Aaron Rodgers

PositiveProjection25:03

Aaron Rodgers is a recommended streaming quarterback with 42% ownership; he has recorded 11 passing touchdowns over the last four weeks, the most in the NFL, while averaging 270 passing yards per game. He benefits from a soft upcoming matchup against the Saints, who play man coverage at a bottom-three rate, a scheme against which Rodgers' yards per attempt nearly doubles.

Insight page

Alvin Kamara

NegativeInjury30:53

Alvin Kamara is dealing with a back injury, but medical expert Jeff Mueller expects him to play in the upcoming week.

Insight page

Antonio Williams

NegativeBreakout26:59

Williams is a speculative waiver wire watch-list candidate following the potential season-ending injury to Terry McLaurin; the source notes he has failed to produce in previous opportunities when teammates were out, but highlights a positive comparison to Amon-Ra St. Brown from a colleague.

Insight page

Baker Mayfield

NegativeValue17:46

Baker Mayfield is a viable streaming option owned in 24% of leagues with a favorable upcoming schedule against Carolina, Atlanta, and Chicago. While he averages 19.2 fantasy points per game over the last three years—outperforming Dak Prescott and Matthew Stafford—the source expresses concern regarding his current thumb injury, poor early-season performance, and ranks him in the 'D-tier' behind Aaron Rodgers, JJ, and Kyler Murray.

Insight page

Bo Nix

NegativeProjection8:46

The source prefers other rookie quarterbacks, specifically JJ McCarthy, over Bo Nix in a current 2024 class redraft scenario.

Insight page

Chase Brown

NegativeUsage45:20

Chase Brown has struggled with inefficiency this season, leading to concerns about his workload as Samaje Perine eats into his touches. The source notes that Cincinnati's bye week prevented any clarity on the backfield split, but remains concerned that Brown's role is shrinking; he is viewed as a negative for fantasy rather than an impact player, and his handcuff value is contingent on injury.

Insight page

CJ Donaldson

NegativeRole31:53

CJ Donaldson is utilized as a hybrid fullback/halfback for the Saints, playing roughly 50% of his snaps at each position.

Insight page

Dak Prescott

NegativeProjection18:57

The source uses Dak Prescott as a statistical benchmark, noting that Baker Mayfield has averaged 1.1 more fantasy points per game than Prescott over the last three years.

Insight page

Davis Allen

PositiveRole35:45

Scott Barrett identifies Davis Allen as a high-upside target in the Rams offense, noting his fantasy points per route run double without Davante Adams. He projects Allen as the team's potential number two receiver, making him an 'S-tier' waiver add for those needing tight end help.

Insight page

Drake Maye

PositiveProjection8:40

The source considers Drake Maye to be an awesome quarterback prospect and ranks him as the best in his 2024 class, acknowledging that previous takes favoring other rookies over him were likely incorrect.

Insight page

Dylan Sampson

PositiveBreakout60:30

Returning from IR, Sampson is a B-tier waiver target who could steal work from the inefficient Quinshon Judkins. While he is a slasher-type back rather than a bellcow, he offers more long-term upside than Roschon Johnson or Kendre Miller.

Insight page

J.J. McCarthy

NegativeBreakout3:41

McCarthy is a high-upside waiver target owned in only 2% of leagues. In limited action, he recorded 243 passing yards, 26 rushing yards, and a two-point conversion in less than a full fourth quarter. He is considered fantasy viable if starting due to his rushing upside, arm strength, and receiving weapons like Malik Nabers and Isaiah Likely. While he exhibits a high-risk, high-reward style with a high interception rate, the source notes his turnover-worthy throw rate is not as extreme as his interception numbers suggest and he benefits from a high-volume passing offense. In a 2024 class redraft scenario, the source prefers McCarthy over Jayden Daniels, Bo Nix, and Michael Penix Jr.

Insight page
PositiveSleeper10:13

J.J. McCarthy is considered fantasy viable as a streaming option if he starts, due to his rushing upside, arm strength, and receiving weapons like Malik Nabers and Isaiah Likely.

Insight page

Jameis Winston

NegativeProjection6:45

The source uses Winston as a statistical benchmark for inefficiency, specifically citing his 5.2 yards per attempt as a negative comparison point. He is characterized as the archetype for the 'Jameis Winston experience,' defined by high-risk play and turnover-prone tendencies.

Insight page

Jameson Williams

NegativeUsage12:28

Despite recording zero drops in his most recent game, the source remains critical of Jameson Williams' overall performance, specifically citing poor route running and a drop rate that is unfavorably compared to Matias Bukinger.

Insight page

Jayden Daniels

NegativeProjection8:46

The source prefers other rookie quarterbacks, specifically JJ McCarthy, over Jayden Daniels in a current 2024 class redraft scenario.

Insight page

Jordan Whittington

PositiveBreakout38:57

Scott Barrett highlights Jordan Whittington as an 'A-tier' waiver target due to his 67% route share in weeks two and three without Adams. While acknowledging he may be 'dead roster space' long-term, his potential to serve as the Rams' number two receiver provides massive theoretical upside.

Insight page

Justice Hill

NegativeRole61:51

Hill is used as a historical comparison for the specific pass-catching role Dylan Sampson was initially slated to fill in Todd Monken's offense.

Insight page

Kendre Miller

PositiveValue29:47

Kendre Miller is a low-priority waiver target (D-tier or 1-2% FAAB) available in 66% of leagues. Despite a 20-carry workload, he ranks 53rd of 55 running backs in yards after contact per attempt and faces a potential return of Alvin Kamara, which limits his upside. The source suggests letting someone else pick him up and notes he has less long-term upside than Dylan Sampson.

Insight page

Kyler Murray

NegativeValue11:43

Owned in 51% of leagues, Murray is on the border of waiver wire relevance. The source expresses skepticism about his long-term outlook despite a favorable upcoming matchup against the Colts. He is currently ranked as a streaming option behind Aaron Rodgers and JJ McCarthy, but ahead of Baker Mayfield.

Insight page

Matthew Stafford

NegativeProjection18:57

The source uses Matthew Stafford as a statistical benchmark, noting that Baker Mayfield has averaged 1.5 more fantasy points per game than Stafford over the last three years.

Insight page

Michael Penix Jr.

NegativeProjection8:46

The source prefers other rookie quarterbacks, specifically JJ McCarthy, over Michael Penix Jr. in a current 2024 class redraft scenario.

Insight page

Mike Washington Jr.

NegativeUsage70:51

Mike Washington saw increased involvement in the running game during the recent Raiders game, recording only one fewer carry than Ashen Genty. Despite his explosive potential—evidenced by three career runs of 18+ yards—the source views him as a run-of-the-mill handcuff with limited upside, likely stuck in a committee role without significant passing-down work.

Insight page

Omar Cooper Jr.

NegativeValue50:13

Cooper is a waiver wire target currently owned in 4% of leagues, though no specific performance analysis is provided by the source.

Insight page

Rachaad White

NegativeUsage24:59

The source views White as a B-tier waiver target, noting that while he is not particularly talented, his role as a pass-catching back in a high-scarcity position makes him valuable; he is currently competing for touches with Austin Ekeler in a struggling offense.

Insight page

RJ Harvey

PositiveUsage46:02

The source identifies Harvey as Denver's primary pass-catching running back and effectively their wide receiver one, noting he is a significant competitor for targets in the offense.

Insight page

Roschon Johnson

NegativeUsage64:13

Roschon Johnson saw a significant workload in the fourth quarter, but the source suggests this was likely due to the team's quick turnaround for a Thursday night game rather than a permanent shift in role. While he lacks the long-term upside of players like Dylan Sampson, the source prefers Johnson as a safer spot-start option for fantasy managers in need of immediate help.

Insight page

Samaje Perine

NegativeUsage65:29

Perine is 5% owned and saw his workload increase to roughly half the backfield share last week, out-carrying Chase Brown. The source remains skeptical of his standalone value, viewing him primarily as a handcuff whose presence is a negative for Brown's fantasy outlook.

Insight page

Tank Dell

NegativeBust27:53

The source is bearish on Dell's fantasy outlook, citing injury experts who believe he suffered a career-ending injury and will never be the same; additionally, he faces a crowded wide receiver room in Houston that includes Nico Collins and Marvin Harrison Jr.

Insight page

Terrance Ferguson

PositiveBreakout23:36

The source ranks Ferguson in the A-tier for waiver wire targets, citing his massive upside as a potential number two receiver in a Sean McVay offense; he is noted for his recent breakout performance of eight targets, 93 yards, and a score.

Insight page

Travis Etienne

NegativeInjury31:11

Medical expert Jeff Mueller projects that Travis Etienne will return to action by week nine.

Insight page

Tyler Higbee

NegativeUsage37:13

Scott Barrett notes that while Davis Allen was injured, Tyler Higbee operated as the primary tight end, maintaining a 70% route share and averaging roughly seven targets and 12.6 fantasy points per game.

Insight page

Tyler Warren

NegativeValue38:47

Scott Barrett uses Tyler Warren as a benchmark for tight end rankings, suggesting that anyone currently starting a tight end ranked below Warren should prioritize adding Davis Allen.

Insight page

Tyrone Tracy

NegativeUsage47:40

Tracy is currently trapped in a four-man running back committee in Baltimore. The source describes the situation as a 'hot hand' approach where no player has earned significant or consistent playing time.

0:00Week 7 waiver wire, we are breaking down the names, the strategy, and everything you need to know here on Fantasy Football Daily with Brett and Scott.
0:10>> [music] >> Are you serious?
0:15>> [music] >> What?
0:18>> [laughter] >> That's awesome.
0:19>> That's so sick.
0:22>> [music] >> Hey, if you're a returning subscriber, you already know what makes [music] this the best fantasy football show on the

0:35notifications so you never miss an upload from Scott or myself, Brett Whitefield. Scott, we're in week seven.
0:42We're a third of the way through the season. That is in That's It's insane. I feel like we do this every year though,
0:48where we like talk about how fast it's going and then all of a sudden the season ends. But I really do think it's
0:53moving faster this year, and that's probably because you and I have to do a daily show. I shouldn't say have to. We
0:57get to do a daily show.
0:59Uh and I feel like that's made it just fly by. It's like we have a very rigid schedule of recording and prepping
1:06for shows, and it's like feel like I'm always chasing my tail, man.
1:10>> Yeah, very busy, uh but enjoying it, having fun, you know, time flies when you're having a Hey, I like that shirt.
1:16>> Ooh, yeah, it's a good shirt. It's a good shirt.
1:18>> Fantasy Point shirt. Where did you get that?
1:21>> Ooh, from uh that was part of the swag bag you sent me. You know?
1:25>> to fantasypoints.com and then you click on more in the top.
1:31More [snorts] shop, and that's where you go. Uh we take like zero profit on it. It and we have really high-quality
1:40um fibers. I don't know what the word is for that, but um >> Yeah, it's very soft.
1:45>> Yeah, yeah. And And with zero profit, we just think it's cool if you want to do like free advertising for us, and it We
1:51think it looks good, so >> Yeah.
1:53>> check check out that.
1:54>> Um this this one in particular is really good for I don't know why but like wicking sweat. I'm serious. Like I'll go
2:01play a full soccer game in this baby and it it dries really fast.
2:04>> Yeah, it looks uh maybe a size too small on you, Brett.
2:07>> Oh, I you know I I I like my stuff tight.
2:09>> Hey.
2:09>> That's [laughter] uh it's a personal problem. I'm sorry, but Actually, when I first got it it was loose, but then I washed it and dried it
2:17and it shrunk quite a bit. So, think about that when you're buying one.
2:20All right, let's dive right into it. We got QBs. We get to talk about my boy again.
2:24J.J. McCarthy, Scott.
2:27The prodigal son.
2:30Week seven.
2:32What was the prediction all along, Scott?
2:35>> Week seven, he was going to start was the prediction.
2:37>> Yeah, that was my prediction.
2:38Before the Giants even made the trade, that was my prediction, which is funny.
2:41Now, it's not official he's not like officially starting yet. We still don't know, but he's only owned in 2% of leagues.
2:48He's got uh Houston coming.
2:51And then a bye week and then Philly.
2:54How bullish are you on J.J. McCarthy? I love that I uh I get to have this conversation with you.
3:00>> I don't know, man. I'll let you take this one and I'll really like not try and rein you in too much. This is your
3:06boy.
3:08Um he played less than a full quarter and he had 243 passing yards. And he had 26 rushing yards. And he had a two-point
3:17conversion. All in less than a full fourth quarter. Nearly led the team back from this, you know, tremendous uh blowout. Uh and yeah, he looked amazing.
3:27Like you look at the highlight reel that was circulating on Twitter. Dude was balling out. He was ripping it. It was
3:32like 100 miles an hour the ball coming out, but he was also layering the throws.
3:36Um and so like should I believe? Like maybe it's possible Brett wasn't wrong. Brett's all-time biggest miss was J.J. McCarthy and maybe he's not wrong. Maybe J.J.
3:48McCarthy's kind of nice. Certainly a nice setup here where the Giants are throwing the ball like 50 times a game and yeah you the stats you see it here
3:58on this he had 243 passing yards in less than a full quarter that was you know more than any Vikings quarterback in any game this year nearly
4:06he had 11.6 yards per attempt Winston shook were at 5.2 so like less than half that and you see it on the screen here I
4:15thought this is hilarious is like you know the Jameis Winston experience is a thing historically JJ McCarthy is even more Jameis Winston than Jameis Winston you
4:26look at it by hero throw rate you just put it back on the screen for a second hero throw rate easily first easily for
4:34and like no one else comes close but then by interception rate he's also easily worst him and Shudder Sanders and Tua then no
4:43one else comes close to that and so yeah >> that's some of that's unlucky though right cuz his hero his turnover worthy
4:48throw rate wasn't the highest.
4:50>> Yeah wasn't that bad it was still pretty bad though it was still like nearly Will Levis territories.
4:57>> You know Scott this guy I just love him I love me some do you know what it is my man just needs to be
5:02challenged you know he needs that difficult tight window throw or he needs to rip a go ball it's like those those
5:09short throws he just doesn't care about that you know it's like he needs to be challenged.
5:13Uh no I'm kidding I >> [sighs] >> I think it may you know obviously like my general take that he was the best QB
5:22in the class is is probably wrong Drake May is awesome Caleb Williams is trending in the right direction I'd still take him over Jayden Daniels
5:29Bo Nix and Michael Penix though.
5:32Gun to my head right now if we're doing redrafting that class I'd still take him over those guys so but that said
5:41what are we doing with fantasy are we waiting till we get news or is it is it too late if you wait or do you just go
5:46do it right now do you pick him up right now?
5:47>> Well, I I I He Listen, he's minus 250 to start this week. I I think they're I think he's almost a a lock to start. I
5:55would be so shocked if he didn't start.
5:57So, like with that assumption, it's still like are you adding this guy?
6:02Like do you really see the upside for him to be a a true difference maker?
6:07>> Yeah. I mean, Jameis is putting up fantasy numbers, right?
6:11>> The last couple Well, the last couple of weeks, yeah, and before that.
6:14>> Right. And and McCarthy's got the the rushing upside. He's got a massive arm.
6:18He's got Malik Nabers and Isaiah Likely.
6:21Regardless of what you think about J.J.
6:22McCarthy, there's no way you can't convince me he's he's not fantasy viable if he's starting.
6:27>> Well, define fantasy viable. It >> Stream Like you said yeah on yesterday's show, stream >> matchups.
6:32>> Streaming in the right matchups. Yeah, maybe don't go play him against Houston that's trending up. That's probably not a good idea.
6:36>> bye right after that. So, so there's no way >> In the in the state Philly's in, that's a great spot to start him.
6:43>> Okay, but that's multiple weeks away and this is >> Yeah.
6:45>> week seven waiver show.
6:47>> Correct. Correct.
6:49I see what you're saying. So, from from that standpoint, yes, I got I got you. I follow.
6:54D-tier. D-tier's fine with that. Just because quarterbacks are they're available. You you can stream other guys for now, you know.
7:03Cool. I'm fine with that.
7:05Kyler Murray still I mean, he's breaking the rule. He's he's owned in over half the leagues, 51%, but it's right on the
7:11border, so we should talk about him.
7:14Uh Two of his next three matchups though are tough. Denver's defense also trending up, playing better finally, despite Bo Nix. Um
7:23Seattle's defense, I think, has a lot more in the tank.
7:27Dallas defense though stinks, so Are you buying the Kyler Murray thing? I mean, I'm still not really a believer. I think I'd rather have three of the four
7:35quarterbacks that we're going to talk about, but >> Yeah, well, we we kind of or at least I kind of hyped him up a
7:42little bit heading into this by Yeah, he was he was on by last week. Oh, crazy stat for you, Brett.
7:49You're not going to believe this.
7:50Jameson Williams had zero drops last week.
7:53>> That's crazy.
7:55>> Cuz the Lions were also on by Vikings on by and and yeah, so I was I was kind of bullish. Why? Because the week before we
8:04saw signs of life, you know, he he was kind of disadvantaged by wasn't able to play with Justin Jefferson and this game
8:10he didn't have T.J. Hawkinson. He didn't have Jordan Addison.
8:13And he had 10 carries for 51 rushing yards. He had only six incompletions on 30 attempts.
8:21>> Mhm.
8:22>> And he looked kind of good, right? And so this was the thesis heading into the off season is that you know, Kevin O'Connell's this
8:29quarterback whisperer. Kyler Murray, he runs. He was always productive at least up until Call of Duty drops, which I believe is still two weeks away Friday.
8:40>> Yeah.
8:40>> Okay. Okay. Well, he does have a great match up this week. He's up against the Colts who are giving up the seventh most
8:45fantasy points per game to quarterbacks, but you have to balance that with Call of Duty dropping >> does the show sheet say Denver?
8:54>> Uh >> I can't even trust the show sheet now, is that what you're telling me?
9:00>> Uh-oh.
9:01>> Now I'm mad.
9:05You're right. It is it is the Colts. It is the Colts. So.
9:08>> So, I I don't know what happened there, but yeah, here's the thing though. I feel like J.J. McCarthy balling out makes me more
9:16pessimistic in Kyler Murray, right? It was like Kevin O'Connell's still the guy. He just McCarthy sucks.
9:22And now and now you're you're questioning that.
9:25>> I think it's a >> In less than a full quarter, he basically had more passing yards than any Vikings quarterback has had
9:32in what? 10 games?
9:34>> Yeah, J.J. McCarthy's on pace for over a thousand passing yards a game right now.
9:39>> Damn. Look at that.
9:40>> Isn't that crazy?
9:42>> Yeah.
9:43Yeah. Uh D-tier?
9:45>> I hate on pace for stats so much because >> Oh, I know. I That's why I use them in like comedic fashion.
9:52>> Yeah, I know.
9:52>> He's not actually on pace for 1,000 yards a game.
9:54>> We're going to do another D-tier.
9:56>> Yeah, I like D-tier.
9:59>> He has a great match-up this week if you want to stream him, but you know, maybe he's going to pull a Jalen Hurts and not
10:05sleep all weekend because uh >> Ooh, don't. No, no, no.
10:08>> No No Call of Duty cuz Call of Duty comes out.
10:12>> That's probably actually true. That's actually probably No, don't edit that out. That's That's a great call.
10:16>> Yeah. Okay.
10:17>> Yeah, he Call of Duty drops Friday.
10:19>> Jalen Jalen Hurts didn't sleep at all and played in London because he's a warrior. Kyler Murray isn't going to sleep all weekend and he's going to play
10:27football because >> He's a warrior.
10:30>> No, he's a play He's a warrior in the game.
10:33It's a first-person shooter.
10:35>> Yeah. Yeah, he's a shooter.
10:37>> Yeah.
10:37Maybe C-tier cuz the match-up.
10:40>> Well, all right. Well, maybe we could revisit when we're done with quarterbacks cuz cuz we got >> Okay. Okay, fine.
10:46Yeah, if you want to start stubby Baker Mayfield, then sure.
10:49>> Why is he stubby?
10:50>> Cuz he's dumb. Stubby's dumb.
10:53>> Okay.
10:55>> Baker Mayfield's next on the list. He's owned in 24% of leagues, which means he is widely available to you if you'd like
11:00to play him against the Carolina Panthers, whose defense stinks.
11:03>> Yeah, they're giving up the eighth most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks.
11:06Um Tom Pelissero, go ahead.
11:09>> You actually had that match-up right.
11:10Thank you.
11:12>> Sure.
11:13Tom Pelissero reported optimism that Baker Mayfield plays this week. Jeff Miller agrees there's a chance.
11:20Um and he doesn't just have a friendly match-up this week, but his next three are Carolina, Atlanta, Chicago.
11:27And so, I'm thinking about two things.
11:29One, he averages 19.2 fantasy points per game over the last 3 years. That's despite playing through a bajillion injuries.
11:3819.2 fantasy points per game is 1.1 more than Dak Prescott, 1.5 more than Kyler, Matthew Stafford. And so there's there's that. And he has a a
11:48nice little stretch of schedule here.
11:51But you have to counterbalance that, Brett, with what you told me is week one, week two.
11:56It's like he stinks. He looks lost. I don't know what happened to him. And so again, this is another one where I'm
12:02going to lean heavy on your film expertise.
12:06>> The time he hurt his thumb, he was playing very bad football. I I'm not going to assume he's going to be better
12:11with a messed up thumb.
12:14I don't think his thumb will just be 100%. You ever dislocated a finger?
12:18>> No.
12:18>> Okay, I do it all the time.
12:20>> Why? That's stupid.
12:21>> Jiu-jitsu.
12:22>> Oh.
12:23>> It literally happens every third training session, right? It's like it's it's not 100% for a long time.
12:31Like if I went to throw a football right now, I couldn't, you know? I'm not a I'm not a quarterback, but like
12:36you get what I'm saying? Like it's it's going to be a lingering issue, I think.
12:39>> You want to you want to tell the listeners what kind of belt you are?
12:42>> No, I don't want to talk about that.
12:44>> You want to tell them what happened last time we were in the same room together?
12:49Put you in a Boston crab real quick.
12:51>> Yeah.
12:52>> [snorts] >> Flying flying omoplata real quick.
12:57>> I'm fairly confident I could submit you with my hands tied behind my back.
13:02>> [laughter] >> I say that like completely dead serious, 100% serious.
13:07But >> I could I could submit you if I were Matthias Buchinger. How about that?
13:13>> I'd love I'd love to give it a shot.
13:16>> You You want to know why I went on a 15-minute rant about Matthias Buchinger?
13:21>> So I stop underestimating you?
13:23>> So I could have a new Jameis Winston count.
13:26>> Those there's there were some gold comments >> Jameson Jameson Williams runs routes like Mathias Buchegger.
13:31Jameson Williams has a worse drop rate than Mathias Buchegger.
13:35>> Yeah, there were some Marvin Harrison Jr. jokes in there, too.
13:38It's pretty funny.
13:41Um I >> Yeah, maybe his real dad was Mathias Buchegger.
13:45>> Can I pick a completely random fight with you?
13:47>> Go ahead.
13:48>> We do this thing where we're looking ahead at schedules and we keep including Atlanta as like a soft defense to play.
13:54They're not >> Definitely not.
13:55>> They're not anymore, no.
13:56>> Why? What happened? What the >> been it's been true for like 4 weeks, but we keep saying it.
14:00>> Yeah.
14:01>> Their pass rush?
14:02>> Pass rush is disgusting. They're They've given up the So, they've seen the most dropbacks against them in the league. So, I think their passing yards
14:10allowed stats look a little inflated.
14:13But, uh the the those have been some wild game scripts where like if you actually look at like yards per attempt
14:18allowed and incomplete force incompletion rate like they're actually pretty solid. They're not like a great defense, but they're not they're Definitely not. We're not picking on
14:26them like we are Carolina and Chicago, if you know what I mean.
14:29>> Yeah.
14:29>> And by the way, Chicago's played two No, sorry. Chicago's played like one really good defensive game in a row now.
14:36>> [laughter] >> But, anyways, small small sidebar there on Atlanta's defense. I I have to I have to remind myself to stop saying that cuz
14:44I keep saying oh, they play Atlanta.
14:46That's But, they're Atlanta's pretty good, so.
14:49Defensively.
14:50>> Yeah.
14:51Yeah, they're giving up the 13th most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks with the >> Yeah, that's not like a >> strength of schedule.
14:58>> It's not a pick on defense, though.
15:01And and a lot of that is volume related.
15:02Like I said, they've they've seen the most dropbacks in the NFL against, so.
15:08Aaron Rodgers, 42% owned.
15:13Oh, we didn't we didn't rank Baker, sorry.
15:15Baker.
15:16>> D tier.
15:17>> D tier.
15:20Um Aaron Rodgers.
15:22He's got Orleans, Cleveland, and then the bye week.
15:28New Orleans is giving up a ton defensively this year.
15:32>> Yeah, he he has 11 passing touchdowns over the last 4 weeks. No one else has more than 10.
15:39He averages 20 >> Jared Goff had a bye week, but >> He averages 270 passing yards per game over this span. It's pretty good.
15:46>> Yeah.
15:46>> And he's he is not even like particularly playing all that well.
15:50He In addition to the soft match-up with the Saints, Saints play man at a bottom-three rate.
15:57>> Mhm.
15:58>> Rodgers' yards per pass attempt like nearly doubles against zone uh over the last 2 years, so I kind of like that.
16:06>> I like it, too.
16:08We have Jeremy Bernard emerging.
16:11Right? Did you see Rodgers >> We do, but he >> Yeah.
16:15What?
16:15>> He did lose Roman Wilson and Michael Pittman, or maybe that's a good thing to lose Michael Pittman, the state he was in.
16:22>> Yeah, but he I think he really likes Bernard. He had more positive things to say about him yesterday.
16:26>> Again and again, I know. I know.
16:28>> Yeah.
16:29>> He's like the anti-Jeff Janice.
16:31>> Okay, among these four, who would you most like to play this week? Cuz I think that is really matters for this
16:36conversation. Cuz it is quarterback, after all. We are We're talking about these guys in the context of streaming.
16:42>> I I would have it Rodgers, but honestly, it's it's really just going to come down to if you ever Chris [laughter] prefers.
16:47He's He's been He's been nailing the QB projections this year.
16:52>> I'd go Rodgers, JJ, Kyler, Baker.
16:55So, should we go Rodgers C-tier?
16:57>> Yeah.
16:58>> Okay.
17:00Boom. And then pay attention to the projections.
17:03Scott, you know what this week is?
17:07>> Is it your birthday? Happy birthday, Brat.
17:10>> It's It's not my birthday. It's actually better than my birthday.
17:13It's free week.
17:15>> than your birthday?
17:16>> It's free week with Fantasy Points Data.
17:18>> Whoa.
17:19>> Data Suite 2.0 is completely free this week.
17:23You know what's crazy? Our goal with Fantasy Points Data when we started it, it was pretty ambitious. We wanted to build a football analytics engine as
17:30good as, if not better than what NFL teams use.
17:33>> That's really ambitious. For a little old fantasy football site to be better than the PFFs of the world.
17:41>> It doesn't end It doesn't end there though.
17:43>> Oh.
17:43>> That was just part one of our ambition our ambition our mission. Part two was to make it less than $200 a year.
17:51>> That's crazy. Why would you make something that should be your your closest competitors $200,000 a year and you're charging 1/1000?
17:59>> I ask our CEO that all the time. Why why did we make it so cheap?
18:03But hey, with Data Suite 2.0, I'm pretty sure we accomplished both things on the mission card.
18:08But don't just take our word for it.
18:10We'll let you be the judge. This week, we're giving everyone free access. All you have to do is go to fantasypoints.com, create a free
18:17account, and then head over to fantasypointsdata.com and see what you've been missing. No payment required, no strings attached, just the best football data on the
18:26planet free all week long.
18:29>> Yeah, it's a it's a little inefficient.
18:31Listen, we're not going to ask for a credit card or anything, but you have to go to fantasypoints.com, make a free
18:35account, you go to log in or sign in, whatever that is, and then click create an account.
18:40>> Yeah.
18:40>> I I don't think we're going to do anything. Maybe maybe we email you, but then you can just opt out of it. I don't
18:44really know how that works, but >> Well, yeah, let's just let's just let's just be honest.
18:49Let's just be honest. We want your email so we can continue to talk to you after you you do the free trial.
18:55>> I just don't know if there's an option to like opt out of emails or if we just automatically enter you into the email
18:59thing.
19:00>> Do we even send emails, Scott? I mean, that's >> [laughter] >> Well, well, you get access to the newsletter. So, we have a twice weekly
19:07newsletter that's actually awesome and like really valuable and and fun.
19:11Um and then uh yeah, so you just create account at fantasypoints.com and then you go to a separate URL fantasypointsdata.com.
19:19Just the only way we can get this this launched, uh, but it is it is legitimately really sick. Like if you're
19:25a serious better, uh, you have access to fantasypointsdata or you're you're messing up. You're screwing up.
19:32Um, and if you're like a serious fantasy player or you just love NFL analytics, like you are massively behind the eight ball
19:40if you don't already have a sub or or you don't know how to use this thing.
19:43>> Yeah, another note too is like we're always updating and making it better.
19:46Like we have tools, future tools planned that are mind-blowing already that are in development, things that we are working on, date new data we're
19:55collecting that's not even in there yet that's going to blow your mind. So like Think about like for example, like reverse ass, you know what I mean?
20:03>> [laughter] >> Like there'll be a day reverse ass is in the data suite where we have cornerback ass. How much ass is a cornerback
20:08allowing?
20:10You know? Is he getting his ass beat?
20:13>> [laughter] >> These are questions we can answer. So.
20:15>> Man, the puns are unlimited. I I really do enjoy these. I know they're not for everyone, but >> Yeah.
20:24>> [music] >> What's up, guys? Scott Barrett here flying solo. We've got a little update
20:34for you. We record Monday mornings to to work with Brett's schedule, uh, and so obviously uh, a lot of news tends to come out
20:45directly after that, which requires an update. So uh, I'm recording solo right now halfway through Monday Night Football. Listen, if you if you want us
20:53to record live, a lot of people requesting that, if you guys want us to uh, record late at night, so you know,
21:00everything is super fresh, uh, you need to do your part. You need to like, comment, subscribe, tell your friends.
21:08Uh the bigger the show is, the more resources we have to throw at it. So, you know, we could do it all. This is a
21:15trial run. If you guys like the Brett and Scott show, we can double, triple down on it, but you guys got to do your
21:20part. But, I'm here, you know, trying to make the best of this situation.
21:25And so, we got multiple key pieces of news. We got Devante Adams out, probably 10 weeks.
21:31We have Jacory Crosskey Merritt added to IR. We have Terry McLaurin carted off the field.
21:40There's a lot of There's a lot of stuff going on. So, uh we'll go one by one.
21:45Terrence Ferguson Uh here's a nice little stat for you.
21:48Yeah, I know he's he's he's out, but he's coming back. Uh stat for you, his fantasy points per route run doubles without Devante Adams on the
21:57field.
21:59Week one you know, he didn't do much. I don't think that game counts.
22:05The Rams rolled off the plane you know, right before the game started, and they were incredibly sloppy. Week two that was Ferguson's sort of breakout
22:15game.
22:16He had nine targets, a 29% target share, 60 yards and a score on a 67% route share.
22:24It's about 17.4 fantasy points on 19.0 XFP. That's Those Those are great numbers. And then he gets hurt week three.
22:32And so, week three through six, it's like the Higbee show. Higbee had a 70% route share. Averaged just about seven targets per game, 59 yards per game,
22:4112.6 fantasy points per game. That's like tight end seven numbers. And so, anyway, I I just think Terrence Ferguson's the guy. I think they really like him. I
22:50think he has a ton of upside.
22:52I think more likely than not, now without Adams, he is the team's number two receiver. And so, being the number two receiver
22:59in a Sean McVay offense is massive.
23:02This is an S tier. I don't want to hear, "Oh, you know, it could be this gross three-way tight end rotation." Now, it absolutely
23:09could. It's not the most important thing.
23:12Most important thing is he has a clear pathway of being the number two receiver in a Sean McVay offense. That is a
23:18fantasy bonanza, clear S tier.
23:22Um you know, if you're if you're set at the tight end position, then whatever, it's a B tier. But if if you know you're
23:27you're trotting out anyone below the Tyler Warren line, he's uh he's an S tier to me. Um But then there's also Kanada Mumfield,
23:39right? And so weeks two and three without Adams, Mumfield had about a 67% route share in both games.
23:48Easily second most on the team, but he was behind two tight ends in raw targets.
23:53He kind of did nothing the first game, and then the second game was sort of his breakout. He had eight targets, 93
23:59yards, and a score.
24:01I have to put this guy A or B tier.
24:04Um you know, more likely than not, he's dead roster space.
24:09But the most likely outcome isn't the most important outcome to consider. The most important one is the theoretical most impactful.
24:19And again, upside is massive.
24:21If you have a chance at being the number two receiver in a Sean McVay offense, I think it's Terrace Ferguson. But still,
24:29just the mere fact, you know, and you have this guy learning behind Davante Adams, learning how to run routes from you know, an all-time as God.
24:39Um Yeah, I I think this is an A tier. You know, it's I think more likely than not, like I said, he's
24:46is not going to be a contributor to your He's not going to make an impact to to whether or not you you make it to the
24:52championship, but uh still have to go A tier on a relatively gross waiver week.
24:59Rashad White I'm recording this halfway through Monday night football.
25:06And it's it's kind of hard to glean what this rotation looks like. Right now, he only has one carry, but guess what? All
25:11the other running backs on the team only have one carry.
25:14Uh last week, he did get 100% of the work after JCM went down.
25:19Um he's competing for touches with Austin Eckler.
25:24Am I wrong or did Austin Eckler not retire last year to become a fantasy football podcaster? Did that Did that not happen?
25:31That he had the exact same profession as me a year ago.
25:36Um this offense is dead, but starting running backs are a high scarcity asset.
25:46I think it's still probably a committee, you know, maybe maybe he goes nuclear in the second half of this game or
25:50something. I kind of doubt it. And you we did see in week four when White missed, it was still a four-way
25:55committee. You know, JCM didn't become the guy.
26:00I got to go B tier or A Yeah, B tier probably, but um you know, it's just it's just the fact
26:08that starting running backs are such a high scarcity asset. We've seen Rashad White who's not that talented be just like an inefficient
26:17bell cow who like put up fringe RB1 numbers cuz he is a a good pass catcher. He's he's going to get that role.
26:25And so, you know, Austin Eckler's washed. So, maybe maybe um A or B tier, I probably go B tier on that.
26:34Uh but if you're RB needy, you can you can bump him up a spot.
26:39Uh Antonio Williams, we had Terry McLaurin carted off.
26:43The injury experts are saying unfortunately high probability that was a season-ending patellar injury for him.
26:52Listen, I know we've done this already.
26:53You know, uh Week four Diggs McLaurin was out. Week five Diggs was out.
27:01And Williams didn't do anything.
27:03This offense, you know, the passing attack does not look good. It's all Jayden Daniels on the ground or nothing.
27:10But, you know, Brett loves him. And Brett is saying this is mini Amon-Ra.
27:16And so, you got to go A or B tier.
27:19What tier do you slide him into? It depends on what he does in the second half. If he does anything, you can put him in A tier.
27:26Right now, he's done nothing, just like he did nothing in week five, week four, but you know, I give Brett a lot of grief when he's,
27:34you know, across the screen in front of me, but he he really is amazing at at identifying these. Just like, oh no, he's good at ball.
27:42He's and then the guy wins leagues in the second half. So, you know, at a bare minimum, keep this guy on your waiver
27:47wire watch list.
27:49And then, Tank Dell is the last one we got to talk about. I hope I hope Trey the motion man did not cut it.
27:58We had a big debate, Brett and I, over Jaylen Noel.
28:02I was arguing against him.
28:04Brett was arguing for him. I even brought up Tank Dell. He's like, you got to stop talking about Tank Tank Dell.
28:08This guy's retired.
28:10And look at this.
28:12He's back. He might play the He looks like he's going to play this week. And so, I hope we left that in so I look
28:17good and Brett looks bad, which I think is funny.
28:19But, I think more likely than not, you know, the the upside argument for him is hey, we know if this guy is fully
28:26healthy, he's really good. And so, that's something we can't say about Can't Mumford. That's something we can't say about Rashad White or Antonio
28:34Williams. We know this guy, fully healthy, is awesome.
28:40Is he ever going to be fully healthy again? I don't think so. The injury experts very bearish. That was a probably career-ending injury. Never
28:49going to be the same again.
28:51And then beyond that, it's also, you know, the kind of the the point I was trying to make against Jaylen Nowell is
28:55it's it's becoming a crowded wide receiver room for a coach who loves his wide receiver rotations. You have Nico Collins the alpha.
29:05And now you just traded for Marvin Harrison Jr. and Jaylen Nowell is becoming a thing. And Tank Dell now, you know, might re-enter the fold, maybe. Um
29:17so I I think I think Tank Dell D tier, whatever. Whatever. Just keep an eye on him.
29:21Um but this definitely bumps Jaylen Nowell down. I think I let Brett tier him out in the A tier. Now he
29:29as you have to knock him down a spot.
29:31But anyway, this is the the update for you guys. Hope you enjoyed this.
29:36Um yeah, again, you know, tell your friends about fantasy football daily with Brett and Scott. Appreciate you.
29:44>> All right, running backs, Scott. We're going to hit some running backs here.
29:47Kendre Miller owned in 34% of leagues, which means he's available in 66%. I'm very good at math on the fly. This is This is
29:55incredible. It's why I home school my kids.
29:58Um where you at on Kendre Miller?
30:01>> Do you home school them on School of Scott? You should.
30:05You should make them all do a report on Matthias Buchinger after last week's lecture.
30:10>> So I did tell my wife to show the kids because it was a great >> I did, yeah.
30:16It was a great It was a great life lesson.
30:18>> For real. Yeah, for those who don't know, go to Friday's episode, start sit part two, all the way to the end. I delivered
30:26a a 15-part history lesson on an 18th-century magician who's near and dear to my heart.
30:32>> Uh number eight on your top 10 men of renown?
30:35>> That's right.
30:36>> And and personal heroes.
30:37>> Do you know who number one is?
30:39You You who No, you know who number three is?
30:42>> Me?
30:43>> It's you.
30:44>> Stop.
30:45You're too much.
30:46>> It's all right.
30:46>> You're too much. All right, what is >> [laughter] >> Can we talk Kendre Miller? Where we at with Kendre Miller?
30:52>> Uh yeah, let's let's do it. So Kamara has this back injury of sorts and so Kendre Miller stepped up. He had 20
31:02carries.
31:03Um but CJ Donaldson, is this guy a fullback Brett or is he a halfback?
31:09>> He's both, you know.
31:11>> Okay, he's one of those he's a Carson Steel.
31:13>> back plus full Yeah, Carson well, not not as much that like Carson Steel actually has some running back chops. I
31:20wouldn't say Donaldson does.
31:21>> Okay, well this this guy CJ Donaldson, whatever position he plays, he was still fairly involved kind of at you know,
31:27after Kamara's last play Kendre Miller had nine of 11 carries, three of three targets, 71% of the snaps. So actually, you know, it was it
31:35was pretty good.
31:37But that being said, Jeff Miller thinks Alvin Kamara plays this week. And then he thinks Travis Etienne comes back by week nine. And you
31:46have Kendre Miller who ranks 53rd of 55 running backs in yards after contact per attempt.
31:51I think Tom Rowley had Kendre as the the top running back target in kind of a gross running back week.
31:57I would rather just like I think you could let someone else kind of pick him up cuz I just don't see the upside with
32:03if Kamara plays this week and then and then at Etienne comes back week nine, right?
32:10>> Yeah. Yeah. I just checked by the way.
32:12He's He's actually playing 50/50. 50% fullback, 50% halfback.
32:16>> Interesting.
32:17>> I'm guessing as the emergency kind of guy, right? But he he's big. He was at Ohio State last year.
32:22>> You should know this guy.
32:25>> He had like 10 Well, yeah, you do all the college prospecting with me.
32:29>> on fullbacks. I'm not on any fullbacks now.
32:31>> running back for them. He had like 2,400 career rushing yards in college and 40 touchdowns.
32:36>> Damn.
32:37>> West Virginia and Ohio State.
32:38>> Look at that. This is This is like 5,000 more yards than Mike Washington had in 5 years.
32:44>> He's a big fatty though, so.
32:47>> Those are my favorite. Do you know what they're they're >> know. You have a type. Brandon Jacobs, come on down.
32:52>> I have a plodder fetish. It's what what Brandon Barfield calls it.
32:57>> Yes.
32:58>> [laughter] >> It's so true. Who is Were you big like Jonathan Stewart guy back in the day?
33:03>> I like yeah, like Jonathan Stewart a lot. Like LeGarrette Blount, one of my all-time favorites.
33:07>> Oh, dude.
33:07>> That's the thing is like not a plodder.
33:09Like he has like the third best weight-adjusted three-cone ever. And Brandon Jacobs was all the way up there, so I wouldn't call them true plodders.
33:17>> No, LeGarrette Blount had some some crazy movement skills for his size, for sure.
33:21>> Rhamondre slightly poorer man's Rhamondre was my or poor poor man's Blount was my comp for Rhamondre, and then the Patriots
33:29drafted him.
33:31And he like he beat out their draft capital for him, too, so I I like that.
33:34>> Yeah.
33:36Okay, where are we slotting Kendre Miller in here?
33:39>> I see tier. I don't know. Like I If he's someone you have to put a waiver claim on, like he's
33:45D tier, but if he's cheap >> He's free.
33:48>> Yeah, basically. Yeah, 1 to 2% is what Tom had, so yeah.
33:52>> Okay, cost to acquire weighing heavy on that one, for sure.
33:55>> Yeah.
33:56>> Uh Roschon Johnson 5% owned, had a big workload this week. We got a little more clarity, I think, on why the workload is
34:03big this week.
34:05>> Which is what?
34:05>> They play on Thursday night. They play on Thursday night.
34:08>> Ah, very smart, Brett. Yeah, so if you Roschon had eight of 13 carries in the fourth quarter with five on the final drive of a
34:19one-score game, even after the fumble.
34:21And he was like, "Isn't that weird?" And it's like, "Oh, yeah, they they have the quick turnaround, so that makes >> to be honest
34:27the game wasn't actually a one-score game.
34:30>> Mhm. Mhm.
34:31>> You know what I mean? Like they were getting their teeth smashed in for most of that game.
34:35>> Yeah.
34:35>> And then made a like a last I don't know that the Bears ever thought they were worried about it, you know?
34:40>> Yeah.
34:41>> Uh that said >> But because it's a quick turnaround >> Because it's quick turnaround. Yeah.
34:47>> probably out.
34:48>> Yeah. Yeah, I I don't think >> And so you have the RB2, fair enough, RB2, but is the RB2 in the most valuable backfield in
34:58fantasy by total XFP?
35:00>> Correct.
35:02Flex-worthy?
35:03>> are a tough matchup. Tough matchup.
35:06>> They are. That is true.
35:08>> Yeah.
35:09>> But he Is he flex-worthy? Cuz if he's not flex-worthy, then don't even bother picking him up.
35:14Could you Could you reasonably start him in your flex this week?
35:17>> I think he's a viable streamer. Again, like fantasy point subs check projections on Friday. We had literally the most accurate projections in the
35:25industry.
35:26Uh people betting off of them are doing really well this year.
35:30Um >> They need to know now, though. I get >> I know. I know. I know.
35:33Projections get a lot better, but I would guess I would guess um get low-end RB2, fringe RB2.
35:41>> Okay.
35:42So you're even You're even saying a little maybe a little better than a a flex >> I mean, how many byes are there this
35:49week?
35:51>> Four, I believe.
35:52>> Four?
35:53Yeah. [snorts] Yeah, somewhere I mean It It's kind of the same thing to me.
35:59Low-end RB2 is is a what-the-heck flex.
36:01>> right. So what? Two to three percent?
36:04Comfortable with that?
36:06It's It's pretty much going to be a one-week thing cuz we expect Matt Breida guy back.
36:09>> Yeah, I think he's another one to two percent, but it's it's team-dependent.
36:12It's like, "Hey, if you really need a spot start, if you have Breida or Tevin or James Cook who are on bye this week,
36:17then uh you can up it to three to four percent and I won't get mad at you."
36:24>> Cool. All >> See Tevin.
36:24>> Let's go see Tevin, yeah. Ahead of ahead of Kendre, though. Please.
36:30Dylan Sampson.
36:31Uh is he returning from IR? Why why do we have him on here, Scott?
36:37>> Uh well, he practiced before week six. Uh Jeff Mueller said he had a chance to play week seven. So, we
36:44really don't know.
36:46But, we're putting him on here. Go ahead.
36:48>> I could have swore they put him on IR.
36:51Or no, he's coming off of IR. Okay, I got it.
36:53>> Yeah.
36:54So, >> Yeah.
36:55>> there's a lot up in the air. Like, maybe Judkins plays.
36:59Maybe Sampson sits out. Or maybe Judkins misses, Sampson comes back, he's a bell cow in his first game back up against the
37:06Titans, which are, you know, I think a fairly good match up. Um but, it's You know me, I'm always more long-term than
37:13short-term oriented. And so, it's like, is Who is Dylan Sampson, Britt? You tell me as the film guy. We know he like was
37:21slated to be Todd Monken's like Justice Hill pass-catching back. But, like does Is there a chance he could be the guy just
37:31because, and I know we've seen him be the guy and not do anything for fantasy, but it Judkins, we had that stat, like
37:3716 straight games below 4.0 yards per carry. Could he actually like steal work, become a bell cow?
37:45I I just wanted to To me, this is just like a super deep dart, and he's probably D tier, but or F tier even, but
37:50I I wanted to hear your film take.
37:53>> I highly doubt the Browns drafted him in the fourth round for him not to play.
37:58I don't think they ever envisioned Quishon being like a a bell cow, right?
38:02>> No, I think they did.
38:03>> They drafted him in the same draft. Like >> didn't.
38:06>> Yes, they did. Like, 50 picks apart.
38:08>> Oh, maybe you're right. Yeah. Quishon Judkins in in round two.
38:11>> And Sampson early round four.
38:13>> boy.
38:15>> Early round four, I believe.
38:17Like, pick 105 or something like that.
38:20>> Yeah.
38:22>> Yeah, I mean, Sampson's like a a slasher type, definitely more of a change of pace than like a bell cow build, but
38:27like >> Yeah.
38:28>> Like I feel like this is another like possible one week start kind of guy with more potential long-term upside than the
38:35other two we talked about.
38:36>> is there cuz we know Quintez Cephus the efficiency is just awful.
38:40Maybe Samson could be the juice?
38:42>> Well, and Todd Monken doesn't have allegiance to either, so maybe he pivots off of Cephus.
38:47>> Right.
38:47>> keeps going this way, so >> So so compare him to to Roschon and Miller. There's there's a >> Go ahead.
38:54>> Way way more upside than those guys.
38:56>> Really? All right. Well, this shocked me. Let's put him Let's put him B tier, but again it's it's team dependent. If
39:03you really need a spot start, I would prefer Roschon, but if you You know, yeah, there's still a chance that you could he he could be a better
39:12spot start and then there's more long-term upside, so comes out to B tier. There's nuance, whatever, YOLO.
39:17>> Tennessee is not a fun match-up by the way. They're they're good against the run.
39:20>> Yeah, but they're getting blown out in just about every Well, I mean be Colts who suck, but >> They just got a GM fired.
39:26>> Game script's going to be good, yeah.
39:29>> Samaje Perine, 5% owned. Cincinnati was obviously on a bye this past week, right?
39:35Or no, did they play tonight?
39:38>> They were >> Why are we >> They were on a bye.
39:42>> They're on a bye.
39:43>> Thank you. Voice from the shadows.
39:47Motion man.
39:48Yeah, on a bye. Um so we couldn't get any, you know, clarity or follow-up on the Chase Brown Samaje Perine splits. We've had a lot of
39:56people push back on us though for our Samaje Perine take.
40:01/Chase Brown take.
40:03>> Okay.
40:04>> Are we Do you want to rehash the whole thing right now? Or do you do you have new information here? What's the thought
40:07process?
40:09>> Are you just going to point people to to go back and listen to last week's episode? No one wants to do that.
40:15>> Can we CliffNotes it, Scott?
40:16>> Go ahead, Yeah, Cliff Note it.
40:18>> Chase Brown hasn't been very good this year.
40:20>> Uh-huh.
40:21>> Samaje Perine ate into his workload by about half last week.
40:26>> He out-carried Chase Brown last week, and you had a Cincinnati beat writer, uh, Danner is his last name, uh, say,
40:35"This was all intentional. The Cincinnati they tried out the under center thing. They're going back to the shotgun approach, and guess what? You
40:42know, the downhill shotgun approach fits Perine a lot better." Ryan Heath boy genius looked at the numbers and said, "That's not really true. I don't
40:52think that's really true." But still, you know, a beat writer's kind of saying that. He has team sources, ideally. And so, you and I just kind of
40:59are like, "Well, is there a chance Perine [snorts] can be the guy Like, this is, you know, Chase Brown has proven like the the role
41:06is really valuable. Could Perine get that?
41:10Because Chase Brown has been so inefficient?"
41:14>> My head is spinning right now.
41:16>> Probably not. Probably not. I I I think it's more I think it's more Perine's impact is more of a a fear and concern for Chase Brown than
41:25it is actually like a good thing for your fantasy team. But I'm willing to be swayed in the opposite direction if you
41:30feel strongly, Brent.
41:30>> The beat writer really said they're going back to the shotgun stuff?
41:34>> Yeah.
41:35>> Well, then that 100% benefits Chase Brown.
41:38>> Yeah. Well, yeah. That Well, that's why I said Ryan Heath is like, "This is strange. The data doesn't back this up."
41:44>> That was my whole thesis last week about Brown losing his touches were they've gone away from the Zac Taylor outside
41:50zone scheme.
41:52They went to the under center power counter duo. Brown's not good at that.
41:57But he What he has is like legit linear speed, explosiveness. So, the outside zone scheme works for him because he can
42:06threaten the corner and make one cut.
42:08I I don't know. That's I'm My head's spinning now. I'm very confused. Okay. I think that's good news for Chase Brown.
42:14So, >> Yeah.
42:16>> Well, I just I just dropped the article in the chat here. You can read it later.
42:19But, uh yeah, I would say I would say D tier.
42:23It is possible, but I I think it's just more, you know, a potential negative for Chase Brown. P Ryan's existence than it is uh
42:31him being a really impact player for fantasy.
42:34>> I I agree with that.
42:35>> He does He does have contingent upside should Chase Brown get hurt. But, I also don't think is any good. So,
42:43>> Right. He's basically a fullback.
42:47Cedric Wilson.
42:49You know what I mean?
42:49>> Of the Bengals, yeah.
42:51>> Mike Washington finally got involved in the Las Vegas Raiders game this week. He's owned in 30% of leagues. I feel like we've talked
42:59about him on all but one waiver wire episode.
43:02Andy Janovich having historically one of the most un- inefficient starts to a career ever.
43:09>> Rivals is Trent Richardson.
43:11>> Not only that, the where Janovich was getting stuff done in fantasy was the pass game, but he's dropping passes now
43:18all over the place.
43:19>> Yeah, Lo- Lobby is getting more work in the passing game. Mike Washington's getting more work in the running game.
43:25Only had one fewer carry than than Janovich. Maybe he's dealing with an ankle injury, but even if he is, you have Jeff Mueller saying, "This
43:32isn't something that's going to get better most likely without rest. And if it does, it's going to take a while."
43:38>> Well, you know what I hate?
43:40I hate anytime I have like an ankle injury, and then all of a sudden my hand's really hurt because of that.
43:48>> What are you trying to say here, Brett?
43:50>> [laughter] >> What? Okay, he might be playing through an injury. Why's he dropping passes and blowing pass pro assignments?
43:57>> Right.
43:58>> That's That has nothing to do with an ankle injury.
44:01So, >> Right.
44:02>> sorry.
44:04Dad humor.
44:05>> Yeah. Um so, yeah, but here's the thing is is Mike Washington I didn't really like as a prospect. You liked I saw him as an explosive change
44:16of play guy which he to be fair is the case. He has three runs of 18 plus yards.
44:22He's throwing a flag. Flag on the play.
44:24>> I liked relative to the class. This class was absolute buns. I still had like a early day three grade on him, you know?
44:32Day three.
44:33>> Crazy crazy staff for you. He has three career runs of 18 plus yards.
44:39Ashton Jeanty has only five in his career on over 300 more carries.
44:45>> That's >> Yeah, and so it's like this guy needs carries and Jeanty needs less than him.
44:51Still I I don't see a ton of upside. I think he's always going to be RB2 by XFP and now it's you know zero
45:00passing down work or maybe it's it's even a three-way committee and and Jeanty still gets the bulk of it. So, to
45:07me this is just like a run-of-the-mill handcuff. I know you're seeing people argue otherwise, but I I'd put him D tier.
45:15>> Yeah, the only real contingent upside is if if Jeanty gets hurt.
45:20>> Yeah. But you know, P Ryan has the same upside if Chase Brown gets hurt.
45:24>> Well, yeah, but Jeanty's already hurt.
45:26So, it's like >> Yeah. Yeah, there's more of a likelihood he he gets more hurt.
45:31>> Yeah, and what if they're also just like, "Man, this isn't going to heal.
45:34Let's throw him on IR for four weeks."
45:35>> Exactly. Exactly.
45:36>> So.
45:37>> All right. All right. D or T C tier?
45:40>> Let's go D tier and and let's kick Mayfield to the end of the line there.
45:45>> Okay.
45:45>> Boom. I like that.
45:47Jonah Coleman where where another one we've talked about several times.
45:53Denver's offense is so anemic. I have a hard time discussing anyone on this offense right now, but Jonah Coleman owned in 29% of leagues.
46:01He gets Kansas City, and Carolina. So, good matchups in two of the next three weeks.
46:07But, R.J. Harvey's been a thing in the like he's their primary pass catcher, Scott.
46:13>> He's their wide receiver one.
46:15>> He's their wide receiver one.
46:17And then J.K. Dobbins is like back to taking all the the run down work.
46:24>> Yeah. Well, listen, he's eligible to come off of IR. It's It's possible he sits out another week, but he's eligible
46:30to come off of IR. Tyler Badie's out. Um he had that nice game right before the IR stint where he was super
46:40productive and looked like the best running back on the team despite everything he did in that game coming after he suffered a a high ankle
46:49sprain on the first play of the game.
46:51Um or his first touch of the game.
46:54And so, like I think the heat the thesis holds.
46:57It which is like I like his second half upside. I think there's a chance just based on the talent that my
47:02analytics model really liked him coming out. He could be a bell cow.
47:07Um that said, I think it's kind of unlikely cuz Payton loves Dobbins, loves Harvey, and it's what? Like it's just a
47:14totally dead offense at this point, right?
47:17>> Yeah.
47:18Yeah.
47:21Exactly. Sorry, you asked me a question while I was taking a drink of water.
47:25>> Another D tier?
47:27>> Uh maybe. Yeah, D's >> Fine. D's fine.
47:33>> Keep Mayfield on the caboose, please.
47:35>> You All right, let's just move Mayfield to F. We're We're We're getting the D tier kind of crowded anyway.
47:40>> I love it.
47:41Tyron Tracy. Oh, no. Najee Harris. Oh, no. Devin Singletary.
47:46Oh, no. 4% owned for Tracy, 16 for Harris, and 1% for Singletary.
47:54Gross. Gross. Gross. They're playing four running backs, and when John Harbaugh was pressed on it, he basically made it sound like this is
48:02going to be a hot hand situation with four guys, and none of them are special, and none of them have earned more
48:07playing time. Is basically what he said.
48:10>> Yeah.
48:11Yeah, by the way, Motion Man had a great take where on yesterday's show I was kind of talking about the Scarbrough
48:17thing and how weird it was, and Motion Man was just shouting at the screen. He was just like, What This is the most
48:23obvious thing ever. Like, Cam Scarbrough is the most immature player in the league, and it's it's Harbaugh. It's John Harbaugh. Like, how do you think
48:32that was going to work out? So, yeah, Harbaugh hates Scarbrough, and he's begging for anyone to step up. And like, that's basically what he said is like is
48:40like, we need someone to step up, and it's not Scarbrough who I hate, so it needs to be one of these other guys.
48:46The problem is they all stink. They're all awful and and significantly less talented than Cam Scarbrough.
48:52Uh and you know, should logic and reason rather than emotion prevail, Scarbrough should just go back right back to being the RB1. Uh but if you're in a deep
49:01league, I think it's worth, you know, throwing darts at these guys.
49:04Um and so, it's just like if you have the roster space to burn, you could kind of just throw a dart. Um who do you like
49:13the most here? I feel like Tracy is the most bell cow potential, but >> Does it fit the scheme at all though?
49:20>> Right. And Najee is is clearly the early the best early down guy who just disappears in negative scripts.
49:30You want to just say they're all F-tier for convenience's >> Yeah, I'm not I don't want to This shouldn't have made it past me in
49:36the show sheet. I should have just struck these guys from the record.
49:39>> Okay.
49:40>> I still probably want Scarbrough the most, to be honest with you.
49:43>> Yeah.
49:45Yeah, but he's not on waivers, Brett, so >> Oh, true.
49:49>> We save that for the buy low, sell high episode.
49:52How about that?
49:53>> Well, I ain't calling him a buy low either, but >> Yeah, that's true. That's true. He's not a buy low.
50:00>> Let's move to wide receivers. By the way, as you can see there's no S or A tier people so far, so that's that's
50:04great for those of you >> coming.
50:07>> Yeah, it's coming.
50:07>> Potentially.
50:08>> Uh wide receivers are in a much better spot this week than it was, so.
50:12>> Omar Cooper Jr.
50:144% owned. Let's just hit him and AD Mitchell together.
50:19Um AD Mitchell is supposed to come back soon. He did have a second procedure on the hand last week, so maybe that delays
50:24his comeback. It's They said it was very minor, but Cooper Jr. made his his true debut this week.
50:31Was the second leading route runner, you know, behind Garrett Wilson for them.
50:36Had over 100 yards receiving and a touchdown. Looked pretty good doing it as well.
50:41Scott, I mean are you warming up to the idea of Omar Cooper? Are you still kind of out cuz I know you didn't like him.
50:48You you you hold these grudges against players forever.
50:51>> I do. I do. I I I need to I need to be to see a lot to like really be pushed off of my priors.
51:00Um And so this is like the cover boy of every waiver wire column this week.
51:06Everyone's all excited about Omar Cooper Jr.
51:10Um and listen, his first full game, he had a team high seven targets. He had over 100 yards and a touchdown. 85%
51:18route share. He currently leads the league in yards per route run.
51:22Th- This is a player Brett Whitefield you know, maybe the best prospect evaluator film expert in the game.
51:30Brett Whitefield comped him to DJ Moore as a potential RAC YAC demon.
51:35>> Mhm. Mhm.
51:36>> He's one of only two rookie wide receivers with a 100-yard game this year.
51:41I I'm a little pessimistic. I I didn't To be fair, he looked awesome. He balled out. It was one of the best fantasy
51:48points over expectation games by a wide receiver all year.
51:53Um but I I'm an AD Mitchell guy. I I like the ask out and I I know Adam I Mitchell's coming back. Omar Cooper had
52:01a big game but it was a great match up.
52:03Garrett Wilson getting absolutely blanked by Christian Gonzalez which has always been the case. I don't know if you saw the post game press conference. It was it
52:12was hilarious. Garrett Wilson was just basically like, "Yeah, you know, Christian like historically is my father. I call him daddy but he
52:21you know, I'm a competitor and so I just I look forward to the next time I get to compete against him and hopefully
52:26perform a little bit better which is, you know, the ideal mindset. Um >> Is it weird that I both loved what
52:32Garrett Wilson said and hated it at the same time?
52:34>> the exact same way. I felt the same >> Man, this is such a cool dude. I love the mentality of like, "Hey, I I respect
52:39this guy's game but it almost felt a little defeated to me at the >> Yeah. Yeah, it felt very defeatist. I
52:45felt the same way.
52:46>> So, I was like, "Man, I love it but I also like uh I just want a little bit more for you, Garrett. Just a little bit
52:50more."
52:51>> Yeah. I'm a big cornerbacks over wide receiver guy. Like I hate the >> In terms of value?
52:57>> No. No, like I hate like the wide receiver personality where they're self-diva and I just love Dude, like the hardest position to play in football is
53:05cornerback and so I love I love cornerbacks with swagger.
53:09>> Cornerback or tight end but yeah.
53:10>> Shadow cornerbacks. Yeah. Yeah, fair enough.
53:12>> Cornerback though is you have to have like a short-term memory.
53:15Cuz no matter how good you are, you're getting beat several times a game.
53:19>> Yeah, and and quarterback too. That's why Eli was awesome. Like he would just throw a pick and like for literally
53:24forget about it. Like he just like it's like he threw a pick on the last play.
53:28Did I?
53:29Interesting.
53:32>> Uh so, where where we slotting Mr.
53:34Cooper and Mr. Mitchell?
53:35>> Yeah, it's it's very cost dependent. I I honestly think he's a 1 to 2% guy but I'm not going to get mad
53:44at anyone who thinks he's a 3 to 5% guy.
53:47Ryan Heath is like, "Give me Omar Cooper because like I don't know if Mitchell has really never shown us anything really, and this is a round one pick
53:56where the team is invested in their success. And Scott, I know you your your model has been great over the years, but
54:02like if there's anyone you missed on, it's like, you know, Matthew Golden who was a round one pick, right? Who looks awesome
54:10this year. And so, you know, I'm sympathetic to that, but again, everything is relative to cost.
54:15So, it's like why am I going to blow my fab or my waiver claim on Omar Cooper when you know, the most likely thing is okay,
54:22maybe Omar is a guy, but Garrett Wilson still the alpha, and then Adonai and Omar Cooper splitting the wide receiver two role.
54:30>> Are we getting to a point with the Jets where they just have too much going on?
54:35>> he's the slot, and so this is an offense that I think game by game is like, "Okay, it's an 11 personnel week, and
54:42then it's a 12 personnel week cuz you also spent a first round pick on Kenyon Seddik, and you love Mason Taylor." I I
54:48just don't see a lot of value. The role is is was good last week in a Christian Gonzalez shadow. I don't think it's
54:54going to be good this week, tough match up against the Dolphins, and then as soon as Adonai Mitchell comes back.
54:58>> You literally cut me off to steal my thunder. I love when that happens.
55:02That's what I was in the process of asking you. Is it is it possible we're just at a point where there's just too
55:06much going on for the Jets? Like they have Garrett Wilson. He's a fixture.
55:11That doesn't change week to week. But then you've got a four tight end rotation. You've got a promising young young rookie in Omar Cooper, a promising
55:18young rookie in Kenyon Seddik. You got Adonai Mitchell coming back to the fold.
55:21You got Breece Hall who also is a a nice target as a backfield guy coming back soon. It's like, "Can Geno Smith in this
55:28this Jets offense really sustain all these dudes?" Probably not.
55:31>> No. No, it's it's too many slices of pie with a small pie. So.
55:36>> Right.
55:38Yep. Too many slices of pie with small pie. I like it.
55:41So >> what do we do?
55:44>> Let's go B for Cooper just cuz the the upside is is >> And 80 Mitchell then?
55:48>> C.
55:50>> I mean just just just put in F-tier because like I mean >> Okay.
55:55>> Now you have Amari Cooper breaking out and he might not even play this week.
55:58>> Sure.
56:00Demario Douglas 8% owned, 92% available. He's got Chicago, Miami, and Green Bay coming up.
56:06Drake May is back to being um a top-three quarterback in the league probably.
56:12And >> Look at how fast that is.
56:14>> It's a week-to-week league.
56:15>> be a strength-of-schedule merchant, but he's like a damn good one.
56:20>> Yeah, that's a great point.
56:21>> that's that's something you could bank on, you know? Where it's like if you have Drake May, you maybe stream a a quarterback
56:28>> You know who else is a little like that?
56:29Is Jordan Love.
56:31Jordan Love will curb-stomp bad teams.
56:33Like three straight >> Williams has been like that.
56:36>> Yeah, but then against like tougher opponents, they just completely fold.
56:39Um Yeah, that's a good point. Well, anyways, regardless of that, uh he's he's balling right now. And Demario Douglas is a is a pass-catcher for him.
56:49But he's still >> Did you say Romeo Doubs suffered a shoulder injury? Uh Jeff Mueller thinks he's out a couple of weeks. Last two
56:56games, 13 targets, 11 catches, 151 yards, three touchdowns. A.J. Brown looked hella rusty. Drake Mao Zedong
57:06likes to spread the ball around.
57:11I still think he's a D-tier. I don't know.
57:13>> Yeah, probably D-tier.
57:15>> Okay.
57:16>> I think you'll see like Kyle Williams get a chance now too with with Romeo Doubs, you know?
57:23Just keep pushing Mayfield down. I like that. Good job, motion man.
57:27>> Put him in the Mayfield tier. How about that?
57:29Something below F. Brett Hundley.
57:31>> Jordan Tyson 48% owned. He's got Pitt, he's got his bye, he's got Cleveland.
57:36>> He's traveling to Paris, Brett.
57:39>> I saw that. He is that that implies they're trying to play him.
57:43Right?
57:44>> I mean, at least means his his practice window could open soon.
57:48Um I I'm really bullish here. So, like let me make the case for him cuz I know you you maybe don't entirely agree.
57:56Um Jeff Mueller is kind of pessimistic on this this hamstring. It's a high concern injury. He thinks the Saints probably hold him out till week nine. I
58:05think even if that's the case, I just really like the second half upside for a prospect I saw a lot of upside and
58:11potential for. You had Nick Underhill, Saints beat writer, saying he was the best player in Saints uh training camp this year. We know we have
58:20proof of concept that the role is good and valuable. Deonte Vealy, who isn't any good, ranks 22nd in targets but 73rd
58:29in yards for route run. So, like he could easily become the wide receiver two and step into that very valuable role.
58:37I I It depends on how how desperate you are.
58:41How needy you are for guaranteed points.
58:44If that's the case, he's I don't know, C C or B tier. But if you can if you can keep him on your bench for
58:51another couple of weeks and just wait and see and you're you just want your kindest act, you just want someone who
58:57could crack your lineup if he's good, I like him as an A tier. But I I'll let you be the voice of reason potentially.
59:04>> Tyler Shough has 32 completions and 230 yards passing in the last 2 weeks combined.
59:10>> Yeah, but he's also top three in dropbacks on the season.
59:16>> Yeah, and that's trending the wrong direction, by the way.
59:20>> Yeah, I nailed it. Time to regress.
59:21>> 25 pass attempts in week five, 30 this past week.
59:26So.
59:26>> Okay, but that could just be a little blip.
59:29Um Well, that's like >> I mean, three of the six games he's he's been below average in drop backs.
59:41Three of the six he's been above average. It's like We can't fully buy into one if we're not willing to consider the other.
59:48>> Well, over his last 12 games it's it's 41 drop backs per game.
59:52>> Okay.
59:54>> It's I It's a Kellen Moore thing. Kellen Moore's offense leads the league in pace of play every single year he's been an
59:59OC or play caller. So >> Are they still the last two weeks? It's been ugly.
60:04>> two weeks versus a six-year sample.
60:07Who are you, Warren Sharp?
60:10>> [laughter] >> Just kidding. I like Warren Sharp.
60:13>> Didn't you Did we just have a Warren Sharp tweet on the screen?
60:17>> No, I I posted in the private chat >> Okay.
60:20>> the article and he had a tweet linking to the article. So, it was just I found that before I found the actual article.
60:25>> Got you.
60:26I I don't know. I I'm still out on Jordan Tyson.
60:31>> Okay, so so let's meet in the middle here.
60:35B tier?
60:36>> Scott, he he's missed How many How many rookie seasons Actually, how many seasons in general?
60:42Just hold on, listen. Say, "Man, he missed the last six months of football, but he had a great season." This is I'm
60:48stealing this from Sigmund Bloom. This is his thing.
60:50>> Ja'Marr Chase.
60:52>> No.
60:54He he sat out a COVID season. That's not the same thing. He was not injured.
60:59He was not defunct. Jordan Tyson has missed six months of football because of injury, basically, minus two weeks of training camp where he was healthy.
61:07>> Yeah.
61:08Yeah.
61:09>> Find Find me the example. There, this guy missed six months of football and then had an amazing season afterwards.
61:14>> Listen. This is a trust me, bro.
61:17Weighing the the upside versus risk, there's way more upside in a game that's ruled by the law of upside. So, I will
61:24say I'll let you go as B-tier and it's just like if I have to veto any further counter arguments, just I'll give I'll
61:30give you one. I'll give you >> Devon Wylie looks good, Chris Olave is a stud, and DeJuan Johnson's been awesome.
61:36And you think this guy who hasn't played football in six months >> not looked good by the data.
61:42>> What do you mean?
61:43>> DeJuan Johnson is nothing special and never has been.
61:45>> What data says Wylie hasn't looked good?
61:47>> I just said he is 22nd in targets, 73rd in yards per route run.
61:52>> Those are production stats. I'm talking about actual performance on the field.
61:55>> Yards per route run is a performance and efficiency stat. Maybe he's looked good and the connection isn't there. Maybe it's good for Jordan Tyson
62:01>> 230 passing yards in the last 2 weeks.
62:03>> like the best player at Saints training camp.
62:07>> Yeah, there's no hyperbole there with those >> who was drafted what, top 10?
62:11Brian Heath loved the analytics profile.
62:14>> Okay.
62:14>> You think you know more than Ryan Heath, Brett?
62:17>> About something?
62:18>> They call him the golden boy. You think you You actually the golden boy?
62:22That's why you're the bronze boy.
62:28All right. Can we get to the S-tier finally?
62:30>> Trey Tucker?
62:31>> No.
62:33Let's talk Trey Tucker, but but I would not >> 45% owned. He's got the Rams, the Jets, and the 49ers.
62:38>> owned?
62:39>> Cuz he's awesome.
62:40>> read Shout out Shout out again, Ryan Heath. I I Ryan Heath really is the gold standard, but he in the advanced matchups was
62:47like, "Trey Tucker is going to go nuclear."
62:49He had 97 yards, two touchdowns. What We We We made advanced matchups for you last week, and some random guy read it
62:56and built built a DFS lineup around it and won $30,000. So, shout out to Ryan, shout out to that guy.
63:04Um I'm skeptical. I'm I mean, this Raiders offense is rolling.
63:08He has seven plus targets in half his games.
63:11They desperately need a wide receiver one to step up.
63:15Does he have the talent?
63:17And that's a Brett Whitefield question.
63:19>> Dude, does Trey Tucker have the talent?
63:21>> Yeah.
63:21>> I mean, he's good. He's just tiny.
63:23>> He's 5'8" with what? 438 wheels, something like that?
63:29>> Uh I think he's a 4-2 guy.
63:32>> Yeah, okay. Yeah, 4-2 guy. Insanely fast, but like that's who he is to me.
63:36He's just like a deep threat where if he has the right schematic matchup that Ryan Heath identifies pre-hindsight he can go off,
63:46but it's like once a month.
63:50>> Bro, he's like the the wide receiver 17 right now.
63:55>> He only has two good games.
63:57>> Okay.
63:58He's the wide receiver 17 right now, Scott.
64:01>> That's crazy.
64:03Well, that's Yeah, that just shows you people just adding people off of, you know, who scored the most fantasy points to date.
64:11Yeah, I I I've been saying he's he's Kirk Cousins' new Darnell Mooney. And I you know, when I first posited that, Ryan Heath was
64:18like, "Eesh, that that makes him sound really shitty." And I'm like, "No, that makes him sound good because what was it? 2024?
64:24Where his Mooney's yards per route run with Kirk Cousins was like almost tied. Which is like so stupid because Drake London's
64:34so much better than Darnell Mooney.
64:36>> Yeah, mine mine was Jameson Crowder.
64:38>> Okay. Okay.
64:40>> But >> like, yeah, and look at what Kirk Cousins is doing.
64:44He had He what? Top three in touchdowns on the year?
64:48>> Yeah.
64:48>> Or he's leading the league in touchdowns and he's top He's top five in passing yards.
64:55>> [snorts] >> Goff had a bye and Purdy plays tonight, that's why he's leading the league in touchdowns, but >> We we could dwell on
65:01Cousins for I mean, uh Goff for a second. He's a great MVP bet last I checked.
65:05>> I said that on the show last week.
65:07>> Okay. Yeah.
65:08>> He's having a historical start to the season and he's like he was like plus 1200 last week to win MVP.
65:13>> Yeah.
65:14>> It's crazy.
65:14>> Well, I he was my MVP bet what a year ago, 2 years ago where like I the yards are there, the perform the
65:22efficiency is there, it's just Detroit was always the least greedy or he was always the least greedy quarterback inside the red zone and it
65:29was just like if he's just league average and like pads his stats more with touchdowns, he could easily Yeah, 40 to one odds I'm currently seeing so
65:37uh >> He's the most >> still the >> in the in the league in the last 3 years.
65:42>> Yeah. Yeah, but never like in truly dominant one season.
65:45>> Right, just consistent.
65:46>> Despite despite by the way like a bottom five P row inside the red zone. So imagine if it was league average.
65:51>> Dude's like 5,000 passing yards and 30 touchdowns every year.
65:54>> Yeah, what why is this another Lions fandom episode? I thought this is a way more >> You brought it up, not me.
65:59>> I know what we're >> [laughter] >> Tre Tucker, uh I I like him in the >> I I would have said I would have said
66:04like D tier, honestly.
66:05>> What?
66:07>> I know.
66:08>> He's the wide receiver 17 through 6 weeks.
66:11>> C tier is the highest I could go. I just don't trust the talent. I don't I don't trust him as someone you could feel
66:17confident starting.
66:18>> Top of C tier.
66:20>> You want to go B tier? If you really feel strongly about it.
66:23>> Top Top of C tier is fine.
66:25>> Okay.
66:27Jim Nagy came on my podcast a couple years ago to tell me Tre Tucker could play.
66:31>> Yeah.
66:32>> And so I doubted him every step of the way and now he's wide receiver 17.
66:36That's crazy.
66:38>> You know what's crazy is Cincinnati Bearcats had Tre Tucker and Alec Pierce on the same team.
66:43>> Yeah, they had the they also had what I said was the least accurate quarterback I've ever seen play football >> Desmond
66:50>> at an FPS level and then he started games in the NFL.
66:53Desmond Ridder.
66:54>> Not for long.
66:55>> Yeah.
66:56>> Uh Jaylen Nailor.
66:58Can we talk about my guy?
67:01Baby Amon-Ra 1.0.
67:02>> about your guy.
67:04>> Antonio Williams is baby Amon-Ra 2.0.
67:06Jaylen Nowell is baby Amon-Ra 1.0.
67:10He's awesome.
67:10>> 7% owned?
67:11>> 7% owned, New York Giants bye week, Chargers coming up.
67:16He is I said this on the show last night. He's got at least a 30-yard reception in four of six games this season.
67:24>> Yeah.
67:24>> He's so good, man.
67:26And he's Marv proof. He's Marv proof.
67:28>> Is he?
67:29>> Yeah, what do you mean?
67:32I swear to God if you give me a prospect take right now, I'm going to lose it.
67:35It's like 3 years ago, brother. Give it up.
67:37>> I've got a I've got a take that you're going to clown on me even more for. So, just you wait. Just you wait. Let me Let
67:43me gas him up a little bit. Jaylen Nowell clearly trending up in terms of production. He had 11.9 fantasy points.
67:50Then he had 15.2 fantasy points. Then he had 23.7 fantasy points last week.
67:56We had it on the show yesterday. Ryan Heath was like, Jaylen Nowell easily leads the league in yards per target.
68:02And my stat was yeah, he came into the week ranking uh top three. And then he had 10 targets. He caught all of them. He had
68:09like 130 yards, whatever it was.
68:12And so yeah, he only had a 60% route share last week. But if this guy is so good and so efficient, why wouldn't he
68:19get more targets?
68:21>> Yeah, I think you'll see it.
68:22>> Well, the devil's advocate argument is twofold. It's one, they really don't like this guy. And you know, I from my Texans sources
68:31>> What?
68:31>> My Texans sources have been telling me every step of the way, "We do not like this guy." I say, "Why?" And they say,
68:37"They don't think he runs routes the right way." I don't >> [laughter] >> I don't know what that means.
68:42But it's clearly the case that they don't like this guy.
68:47Go ahead. Say it.
68:47>> No, you go ahead. You go ahead.
68:48>> Go Go ahead and say this is the same source who talked you into David Montgomery, which is true.
68:54Which is true.
68:55Um but like I do think that's true because like if this guy is so good, why is it taken him so long to get on the
69:00field where like they're playing I Hutchinson over him. Xavier Hutchinson sucks. Uh and he only had a 60% route share when MHJ, the guy that he just
69:09traded for, was down at 26%. I think that's going to come up. And it's also a Nico Collins alpha wide receiver one
69:17offense.
69:18So I I would have I would have said C or D tier, but I know this is your boy, so I'll let you uh I'll let you
69:24>> I don't believe for a second they don't like him.
69:27>> What does that even mean he doesn't run routes the right way?
69:31>> I'm guessing they're For one, I don't think it's a real a real thing, but >> Maybe I'm being fed bad sources. Maybe
69:37this is like uh >> like a Chinese double agent or something.
69:41>> Maybe on purpose. Um >> This is like a CC CCP spy.
69:46>> They're they're basically >> Fantasy Points.
69:50>> Yeah.
69:50>> Destroy the Exodia reputation.
69:52>> Ooh.
69:53>> Which was otherwise immaculate. Well, maybe not immaculate, but but pretty good, really good.
69:58>> The thing with Noah is he was like the 79th overall pick.
70:02>> We have a We have a Noah mole.
70:05It's awful. It's >> I don't think he There there shouldn't be an expectation that a third-round pick plays right away. He always is
70:12going to have to earn that opportunity, and he's starting to. And I think you'll see him play >> Bro, he could he couldn't earn it after
70:18like a confluence of factors setting him up perfectly to just spike the ball. It's like >> What do you mean?
70:25>> And Nico Collins went down, season-ending injury. Tank Dell, RIP.
70:29>> now he's balling out.
70:31Tank Dell's not even part of the math.
70:33Don't stop bringing him up on this show.
70:35Tank Dell's not even part of the math.
70:36>> Well, he's asked here. He's the next guy we're talking about.
70:38>> not. We're not talking about >> I'm messing with you. I'm messing. But it's like it's like dude, Ka- They traded for Kayshon Boutte. He played
70:45over Jaylen Noah. Xavier Hutchinson stinks. He played over him. Jarret Wayne was playing over him. And he traded for Marvin Harrison Jr. to play over him.
70:55>> Scott, do you know how football works?
70:57There's like a pecking order.
70:59Xavier Hutchinson's been there for like four or five years. Clone to the bone, by the way. They like those clone wide
71:05receivers.
71:06He also played He also plays a different position than Jaylen Nowell.
71:12So, you don't know what clone to the bone means?
71:14>> No, I don't. And Xavier Hutchinson was a sixth-round pick who's only ever sucked.
71:18Jaylen Nowell was a round three pick who couldn't sniff the field despite five people getting hurt and any other >> any trade for two wide receivers
71:27to play over him.
71:28>> He's in his second year. Of course, you would a player with Xavier Hutchinson's experience level and >> A sixth-round pick?
71:36>> Scott, I beg you.
71:38>> Puka Nacua was a fifth-round pick.
71:39>> Oh my god, should he not play?
71:42>> No, he's really good. That's the point.
71:44Hutchinson stinks.
71:47>> Hutchinson's been there longer. He knows the playbook. He also plays a different freaking position.
71:53My god.
71:55>> All right. Well, this is one that Brett feels strongly about. I mean, >> I want to say one more thing.
72:00>> Yeah.
72:00>> If there if there is any truth to they don't like him thing, I can tell you exactly why that is.
72:05Because Jaylen Nowell's an alpha dog.
72:08And C.J. Stroud does not like people that are going to push back on his massive inflated ego.
72:15>> Woah.
72:16>> [laughter] >> What sources? What is What is this?
72:23>> Okay.
72:24>> It's both, but I mean, the the shuffling of the O line, the shuffling of the offensive coordinator, Go back to his Ohio State days and and
72:32watch his demeanor with some of his coaches on the field. He is not someone who takes coaching or feedback well.
72:40>> Okay.
72:40>> Okay, Jaylen Nowell is an alpha dog.
72:43>> Yeah.
72:43>> He is a very confident individual. Jaden Higgins is not really like that. Jaden Higgins more of a passive personality. More of a
72:51yes-man, a go with the flow kind of guy.
72:53Nico Collins, same kind of thing. Just saying, there's a pattern here with C.J.
72:57Stroud.
72:59>> Okay, this is one you feel really strongly about and one I >> Yeah, he's he's freaking awesome. And he's and he's starting to play. Uh I
73:06would say probably our first A-tier.
73:09>> Okay. Okay.
73:11>> Pick him up.
73:12>> Yeah. Sound off in in the comments who you think wins the debate. Is it Brent, team Brent, or team Chosen? Uh there's
73:19you know, maybe it seems this way, but really there's no ego here. We're really just trying to deliver the best product and get you the
73:25the information you need to know and just uh you know, the the sum of our parts being greater than the whole and
73:31uh reaching a resolution and and all that.
73:34>> All right.
73:36Jeremy Bernard, 50% owned.
73:38>> Only 50% after how much we gassed him up last week?
73:42>> Yeah, I don't know. Didn't Roman actually go on the IR now, too?
73:47>> Yeah, he didn't play last week.
73:49I know >> back.
73:50>> And Michael Pittman out until week nine.
73:52Roman Wilson out until week 10.
73:54>> Yeah, there you go.
73:56I think what what I'm saying is when we did the show, he was not yet put on the IR.
73:59>> and then week 12.
74:00>> Okay, great.
74:02>> Bro, in three games without Michael Pittman, he averages 9.7 targets at 26% target share and 15.9 fantasy points per game. He's balling out. It's the Mike
74:11McCarthy slot roll. Aaron Rodgers >> loves him.
74:15>> Notorious hater of rookies loves him.
74:19>> Yeah.
74:19>> They're best friends. They're they're having slumber parties watching conspiracy theory documentary every single night talking about the lizard people who run Washington.
74:28And uh yeah, this is their this is his boy. And so I love this. I don't S-tier easy for me.
74:35Easy. Easy S-tier.
74:38Fab?
74:4110 to 15%?
74:43>> Yeah, I agree. This has this has like um legit full season upside here.
74:50>> Why did you save this for that? I feel like >> I don't I didn't make the show sheet. I would have done this guy first.
74:57>> Yeah.
74:58Yeah.
75:00Hopefully it helps our watch time.
75:02People just [laughter] anxiously waiting having to hear like, uh, nuanced discussions about Trey Tucker who stinks, but >> [snorts] >> All right, tight ends. Let's get it
75:13Let's get this, uh, jet off the ground and back down quickly here. T.J. Hockenson 31% owned.
75:20He's got the Colts, the Lions, and the Bills coming up. Those are three absolute buns defenses for what it's worth. Um, Detroit specifically against
75:29tight ends as well. Buffalo against tight ends too. Yeah. This is great.
75:32Great matchup for Hockenson for the next 3 weeks. He's available pretty much everywhere. 69%.
75:40>> Cuz he stinks.
75:41>> No.
75:41>> [laughter] >> Cuz he's hurt.
75:43>> No, sir. It's because he missed his last game with a concussion.
75:46>> Yeah.
75:47>> And then he had a bye week. So, he wasn't playing for 2 weeks. So, everyone who had him dropped it's not because he
75:52stinks. In fact, he's he's playing great.
75:55>> Yeah.
75:55>> This is a guy who I thought was dead. I was RIP T.J. Hockenson, it's over. He's washed.
76:01>> Got a little bit >> You think he looks great on the film?
76:04>> I wouldn't say great. He looks good.
76:05Looks better than he did last year, for sure.
76:07>> Among all 44 tight ends with at least 60 routes, he ranks fifth in yards per route. He ranks third in targets per
76:13route run. To be fair, he benefited from some injuries to the wide receivers and he Kyler Murray I I don't really trust
76:19to support multiple pass catchers.
76:22Uh, but he gets a a top 10 matchup this week. Shouldn't be on waivers.
76:26It's If you need a tight end, S tier. If if you're just a if you're most teams, he's probably A tier.
76:35>> Yeah.
76:36Uh, yeah, I agree full fully.
76:43We got one more. You ready?
76:44>> Yeah.
76:45>> Michael Mayer.
76:48The wide receiver two in Las Vegas is in fact Michael Mayer, not Trey Tucker.
76:54>> Who scores Who scores more fantasy points over the next 4 weeks? Trey Tucker or Michael Mayer?
76:58>> Oh god.
77:00Over the next 4 weeks?
77:01>> Yeah, if if you even have to think about it, then then I was right in placing Trey Tucker where I did, but I I think
77:06Tucker outscores him.
77:08>> I think Tucker outscores him, too.
77:09>> Yeah, so listen, um he just like it just doesn't like I know it's been good the last 3 weeks, but it
77:16just doesn't feel bankable.
77:19>> Well, two of the last 3 weeks.
77:20>> Huh?
77:21>> It's been good in two of the last 3 weeks. New England had one target.
77:24>> 82 yards. One target, two yards. Nine targets, 95 yards.
77:29And so it just kind of feels unpredictable.
77:31It I don't know that there's a ton of contingent upside, which is part of the reason why I liked him, which was, "Hey,
77:37if Bowers goes down, he's going to get peppered." But that wasn't the case weeks one and two. So, to me this is a
77:45I don't know. F F or D tier.
77:48>> Yeah, when they run into the teams that play that are going to try to take Bowers out with man coverage, Mayer's
77:53going to have a big day.
77:54>> Okay.
77:55>> That's exactly what you saw yesterday.
77:56That's what you saw against Kansas City.
77:58Buffalo I've never seen Buffalo play as much man coverage as they played yesterday.
78:02>> So maybe the answer is read Ryan Heath's schematic matchups and roster him and then but only start him in those man
78:10heavy spots.
78:12>> Correct.
78:13>> Okay. C tier. If you need a tight end, C tier. Otherwise, D tier.
78:17>> Yeah, that's fine.
78:17>> But we ran out of space in D tier, so we'll just throw him in C's.
78:20>> Mhm.
78:22We good?
78:23>> We're good.
78:24>> That's week 7 waiver wire.
78:27We'll be back What are we doing tomorrow?
78:30>> What do you want to do?
78:31>> Buy low, sell high again? Go back to that? I like that.
78:35>> Uh you want to do a Q&A?
78:38>> Why would we got to talk to Motion Man?
78:40I think we talked about adding a live show this week. Would you rather do that?
78:44>> Uh, yeah. Yeah. All right. We'll do We'll do buy low, sell high. And then if you guys have any ideas for us for the
78:49following week, sound off in comments.
78:51>> Okay.
78:53Awesome. Guys, thank you so much for listening. [music] That's going to do it for us today. We will be back tomorrow as we are every
78:59day helping you win fantasy leagues. We are out.
79:04>> [music]
