hunter Henry

PositiveRole0:14

Hunter Henry is not escaping defenders and is relying on touchdown opportunities rather than yards after catch like Fannon.

Insight page

Jake Ferguson

PositiveUsage0:06

Jake Ferguson's fantasy production was highly dependent on target volume; he averaged 17.7 PPR points per game when CeeDee Lamb was out (TE2 production) but only 9.4 PPR points per game when Lamb was healthy (TE20 production).

Insight page
NegativeProjection0:13

Ferguson had only 600 yards on 100 targets as a top-five tight end, making him one of the least productive top-five tight ends over the last decade besides Robert Tonyan.

Insight page
PositiveUsage0:32

Jake Ferguson runs a 4.82 40-yard dash, which is slower than some comparable tight ends, affecting his ability to separate from defensive backs.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:32

Jake Ferguson runs a 4.82 40-yard dash, which is significantly slower than elite tight end prospects like Kenyan Sadi (4.39), illustrating the athleticism gap that can impact ability to separate from defenders.

Insight page

Jalen Tolbert

PositiveDepth Chart0:40

Jaylen Tolbert is part of the Texans' weak wide receiver depth chart described as an 'island of misfit toys' with limited target opportunity.

Insight page

Jayden Higgins

PositiveBreakout0:35

Jaden Higgins was the best rookie in fantasy outside the first round last year, demonstrating that elite rookie production can come from later-round picks.

Insight page

Jerry Jeudy

PositiveRole0:11

Andrew Barry indicated that Jerry Judy remains the bellcow receiver and part of the Browns' future plan, suggesting Judy and Fannon will be the top two targets on the team.

Insight page

Kenyon Sadiq

PositiveBreakout0:32

Kenyan Sadiq runs a 4.39 40-yard dash at tight end, which is elite athleticism. The analyst is very bullish on him in Dynasty and actively tried to trade up to acquire him due to long-term upside.

Insight page

Kyle Pitts

PositiveProjection0:03

Andrew Cooper ranks Kyle Pitts as a top-5 tight end (ranked 5) despite him going as a backend tight end 8-9 in ADP, citing his elite athleticism (4:52 40-time, 95th percentile speed) and ability to create chunk plays like George Kittle and Chigoziem Okonkwo.

Insight page
PositiveBreakout0:04

Cooper compares Kyle Pitts' situation to Evan Engram's, noting that Pitts has faced the 'trifecta of tight end excuses'—injuries, poor quarterback play, and schemes that didn't leverage his skill set—but those obstacles are now being removed.

Insight page
PositiveRole0:04

Kyle Pitts has a clear path to being a top-two target on the team under new coach Kevin Stefansky, with the tight end role shifting away from in-line blocking schemes that previously limited his usage.

Insight page
PositiveRole0:04

Cooper believes Kyle Pitts' situation has improved significantly with Kevin Stefanski taking over as coach, offering him big slot potential and moving away from the previous scheme that forced him into a blocking role similar to Tyler Higbee.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:05

There are concerns that Kyle Pitts may not be penciled in as the number one or number two target on the Falcons, which is historically required for fantasy-relevant tight end production.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:05

Kyle Pitts should be ranked ahead of Sam LaPorta and potentially Tucker Kraft, yet goes 25 picks later in ADP, representing significant value.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:10

Analyst has Pitts ranked ahead of Leaporta and depending on format, Tucker Craft, viewing him as a strong value at his current ADP alongside Fannon.

Insight page

Malik Washington

NegativeDepth Chart0:40

Malik Washington is a carryover from last year as part of the Texans' weak wide receiver depth chart described as an 'island of misfit toys'.

Insight page
PositiveUsage0:40

Malik Washington and Greg Duliba have been the favorite targets of Malik Willis in camp, suggesting strong target opportunity.

Insight page

Mark Andrews

PositiveProjection0:21

Mark Andrews has league-winning upside and top-five tight end potential this season with improved route share and full-time playing time.

Insight page
PositiveRole0:21

The Ravens' offseason moves—not signing receivers and waiting to draft them—suggest Mark Andrews will return to full-time playing time after being split with Isaiah Likely and Charlie Kohler.

Insight page
PositiveUsage0:21

Andrews was tied in 22% route share over the last two seasons, but in 2021-2022 when he was a league winner, he had an 81% full-time route share that led all tight ends.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:22

Andrews is tied in two unexpected touchdowns over the last two seasons, just behind George Kittle, with strong touchdown upside and a proven mind meld with Lamar Jackson in the red zone.

Insight page
NegativeProjection0:22

Andrews' yards per route run fell off last year from his historical 2.0 average, and his separation score also declined, likely due to Lamar Jackson's run game dynamics.

Insight page
PositiveRole0:23

The Ravens' offseason was ideal for Andrews' upside: they didn't sign any receivers in free agency and waited to draft two (Jacobe Lane and Elijah Sarat), signaling he'll be the primary pass-catching tight end.

Insight page
PositiveRole0:23

The Ravens brought in Declan Doyle, signaling they want to run a Ben Johnson-style offense where the tight end is used as a pass-catching weapon from wide receiver spots, similar to how Colston Loveland was used.

Insight page
PositiveRole0:24

Mark Andrews has seasons where he's run 85% of his routes from a wide receiver spot, which is ideal for fantasy production and could result in 7-9 targets per game similar to how Colson Loveland was used.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:24

Andrews has 11 touchdowns in a previous season and historically excels in man-to-man short area coverage, translating to strong red zone equity with Lamar Jackson.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:24

Mark Andrews had 11 touchdowns the year before last and historically has been incredible in man-to-man short area situations, which translates well to red zone equity.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:25

Mark Andrews is the only tight end in the league besides Travis Kelce with two double-digit touchdown seasons on his resume, and 90 targets is easily within the range of outcomes for him to reach top-five tight end status.

Insight page
PositiveValue0:25

Mark Andrews can be drafted as a backstack shortly after Lamar Jackson, who is at his cheapest ADP ever, making it an attractive pairing strategy.

Insight page
PositiveUsage0:25

Mark Andrews has not had 90 or more targets since 2022, but he had 90 or more targets in four straight seasons prior to that point and is expected to push close to that range again.

Insight page
PositiveRole0:26

Mark Andrews is the clear number two target on the Ravens team, despite the team likely being more run-heavy with Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry.

Insight page
PositiveBreakout35:12

Mark Andrews is identified as the number two darkhorse league winner at tight end for 2026 and has a history of being a league winner.

Insight page

Mason Taylor

PositiveRole0:27

Mason Taylor is positioned as the inline tight end for the Jets, but the analyst believes he could be used as a big slot wide receiver type player based on Frank Reich's historical usage patterns with tight ends.

Insight page
PositiveRole0:28

Frank Reich has a history of using big tight ends as slot wide receivers; examples include Zack Z running 70% of routes from wide receiver spot, Antonio Gates at 70%, and Eric Ebron at 79% while scoring 13 touchdowns with Andrew Luck.

Insight page
PositiveProjection0:28

Mason Taylor has the fastest 40 time ever for a tight end and arguably the best tight end combine since Vernon Davis, giving him elite athletic tools.

Insight page
PositiveBreakout0:29

Mason Taylor could be a league winner if Frank Reich uses him as a slot receiver in 12 personnel packages; if he doesn't produce early, he can be dropped to waivers as a low-cost flier.

Insight page

Omar Cooper Jr.

PositiveRole0:27

Omar Cooper Jr. is another rookie competing for targets on the Jets alongside Adini Mitchell.

Insight page

Sam LaPorta

PositiveValue0:05

Sam LaPorta is overpriced relative to his target share outlook, with historical data showing Jameson Williams consistently receives more targets, and LaPorta now dealing with a back injury.

Insight page

Terrace Marshall

PositiveDepth Chart0:40

Terrence Marshall is part of the Texans' weak wide receiver depth chart, described as part of an 'island of misfit toys' with limited target opportunity.

Insight page

Tucker Kraft

PositiveRole0:07

Tucker Kraft may be the number three target on the Bears offense and is coming off an ACL tear, limiting his upside relative to Kyle Pitts.

Insight page
NegativeProjection0:10

Analyst questions Tucker Craft's value in PPR and tight end premium formats, noting his game is built on dump-and-run opportunities rather than route running or field stretching ability.

Insight page
PositiveRole0:11

Craft excels as a scheme fit for the Jaguars due to his ability to sell play action and screens, and his strength after the catch, but he is not a field stretcher like George Kittle or a route runner like Fannon and Pitts.

0:00Yo, what is going on? It is Fantasy Football Daily. I'm so pumped about this. I've been pumped about this since we've got this guest a couple weeks ago.
0:07Andrew Cooper, my guy from Fantasy Alarm, doing our first show together.
0:10It's Yeah. Yeah. Rough it, baby. Uh it's good to be with Andrew Cooper. This guy is one of the I followed him for a
0:16number of years. Never done a show with him. I was just talking with him, but I think he's one of the best tight end
0:20whispers that we have in fantasy football. Coupe, your hit rate on tight ends is immaculate. pretty much like every year you're ahead of the market at
0:28least on one big player. So, I had to have you on the show. We're going to be talking 10 Darkhorse League winners at
0:34tight end.
0:44>> Coup's going to give five. I'm going to give five. We're going to kind of hash it out and hopefully have some
0:49disagreements, have some good back and forth here on this one. Coupe, it's good to be with you, man. talking tight ends
0:55especially. Uh you really are a tight end guru. You've nailed a number of big tight end picks and I think this might
1:00be one of the best markets we've had at tight end. How's it going, man?
1:04>> It's going great, man. I was mentioning before the show to you as well, one of the first people I ever followed on this
1:10space. I came over from Reddit and I was like, who are the people to follow? Came across your profile. I was like, this
1:14guy knows ball. So, it's so funny, man.
1:18We're finally on the show. And I'll tell you, people will come to me sometimes and because they know, you know, I don't
1:23play in just tight end leagues, right?
1:24You got to rank everybody. And they'll be like, "Oh, I don't want to pigeon hole you into it being the tight end
1:28guy. Let's talk, you know, running backs, whatever." I'm like, I love tight ends, man. I'm like, "This is there's a reason that we dig into it that I I do
1:37more research at this position than any other one. It's okay to do a tight end show with me. I I want to. It's like
1:42this is it's like when you're in the elevator and you're wearing a hat of your favorite team, you want somebody to
1:48be like, "Oh, you're a Pats fan. I want to talk about tight ends." So like this is I love this, man. Great setup here
1:53with the the the dark horse league winners. That's my wheelhouse, baby.
1:57>> Yeah, this is wheel wheel wheelhouse for you as well. You know, like I've been saying, I've been following you for a
2:01number of years on Twitter. You always have the best tight end takes. And you're right, like in this industry, it's good to have a niche. It's good to
2:06have something that you're like really freaking good at, known for. So yeah, there's no absolutely no shame in that for you. And I'm the same way, bro. I
2:13wear my Jags hat proud. I see like two people with Jags hats here in Denver. Uh there are literally dozens of us out
2:21here. Uh you got to wear it proud. Wear the tight end hat proud. And man, I'm I'm pumped for this one. Let's get
2:27started here. We're going to start at the top. Coupe, I'll throw it to you first. We're looking at 10 Darkhorse League winners. We'll start basically
2:33we'll go in order of ADP kind of loosely based on ADP, but these are players that Coupe has ranked significantly higher
2:40probably in his personal rankings. Let's get it started, man. Who's your number one favorite target darkh horse league winner at tight end?
2:46>> Yeah, why don't we start? I like going ADP-wise because we can start with kind of the backend tight end ones and work
2:53our way down to the real sickos trying to win those like 20 round FFPC tight end premiums. So, we'll have a little
2:58something for everybody. But number one for me, uh, not necessarily a dark horse for everybody, but you know, seeing where he goes, Kyle Pittz in many cases
3:06is a backend tight end, one going tight end eight, nine. I have this guy ranked five, man. And my philosophy has always
3:14been to lean into guys that are special.
3:17There are only so many tight ends that even run a four five or so. If you run a 452, which you know, some people say is
3:24slow for wide receiver, that's 95th percentile speed. George KD, Chiga Conquo. You can do more with less, right? Breaking off chunk plays. There
3:33are three tight ends in the league who've had a single season with multiple 40 plus yard plays. It's George KD, it's
3:38Kyle Pittz, it's Chicka Conquo. Uh these are guys that uh can can beat safeties, can beat linebackers. And when you have
3:46a position that generally gets fewer targets, you do have to create in a big way, right? Like you have to be able to
3:52do the extra thing. So, a guy like Kyle Pitts, I was always going to be in on a dynasty and then we're waiting for the
3:58window of opportunity in reddraft to really have upside. To me, Kyle Pittz has kind of fell fallen down uh the the
4:05ladder of my favorite all-time fantasy tight end, for better or worse, Evan Ingram, right? In the realm, the trifecta of tight end excuses, Evan
4:14Ingram and Kyle Pittz. had injuries, they had uh quarterbacks that that weren't playing particularly well, and then they had schemes that that didn't
4:22really lean into their their skill set, right? So, for me, I look at Kyle Pittz.
4:26He was hurt. He's had bad QBs. He's had a guy like Zack Robinson that want wanted him to play in line, wanted him
4:32to basically be Tyler Higgby. Uh at times, he even used Charlie Warner over him because of his blocking ability.
4:39Those days are gone. Kevin Stfansky's coming in. You got the big slot potential. They, you know, didn't bring in a meaningful wide receiver, too.
4:47Unless I don't know, Graham, are you a big John Dodson or uh Zachariah Branch guy?
4:52>> I am not. That is, those are two of not my guys. I got to admit, I don't know. You know what? Branch, of
4:59course, with the rookie appeal, you know, he's a mystery box. But guys like Branch, very small, right? Those guys often start out as part-time players at
5:07best, uh, part-time slot guys. So for me, he's got such a clear path to being a top two target on the team, which
5:14historically the vast majority of fantasy relevant tight ends are top two on their team. And we say top two because the number one all-time tight
5:23end season, Rob Gronowski, 330 PPR points, that came in a season where Wes Welker got 173 targets. As long as you're as long as you're getting 100
5:33targets, you can make magic happen. But it's just rare to have three guys in the same team getting 100. And there are
5:39guys going ahead of Kyle Pittz. I gotta say, I'm not I don't have them penciled in to be number one or number two, man.
5:45And it makes me nervous.
5:46>> Well, is one of them Sam Leaporta?
5:48>> One of them is >> one of them. Sam Laora for me, too. I I I got to be honest, like I I kind of
5:54squinted at that one. I think Pitch should be going ahead of him. I have him straight up ranked ahead of uh I have
5:58Pits ahead of Leaporta. I'm with you on that.
6:00>> Me, too. Every year I put a poll, the same poll for three years in a I put the same poll on Twitter and I say, "Who
6:06gets more targets this year, Jameson Williams or Sam Leaporta?" It's time.
6:09It's almost time for that poll again.
6:10And then every year people pick Jameson Williams and I say, "Probably shouldn't be drafting Sam Laora then." You know, they haven't coexisted really at the
6:19same time. Uh, and now Leaporta's got this back situation. I don't know. It's it it's a little expensive for what you
6:26got to do there.
6:27>> I'm with you. And you make a great point that it really is every year you have to be either first or second on your team
6:33in targets. Uh we saw this with Jake Ferguson. I know this is kind of a random example, but remember when CD
6:38Lamb got hurt? He was the number two team. He was the number two on the team in targets and he was awesome for
6:43fantasy that five or six weeks. Then Lamb came back and Ferguson was completely useless. You know, it's like even on high
6:49>> even on high volume passing offenses, man, it happens.
6:53>> I got the numbers for you cuz I was looking at the same thing in the five games. So you exclude week 18 because
6:59they kind of pulled everybody uh during that game. So we got 16 games in the 11 games when Pickkins and Lamb were
7:07healthy. 9.4 PPR points per game. That's good. Good good for tight end 20.
7:12>> In the five games when Lamb either left or or was already completely out.
7:19>> 17.7 PBR points per game.
7:21>> Tight end two. It's the difference between prime Travis Kelce and like >> I don't know Pat Fry Mu over the last
7:28couple years like >> Yeah. Yeah. Exact. That's a perfect one.
7:32Yeah. Basically Kotton. Yeah. I'm I'm with you on your enthusiasm for Pitts. I think he should be going ahead of Leaporta. I I think I could make an
7:40argument for him over Tucker Craft as well. It's like Craft might be the number three target on this team. He's kind of a yak and run guy and he's
7:47coming off an ACL tear. Pitch just got the bag and he's going to be the number two team on the number two target on the
7:53team and he goes 25 picks later in ADP.
7:55Coupe, I'm I'm with you. I This is a first. I wasn't super in on pits last year. I think I'm I'm back in this year
8:01for sure. Uh I picked this player cuz they go back to back in ADP and I thought it'd be kind of interesting to
8:06to pick your brain a little bit on this one. But my dark horse, number one dark horse is Harold Fannon this year. It's
8:12the only thing that holds me back with Fannon. My enthusiasm, I'll just get it out of the top. It's the same thing
8:17that's holding me back with pits. It's the quarterback room. Not super stoked on Deshawn Watson. Not super stoked on Chadur Sanders. But I am very stoked on
8:25Harold Fannon. And I think this guy is incredible. Even going back to college, man. He was the number one tight end and
8:31PFF receiving grade his final season.
8:33The year prior to that, he was a yards per route run god. Basically an analytical darling. He falls into the draft and goes to this situation where
8:41it's kind of muddy, right? David Njoku is ahead of him on the depth chart.
8:44Well, he completely ethered him week one. Basically came out and was the lead target in this offense. Over the course of the season, true breakout season, he
8:52was tied in two in targets per route run, tied in four in first read target share. That first read target share
8:57trail only Trey McBride, Brock Bowers, and George KD. And Koopy did this on a 66% route share. That's going to come
9:04way up this season. He's tied in 19.
9:07Last year he was tied in 19 in route share. I think he gets easily into the top 12 this year with no David and
9:11Jooku. And yeah, sure they bring in more target competition. I'm in on Casey Conpsion longterm is a great prospect.
9:18Um Denzel Boston as well, you know, good ex receiver, has some size, has drawn some Drake London comps. They've got way
9:26more target competition this year. But I'm just looking at it as like, okay, the target competition has increased, but every level that this guy's played
9:34at, he's been a target earner. He's been awesome at every level. And now it's like, okay, I'm in on Conceptsion. I
9:40think Boston could be okay, but he's still going to lead this team in targets. And now we've got a big route
9:46share boost as well. Fannon and Pitts go backto back in ADP. And honestly, I've gone back and forth on both of these
9:52players in my rankings as well. I have both ranked ahead of ADP. I like both of them ahead of Leaporta as well. Uh but
9:59Fannon man to me, he is an edge pick.
10:02Massive edge pick. He's fallen in ADP as well. 18 uh 18 spots he's fallen in the last two months. He went from like the
10:09low to mid low to mid 80s uh over on underdog in May 1st. Now he's going well into the 100s as people are kind of
10:16like, you know, kind of flattening out their target shares and their projections for the Browns receivers this year. I'm big on Fannon, man. Uh
10:23who do you have Fannon versus Pitts? I think I think you're leaning towards Pitts right?
10:27>> I I have Pitts ahead, but I have them both because here's the thing. I honestly I have them both ahead of
10:32Leaporta and depending on the format, Tucker Craft. Tucker for craft. Uh, you know, if you play standard, I feel like that's such an easy click and and half
10:40PPR, but once you get into PPR and tight end premium, the way he plays doesn't necessarily really translate great to those. He's really lives on. To be
10:47honest with you, I'm not even that sure Tucker Craft is that great of a route runner. Like, he's not really breaking
10:52he's not breaking people off, right? But but >> dude, he's just a freight train after the catch. They and that's the thing is
10:57like he's such a good scheme for for Laf floor because he gets so many like dump and run opportunities but he's not like
11:02he's not a field stretcher like George KD he's not a freak probably route runner like Fannon and pits both those guys are running receiver type routes so
11:10I'm I'm with you on Craft. Yeah, he's Craft does that's incredible is like his ability to sell play action and sell
11:15screens. It's the there's a reason there's nobody else on the screen when he catches the football, you know. So, uh there's a there's a world for those
11:23guys. But Fannon, I mean, one thing that everyone knows is that betting on rookies is such a uh you know, high
11:30upside play, but what people forget is that betting against rookies is also such a huge way to create leverage. And at tight end, I love doing that. I look
11:39at it a lot of times and I say and you could do it with a number of guys across the league, but a lot of these guys are
11:44going to start slow and or potentially completely fail. So for me, you look at a situation with like Fannon where he's
11:50already the top dog and Andrew Barry comes out the day after the draft and he goes, you know, these, you know, we
11:56drafted these two guys, yes, but like Jerry Judy is still the bellcow and you know, this is our future plan. Like to
12:03me, Harold Fannon and Judy are probably still the top two targets on this team.
12:07And and unlike you, I actually call me crazy. Admitting this feels terrible, but but Deshawn Watson is one of my highest rostered baseball quarterbacks
12:17>> because I just I do draft Fannon. I will draft Judy. I'll even draft Conception or Boston and then this guy is ADP is
12:25like QB 34 and all he has to do is start to blow that ADP out of the water. You know, it's like do I am I am I telling
12:33anyone to buy his jersey? No. Am I telling you to have like 10% of him in baseball just in case? Yeah. Because I
12:39mean uh you get this uh false choice dichotomy, right? Where it's like we had it last year with the Colts. People
12:46said, "Oh, Anthony Richardson or Daniel Jones." And that brought both their ADPs all the way down. But whoever inevitably was going to start was going to destroy
12:53that ADP. And I think that's entirely possible with Watson. But uh the short and sweet on is that reddraft absolutely in on him. This is the this is a crucial
13:03crucial year for him. in dynasty. Would you not agree? He needs to lock down that spot. He needs to to to show up and
13:10be like, "Hey, this is my team. I'm the focal point and you guys are all hanging out." And if he can do that this year,
13:16then his value is locked in. He needs to keep those players below him on that on that totem pole. But yeah, I mean, all
13:22the criticisms of Fannon, he proved those to be untrue. I mean, people talked about the way he ran. I mean, whatever he's doing is creating a lot of
13:32wiggle, man. He's he has he's got escapability that is just you just don't see it at with many tight ends. Most
13:38guys are just catch and fall down. Jake Ferguson, man, there's a reason you only had 600 yards. 100 targets, 600 yards,
13:44you know. So, >> he is uh dude, he's he's basically keeping the light on for the Zack Z meme where he runs and falls down. Jake
13:50Ferguson, that's that's the whole that's the whole Earth bit. So, Fergus keep that alive.
13:55>> It is. He the fewest the fewest yards for a top five tight end over the last decade besides one player and that is uh
14:04Robert Tonan.
14:06>> Robert Tonion had like four 400 yards.
14:10Yeah. Br I mean it's just brutal man.
14:12And it's like uh Fannon is just Fannon and likely are the two guys that like even though they don't have the straight
14:18line speed, there's there's a element of like basketballesque wiggle to those guys where it's just you can't watch them play and and categorize
14:28them with guys like Hunter Henry. Hunter Henry is another guy where it's like he's not he's not escaping. He's hoping to catch touchdowns, you know? So Fannon
14:36for me is Yeah, I I'm still in, man.
14:39Yeah, I'm I'm pretty big on Fannon as well, especially where he's starting to go in drafts right at that 100 pick. Uh
14:45that's the way I want to play this year.
14:46You know, I want to get a couple running backs early, take a shotgun to the receiver range in that third to seventh
14:52round pocket. I just think receivers really strong there. And if I don't have a tight end by then, then yeah, I'm I'm
14:57dialing up Fannon and Pitts in that pocket. You mentioned how good Fannon is after the catch. Here at Fantasy Points Data, we chart missed tackles forced per
15:05reception. Fannon not only led all tight ends last year in Mistak was forced per reception. He he basically was like a
15:11top 15 wide receiver. Once you filter out, you know, players that that didn't play last year, Lad Mananki was just behind Lad uh excuse me, Harold Fannon
15:19was just behind Lad Makoni, Parker Washington, Jameson Williams, Z Flowers, and Mistack was Forest. And those are among the shiftiest, fastest players in
15:26the league. Uh I'm right there with you, man. I think Fannon fan is a baller.
15:30Fantasy Football Daily talking to Andrew Cooper from Fantasy Alarm going through our 10 Darkhorse League winners at tight end. Coupe, who is your number two
15:39Darkhorse League winner?
15:40>> And again, we're going in ADP. I got to get this name up here. This This is a guy where when I pick him, I still I
15:47still feel like maybe I'm stupid, right?
15:50Like I click the name, I'm like, we're doing it again. Here we go. But it's Dalton Concincaid. And I'll tell you for
15:57fantasy points members, you know, if you're in the data suite, this guy, he breaks a lot of the stats, breaks a lot
16:04of the spreadsheets, right? Because of his deployment. So when you go in and start sorting by yards per route run, targets per route run, fantasy points
16:12per route run, all those stats, he's just way up in the top corner. And that's probably because he's a part-time guy. And that's what you're hoping for.
16:20You're hope we see it a lot of times with these with these young wide receivers. They come into the league and
16:25they're a part-time slot guy, right?
16:27Like you have uh Chris Godwin when he was a rookie. I mean CD Lamb and JSN both part-time slot guys. And you look
16:33at the metrics and you say, "What if this guy was a full-time player?" I mean, we've been doing it for years with
16:38Josh Towns and we're hoping that this will be the finally the year that he gets that full-time role. You look at it
16:42and you're like, man, what if they just gave him more work? And that's Ben Concincaid to a tea. This guy when he's
16:48out there, he's getting first reads. I mean, they look to him in the red area.
16:52He he basically comes into the game, scores a touchdown, and leaves in the current iteration. So, your hope is that finally this year, they give up on this
17:00whole idea of like, okay, let's bulk you up, and you're going to be an inline tight end. Like, let's just forget that.
17:05Let's let this guy just be the full-time big slot guy with DJ Moore on the outside. I wish Khalil Shakir would just
17:12go away, but he he never will. But that I mean the bet there for me and again we're now getting into the range where
17:20we're outside the top 12 tight ends. So you can draft two in this range. You can basically say okay I'm going to draft
17:26this guy because I can start him early on. I'm not going to bleed too many losses and then I'll use a bench spot.
17:31I'm like the highest risk, highest reward guy. Concincaid for me fits the bill for that because I do think he has
17:38a decent floor. goes out and does get four targets, five targets most weeks, but what if he finally transcends into an every town player and then he has the
17:45upside as well. So for me, once I get outside the top 12, I look at Concaid and say, okay, you know, I'm not
17:51drafting one of the old guys now. I'm not drafting a complete unknown, you know, like one of the rookies, I'm drafting somebody that has a decent
17:59floor and his ceiling could be unlocked.
18:02Just know that when you draft this guy, he might go out and have a 40% snap share once again and frustrate the hell
18:07out of you. It's within the range of outcomes. There's I mean, you can't you can't mention that that's possible.
18:12>> Yeah, that's where I'm at with Concade, man. Is like his careerh high in terms of route share has been like 68% and
18:19that was 2023.
18:20>> Last year in games where he was fully healthy, he didn't run more than 60% of the routes in a single game. And you
18:27just you nailed it. I think it's like if Shakir were to go away or get hurt, then yeah, it's like wheels up and concaid.
18:32like this guy will have the fulltime route route share and get pretty much all of the interior targets there. Yeah, Concaid led all players in targets per
18:41route run. He had a ridiculous 3.2 yards per route run last year, too. Led all players as well. His his metrics
18:47underneath the hood look crazy, but it's easy to do when you're only running a 40, you know, 40% route share every
18:53single week. I do think that comes up.
18:55He is fully healthy. He dealt with a number of nagging injuries last year. He had a knee injury that kind of bled into
19:00his season last year as well potentially. This is his first fully healthy off off season he's had. So I'm with you. I think he plays more this
19:07year. It's just to what extent. I think that's the biggest question I have.
19:11Yeah, >> I'm cuz cuz they really just deploy him like fancy Cameron Bra. And I just I want him to be out there. Please just I
19:20mean just one time.
19:20>> Why can't he be a Jawan Johnson type?
19:22Why can't he be a Jan? is because dude because they I really truly think it's because they think he saw. You listen to
19:29the you listen to the comments especially from the GM and he's like yeah he had one comment in one off right
19:36after the season ended where he basically just threw him right under the bus. He was like yeah this guy needs to
19:41bulk up and stay healthy you know and it's like if they if they view him that way not to mention these the nagging
19:47knee injuries you're not going to be willing to deploy that guy full time. I think it's Concincaid is the kind of guy
19:54in Dynasty where I look at it and say eventually either he's going to leave or Shakir Dawson Knox are going to leave.
20:04When this guy has to get paid the big contract, somebody needs to make him a full-time player because I just don't
20:09see a world where you pay this guy and then deploy him for a 35% snapshare like he's been. So, I'll go to the looney bin
20:17with this guy uh until he gets that workload. It might not be this year, but again, I'm I'm willing to take that
20:24stab. But a lot of times when I draft him, I do circle back later for just like the highest risk, highest reward
20:30second tight end just to see what's going on now.
20:33>> Yeah, Concaid definitely has the upside, man. And if he does get into that 70% route share range like Jawan Johnson I
20:39was mentioning as a comp for him, that's kind of like the comp. He's a full-time slot player, but he he gets on the field
20:44a ton, then yeah, he's absolutely going to smash ADP attached to Josh Allen. You could run into a 9, 10, 11, 12 touchdown
20:50season for sure. I think in manage leagues, you kind of nailed it. It could absolutely be a headache again where his
20:56route share is just a little all over the place and you're left kind of scratching your head on like when to
20:59start him. I was in on concade and best ball last year at like a historically low ADP for him. I think I'm going to be
21:05in the same boat this year for sure just as a best ball only guy for concade. All right, Coupe, keep it going. My number
21:12two darkhorse league winner at F for fantasy this year is Mark Andrews. This guy has been a league winner at points
21:19in his career. Certainly, he was in 2021 and 2022 when he was back as a full-time player. He's tied into 11 in ADP. And
21:27the big thing for him over the last couple seasons has been the Dalton Concade thing. He's just not been a full-time player. He's been splitting
21:32routes with Isaiah likely. They've been playing Charlie Kohler a little bit.
21:36He's a multiple tight ends. Yeah, they can't really do that this year. Those guys are gone. The Ravens are going to
21:40have no choice but to play Andrews full-time again. He was tied in 22 in route share over the last two seasons.
21:46That's like right in that Dalton Concade pocket. But in 2122, like I was saying, when he was out there winning leagues,
21:52he was a full full-time player.
21:54Full-time route share, 81% led all tight ends and route share in those two seasons. I'm not fully imagining that he gets all the way back there. I think
22:02they can be a little more multiple. The Ravens can still be a little more multiple, especially if they sign a receiver here in the next couple weeks.
22:09All that being said though, I mean, bro, Andrews is tied in two inexpected touchdowns over the last two seasons, just behind George KD. The touchdown
22:16upside is still there and attached to Lamar. I think this is going to be a really condensed offense with Zay Flowers being 25 30% of the targets
22:24every week. But Andrews kind of getting that that roll bump again. Uh I'm big on Mark Andrews this season. I think he has
22:31some some like top five upside. Uh and obviously the touchdown equity has has always been good. like you can always bank on that with him. His mind meld
22:40with Lamar inside the five has always been good. So if he comes up in router, I think it's kind of like a slam dunk
22:46pick. The only thing that you can really point to with Andrews is that some of the metrics underneath the hood here at
22:52fantasy points today to have tapered off yards per route run. He was always very good, right around 2.0 every year. It's
22:58where you want your tight end. That fell off last year. His separation score also fell off. And I think this is probably a
23:04Lamar thing. Just the orbit that Lamar kind of brings and how you have to play against him and where you have to play
23:09your safeties and linebackers when you play against Lamar and kind of just I don't know just everything he does in the run game. He kind of opens things up
23:16naturally for the pass game as well, especially off play action. But Lamar's fully healthy going into this season.
23:22Coupe, where you out on Andrews, man?
23:23He's one of my guys, I think.
23:25>> Yeah, man. I And here's the thing. The off seasonason for Mark Andrews could not have run more pure in my opinion in
23:32terms of upside. I mean, there were all these wide receivers in free agency tied to the team. They didn't bring any of
23:38them in, right? Uh they drafted two wide receivers, Jacobe Lane and Elijah Sarat, but they waited in the draft to take
23:45those guys. And then they they bring in Declan Doyle, which is huge because, you know, this guy's 30 years old. And with
23:51certain coaches when you bring them in, you know it's not to change what they're doing, right? You bring in Cliff Kingsbury, you're going to get the air
23:59raid type offense. That's what you're paying for, right? And with Declan Doyle, you know that they're bringing him in because they look at Ben Johnson
24:05and they say, "That's what everyone should be doing. We're going to do that." And what they've been doing is essentially you have your kind of slot
24:13flanker. We don't know who that's going to be. I'm hoping it's going to be Z Flowers. Then you have one more outside.
24:18uh could be Baitman, could be any of the rookies. And they've used the tight end uh their pass catching tight end, which
24:24Mark Andrews on his resume has seasons where he's run 85% of his routes from a wide receiver spot, which is what you
24:30want to see in fantasy. Like he could come out and be used the way that Coulson Lelin was used, in which case
24:35he's getting seven, eight, nine targets back to the old days. Uh not to mention, especially for baseball, the touchdowns for this guy, I mean, with Lamar
24:44Jackson, all you have to do is keep moving, right? You could put a basket on top of a Roomba and Lamar Jackson could
24:50find a way to throw a touchdown to that thing. He had 11 touchdowns the year before last. And he historically has
24:57been incredible in in man-to-man short area man-to-man, which translates really well to to red zone equity. And there's two ways to get to top five to become a
25:06top five tight end. You either need every tight end going back to 2003, Randy Mcichael, has had one of these two
25:13things. you've had either 90 targets or doubledigit touchdowns, right? And Mark Andrews is the pretty much the only tight end in the league besides Travis
25:22Kelce that has two double-digit touchdown seasons on his resume.
25:25>> And and 90 targets is easily within the range of outcomes for this guy. So, there's two ways to get there. Uh and
25:31and with Lamar Jackson being, and I know this is a reddraft uh kind of skewed show here, but just to circle back to
25:38baseball, Lamar Jackson being the cheapest he's basically ever been. And then you can get Mark Andrews as a backstack shortly after that. I mean,
25:45I've been doing a lot of that.
25:47>> I'm with you on that. Yeah. If when I draft Lamar Mandrews is like immediately entering my queue. That's a that's an
25:53awesome stat, that 90 target or double digit touchdown stat. And M Andrews has not had 90 or more targets since 2022,
25:59but he had 90 or more targets in four straight seasons uh prior to that point.
26:03I think he kind of pushes close to that.
26:06I think the Ravens are are definitely going to be a lot healthier on defense this year. probably going to be a little
26:11more runheavy like they want to be with Lamar and Dererick Henry. But yeah, he's the clear number two target on this
26:17team. I'm with you on that. All right, Coupe, we're going to go a little further down the ADP board here talking
26:2310 Darkhorse League winners at tight end. Who's your third guy? All right, and this is where people will really start to understand my tendencies and
26:32the the lack of fear I have once we get outside the top 15 tight ends. And every single year for about 15 years now, a
26:41tight end has come from tight end 1580p or later to finish top five. It's been Evan Ingram twice. It's been Robert
26:48Tungion who we mentioned. It's been Dalton Schultz. Mark Andrews was one back him and Darren Waller both did it that one year. Going all the way back to
26:56Heath Miller in like 2012, you've had a guy. So Kenyan Sadi for me, I really do not care once you get into the tight end
27:0320 range. Who cares about floor? the floor for your tight end 20. What what format are you playing in where that
27:10>> Who cares about Dalton Schultz Coupe?
27:12Give me the upside.
27:13>> Give me the upside, brother. Like what what exactly do we care about in this range? It doesn't matter if you're
27:18playing in some maybe in Scott Fishbowl you care about floor, but you're also trying to come in only one team wins out
27:23of 5,000. Screw floor. So Kenyan Sadique for me the floor like every argument against him is based on floor. He's a
27:31rookie. The Jets stink. Their quarterback stinks. Like don't care.
27:35Let's talk about the upside, right?
27:36Garrett Wilson is going to be the top target on the team. You can write that in pen, right after that, who's number
27:44two? Adini Mitchell. Him versus another rookie in Omar Cooper Jr. And uh Mason Taylor is going to be the inline tight
27:52end. So, I know your graphic here has him in gray. I don't think it's going to quite work out like that. We actually
27:57have a history of Frank Reich. You got to go back a little bit, okay? So, bear with me here, folks. But if you if you
28:02take Frank Reich's entire history in this league, you can go back and find like four or five different examples of him using a big tight end as a a big
28:13slot wide receiver type player. You go in and you look and he had Zack Z running 70% of his routes from a wide
28:19receiver spot and he finished uh top five. He had Antonio Gates who obviously uh you know is a legendary tight end,
28:26but for him he also 70% of his routes rolling from a wide receiver spot. How about this one? Eric Ebron ran 79% of
28:33his routes from a wide receiver spot for Frank Reich and scored 13 touchdowns playing with Andrew Luck. There's a real possibility where the main setup for
28:42this offense is what is becoming the most popular one around the league, which is primary 12 personnel with two wide receivers out there for the most
28:52part and sometimes even one wide receiver out there. In which case, now we have this guy who's basically playing slot and he has the literally the
29:00fastest 40 time ever for a tight end, right? Like arguably the best tight end combine since Vernon Davis uh this guy
29:07had. So like for me, yeah, it could be terrible. It could be a rookie tight end on the Jets who hardly even plays and
29:14doesn't matter. And if that's the case, then we just drop him right to wavers because he's tight end 20. But if I have
29:19somebody like Travis Kelce or Mark Andrews or Dalton Concaid that I'm just saying, "Okay, I'll start this guy for the first couple weeks." Of course, I'm
29:26going to just throw a guy like this on the bench and just see if he is a just complete freak, right? Because uh the
29:31opportunity is at least there. If this team had Jamar Chase and T Higgins, I'd be out. But they have one guy. They have
29:38Garrett Wilson. And then it's open.
29:40>> I love this call. And this is a player that our guy Chris Wet who does our projections here at Fantasy Points. We
29:46were just talking about him a couple of days ago in one of our best ball rankings meetings. And he's like, I kind
29:50of feel like Sadi is one of the players we're all going to look back on and be like, "Wow, why did I not draft this
29:55player more for a lot of the reasons you were just saying?" The main thing to me is, yeah, he should be their full-time
30:01slot receiver. Like, if you're playing optimally, I mean, this guy was what, 50 60% of his routes, correct me if I'm
30:06wrong, was run out of the slot last year at Oregon. Uh this is like speeds size guy kind of in the same vein as Harold
30:12Fannon kind of how he got typ casted at least just how that we thought of these players as prospects right like maybe
30:17just their slot only but then you mentioned the fact that yeah I mean the receiver room is completely wide open behind Wilson it's Omar Cooper is a
30:25rookie Adnai Mitchell who's been very up and down and then they've just got like Tim Patrick and Aren Smith I mean it's
30:30completely wide open and then you mentioned the athleticism and typically like with running backs and receivers in particular there's very little signal
30:38theore correlation between like athleticism and fantasy points over your career is it's not exactly perfect, but at tight end it really freaking matters.
30:46And here at Fantasy Points, we have something called spork. It's something that Scott came up with. It's basically like your total athleticism score
30:53combining your 40-yard, your vertical, your broad. Yeah, Kenyan Sadi is literally first, dude. Out of all the tight ends in this entire database going
31:02back to 2000, Kenyan Sadi leads all of them in in spork. Top two are George KD and Kenyan Sadi. Eli Sters, little shout
31:10out there as well. It's kind of a similar argument for him as as well.
31:13We're not talking Sters on this show, but another slot receiver who's going to play a lot in 12 personnel. Uh might get
31:18a little cucked by Mai Lemon though. Uh but not with the Jets here. Kenyan Sadique has a runway. I'm with you to be
31:25a fantasy relevant player this year. Not just be a fantasy relevant player, but like legitimate upside. Uh Gino Smith Gino Smith has that Jamus Winston
31:33experience, man. like you know he's going to he's going to throw some picks but he also you know he's he's been okay
31:38for fantasy at least his receivers he's been all right >> he can let it fly man I'll tell you yeah Eli Sters the the argument is is similar
31:45and also you got to remember that it's not just slot in my database I always take wide I take slot plus wide receiver
31:53because these guys can play split end why can't Eli Sters this guy's 6'5 why can't he go out and play split end like
32:00people argument about his inline blocking but he's going to be a better blocker than any of the uh any of the
32:05the the the the wide receivers on the team. So, why can't these guys play out wide? And Kenyan Sadi, when you take his slot plus
32:13out wide, 69.2% of his routes run were from a wide receiver spot. Entirely possible. And also, while you know, while we're throwing shout outs for
32:21fantasy points, check out Ryan Heath's work. He did an article on spork and how it applies to each different position.
32:29And he basically proved in there that at running back and wide receiver, straight line speed doesn't matter that much, but at tight end it does. And it makes a lot
32:37of sense because you're not going to outrun corners. Those guys are freaks.
32:41But you can outrun linebackers and safeties. And that's the difference between a guy like Jake Ferguson who runs a 482 and a guy like Kenyan Sadiq
32:49who runs a 439. What the heck?
32:52>> Yeah, 439 is ridiculous at tight end.
32:54It's truly ridiculous. Yeah, there's a lot of upside with Sadi. very bullish on him in Dynasty. I just last night tried
33:01to trade up for a pick to get him in a in a team where I'm very weak at tight end because I'm very very bullish on him
33:07long term. Coupe, great stuff, man. This has been awesome so far. You can listen to Coupe on SiriusXM. He is a lead
33:14analyst at Fantasy Alarm. Follow him on Twitter, Coupe Afiasco on Twitter. We're going to keep it going here, man. Uh same ADP bucketish. Dallas
33:24Goddard goes kind of he goes earlier. I think he's he's a lot more boring uh than than some of these tight ends. It's
33:31just mainly a technical value thing with Gddard, right? He's tight end 15 in ADP.
33:36AJ Brown leaves. You leave, you know, AJ Brown leaves the orbit of this Eagles offense in my opinion as far as value
33:42goes. I think he's the safest bet in this Eagles passing offense. It's it's boring. Like we were just talking about like right at tight end 1580p. This is
33:49kind of where we just throw floor out.
33:51But Goddard does have legitimately a good floor. He's finished top 12 in points per game in PPR in four straight seasons. Two of those were top end
33:59campaigns. So yeah, you can say, okay, Goddard probably doesn't have the top five upside of, you know, some of the players we were talking about like
34:06Harold Fannon, Mark Andrews, Kyle Pittz, even Daltton Concaid. I think Concaid on paper has more upside than Goddard, especially if he gets a full-time route
34:14share this season. It's just that, you know, Goddard, man, I mean, he's always been a target earner. He's earned 28% or
34:19more targets per game and averaged 34% more XFP per game when AJ Brown is off the field. And now, you know, it's just
34:26Devonte Smith and Sters competing for targets with Mai Lemon as well. Uh I look at Goddard and I see someone I can
34:32immediately plug and play in the first couple weeks of the season. And Coupe, you kind of said something earlier that kind of like stuck with me. I do this
34:39too in a number of leagues like especially shallow leagues where it's like a 10 team or 12 team league and I'm
34:44just playing against some friends or whatever. I'll just completely punt tight end. I'll take some like boring floor guy like Goddard and then pair him
34:50with Dalton Concaid and you can do that very very cost-e effectively this year.
34:55>> Yep. The old yin andyang tight end is what I call it, man. And he's the he's definitely in the yin category. This is
35:00the first time in my life that I have clicked the name Dallas.
35:05>> Really interesting. He's always been a little overpriced. I'm with you. Yeah, >> it's AJ Brown, man. Because here's the thing. He was the inline tight end to
35:12Zach and I wasn't drafting him then. And then immediately after Zack Hurts was gone, it was like, "Oh, here we go." And
35:19then they drafted Devonte Smith and traded for AJ Brown. And it's like, geez, they put the cap right back on top, you know? So, for me, I never click
35:26on this guy. But this year, finally, I people are shocked when I when I'm like, "Yeah, he's he's a guy we're picking as
35:32part of Ying Yang because we are willing to bet against rookies." That's simple as that. Is that like Mai Lemon, we
35:38don't know what he's we don't know if he's gonna come out and get 125 targets or come out and get 70. Look at Luther
35:42Burton last year. here. I mean, Luther Burton, look at every pick outside, like I know he's the first round pick, but I
35:49mean, like rookies last year, who is the best uh rookie in fantasy outside the first round? It was like Jaden Higgins,
35:57you know? So, like the all the time these guys start slower or don't hit right away. So, for me, a guy like GD
36:03and as well uh they also uh look to him for a lot of screens and they look to him in the red area, not the way you
36:11would think. They do a lot of gadgety stuff underneath with him and like designed uh bubble screens and things like that. That all counts for me. I
36:19mean, how many times has Travis Kelce scored on some bogus shovel pass? You know what I mean? But that that's that
36:24counts.
36:24>> Those points score, baby. Those >> That's a score.
36:26>> That's a touchdown pass, right? It's like they're doing that. They they they have a tendency to do that with God. So,
36:31this is a guy I was hoping this would be our first disagreement, but for the first time, uh I am willing to click the
36:37button on this guy. I mean, uh, in virtually every category, catches versus man-to-man, screens, he's pretty good.
36:44The one category that, shockingly, this guy didn't have a single contested catch. So, I don't know if that's by design that they're just I know Jaylen
36:53Herz doesn't really like throwing short area uh at all or really >> short area over the middle. That's the stat. Yeah,
37:02>> but they're bringing in Mai. I think they're trying to force him into that a little bit here. But I mean like the
37:07guy's route participation 85% target share 18% ADOT was good. He even you think of him as an inline tight end but
37:1460% of his routes were run from a wide receiver spot. So if they can keep Eli Sters in the bottle and not have him
37:21kind of taking any sort of like pass work that pushes him in line then I think Goddard's got you know more upside
37:27than he's ever have which is surprising because they see every year they seem like they're about to get rid of him and
37:32then they bring him back you know. So, uh, he's definitely as part of a two tight end build, definitely a first
37:38tight end that I'd consider.
37:40>> Yeah, he seems like a guy who will start the year reasonably well, kind of give you steady production throughout, and
37:46then, yeah, just does not have a whole lot of upside throughout the season. I definitely am with you on that. All
37:50right, Coop, we'll toss it back over to you. We're going to be talking about two, well, yeah, basically the rest of
37:54these players are going to be going to uh go outside of the top 20 in ADP.
37:58These are players that are going 14th, 15th, 16th round in baseball and some of them completely undrafted. Who are you looking at beyond Kenyan Sadiq? You get
38:08past tight end 20 in ADP. Who's one of the first players you want to click?
38:12>> Okay, let's go. Let's get deep in there, man. I mean, uh, >> get in there.
38:16>> Let's get in there. Okay, this is a guy that I'm draft. This is my most rostered tight end in baseball. So, this is a
38:22money where your mouth is type pick. Uh this is also another pick where the floor is lava, right? Like this guy
38:28could be legitimately brutally terrible.
38:31He has uh don't look at his career stats, but we're talking about Greg Dulich here, folks. We're talking about a guy uh the How many How many posts do
38:41I have to put in front of Post Hype Sleeper here on this guy? We're talking >> three I think at least three posts
38:46there man.
38:46>> Three different times. We're like, "Oh, uh yeah, you know, Shawn Peyton really get released him. Now he'll be good with
38:52the Giants. People don't even remember he was on the Giants, but now he's on the Dolphins, okay? And and hear me out,
38:58folks. The scheme that they've been using with Mike McDaniel has it uses a fullback. It uses inline tight ends.
39:06They've used guys like Durham Smite, Julian Hill as the inline tight end, and then Alec Engel has been the fullback.
39:12Uh Bobby Sloick runs a very similar scheme. He worked with Shanahan and McDaniel back with the 49ers. He was the pass game coordinator back for a while
39:21with them. He went to the Texans and the first thing he did was install this offense. They brought in Andrew Beck at
39:26fullback and it's really a two- wide receiver offense with multiple tight ends and he was the pass game coordinator for the Dolphins last year.
39:33Over the last two years, they've had their tight end run 70% of the routes from a wide receiver spot, whether that
39:38was John Smith or whether it was Darren Waller, right? So, you look at Dosich and last year when Waller went down, he
39:44came in and played that role and and got a couple games with five targets. He had a game with five catches on one of
39:49those, right? So, uh, right there we're like, "Okay, let's keep an eye on this guy through the off seasonason. This team had so many picks in the top 100.
39:57They had a bunch of, uh, money available at a certain point. Uh, and then they basically went full tank mode. They have
40:04more dead cap than active spending. They did not take a wide receiver in the with their top 100 picks. One of the two wide
40:10receivers they took is coming off a serious ACL injury and Chris Bell, he's not going to be ready." I mean, just
40:15look at the screen, folks. I know if you're listening, you can't. Let me read off these wide receivers. It is the
40:19island of misfit toys. The the rehash and man I'm I'm may I'm rooting for some of these guys to to have a second win
40:26somewhere. But we're talking about 22 Atwell who I mean how many Rams wide receiver injuries do we see? This guy got opportunities. Uh Jaylen Tolbert uh
40:35you know they brought in Terrence Marshall probably the only wide receiver ever go to LSU that's not awesome. And then they have Malik Washington who is
40:43kind of a carryover from last year. So just on the this team's going to be terrible. There's no doubt about it. But
40:48on the default alone, the opportunity can be massive. And people in camp are basically saying that Malik Washington and Greg Dulich have been the favorite
40:55targets of of Malik Willis so far. So yeah, I know the the the floor is so bad, but it's just in this range. It's
41:04so hard to find anyone that could be a top two target on this team on their team. This guy could lead his team in
41:09targets, and you can't ignore that.
41:12>> I think he might actually lead the team in targets. It probably won't be like by a significant margin. This is one of
41:17John Hansen's guys as well and you guys are just totally selling me on it. It's like dude the the the rest of this
41:22receiver depth chart is none of these guys have ever been target earners. 22 Atwell you mentioned. I mean dude he's he's just a field stretcher and kind of
41:29like a bit player guy. Jaylen Tolbert has perinally been like a wide receiver three and four and Malik Washington had his chance last year and just like not
41:36only did he not play like I mean he he basically was demoted at the end of the last year. like he he was, you know, had
41:43his chance with Tyreek Hill after the injury, just could not make it happen.
41:46Uh there's there's there's definitely some upside with Doulich. Uh you know, you mentioned him basically being like a full-time slot player. I think this is
41:54like a perfect situation for him in that in that regard because like I said, I don't think Malik Washington is good at
42:00playing football and Greg Doulich has certainly shown a little bit of upside in his career. He looked okay last year.
42:06I think there was a week in DFS where I played him at stone minimum and he had like five catches for 50 yards and it
42:11was awesome and that at stone minimum and DFS that's pretty awesome. But for fantasy this year I'm I'm with you. I
42:16think there's a little bit of upside here. I think he could absolutely lead this team in targets. And even if he
42:22doesn't there's probably like a world where he like is I don't know getting 75 80 targets this season and that might be
42:28good enough for like you know definitely some spiked weeks in best baller. If you're in tight end premium use them as
42:32like a low-end flex. So, I'm with you on Doulich. You and John have definitely encouraged me uh to to go back and and
42:39kind of revisit that one. It's just, bro, it's just this Miami offense, man.
42:43Might be so bad.
42:44>> So bad, bro. This seems to be by design.
42:46They're bad. But I'll tell you one one thing you don't need to worry about is that with another guy I like that I'm
42:52not sure if he's on your list or not. Uh but a guy Cha Conquo, um >> similar bets, very similar bets. But the
42:59difference for me right now is the Dolphin the the commanders still have $43 million in cap space and they're talking all these rumors about Diggs
43:07Iayuk whatever they could bring somebody in the Dolphins >> Miami >> they they needed the they needed the Bradley Chub June 2 money to come in
43:16just to pay their rookies. The rookies were not signed until that money came in. They have this team has no money,
43:22dude. Like, >> yeah, this this is something that Brett Wefield was talking about like that no one was really saying. Like, they didn't
43:28trade Wadd just for the picks. It was for the money. Like, they did that. They literally couldn't afford the rookies.
43:34>> They could Yeah, they couldn't afford they couldn't afford him anymore, man.
43:37Like, so yeah, you cash in on a good player and get some draft capital, but you also like, dude, I don't think I
43:43don't know if they could go into the season. Uh this this team is I I I've said this a few times like we get a
43:49little overconfident in our ability to project the league's worst offenses. I would personally have the Dolphins and Jets flipped in implied points per game.
43:57The Jets are actually implied for the fewest points per game. The Dolphins are like 2930th. They're right there with the Browns. I would just flip them. I
44:04think Miami is the worst offense in football. But you don't have to pay for that with Doulich. And I'm with you. I
44:09think there is definitely a little bit of upside here. Coupe. This has been awesome so far, man. Uh, again, follow all of Andrew Cooper's excellent
44:18content. Follow him on Twitter, Coupe Afiasco. He's always pumping out the goods. We'll keep it going here, man. My fourth Darkhorse League winner at tight
44:29end is Gunner Helm. Player that I liked coming out of college. He was blocked by, you just mentioned him, Chicka Conquo last season, but Helm quietly
44:37kind of closed out the season. not super productive, but if you look through it through the lens of draft capital and
44:43where he was drafted, I think we can paint a rosier picture on Helm than maybe most would. Helm joined just George KD, Aaron Hernandez, Kate Dotton,
44:52and Aronda Gatsson is the only rookie tight ends drafted round four later to have 40 or more receptions since 2010.
44:59So, we're looking back since 2010. Not a bad list to be on there. And now, Chica Conquo is gone. We've got a completely
45:05wideopen target share uh behind Carnell Tate and Wandell Robinson. I think you could squint and see some upside here with Helm as maybe the number two target
45:16if you know Wandell kind of takes a step back or Cardinal Taton isn't the guy we think he is right coming out. Uh but
45:22Gunnar Helm really good field stretcher, great hands. I think there's some a little bit of upside here for for tight end premium leagues as like a tight end
45:30too. I I don't know if he is the clear number two target on this team. Like you were saying, that's kind of the criteria
45:36I look at as well. That that's the one thing that's giving me pause, but I just loved him as a player coming out and now
45:42he's fully cleared for a full-time route sharer. The big thing I came come back to is not necessarily the target competition. I'm just not completely
45:50sold on Cam Ward. I thought Cam Ward acquitted himself very nicely last year.
45:54He's got to take a big step forward.
45:56There's no way he supports three fantasy relevant wide receivers if he does not take a step forward. But Gunnar Helm is
46:01someone that I've been clicking a ton in basketball leagues this year.
46:04>> Yeah, basketball. That's exactly the format for this guy because you can you can paper over the top two target with
46:10some chunk plays. And I'll tell you what, Gunnar Helm is the perfect example of how of why tight end evaluation coming out of college is so hard, dude.
46:20because this guy went to Texas where if you're a tight end that wants to be, you know, considered a fantasy asset, don't
46:27go to Texas. They have you lining up in line every snap, block out like 25% of your pass plays. And Gunner Helm still
46:35was able to show enough to get picked.
46:37Then in classic tight end o fashion, he goes out, you saw this, right? The 40 for Gunner Helm. He rolls his ankle.
46:46>> Yep.
46:46>> And finishes it. And then he runs it again and runs an absolutely terrible 40 time which could have affected his draft
46:53stock.
46:53>> I think it definitely did. I think it definitely did.
46:55>> Like what are you doing? Where is your agent? Is he not there being like dude don't do that? Watch the video. His foot
47:00is literally sideways on the ground and he he pulls the old no I'm good. Like no dude like I would love to know what his
47:07actual 40 time is because he seems a little bit faster than that. So, for me, uh, and Cam Ward, you, you know, I don't
47:14really play the tendency game that much because I lean more into like play calling and things like that, but Cam Ward absolutely loved Elijah Royo at
47:21Miami as well, uh, down the seam, which is what Gunnar Helm likes to do. So, basically, you you guys know what the
47:27bet is. Calvin Ridley, not only is he on the far back end of his career here in my opinion, but that ankle injury he
47:34suffered brutally bad. It's like that that's the one basically that Chris Godwin and and uh Cam Scatabo suffered like uh basically broken ankle with
47:45requiring surgery. So he's out on he's out for me. Wando Robinson is a guy that I'm in on which has me a little bit um
47:54has me hesitant on Gunner Helm outside of baseball because I you know you take a guy in Carl Tis four overall and then
48:00you got Wendell Robinson back-to-back 140 target seasons following Brian Dable getting $70 million. I kind of feel like uh that's going to be the problem there
48:10uh for his upside in reddraft. But again, like a lot of guys in this range, there's contingent upside there. And there's also the possibility that Wanda
48:20Robinson and Carnell Tate failed. Like, we're not talking about uh Pukin Dua and Dvonte Adams here. You know, we're not talking about two locked in 125 target
48:28guys. So, there's a path.
48:30>> Dude, I just think Gunnar Helm's good.
48:31Like, he led Texas in receptions against Matthew Golden and Isaiah Bond. Like, and that was with Quinners, a quarterback who was legitimately awful.
48:39Um, yeah. I I think I just think Helm is a really good player and he probably did fall into the fourth round because of
48:44that injury. That's a great point. All right, Coupe, get us out of here, man.
48:48Who is your darkest horse league winner?
48:50The darkest horse you're backing deep league sleeper. We're mainly talking like deep leagues for FFPC. Who's your guy this year?
48:58>> Yeah, we're talking 20 round tight end premium type leagues here where you got to go for a guy like this. But
49:04>> I love it though. This is this is my this is my wheelhouse, too. I love this type of stuff.
49:08>> Yeah. Being single. I mean, because here's the thing. There are tight ends plenty of times that have come from like
49:12tight end 30 to finish top five. John Smith, man, nobody was drafted him.
49:16Logan Thomas converted quarterback.
49:18What? Like it happens all the time, guys. So, let me tell you a little. Let me paint a little picture for you. Let's
49:24take the Seattle Seahawks here, okay?
49:27And they have one top target getter in Jackson Smith and Jigba. After that, you got a couple field stretchery type guys
49:35in Rasheed Shahed and Tory Horton. And then you have Cooper Cup, the uh onfield coach who probably is just gonna be like
49:43a part-time slot guy. They have an inline tight end that people seem to like. AJ Barner. For me, this guy does
49:48not check pretty much any of the boxes I like to see. This guy ran 85% of his routes from an inline spot. He blocked
49:56on 16.8% of his pass plays. Since I've been doing this, uh Graham, there's only been three tight ends to finish top five
50:02blocking on more than 15% of their pass plays. It was George KD in one year that he had multiple 70 yard touchdowns. It
50:10was and then before that you have to go all the way back to Rob Gronowski in like 2012 scored 11 touchdowns in 11
50:17games when he got hurt. And then the other guy is Julius Thomas in the year that Pton Manning set the record for
50:22touchdown passes. So when you were an inline player blocking on that level of pass plays, it's just the upside is so
50:29low. Barner is probably the biggest sell for me in Dynasty because there are people buying. There's a whole barnyard crew out there and I think I say give
50:36them what they want, right? What I picture here is what if uh Elijah Royo comes out and he actually is what they
50:44wanted him to be, which is a guy that plays a big slot tight end and also as they talked about when they drafted him,
50:50plays a little bit of split end, like he goes out and plays out wide and they kind of use him the way that Jawan
50:56Johnson was used by Clint Kubak. I know Clint Kubak's gone, but now Brian Flurry's coming in. What if AJ Barner ends up being the Cole KT,
51:05uh, Dawson Knox, last year's David Njoku, and Elijah Royal is the one that gets to be the Dawson Concincaid, Coloulston Lovelin, uh, Harold Fannon,
51:16Brock Bowers, you know, like what if that's how they want to do it? If if they're going to run heavy two tight end
51:21sets and Elijah Royo is the one that gets to play the good snaps. last year in week four, he actually got up to a
51:2760% route participation before being a rookie and being injured kind of derailed his season. So, yes, uh it's a very I mean, we're talking from the
51:37parking lot with this shot here, man.
51:38But we're but it's one of the few guys where I can say, okay, he could be the best passcatching tight end on his team.
51:44He probably skews towards the pass downs and there's a open spot to be the second target getter on this team after JSN.
51:53And what about contingent upside? We talk about contingent upside. Uh we talk about it all the time with guys like Terrence Ferguson. If if what happens if
52:01Nua or Devonte Adams go down? What what happens to Terence Ferguson? What happens if the one guy that catches passes for the Seahawks goes down? Now
52:09everybody's gonna have to do a little something. So there's a world where Elijah Royo surprises people and at the very least I think he's going to be a
52:16real problem for the AJ Barner truthers out there.
52:19>> Yeah, I'm I'm with you on your enthusiasm for Royo. I liked him quite a bit coming coming out as a prospect uh
52:26was definitely high on him. And then yeah, you mentioned Yeah, it's just like AJ Barner, you know, kind of blocking him all of last year, but they, you
52:32know, like you mentioned, they play two totally different positions. I also think that knee injury really like he had some momentum going into, you know,
52:39the playoffs and their playoff run. If he were able to stay healthy, I think he would, you know, probably be a guy who's
52:44picked would pick up a little more steam actually, uh, just because he was playing more. The the momentum was kind of building. That's typically what we
52:51see with rookie wide receivers. But yeah, I mean, prior to the injury, man, I mean, he was like kind of getting up
52:56there in terms of like his playing time and stuff. Was running around 40 50% of the routes, then he got hurt and uh
53:03yeah, just didn't play until the Super Bowl. But yeah, I like your aoyo call. I think it makes a ton of sense because,
53:09you know, Cooper Cup might be completely dust. Rasheed Shahid, I liked him quite a bit last season, but he got, you know,
53:14traded middle of the year, just never really seemed to fully figure it out. It does seem like that the number two
53:19target in this offense is completely wide open. So Elijah Royo, I'll have you earmarked for my FFPC drafts when I'm when I'm looking in the 19th 20th round.
53:27I've already got, you know, my two or three tight ends and I'm just looking for a stash. I like this call quite a
53:32bit by our guy Coupe. I'll keep it going and get us out of here. My deepest call to this is truly from the parking lot.
53:38Uh this is a player that I had kind of forgotten about until I started doing all my Bengals analysis for best
53:43baseball. It's Eric All. Eric all is coming back from another injury. He popped his ACL. He's had a number of injuries all throughout college. The guy
53:52has not really been able to stay healthy. But when he has been healthy and he has been on the field, he's been
53:57freaking awesome, dude. 2023, you got to rewind the clocks back all the way to 23, his last season at college. But you
54:04look at yards per route run, which has been super predictive of future tight end breakouts. You look at yards per route run, final season for all 2023.
54:12Yeah, it was Harold Fannon number one, Brock Bowers number two, Coloulston Lovelin number three. Then it was Eric Hall. Uh Eric Hall 2.6 yards per route
54:19run. He was fourth in that draft class.
54:23Excuse me, not in that draft class in that season among all tight ends in yards per route run. I'm looking at this
54:27from that angle. Like I think he's really good. I think he could be a really good player, but also he plays a
54:32totally different position than Mike Cassiki. Cassiki is going to play the slat snaps. All will play in line. And in, you know, in theory, yeah, you want
54:39your guy playing the slot snaps, but there's a chance Caseasiki might be dust, dude. He had, you know, he's 31 now. He had his chance last year with,
54:46you know, T. Higgins missing some more time. Gaseiki never really took advantage of it. He had 28 grabs for 307 yards in 13 games last year. He was
54:55completely worthless. All was kind of trending up in his rookie season as well before he got hurt. Uh, this is a
55:03extremely deep pick. Like, this guy is not being drafted into best ball. Uh he's gonna go probably undrafted in a lot of tight end premium leagues, but
55:11just someone to keep your mind uh just keep an eye on, keep your mind tuned towards, see what he does in training
55:15camp, see if he's fully healthy because I do think he's a legitimately good player, good prospect, and has a chance to be the number three target on this
55:24Bengals team that is going to throw a ton this year, man. Bengals might have to throw it 650 times.
55:29>> I was truly hoping you would pick a player that I was completely out on so we could find some find some
55:33disagreement. I know that's but I'm in, man. I'm in on Eric Hall. Here's the thing. You didn't do it. I have him in a
55:41Dynasty League. Uh, and actually have him in two. I have him in Justin Boon's International Dynasty League. Uh, and I'll tell you this guy, I mean, when you
55:50go and look at his usage in college, it wasn't all just inline. This guy was a true two-way guy. He did only 2.5% pass
55:58block rate, 56% wide receiver rate. You mentioned the yards for route run. Uh but right there with Brock Bowers, right? Bowowers was like 26
56:05>> 27 and then Yeah, he was 27 and then all was like 26, dude.
56:09>> Right. He was right there and he just got hurt, man. Like he was he's been hurt. He had the back. He had the ACL.
56:15But what if this guy comes out and is just their >> their best two-way tight end and they want to use three wide receiver sets.
56:22That that does happen. That's like if you want to make a case for Barner, that's the case is you say like, "Okay,
56:26this guy is just the best two-way tight end. He's going to be used like George KD, Tucker Craft." You know, people were
56:31worried about Luke Musgrave with Tucker Craft. He just they didn't want to use two tight ends. And if this guy proves
56:36to be the guy, then that solves all the problems that the Bengals have because the Bengals quietly are spending like the 11th most money on the position and
56:44they're not getting much out of it. Drew Sample is he's almost like a hybrid fullback, right? Like he >> he's like a Davis Allen type, you know?
56:53Yeah.
56:53>> Right. He he played like you look at uh a guy like Kyle Youchek, right? Kyle played like 175 snaps in the back field.
57:01Drew Sample played 120. They just basically on third downs, they know their protection's bad and they just say, "Sample, just stand here in the
57:09just stand here in the back.
57:10>> Be a body. Get in the way.
57:12>> Just get in the way of somebody for a second so you can throw it up for grabs." But I think this team, much like
57:17the Colts, would be better off if they just found an inline two-way tight end to be their version of Brenton Strange
57:25or Kate or Tyler Warren. And maybe Eric All is the solution to that. And if he's not, I think it's time for them to
57:31finally fend up and do something there.
57:33But I think that's been a huge problem for them is that like everybody know when you put Moseki in the game,
57:37everyone knows what you're doing.
57:39>> Y >> right.
57:39>> They're not running the ball. That's >> No, it's insane. It's a dead giveaway.
57:44It's like >> they It's okay to have tendencies, but if you know what they are, and I think that they just they don't realize that
57:51like when Mikey or Tanner Hudson is in the game, there's no deception. And if you had an inline guy and could roll
57:58three wide receivers, they'd be better off for it. So, uh, he's like one of the the last great mystery boxes. He's like
58:04the Marshon Lloyd of tight ends, right?
58:06Like, >> nobody's seen him, bro. Nobody knows.
58:10He's a mythical figure.
58:12>> He's a mythical. Is he even real? Do we even know if this player is even real?
58:16>> We don't know. But we're hopeful, though. It's like a It's a positive one.
58:19He's like the East like, >> dude, that's that is a great comp. The Marshon Lloyd of tight ends. Hopefully both cuz I love Lloyd coming out too. I
58:27loved all as a prospect. Hopefully we get a little Marshon Lloyd and Eric all experience this year just just for it
58:33the one the one big play that they have all season. It'll be glorious and it'll be super justified for all this talk.
58:39>> Derek Derek Brown would he would uh he would rise up into the heavens if those two players broke out.
58:46>> Lose his mind, dude.
58:48>> Hey Coupe, this has been awesome stuff.
58:4910 Darkhorse League winners. We got a tight hour on some great tight end talk.
58:53a little bit of all, you know, little bit of everything talking through these Darkhorse League winners, but also just where this position is at. I think it's
58:59deeper than it's ever been, dude. I think uh you look at the draft classes the last two years. This is way the
59:04league is trending. There's been way more tight ends drafted over the last couple years compre compared to the previous couple years. Uh it's a copycat
59:11league. We see this every year with uh you know, teams at the forefront of some some new innovation. and Shawn McVey has
59:17been at the forefront using multiple tight end sets and I think we're going to see a lot more of that this coming
59:22year which probably means we're going to have some tight end breakouts uh beyond well beyond you know tight end 1580p coupe. You kind of said this a few times
59:29but this is one of the reoccurring themes in fantasy football is that you're going to have not just one but probably multiple late round tight ends
59:36that hit uh beyond like a 150 160 ADP.
59:39they come out of nowhere and it does lend itself towards in reddraft leagues if you do just completely punt the position. You can probably if you're
59:47sharp enough on the waiverwire, you can probably just reverse engineer a top 10, top 12 season just by correctly identifying either early season
59:54breakouts or training camp breakouts.
59:57And hopefully we helped you in that regard today. This has been fantastic.
