Geno Smith could be an unlikely salve for fantasy managers hurting at the quarterback position. Smith's Week 1 statistical output was modest, but the overall competence of his performance in the Jets' 23-10 road win over the Titans bodes well. Smith completed 19-of-24 passes for 220 yards with zero touchdowns or interceptions and zero sacks. The Jets have a good offensive line, wide receiver Garrett Wilson is a stud and Adonai Mitchell, Omar Cooper Jr. and Kenyon Sadiq are athletic young pass-catchers capable of making plays for their 35-year-old quarterback. The most attractive thing about Smith for waiver shoppers is his upcoming schedule. The NFC North is full of teams with potent offenses and Swiss cheese defenses, and Smith is about to embark on a three-week tour of the NFC North. Up first are the Packers, who will be without ace pass-rusher Micah Parsons for the early part of the season. Then come dates with the Lions and Bears, whose defenses both yielded big passing numbers in Week 1. Smith could provide big-time value in the coming weeks for a small FAAB bid.
