Player insights

38

Aaron Rodgers

PositiveProjection14:00

Rodgers has an interception in each of the past two weeks, but all three interceptions through Week 3 were not his fault—drop, tipped passes that should not have been charged to him (last week's interception came right off the receiver's hand to a safety). The source likes the bet on Rodgers no interception at minus 115 odds, noting that historically Rodgers does not turn the ball over.

Insight page

Alec Pierce

NegativeInjury70:40

Alec Pierce got hurt early in the Chiefs' Week 2 game against the Colts, impacting the team's receiving options.

Insight page
NegativeInjury70:48

Alec Pierce got hurt early in the Colts game, limiting his availability and impact in Week 1.

Insight page

Baker Mayfield

NegativeUsage52:12

Baker Mayfield is the only Vikings running back to do anything in their first three games, with 42 rushing yards; this represents a limited rushing attack for Minnesota.

Insight page

Bo Nix

NegativeValue27:02

Bo Nix has been a profitable fade target for bettors; since the start of 2024, in 20 games where the other team received majority ticket support, Nix's team is 14-6 against the spread, making him the 'most profitable quarterback' to fade. This suggests consistent undervaluation of Nix and his team in betting markets, with the public consistently betting against him despite his success.

Insight page

Brenton Strange

PositiveRole34:00

Brenton Strange is highlighted as a key weapon in the Jaguars' offensive arsenal alongside three elite receivers. The source notes that Liam Cohen can 'spread out teams' using the three receivers and then 'also have Brenton Strange,' suggesting Strange is a featured part of Jacksonville's passing attack and will be used to attack Cincinnati's weak coverage linebackers.

Insight page

Brock Bowers

PositiveRole70:08

Brock Bowers is described as 'a cheat code' and 'the best unguardable' player on the Raiders offense, highlighting his elite receiving role and matchup advantage against the Chiefs.

Insight page

Brock Purdy

PositiveProjection25:54

Brock Purdy has played 'really unbelievable' through three games, though the source notes the competition level has been weak (Cardinals, Dolphins, Rams in Australia). Purdy's 64% dropback success rate leads the league by a wide margin—12 percentage points ahead of Baltimore at 54%—indicating elite efficiency in the passing game despite the soft schedule.

Insight page

C.J. Stroud

PositiveMatchup21:00

Stroud and Nico Collins have historically shredded single-high safety coverage; the Dallas Cowboys have been running a lot of single-high looks, which plays directly into Stroud's strengths. The source expects Stroud to have time to throw against Dallas's weak tackles and to take advantage of this favorable defensive scheme.

Insight page

Cam Ward

NegativeProjection41:00

Cam Ward is struggling as a rookie and showing concerning traits. The source states 'I'm out on Cam Ward' and criticizes his 'nonchalantness' and lack of 'explosiveness' in his play. A specific interception is highlighted as evidence of poor decision-making. Despite the Titans' running game being 'okay' and pass blocking being 'better than you might think,' Ward's play is the limiting factor for Tennessee's offense.

Insight page
PositiveMatchup67:08

Cam Ward faced minimal pressure from the Giants defense last week with only three pressures; with Brian Burns now out and the secondary banged up, Arizona's offense should have an easier time attacking the Giants' weakened defense.

Insight page
NegativeMatchup67:35

The Giants' pass rush generated only three pressures on Cam Ward last week, and with Brian Burns out, their best pass rusher is unavailable. The secondary is also banged up, forcing Arizona to keep pace through the air rather than relying on run-heavy game plans like they did in rainy conditions with Skaddebo.

Insight page

Dak Prescott

NegativeMatchup21:34

Dak Prescott faces an elite Texans edge rush duo that can 'take advantage of Dallas's tackles,' create negative plays, and force turnovers. The source explicitly states the Texans' defensive edge will 'get after Dak' and that Dallas's offensive line cannot provide resistance, positioning Prescott for a difficult game managing pressure and avoiding mistakes.

Insight page

Derrick Henry

NegativeRole39:00

Derrick Henry has not been effective in short-yardage situations, as evidenced by being 'stopped at the one' in the previous week's game. The source criticizes the Ravens' play-calling, noting that Henry should not be used in Wildcat formations on goal-line plays; instead, the Ravens should use the sneak or motion a tight end. Henry's ineffectiveness in short yardage is a tactical liability that the Ravens are mismanaging.

Insight page

Deshaun Watson

NegativeProjection11:51

Watson has been ineffective against the Steelers' defensive line; in Week 3 against the Panthers, he went 16-of-30 for 144 yards with no big-time throws and three turnover-worthy plays, though he finished with two touchdowns and no interceptions. His sample size over the last couple of years remains poor, and the source views the Tampa game (24-30, 238 yards) as an aberration rather than a sign of improvement.

Insight page
NegativeProjection15:00

Watson has been terrible in first halves this season, ranking in the bottom five among NFL quarterbacks in EPA and success rate during first-half play; the source expects this trend to regress toward the median in Week 4 against Pittsburgh, particularly after his first home game.

Insight page

Drake Maye

NegativeProjection62:11

Drake May is completely lost with no confidence; his footwork is off and he cannot grip the ball and throw it forward; the source compares his poor throw at the end of the first half to a Will Levis-level mistake and states he cannot back the Patriots until seeing a competent game from him again.

Insight page
NegativeProjection64:34

Drake Maye has looked pathetic and is playing like a baseball player with the yips; the source cannot back him in betting despite the Patriots being in a favorable spot against Buffalo, citing his poor early-season performance.

Insight page

Emanuel Wilson

PositiveUsage83:26

Wilson saw increased carries (9 for 14 yards) in the previous game against Washington, suggesting he may be taking over more of the workload from Jadarian Price, who was pulled and limited to 5 carries.

Insight page

Jadarian Price

NegativeUsage82:26

Price has a fumbling problem and carries are expected to decline; he was pulled in the previous game against Washington, receiving only 5 carries for 15 yards while Emmanuel Wilson got 9 carries for 14 yards. The source anticipates reduced workload going forward and recommends betting Price unders on both carries and yards.

Insight page

Jameis Winston

NegativeProjection65:58

Jameis Winston has looked terrible early in the season; the Giants went out and acquired J.J. McCarthy, signaling lack of confidence in Winston's performance.

Insight page
PositiveProjection66:55

Against Arizona's poor defense, Jameis Winston will likely air it out aggressively rather than rely on the run game; the source expects fireworks in the Cardinals-Giants game with Winston taking shots downfield.

Insight page

Jaylen Waddle

NegativeInjury26:40

Jaylen Waddle is noted as 'supposedly healthy but in a boot,' indicating a potential injury concern despite official healthy designation. This creates uncertainty about his full availability and effectiveness for Denver against San Francisco, though the source treats Denver as relatively healthy overall compared to San Francisco's injury-ravaged roster.

Insight page

Joe Burrow

PositiveMatchup32:39

Joe Burrow will have 'plenty of opportunities to pick apart' the Jacksonville defense, which relies on turnovers and is vulnerable to regression. The source notes that Burrow has faced weak competition at home (Drake May and Deshaun Watson) and that Jacksonville's defense, once turnover regression hits, will be exposed. Burrow's arm talent and decision-making should exploit Jacksonville's secondary vulnerabilities.

Insight page

Josh Allen

PositiveProjection61:48

Josh Allen is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and has been incredible for the Bills; the source contrasts his performance with Drake May's struggles, noting Allen's excellence as a reason to back the Bills against the Patriots.

Insight page
NegativeInjury63:50

Allen is banged up heading into the Week 4 matchup against New England, adding some uncertainty to his availability and performance.

Insight page
PositiveProjection65:23

Allen is a consistent touchdown vulture; his anytime touchdown odds at minus 115 are underpriced and should be closer to minus 200 every week given his propensity to score near the goal line and on sneaks.

Insight page

Justin Jefferson

NegativeInjury47:02

Jefferson did not practice and the source believes there is no reason to rush him back against Miami; he could be held out for two weeks given the Dolphins home game followed by New Orleans and a bye week.

Insight page

Kenneth Walker III

PositiveRole70:20

Kenneth Walker has made a significant impact on the Chiefs' run game, which has been non-existent for years, demonstrating his value in a previously pass-heavy offense.

Insight page

Kirk Cousins

PositiveProjection70:00

Kirk Cousins is playing well for the Raiders offense, which is functioning effectively with improved coaching, a healthy offensive line (Linderbaum, Colton Miller), and elite receiving talent like Brock Bowers.

Insight page

Kyler Murray

NegativeProjection45:45

The source states that Kyler Murray has not instilled any confidence moving forward for the Vikings offense, which ranks last offensively in EPA per play among all 50 teams that started 3-0 in the last decade; the Vikings are on pace to be outgained by 1,300 yards.

Insight page

Lamar Jackson

PositiveRole42:00

Lamar Jackson is positioned as the Ravens' primary advantage against Tennessee's weak secondary. The source states it is 'hard for me to see Lamar not moving the ball with ease against this Titans secondary,' indicating elite matchup advantage. Jackson's dual-threat ability is also emphasized as superior to running Wildcat formations; the source argues 'Lamar is the Wildcat' because of his elite running ability, making direct snaps to running backs redundant.

Insight page

Malik Willis

PositiveUsage51:50

The source identifies Malik Willis rushing yards as the best bet in the Vikings-Dolphins game, noting that Willis will get out of the pocket and needs design runs; he is the path for Miami to score explosives against Minnesota's blitzing defense.

Insight page

Nico Collins

PositiveRole20:00

Collins is expected to return this week after missing time; his presence on the field transforms the Texans' offense. With Collins on the field, the Texans' rushing offense is significantly more effective, averaging one additional yard per carry due to the respect he commands from defenses. The source views Collins' return as making the Texans' offense 'completely different' and more dangerous.

Insight page
PositiveRole21:34

Nico Collins's return from injury is viewed as a significant boost to the Texans' passing game and overall offensive capability. The source assumes Collins practiced and is back, and explicitly states that his return 'puts this over the top' for the Texans' chances against Dallas, suggesting his presence materially improves Houston's offensive efficiency and matchup advantage.

Insight page

Patrick Mahomes

PositiveMatchup78:32

Patrick Mahomes has historically played well against the Raiders in Vegas; the source notes this as a favorable matchup context when evaluating the Chiefs' Week 4 divisional game against an undefeated Raiders team.

Insight page

Puka Nacua

PositiveInjury59:00

Puka Nakua is expected to play against Philadelphia and is one of the best receivers in the NFL; his availability is important for the Rams' offensive flexibility, as without him McVay would have had to rely more heavily on tight ends given their injuries at that position.

Insight page

Trevor Lawrence

NegativeMatchup32:39

Trevor Lawrence faces a Cincinnati defense that struggles in coverage, particularly with linebackers and safeties. The source notes that if the Bengals' defensive line can generate natural pressure on Lawrence and force him into mistakes, Cincinnati can win; however, the secondary vulnerabilities—especially with Dax Hill moved inside and the nickel cornerbacks on IR—create opportunities for Jacksonville's passing attack.

2:45Welcome to the Action Network Podcast presented by DraftKings.
2:48This is the NFL Week 4 Betting Preview. I'm Stucky and joining me, as always, my co-host, the one and only Doug Kazarian.
2:55And, of course, not pictured, but always with us, stat sound, Evan Abrams, who will be chiming in with some nuggets throughout
3:03and his best bet in just a moment. Doug, how goes it?
3:07How was your week three? Frustrating at times, but I also kind of knew it, right?
3:12A week ago, we sat here and I said, I hate the card.
3:16These are all sort of wishy-washy plays. I ended up going 3-1 and 1 in the contest, but it was just a tough one.
3:24But we could have got there, honestly, with both games I had.
3:28The Niners, obviously, wasn't a bad beat because the Cardinals were right there, but it was obviously volatile in the last few minutes.
3:36And then the Panthers had a million chances to pick off Watson, and then they did pick him off.
3:42And then you get the late hit and just a bizarre game.
3:46The Browns and Panthers just neither deserved a win, really.
3:49So one of those games. Got there with the totals for the most part.
3:54Tough. I mean, September's tough, right? We kind of knew the Chargers would be there, and obviously they didn't cover for fluky reasons.
4:01But I thought it was a really tough card, all things considered.
4:05Yeah, I had a profitable week. It could have been really good at the Rams.
4:10I had a pending teaser. I tried to middle it.
4:14That Rams PI was just – I still can't believe that they threw that flag.
4:19Where do you stand on the NFL potentially? I know they tried it before and it never worked because they just never overturned anything.
4:27But my one group – the UFL system seems to work.
4:30But like final two minutes, why not just actually utilize the eye in the sky consistently when you get a – like
4:37it just sporadically every once in a while you'll see the eye in the sky.
4:42It's like, oh, we picked up the flag or there was no foul.
4:47But it's like once every other game they pull it out.
4:50Well, I like the idea of replay, but if they're not going to overturn the PI in the NFC Championship game with
4:58the Saints-Rams, ironically also Sean Payton and the Rams, then what's the point, right?
5:02I don't like spot fouls anyway when these 50-yard spot fouls for DPI.
5:06I think it should be like college rules. That's a separate argument.
5:10But if they're not going to rule it in replay and then the rules analyst is going to be completely different than some of this stuff.
5:19I mean even the ACC, you hear the audio.
5:22It's like such an obvious call, the Clemson, North Carolina thing.
5:26Four old guys are saying one thing and then the younger guy is like, wait a minute, wait a minute.
5:32This is a rule. And then they all say, oh yeah, yeah, let's move on.
5:37We got it. Like they were all in on it.
5:40It's just some of the stupidity in these conversations just opened your eyes.
5:45But you can say UFL, but if you're not going to actually turn stuff over, like I said, the Saints-Rams famously in
5:52the NFC title game, then what's the point of having anything?
5:56So I think it's a giant mess. I think they get involved too much.
6:00I think it's very difficult. Let's be honest. It's very difficult at warp speed, all this stuff happening, these old guys.
6:07I mean just the spotting of the ball. You get like the DUI walk from the old guy coming in and he has to go around a player.
6:16And it's just like the spotting. It's just all mayhem.
6:20But they don't want to legislate it properly even with instant replay.
6:24Yeah, I mean it was a really rough, rough day for the officials.
6:28I mean you almost had two games decided. Among teams favored to go to the playoffs, the PI on the Ravens was arguably even worse.
6:36I mean CeeDee Lamb is just grabbing his arm to prevent the interception.
6:41The defender's just trying to pick it off. And then they say like you almost had two games.
6:47One was decided by a bogus PI call, but almost two.
6:50Like that could swing seeding. It could swing whether you make the playoffs or not.
6:55And the hits on the quarterback. The Mahomes one, I even thought the Deshaun Watson one was very questionable.
7:01I don't think he really hit him in the head.
7:05But either way, these roughing the passer calls. The body weight's got to go.
7:09Especially when you brace yourself. There's nothing else you can do.
7:13I mean these quarterbacks are worth billions to the franchise.
7:16So I get the need to protect them. I honestly do.
7:20Because you don't want by week eight every backup playing.
7:23Because these defenders would tee off. I mean look what happened in the Oregon-USC game.
7:28You got guys celebrating those kind of hits. So I don't know what the right way is.
7:34But I do know fans are left upset and annoyed and turned off.
7:38But then again, we still watch and bet this stuff.
7:41Everyone's still watching. Yep. So maybe we're the idiots.
7:44Yep. All right. Let's get to week four. We'll cover every single game as always.
7:49We'll lock in our five contest picks throughout. And we'll build our Sunday six-pack, which is our five contest picks.
7:56Three from me, two from Doug, and then one from Evan.
8:00And for what it's worth, this is pretty interesting.
8:02Teams starting their non-week one starters are now 6-0 on the year.
8:06So we will get to every game. The Bears, by the way, we'll get to who they're starting.
8:12But if they start Tyson Bajant, they'll be looking to become the third team in NFL history to win three games with
8:20three different quarterbacks over the first four weeks of the season.
8:23But before we get started, here's a word about the king of sportsbooks, DraftKings.
8:28The Action Network podcast has teamed up with DraftKings.
8:31And with football back, they have got a great new offer for our listeners.
8:36Whether you're locked into the early slate, the primetime matchup, or following your favorite team every Sunday, DraftKings is now available in
8:43all 50 states, from New York to California. So no matter where you are, you can stay connected in one app.
8:50If you're new to DraftKings, sign up with the code Action Network, spend $5 and get 150 in total rewards.
8:56That's code Action Network. Download the DraftKings sports app and keep football at your fingertips all season long.
9:02DraftKings, the crown is yours. It's another fabulous weekend.
9:05Let's check out the marquee matchups we'll all end up betting for week four.
9:10All right, let's kick things off with Thursday night football.
9:13Steelers are a two and a half point road favorite at Cleveland.
9:17Total has come down to 38 and a half, due slightly to the under at DraftKings.
9:22I've talked about this in the past. I think a friend of mine, Cleve Thier, he brought this up a while back first.
9:30But first time head coaches have really struggled in their first Thursday night game historically.
9:35So it's like a new, it's an odd prep, right?
9:38Short week. And they've especially struggled when it's early in the year when you're still trying to sort things out.
9:45Since 2000, first time head coaches in their first Thursday night football game are 20 and 40 straight up.
9:51As home dogs, 3 and 18 straight up, 6 and 14 against the spread.
9:56And when it's early in the season over the first eight weeks, 5 and 19 straight up, 6 and 18 against the spread.
10:03Home dogs, 0 and 7 straight up, 1 and 6 against the spread.
10:08So when I look at this game, well, before I share my thoughts, Doug, do you have anything here on Thursday night
10:15in what should be a fairly ugly game? Yeah, I know the Browns are 2 and 1 and tied for first place.
10:22And the winner of this game takes over first place.
10:25But I still don't believe in Cleveland. I thought Watson got away with a lot.
10:30Now he's played better than he did in week one.
10:34So there's something to be said about that. But they still have a delta of minus 17 point differential, which can be misleading through three games.
10:42I get it. But they're not good. Now the defense is much better than maybe we thought losing Garrett.
10:49But, you know, they've had some pieces like Jared Verse who've been really effective.
10:53I think for me, I would be betting Pittsburgh if there wasn't this long list of like Cleveland just dominating Pittsburgh on these Thursdays.
11:01And then home underdogs in this division, as you very well know, stuck, always like cover.
11:06So I'm just gun shy to bet against the Browns.
11:10But they easily, I don't think they handle success well.
11:13This is what I was talking about last week.
11:16Are they professionally mature enough to get a big win and then practice the right way all week?
11:22Now are they going to do it after back-to-back wins and to your point, a short week with a new coach?
11:29The problem is I don't think much of McCarthy.
11:32I do think a highly of both defenses, though, at least definitely the Steelers.
11:37And Rodgers should be able to do enough, but he's not effective under pressure at this age.
11:42So, I mean, I'm staying away, but I cannot bet Cleveland.
11:46I just can't. I don't know if I'll do it the rest of the year.
11:51Yeah, Watson was, he was, I think the Tampa game where he went 24-30 for 238, it was a lot of dink and dunk.
11:59He had a couple long passes, the 55-yarder to Boston.
12:02But last week he was really bad. I mean, 16 of 30, 144 against the Panthers defense that was dropping like flies.
12:09I think he had no big-time throws, three turnover-worthy plays, but he finished with two touchdowns and no interceptions.
12:15So, it could have went a lot worse. So, I, the sample size over the last couple years, he's still terrible.
12:22He looked terrible last week. I think the Tampa game was more of an aberration.
12:27And I think it's also noteworthy that there's, Elton Jenkins is going to be out.
12:32And that means Weikler is going to start at center.
12:36He's unplayable. The only reason he didn't get cut is because the rookie Brailsford, who was hurt, got hurt in camp.
12:43So, that against the Steelers defensive line, it could lead to some interior pressure, some Watson mistakes.
12:48Now, the Steelers, I think they did look a lot better against the Bengals.
12:53And I thought getting Pittman back was very helpful, especially on, like, third downs.
12:57And they just need his presence out there. I am a bit concerned with some of the injuries in the Steelers secondary.
13:05I mean, Joey Porter, I guess, is just never going to play.
13:09He's out again, even though he was trending towards playing.
13:12Ramsey is banged up. You know, you have Deshaun Elliott on IR.
13:16Brandon Echols is banged up. So, like, your corner situation, really the whole secondary, but it's pretty dicey.
13:22But is Pittsburgh the team? I mean, is Cleveland the team to really take advantage of that?
13:27I don't really think so. So, I think this should be at three.
13:32The Browns can't really run the ball, which is where the Steelers are at their weakest.
13:37So, yeah, I think that, and you have that whole first-time coaches.
13:41The Browns easily could be 0-3, right? Like, without the weather delay, one or two bounces last week, they're 0-3.
13:48So, yeah, I think the Steelers and Rodgers will do enough.
13:51Watson will make some mistakes against this defensive line.
13:54And I think the Steelers get it done. So, at 2-1⁄2, it would be Steelers or nothing.
14:00And I think the Steelers are, if you're looking for action, a good money line, parlay piece, maybe pair them with Baltimore.
14:07I also like, shout out Nick Giffen, if you follow him on the award-winning Action Network app.
14:13He bet Rodgers no interception at, like, minus 115.
14:16Rodgers, historically, doesn't turn the ball over. He has an interception in each of the first three games.
14:22And they were all bullshit. Like, drop, tipped passes that should have been, I mean, last week, it's right off the guy's hand, right to a safety.
14:31So, I'm sorry, he didn't have one against Atlanta, but he had one each of the past two weeks.
14:37And they weren't his fault. So, I actually like that look.
14:40Evan, do you have anything on Thursday night football with the Browns and the Steelers?
14:45I mean, historically, you can go back and forth with both teams in terms of how they performed.
14:51If I was going to bet the game, I kind of liked Cleveland.
14:56I just thought there was a little bit of value at the 2-1⁄2.
15:00Deshaun's been terrible in the first half, so I think that comes back to the median a little bit.
15:06He's like one of the bottom five quarterbacks, EPA, success rate, first half.
15:11So, I think that just gets a little bit easier, especially after his first home game already.
15:16So, that would be the way I would look at it.
15:20So, Browns are also a classic long teaser piece if you are looking for another teaser piece.
15:25I'll get to the teasers later. But low total, 2-1⁄2 point home dog that you can get up over 8.
15:32But for me, it's Steelers or nothing. Look out for that center position.
15:36It could be a disaster for Cleveland against that Pittsburgh defensive line.
15:40All right, let's move on to our first best bets.
15:44Doug, I'll let you kick things off. You're headed across the pond.
15:47Yeah, I mean, look, there's been some early sharp money on Washington plus 3.5.
15:52And I see a lot of likable things. Now, last week's game, I'm not completely overreacting because statistically, Seattle was right there in many ways.
16:00But Daniel Jones, historically, not good as a favorite.
16:039-14 against the spread. Much better in the underdog role.
16:07But Marcus Mariota, the underlying stats with him have actually been quite impressive.
16:11So, I think, obviously, they faced a really good team.
16:14And the game was weird with turnovers. But they were excellent against the run, by the way.
16:20They were excellent against the run this year. They have been, I should say.
16:24And Jaden Daniels is traveling with the team. Would it be completely crazy if he played?
16:30What do you think, Stock? I don't think he's going to play.
16:34But I guess there's some upside there. Yeah. But I also think I've continued to think that the market thinks that the
16:41gap between Daniels and Mariota is wider than I have it.
16:45I mean, Mariota, for my money, is the best backup in the league.
16:49And yeah, you're right. I mean, the Seahawks dominated that box score.
16:53But bottom line, I mean, even if you take away the pick six, they put up 26 points against the Seattle defense.
17:00It doesn't give up anything to anybody. And Mariota threw three touchdowns, no interceptions.
17:05So, yeah, I get that they were outgained 6.8 to 4 yards per play.
17:09But you have to be impressed with what Mariota did to that defense, which almost no one has done over the last year except like Stafford.
17:18Right. And it's 3.5. I think it closes 3.
17:21So, I think there's going to be line value.
17:24It's not going to 4. And the commanders have the 25% stuff rate, which is the best of the NFL.
17:31And they're allowing 3.8 yards per carry on the ground and zero rushing touchdowns.
17:35So, I've been pretty impressed. I thought this was a horrible defense that the Eagles struggled against.
17:41Well, maybe it's not because they faced Saquon. But, yeah, Mariota's been great.
17:45And you're getting 3.5. And the Colts, they've had – it's a tough stretch of games they've had.
17:51So, you know, I always kind of think about this is the time of year, and we'll talk about the Raiders.
17:58But, like, what's left in the tank after these big games?
18:02Now, Washington's coming off a big game, obviously. But I'll gladly take the 3.5 with Washington because I think they can win outright.
18:09Yeah, I have no real feel. I mean, the Washington run defense has been good.
18:14They're blitzing a ton. So, Flores Disciple is their new defensive coordinator.
18:18And a lot of times what Flores does is he blitzes what people don't truly understand.
18:23It's like early downs. Flores is blitzing a lot to stop the run, to clog up.
18:29Not only are you getting after the passer on passing downs, but to clog up gaps on running downs.
18:35And I think that has been part of the reason why Washington's run defense has been effective.
18:41This year, it's been much better than I had anticipated, especially right off the bat.
18:45So, if you can slow down Jonathan Taylor, this Colts passing attack is still pretty limited without Alec Pierce.
18:52And you can look at Indy's schedule one of two ways.
18:55Yeah, they've had a brutal stretch. But maybe they're a little better than we might think because they face Baltimore, Kansas City, and Houston.
19:03So, that's as hard as it gets for your first three weeks.
19:07A lot of this will come down to travel, how the teams handle going overseas, the early kick.
19:13Historically, I think favorites have done pretty well in these international games.
19:17Evan, do you have anything on that? Yeah, they've crushed internationally.
19:21But it's like 41 and then 17. I can pull it up right now.
19:25But straight up ATS, they've done incredibly well. And especially favorites over the hook as well.
19:31Got it. So, yeah, nothing for me there. But I don't blame you for taking the hook with Washington.
19:37But that's a pass. I won't have anything on the international game to get things started early in the morning.
19:44But for my favorite bet of the week, I am going.
19:47Let me check the updated odds here. Yep, still 2.5.
19:51I'm going with the Houston Texans minus 2.5 at home against the Dallas Cowboys.
19:55Right off the bat, for starters, I like the situational spot.
19:59Texans desperate for a win. 0-3 at home facing a Cowboys team.
20:03Hitting the road after a Brazil game following a devastating loss.
20:06And Houston, I mean, they've played the Bills, Bengals, and a road game at the Colts.
20:12And they could have won all three games. I mean, they were an interception away.
20:17A wide open interception by Lasseter that he dropped from beating the Bills.
20:21Everyone's darling in week one at home with Nico Collins, who should be back this week.
20:26This is a completely different offense with Nico Collins on the field.
20:30I mean, you can look at the numbers all the way down the board.
20:35You could go all the way down. You could go to the rushing offense.
20:39They're averaging one yard more per carry with Nico Collins on the field because of the respect that he garners.
20:46So the running game should be more effective here.
20:49And this Dallas defense, not only are they bad, they're dead last in EPA per play.
20:54They're now completely decimated by injuries, especially in the secondary.
20:58So I think Houston can get its run game going.
21:01Nico Collins can take advantage of this secondary. Stroud should have time to throw.
21:06Dallas has been running a lot of single high.
21:08Stroud and Collins historically have absolutely shredded single high.
21:11Now the Texans linebacker injuries are a bit of concern.
21:15Like they've had, I mean, they've had like four or five linebacker injuries.
21:19I don't think Al Shayer is going to play.
21:22There's a chance you could have two rookies out there at the second level, which is a bit concerning.
21:28But this is still an elite dominant defense. Arguably the best trio of corners in the league.
21:34Arguably the best edge rush duo in the league.
21:37I think they can take advantage of Dallas's tackles here.
21:40Get after Dak, create some negative plays, force some turnovers.
21:44And I just don't see Dallas providing much resistance.
21:46Assuming Nico Collins is back and he practiced today.
21:49That is my assumption. So I like the Texans here to get it done.
21:54Anything under a field goal, even minus two and a half juice, minus 115, minus 120 is fine.
22:00For what it's worth, 0-3 teams in week four versus teams with at least one win.
22:0547-25-1 against the spread since 2005, 65%. And if you just look since 2015, 24-9-1, 73%.
22:11I think the Texans get off the schneid here.
22:14Pretty crazy to think with these two teams, you could either have Dallas dropping to 1-3.
22:19Or Houston dropping to 0-4. Which would pretty much, I mean, based on history, pretty much eliminate.
22:24This is a playoff game for Houston, in my opinion.
22:28I think the only two teams over the past, since 2000, that have made the playoffs after an 0-3 start, they're both Texans.
22:35Both Texans teams. One of them was last year with Houston.
22:39But I think the Texans get it done. Too many injuries on the Dallas secondary.
22:44Nico Collins back puts this over the top for me.
22:47Two and a half still out there. Give me Houston.
22:51I, at a quick glance, I liked Dallas, but then I thought about it more.
22:55And, you know, the reason I liked the Colts against the Texans last week was I thought there was a coaching edge.
23:03And D'Amico Ryan's, like, punting and all that stuff on fourth and one in positive territory.
23:08I liked Schottenheimer coming into the year, but I think there needs to be some concern here.
23:14Just the botching of the clock management. I thought he made a huge mistake at the end of the first half in
23:21week one by calling that timeout before third down.
23:24Just, it's reckless and it ends up costing you games.
23:27I mean, yes, Dak threw the pick instead of punting on the next play, but that timeout was stupid.
23:33And then how he handled the end of the game situation versus Baltimore.
23:38And you mentioned the travel back from Brazil. I have no desire to back Dallas here, even though I think their offense is good.
23:46And I thought the defense did a really good job, especially, you know, in short yardage situations against Baltimore.
23:52But you mentioned those stats, teams 0-3 and 0-3 ATS, by the way.
23:56But 0-3, just season on the line. And the Texans are unlucky this year.
24:01Second unluckiest by some metrics. Bucks being the unluckiest in terms of the results.
24:06And I know Sharp Group on the over. I will pass that along.
24:10But, yeah, I can't get involved here with Dallas, despite what I originally thought.
24:14But I've, you know, cooler heads have prevailed, so to speak.
24:18Yeah, Dallas right now, pure, pure, pure over team.
24:21You couldn't pay me to... Yeah, the first halves are like 24-2 or something insane to the over in their last, like, 26 games.
24:29There's something ridiculous like that. That's crazy. Yeah, I think Texans get it done.
24:34Just the Dallas defense is not going to provide any resistance.
24:37And the Dallas offense is elite, but the Houston defense is elite.
24:41So I think that they can get a couple of stops here.
24:45You'll get their best effort. And, yeah, I mean, Nico...
24:48I mean, D'Amico Rines continues to underwhelm me with in-game management decisions, strategy.
24:53But Schottenheimer, yeah, he was really bad last week.
24:56You have to run the ball there once at the very end because you either score a touchdown or you run the clock down.
25:04I mean, nothing was worse than Sean Payton. That was the worst.
25:08Yeah, similar. It's fireable. And then Dallas doesn't kick it short.
25:11John McDermott's like, see? Yeah. So I'm going with Houston minus 2.5.
25:15Doug is taking the hook with the Commanders. Evan, where are you looking?
25:19A few things before I start. So, yeah, Cowboys are also 78% of tickets right now.
25:25Biggest public side according to Action. So, you know, nothing can go wrong there.
25:29And then to answer your question from earlier, favorites 42-15-1 straight up, 35-23 ATS international games.
25:35So definitely a good stretch. But it has come back to even in terms of the ATS a little bit.
25:41In terms of the bet I like, it's one of the best games of the week in my opinion.
25:48And it's Denver and the 49ers. I like Denver in this game.
25:52It's a little bit of a weird week. I went through all these matchups.
25:56And every time I got to a side I liked, I looked at the injury report.
26:01And there was something to keep me off. If it's the Carolina corners or actually kind of like the Titans this week.
26:09And then you look like half the offensive line got hurt last week.
26:13There's all sorts of different things that I think this made this week a little bit difficult.
26:19I landed on Denver because San Francisco is literally, it's like walking in front of a buzzsaw.
26:24It's one of the best offensive starts. We've really seen DVOA 3-0 starts.
26:29Like all sorts of different things and measures. You could look for San Francisco and how Purdy's played.
26:34Been really unbelievable. You know, other than the Rams game, I don't think the competition's been fantastic.
26:40And then you look at Denver. I mean, other than what you see with Waddle who's supposedly healthy but in a boot.
26:47Denver is relatively healthy going into this game. And the line just sits there at two and a half.
26:54Three at DraftKings, which is the reason why I landed on the bet.
26:58Because I just think at the current moment, getting the three holds the most value in the best games of the weekend.
27:05And belongs at the top of our rundown. So I think Denver is, and I'll say one more interesting fact from just a betting market standpoint.
27:14Right now, about 59% of tickets on San Francisco.
27:17I assume it will close in that place where San Francisco is the public side.
27:22It's been funny that since the start of 2024, Bo Nix, 20 games where the other teams receiving majority ticket support.
27:29They're 14-6 against the spread. Most profitable quarterback. Every week, people just seem to fade this guy.
27:34I'll take the three on the road and the great defense.
27:38Yeah, I mean, the 40, maybe the Broncos can get the run game going here.
27:43San Francisco can't defend the run. They have so many injuries along the defensive line.
27:48And, Doug, you got a little unlucky last week.
27:51It's just not the same defense without Bosa, who got hurt late in the week.
27:56Right. Shocking another San Francisco injury. But it's just not that they just can't generate pressure without Bosa.
28:02The San Francisco offense, though, has been incredible. 64% dropback success rate.
28:06That's number one in the league by a wide margin.
28:09Number two is Baltimore at 54%. They're 12% higher than the number two team in the league.
28:15Granted, they played the Cardinals, the Dolphins, and then the Rams in Australia.
28:19Jet-lagged Rams. Yeah. So, like, you have to take that with a grain of salt.
28:24And, like, at some point, do all of these injuries catch up to them?
28:28At wide receiver, like, well, is Mike Evans going to be fully healthy?
28:33I think Trent Williams is a go. That's one injury they can never overcome is when Trent Williams is out, the offense falls off a clip.
28:41I think he's going to play, but he's dealing with the stinger.
28:45We don't know. Thursday injury report will tell us more.
28:49But that would be a major loss. One of the things that does worry me about the Broncos, they're having extreme trouble with 12 and 22 personnel.
28:57Tight ends, specifically, passing out of heavy sets. They're really struggling.
29:01They really miss Cooper setting the edge in wide runs, especially from heavy personnel.
29:06So, Shanahan could cook some things up here. But the San Francisco defense, especially without Bosa now, all the injuries along the
29:13defensive line, it's getting a little bit dicey. And now there's just so many injuries at wide receiver.
29:19So, I don't blame you for taking the three.
29:22Nothing there for me. Sharp group. A sharp, respected group took plus three.
29:26That's why there's two and a halves everywhere. I kind of like the two and a half, minus two and a half side.
29:34Just because coming off such a big win is a flat spot.
29:38And the Niners, honestly, it's been a joke schedule.
29:41Like, yeah, they had to go to Australia, but they got the jet lag Rams and they had a bunch of time off after it.
29:49And then they get the Dolphins, not only the Dolphins and Cardinals, but the Dolphins and Cardinals at home.
29:55And then you're at home again. And you're at home again.
29:59They haven't played like a true road game yet, which is absurd.
30:03And they've played two of the worst. Maybe the Rams jet lagged because of their stupid travel.
30:08Like, maybe there are three of the, what, the five worst teams, right?
30:13So, they've looked the part. Now, I think they're catching Denver in the right spot.
30:18And for me, these wide receivers getting hurt, as long as Kittle's healthy.
30:22And to your point, Trent Williams, like, I don't overreact too much.
30:26But yeah, the defense, you know, is susceptible. And if I don't trust the Broncos, really, they've played like three good quarters of football.
30:34So, there's a giant question mark there for me with the Broncos.
30:38So, yeah, the Broncos could easily be 0-3. But they've done what the Broncos did and they just win every close game.
30:45The second half against Jags, you know, that whole thing.
30:48But really, the Jags outplayed them for most of the game.
30:52And then obviously, coming back from 16-0, they looked the part.
30:56And then the pick six, I mean, that's part of football.
30:59But then at the very end, the penalties was crazy.
31:03But honestly, Sean Payton's screwing up the clock management.
31:06I don't think other coaches do that. Like, not running first and second down is literally fireable.
31:11It was like a buck for the left. Yeah, and maybe Davis Webb is starting to get it.
31:17You don't have to do that. Davis Webb and Payton are like figuring out the play calling.
31:23But Knicks is just, he just finds ways to cover and win.
31:27He's just, he's very good late. Like, it's late in games.
31:30It's pretty crazy. This is an ugly one, boys.
31:33Like, there's a lot of reasons to not like it, which is why I think it's kind of sneaky.
31:40And I just think it's, there's just so many voices.
31:43Yeah, so many. One note I will give you, and this is one I just love.
31:48Teams covering by 10 plus points per game on the season, minimum three games.
31:5347 and 72 against the spread over the last 15 years.
31:56Which is just, it's obvious, right? 10 points per game.
32:00It's ridiculous. And it comes back. It's Jags, Raiders, Niners, and Vikings.
32:04Which, interesting enough, I think, you know, probably feel different about a bunch of those teams.
32:09But interesting nonetheless. Let's get to the marquee game of the week between the aforementioned Jacksonville Jaguars and the Cincinnati Bengals.
32:16The Bengals are two and a half point home favorites.
32:19Minus 115 total. Pretty high. 51 and a half.
32:22Doug, you like the Jags here? I do. I think we found a lot about, found out a lot about Cincinnati in the last game.
32:30Also, like, this is kind of a fun stat.
32:33When the Jags win, they actually smoke teams. Eight of Jacksonville's last 10 wins have come by at least two touchdowns.
32:40Six of the eight by 22 or more points.
32:43Cincy's good, obviously. But they may not be as good as we thought the first couple weeks.
32:49That's some of it. I just think this game should be pick them.
32:53And Jacksonville's pretty good. I mean, I think, you know, the spot losing to Denver was a really tough spot.
33:00Otherwise, they've been pretty impressive. And I don't like the rest of the card.
33:04But I think the Jags are going to win.
33:07Yeah, I can't quite get there. I would need a flat three to think about Jacksonville.
33:13The Jags are not the same team. They've been incredible under Liam Cohen at home.
33:18They're just a covering machine. Not the same team away from home.
33:22And I am worried about their defense. Once the turnover regression comes.
33:26And this year, like, look, they beat. Drake May was completely lost.
33:30And Deshaun Watson. Both at home. So I think Burrow will have plenty of opportunities to pick apart this defense.
33:36I do think Jacksonville, though, the over makes sense.
33:39Like, why it's this high. I think Jacksonville will have opportunities to move the ball.
33:44Especially through the air. Now, since he's not blitzing, which is smart.
33:48You don't want to blitz a Liam Cohen offense.
33:51So if their defensive line can get natural pressure on Lawrence and force him into mistakes, then, I think, since he's winning this game.
33:59But what really worries me about Cincinnati, their linebackers still can't cover.
34:03This is like such a conundrum for. I'm so curious to see what Liam Cohen does here.
34:09Because Liam Cohen, you have three really good receivers.
34:12So you can spread out teams. And then you also have Brenton Strange.
34:16And the Jags will do that a lot. Spread teams out.
34:19And why that might make sense is because the Bengals just put their nickel, Jalen Davis, on IR.
34:25Their backup nickel is also on IR. So what are they doing?
34:29They're moving Dax Hill inside to the slot. Well, Dax Hill last year, part of the Cincinnati defensive turnaround was they kicked Dax Hill outside.
34:38And he was much more comfortable. He was one of the highest rated corners, I think, over the past, over the final eight weeks of the year.
34:47Once he moved to the outside and then Jalen Davis, who isn't great, just kind of solidified, was just like an average player in the slot.
34:55But really, part of their defensive resurgence was Dax Hill was thriving on the outside.
35:00Well, now you move Dax Hill back inside. What does that mean?
35:04He's probably better than Jalen Davis, but you're going to have a drop-off on the outside.
35:09And you might get DJ Ivey or maybe the rookie to Cario Davis.
35:14They might split time. So the secondary really could take a hit.
35:18But on the other side of the argument is the Bengals cannot stop 12 personnel.
35:23They can't defend tight ends. It's one of the reasons I loved Pittsburgh last week.
35:27So do the Jags then go, because the Bengals' safeties and linebackers are a mess in coverage, do the Jags, do they
35:35not spread them out as much and test these corners?
35:38And then that way, like, and then just go heavier personnel.
35:42But then Dax Hill might be able to play more on the outside.
35:46Obviously, they're going to mix it up, and I'm curious to see that mix.
35:51But I am very worried about the Cincinnati secondary just because of that trickle-down effect.
35:56And the Jags do have very, very good wide receivers, and they're deep.
36:00And they have lots of – and they can also attack with 12 personnel, where the Bengals last year were the worst
36:07in NFL history, I think allowing 6.6 yards per play.
36:10So there's a lot of ways for Liam Cohen to attack this defense.
36:15So, yeah. I have a stat for you, too.
36:18And I want to get your take on it because this applies definitely like in hockey with the Vegas flu and NBA with certain cities, Atlanta, Toronto.
36:27There's a stat here, and I think it's interesting.
36:30And I think it's going to be interesting to see if there's actually validity to it.
36:35I mean, we won't know until after the fact.
36:38But teams going to Miami – sorry, teams with a road game against Miami on deck.
36:43Okay? 15 and 26 against the spread the last five years.
36:47And I think it's interesting because after this, since he goes to Miami, and then they have a bye week.
36:53So, like, I don't know if the Miami flu really can be a thing in football just because there's such few games and teams.
37:01But I remember the Packers laid an egg in L.A.
37:05against the Rams around Halloween, and Aaron Rodgers called out his team not having the right priorities.
37:10And they might have been undefeated going into that game, I think, too.
37:14I just wonder if there's, like, that element. It's not part of my handicap, but I came across the stat and wanted
37:22to bring it up and get your thoughts about – I mean, they have Miami and then the bye.
37:28Like, you just wonder if they're making social plans and everything ahead of time.
37:33It's possible. There could be something there. I was – I actually – I had a thought on the favorites in the
37:40international games that I just – that I didn't share earlier.
37:44Why would – because, like, why would favorites be so much more successful against the spread?
37:49Well, it's a unique situation, right? So, like, unique prep, unique travel.
37:53The favorites are usually better coached teams, right? Better run organizations.
37:56So, their edge in handling all of that stuff might not be fully quantified in the market.
38:02So, maybe that's why favorites do well. I know the Miami flu, that's a big thing in the NBA, right?
38:09Oh, yeah. Miami, Toronto, Atlanta, New York. Those are the four big ones.
38:13I remember Flip Saunders when I was doing NBA Tonight with him.
38:17You know, there's so much downtime because the show was on at, like, 3 in the morning.
38:23He said Rasheed Wallace came and told him, coach, beginning of the season, these are the four cities.
38:28Don't count on me. And he named them. And then Flip goes, and he was right.
38:34Just totally. But, like, getaway day, I think, in baseball on Thursday, if a team's headed to Miami next or something like that, that's always part of it.
38:43But you don't know. Just because a game goes a certain way doesn't mean that was the single reason.
38:49But there's definitely been some Sunday afternoon tips in Toronto where teams are just completely checked out.
38:55I wonder if Rasheed Wallace's technicals in getting thrown out are correlated with the city.
39:00Trying to get kicked out. The city that he was playing in.
39:04All right. Time for my weekly Ravens filibuster. Let the filibustering begin.
39:08Had minus three last week. We'll count it as a loss because I said minus three and a half.
39:14I bet it again. I mean, Henry getting stopped at the one.
39:18He's not been good in short yardage situations. And the Ravens are supposed to go under center more.
39:24Sneak the ball. No team has ever been stopped three sneaks in a row, three times in a row from the goal line in NFL history.
39:33Just sneak it. Or if you don't want to deal with Lamar, the Chiefs need to do this, too.
39:39The Chiefs got stopped on a fourth and one against the Dolphins.
39:43It almost cost them the cover. Get your tight end to do it.
39:47Just motion your tight end. Push them. It works every time.
39:51When you have Lamar, you don't need to go Wildcat.
39:54Wildcat, you do that when you have a quarterback that's not super fast.
39:58You want a running back with the ball and stuff.
40:02Having Lamar gives you the edge because the defense knows there's the threat of the pass.
40:07Or more of a threat of the pass. I mean, the running back could always throw it.
40:12But going Wildcat... I never have any confidence when they direct snap it to Henry.
40:17Wildcat's kind of dumb in general. But doing it when you have Lamar defeats the whole...
40:23Like, Lamar is the Wildcat. You run Wildcat every day because he's such a good runner.
40:28So why would you go to a different running back taking the shotgun?
40:32Why do shotgun? Like, to your point, just go sneak.
40:36It's all so dumb. Yeah. Ravens 11.5 point favorites at home.
40:39Total 42.5. I don't have any strong opinions on this game, sadly.
40:43I slightly lean to the under, if anything. But just because of the offensive...
40:48I think both offensive lines could struggle. Right? The Ravens have lost...
40:52They lost Tyrell Lindebaum in the offseason. They had three options to replace him.
40:56All three are now potentially out for the year.
40:59One's already out for the year. The next two are out long term.
41:04So Ioane, their rookie, who I've loved. He's nasty.
41:07He's looked really good at guard. He slid over to centers.
41:10They had no centers left. I think they're going to keep him there.
41:15But now you're probably going to have... Andrew Voorhees, maybe, who was really bad.
41:19And then we don't know how... And this is the strength of the Titans' defense, is their interior defensive line.
41:26So could there be some issues there? The Ravens have had lots of pre-snap penalties.
41:31Now their offense has been incredible when they're not shooting themselves in the foot.
41:35But Rodney Stanley, still dealing with an injury. Even John Simpson, a little banged up.
41:40So their offensive line could just be a big mess.
41:44And then the Titans are now potentially... I don't know who they're going with, but they're down to their third string guard.
41:51If it's Antonio Mafi, who they picked up recently from the Raider, he is unplayable.
41:56Arguably, I think the worst guard in the NFL besides the kid down in Miami.
42:01He's unplayable. He will just get... He will get Cam Ward killed.
42:05And I'm out on Cam Ward. I mean, it's just...
42:08It's ugly. It's... That pick that he threw, the nonchalantness, that there's no explosiveness.
42:13Their running game's actually been okay. The pass blocking's actually been better than you might think.
42:18So maybe they can have some success running it on Baltimore.
42:22Maybe there's a little bit of a hangover with the Ravens.
42:25But it's hard for me, unless the offensive line is just a complete disaster, there's snap issues.
42:31It's hard for me to see Lamar not moving the ball with ease against this Titans secondary.
42:36So, yeah, I mean... Slight lean to the under.
42:39I just don't see the Tennessee offense doing much of anything.
42:43I think the number is about right. So no hot take on Ravens, Titans this week.
42:48I do think Ravens are... If you need a Moneyline Parlay piece, if you need an extra one to par with like
42:56a small favorite, they should be good. And I was...
42:59They haven't been good in these spots, right? Do you trust them if you're in Survivor and stuff like that?
43:06But the Titans are just that bad, huh? Yeah.
43:09I mean, the Titans are... They don't do... And their special teams are a disaster.
43:13Everything is bad with this Titans team. The only thing...
43:17Like, their running game has been okay. Their RPO game has been okay.
43:21But they don't even run it. They run it like 8% of the time.
43:26And Cam Ward is just... He's not getting better.
43:29And there's just... There's no pop. The play calling is bad.
43:32There's nothing really to like about this Titans team except their defensive line.
43:37Who's gonna... Their defensive line has to keep them in this game because the Ravens' offensive line is dealing with a lot of injuries.
43:45They're shaking up a number of positions. Like, that's where you would make the case for Tennessee.
43:50But... Like... Even if, like, Tennessee flukes their way up to, like, two school...
43:55Up 14 somehow. Like... Like, Lamar can come back with ease against this defense and this secondary.
44:00So... But I'm not laying 11.5. Um... I'm right on the number.
44:04Uh... I do have a slight lean to the under.
44:08Feels to me like... Uh... I don't know. I'll call it, like, 20...
44:1227... 14-ish. Uh... 27-13-ish. Um... But there's... There's some things just that give me pause with the Ravens with the offensive line.
44:19The travel from Brazil. Um... But, uh... Yeah. So, nothing for me here.
44:23Is that right? Fourth... Fourth string center? Yeah. Well, it's gonna be their guard.
44:28They're moving the rookie guard over. Fourth string? They've lost three centers to injury.
44:33God. For... Basically for the year now. So... Um...
44:36So now you're moving your rookie guard to center.
44:39And he's only had, like, the eight snaps last week.
44:42I think he had maybe, like, 15 at Penn State at center.
44:46So... That's a big unknown. You're going up against a really good defensive line.
44:51Uh... So... And then you're gonna have a really bad guard in there.
44:55Ronnie Stanley's hurt. So, like, this offensive line... Under smart.
44:58Under smart. Under smart. It'll be messy. Favorite betting in the game would be under, but I...
45:04As of right now, I haven't played anything. All right.
45:07Let's get to the grossest betting game of the week.
45:10Mm. Mm. What's that smell? It stinks. What do you mean?
45:14It's trash. The sweet, sweet trash. The trash is a gold mine.
45:18Gold mine. And we're talking... Gold mine. Minnesota against Miami.
45:21The 3-0 Vikings are, at DraftKings, 10.5 point favorites.
45:24Total 38.5. Doug, you like the under here? I mean, I do, and it's just obvious, right?
45:30Minnesota's offense has been terrible, right? How about this stat?
45:33There's a bunch of good stats. Um, 50 teams have started 3-0 in the last decade, okay?
45:39These Vikings rank last offensively in EPA per play of all 50 teams.
45:43Um, obviously fluky on offense, and it's not like...
45:46They're on pace to be outgained by 1,300 yards.
45:49It's not like Kyler Murray instilled any confidence moving forward, so you really want to lay double digits.
45:55The problem is this Miami team is so bad.
45:58They just lost their best player, A'shan, out for the year.
46:02They're 0-3 ATS, too. I mean, the Chiefs game, you know, maybe came down to the rough in the passer, but still.
46:09And they're just not an NFL team, as I've said the last couple weeks.
46:13And we have Flores going against the team he's suing, which has to be a first in NFL history.
46:20And he's going to bring the heat, and this Miami team's kind of tanking, right?
46:25They're not in any rush to improve. I was actually going to pitch to you, like, should we be...
46:31Like, should we just bet them? I mean, how many covers are they going to have this year?
46:37Yeah. Usually four or five is the lowest in a season for the worst ATS team.
46:42I said I'd be happy if I never played the Dolphins this year.
46:46I haven't yet. I did this week. There's 11s out there.
46:50I had to take 11. Did you? Did you have to?
46:54Just kidding. I really... I don't have to. But this Minnesota team...
46:58I'm not teasing. ...is... Because I also think that Jefferson's not playing.
47:02Like, he didn't practice today. You have the Dolphins at home.
47:05Why rush him back? Why risk him? You also have then New Orleans and then a bye.
47:11So you could hold him out for two weeks.
47:14But there's no reason to rush him back this week.
47:17And I don't think that they... And they've... For my numbers, they've been the luckiest team in the league, right?
47:24Like, outgamed by 200 yards against Green Bay. Get a bunch of calls.
47:28The fourth down goes against them. I mean, everything has gone their way.
47:32I mean, penalties, special teams, fourth downs. You name it.
47:36They've gotten every single break. Now, Flores has been incredible.
47:39But, I mean, they played... It's only three games, right?
47:42It's only three games. They played the Packers offense, which is broken.
47:46Like, we saw them against the Falcons at home.
47:49They played the Bucs offense, which is broken. And then they played the Bears in a storm where Caleb got hurt.
47:56And he was about to run in for a touchdown.
47:59They fumble at the one. They miss a chip shot field goal.
48:03So, like, they easily could be 0-3. I mean, they were about to get blown out by the Packers.
48:10If Caleb doesn't get hurt running in, they'd probably lose that game.
48:14And then last week, they had a 21% success rate and won the game.
48:18I mean, that is as low as you'll ever see.
48:22They won that game because of special teams. They get a 90-yard punt return touchdown.
48:27And then they hit... I love their kicker, Reichert.
48:30He hit from 54, 56, and 48. And the defense was incredible.
48:33But, like, it was a coin flip game on a down-to-down basis.
48:37They were even worse than the Bucs. They could be 0-3.
48:41But they're 3-0. And their offense has been statistically the worst in the league.
48:46They have a 32% success rate. 32! And they've played...
48:49They haven't played dominant defenses. They played the Bears, the Bucs, and the Packers.
48:54They have a 32% success rate. That's dead last.
48:57Miami's at 35. Their passing success rate is 33%.
49:00And that's some with Jefferson. That's dead last. Miami's at 38.
49:03So, like, how can this offense lay 11 without Jefferson?
49:07That's my assumption. Now, how's Miami going to move the ball?
49:10It's the Flores' revenge game. I'm petrified of what he's going to cook up here.
49:15This is the first time he's faced Miami since leaving and then the lawsuit.
49:20And Miami does nothing well. A-Chain's hurt. Willis has not been good against the Blitz this year.
49:25He holds the ball too long. They're going to have to just miraculously hit some explosives.
49:31He's going to have to use his legs a ton.
49:34I don't know. I'm not going to... I'm not going to sit here and tell you good things about Miami.
49:41They are the worst team. No, I mean, in my pick of a league, I've taken Miami off.
49:46Miami could get to 10 on, like, a touchdown late.
49:50You know, it's like 20-3. And they get a touchdown, a meaningless garbage touchdown, and they lose by 10.
49:56Because, like, this Minnesota offense is completely broken right now.
49:59And it's going to take time for Murray to...
50:02They can't run the ball. They're just doing nothing well right now.
50:06So, I'm plugging my nose, and I'm taking the 11 with Miami.
50:10It is the... I think the game that I'm dreading the most, and that I will dread the most, out of any game I bet this entire year.
50:19It's in the 4 o'clock window. There's only three games, so I'm going to have to watch a lot of it.
50:26You've got to watch. And it's going to be Miami versus Flores, who's just putting every single quarterback he's facing into a blender.
50:34And now it's Malik Willis without A-chain. So, yeah.
50:37I will say Miami has... Which, it's pretty funny.
50:40Miami is bad. I'm not going to say anything good about them.
50:44But Miami has faced the Raiders, 49ers, and Chiefs, who haven't lost a game.
50:49They're all... Yeah, 9-0. They're all undefeated. Now, part of that is because three of the games were against the Dolphins.
50:55But, yeah. This Minnesota's offense is broken right now.
50:58It's like, there's a world Minnesota wins this game 10-0.
51:02Yeah. I mean, I've been teasing. Like, I've taken Miami two out of three weeks in my pick-em.
51:08So, it's not like I'm like, ah, how could you ever take Miami?
51:12I think the team total is the most fascinating.
51:15First half is 6-1⁄2 for the Finns. Game is 13-1⁄2.
51:18I would be looking at unders in both. Like, I don't know if they score a touchdown in the first half.
51:25If Flores want... If he's out for blood, like we all assume he is, it could be a really defensive-minded first half.
51:32You got anything on this game, Evan? Honestly, this game scares the living crap out of me.
51:38I completely agree with you wholeheartedly. And I want to take Miami very, very bad.
51:43Because in this position, they're just the team that covers.
51:46But again, it's just way too scary to look at all around.
51:50I think, and honestly, the best bet you can make in this game is Malik Willis rushing yards.
51:56Because I think no matter what, he is going to get out of the pocket.
52:01And there has to be something there within that.
52:04I will say this. You got to do a ton of design runs for him, too.
52:09Correct. I will say this. This goes to the offense struggling for Minnesota.
52:14So Vikings averaging 137 passing yards per game. Worst mark in the NFL since 2003.
52:19Teams averaging 150 or less in their fourth game or later.
52:2255 and 83 ATS. 40%. So, I mean, forgetting even the line in the game.
52:27The fact that you've gotten to this point. And now you're laying that much.
52:32I just, you know, I don't know what else to do.
52:36Yeah. I mean, they haven't reached 250 yards in a game yet.
52:40Yeah. Baker had 42 yards rushing of their three opponents.
52:43He's the only one that really did anything. So 42 yards.
52:46That's pretty good. So there's a path for Willis there.
52:50Yeah. I mean, look, Minnesota's going to blitz a ton.
52:53So, like, the path for Miami to score is, you know, you pop an explosive.
52:58Like, you just, someone gets behind the defense. There's, so that's what Miami's going to have to do here.
53:04I have, like, some principles in the NFL where, like, my main principle, I want to buy low and sell high.
53:11And this fits everything. Like, Minnesota's 3-0, luckiest team in the league.
53:15Their offense is broken. Now laying double digits. Miami is 0-3.
53:19Straight up 0-3 against the spread. And I have to take it.
53:23So wish me luck. Godspeed to anyone following along.

56:21Limitations, terms, and conditions apply. You know when you try a new food and suddenly it's like, wait, how did I not know about this?
56:29It's Ryan Seacrest here. That is the reaction a lot of people are having when they first try Kewpie mayo.
56:36I'm cooking a lot more at home, and I sure did.
56:39It's the one with the red cap and the little baby on the bottle.
56:44You've probably seen it on TikTok. So what makes it different?
56:48Most mayonnaise uses whole eggs. Kewpie only uses egg yolks, giving it this rich umami flavor, which I love.
56:54It's smoother, deeper, almost buttery. And people put it on everything.
56:57You can put it on egg sandwiches, fries, burgers, even pizza crust.
57:01Once you notice Kewpie, you'll start seeing it everywhere.
57:04Chefs use it. Restaurants use it. People who really care about flavor use it.
57:09Food lovers use it. Never tried it? Grab the bottle with the red cap next time you're at the store.
57:16Put it on just about anything. Then you'll understand.
57:19You'll love its rich, bold flavor. Kewpie, the original Japanese mayonnaise.

57:56If the Dolphins don't cover this week, I won't promise I won't bet them on my own, but I will not bring
58:03them up as a bet on this podcast the rest of the year.
58:07This is the spot they have to cover. If they don't cover this week...
58:12Well, last week, too. I mean, last week was...
58:15But they could have. They were... They were right there.
58:18They were right there. I mean, look, with the roughing the pass, there was a defensive holding, too.
58:24But, like, they threw a pick on fourth down at midfield, and then the Chiefs had a short field and then scored a touchdown at the end.
58:33Like, they easily could have covered that game. It was 7-7, right?
58:37Like, early on, it was fun? Yeah. And the Chiefs' offense right now is worlds ahead of the Minnesota offense.
58:43Oh, yeah, worlds, yeah. Let's pick up the pace.
58:46Hurry this up, please. Just wanted to make it more exciting.
58:50And don't leave out anything. Hurry up, offense. Let's get to a couple games quickly.
58:55Rams, Eagles, Rams, three-point favorite at Philly. Looks like Puka Nakua is going to go.
59:00So, that's obviously important because he's one of the best receivers in the NFL.
59:05We'll see how healthy he is if he is a full-full go.
59:09But looks like he will play at three with Puka in.
59:12It's also important because they have a ton of injuries at tight ends.
59:16So, like, without Puka, the flexibility that McVay would have had, you know, with using all of his tight ends would have been a little bit more difficult.
59:26But right now, there is nothing... And, by the way, McVay has always traveled well.
59:31Sands, Australia. But traveled really well to the East Coast.
59:34There's nothing to really like about this Eagles team right now.
59:38Another new offensive coordinator. The offense isn't working. The interior offensive line is a mess.
59:43They can't run block. There's pass protection issues. I don't get how they're using Makai Lemon.
59:48There's no Dallas Goddard. The offense is ugly. I mean, they could only score seven points and barely by one second against the Bears defense.
59:56This is a team that needed a last second drive against Tennessee.
60:00Tennessee. And, look, they've played Tennessee, Chicago, and Washington.
60:03We're not talking about a murderer's row of defenses.
60:06And the offense looks completely broken. And, most surprisingly, it's the defense that's struggling.
60:11They're not getting pressure. The safety play has been poor.
60:14There's Jalen Carter's having a rough year. There's issues on the defense.
60:18I think Fangio is going to get it figured out.
60:21But, right now, that defense, that tackling is an issue.
60:25So, Eagles also on a short week here. I think Rams at three.
60:29I know it goes against the spot as Philly, right?
60:32Like, oh, they just look so bad. But, I think Rams are going to be focused here after that win that pretty much got stolen from them.
60:41And, they want revenge from a game that they completely blew last year.
60:45One of the worst beats I've ever had. I had Rams plus three and a half.
60:51It was the worst beat of the season. Yes.
60:54That arguably, that cost them the one seed and then maybe the Super Bowl.
60:58So, yeah. There's just nothing to really like about Philly right now.
61:02So, at three, it's Rams or nothing for me.
61:05Yeah. Typically, you want to back the teams that looked terrible the previous week, all that.
61:10And, the Rams, it is back-to-back road games, third and four weeks, right?
61:15That is a good point. Like, they've gone from Australia to home to Denver altitude.
61:20Now, out to the East Coast. And, it's like an older team.
61:24What is that? What is the residual impact? But, I just can't get there with Philly.
61:29Because, I mean, I faded Philly last week. They were fat and happy 2-0 but didn't look the part right.
61:36It's crazy. It was a Monday night game. They still were kind of flat, not up for the game.
61:42The score is a little misleading because they had the red rifle in the red zone in the first half.
61:48Instead of, you know, they probably would have at least had three points.
61:53But, still, they just weren't. The defense was flat.
61:56Ben Johnson just outcoached them. And, the defense outcoached whatever, the offense too.
62:00But, the Rams, I think this is a game.
62:03Like, I would definitely be fading the Rams if they were 2-1 or something like that off a big win in Denver.
62:10But, I think here, I think this is like galvanizing game.
62:14I think they take care of it. And, the way that they lost in Philly last year.
62:19Yeah, the block field goal scoop and score. I think this is, I think it's a good, I just, Philly's been shaky
62:27for a while the last few years. They've had good, and I don't know if I'm sold on Sean Mannion as their offensive coordinator.
62:35He's a brand new play caller. I think the skepticism is totally fair.
62:39Now, I had it for Baltimore's, but they've looked good, right?
62:43Philly hasn't offensively. So, I think there's just kind of a hot mess and fans are on tilt a little bit.
62:49But, I think it's, for me, it's Rams or pass.
62:53Bills, Patriots. Bills, a 6.5 point home favorite. Total, 48.5.
62:56This is another one. Buy low, sell high. Pats are the spot.
63:00I just, I can't get there right now. Look, the Bills defense is a mess.
63:05There are issues all over. But, their offense is a machine.
63:09Is Barmore, the Patriots have a lot of injuries on the offensive line.
63:13Barmore's banged up. And, like, just the running, like, we could talk about Drake May.
63:18The running games. The Pats have a 28% rush success rate.
63:22That's dead last in the NFL. The Bills are 52.5%.
63:25That's first. And then, let's look at the quarterbacks.
63:28Josh Allen, one of the best in the NFL.
63:31He's been incredible. Drake May is completely lost. He has no confidence.
63:35His foot works off. He can't even grip the ball and throw it forward now.
63:40He's broken. Like, until I see a competent game from him again, like, that throw at the end of the first half,
63:47that is the throw that, like, Will Levis makes.
63:50I can't back the Pats, even though, like, I mean, at 7, I would, like, I would think about it.
63:57But, there's something so off with him. And I don't think that the Patriots, you're not going to slow down.
64:03I mean, look, the Bills turned it over five times at a negative four turnover margin and covered seven and a half last week, which is pretty amazing.
64:12They obviously had an off game. There's also, is Josh Allen fully healthy?
64:17He might be a little banged up. That adds some uncertainty here.
64:21So, this looks like a pass. Like, I want to back the Pats, like my Bilo saw.
64:26But Drake May is lost. Like, I can't back him right now.
64:30I think it has to be the Bills. I mean, all the signs are in front of us, right?
64:36To your point, obviously the spot, you know, Bilo, all that.
64:40But, we have the Super Bowl hangover. That is a thing.
64:44Second straight road game for New England. Third in four weeks.
64:47That could be wearing, you know, it's not a huge road trip, but it's a factor.
64:53Drake May has looked pathetic. And it's definitely shocking how bad he's looked.
64:57But we all knew the schedule was shaky last year.
65:00So, some of the development or whatever was a little misleading.
65:04I mean, they even got to face the AFC Championship game team without their quarterback.
65:09It's crazy how many things broke their way. But the Bills defense is ridiculous.
65:13They shouldn't have covered last week. So fortunate in so many ways.
65:17I'm going to have to lay it. I mean, and by the way, yes, Allen's banged up.
65:23But he's a TD vulture in a lot of ways.
65:26Like, his anytime touchdowns, minus 115. Shouldn't it be minus $2 every week?
65:31Yeah, I mean, he's like perks anytime he gets near.
65:34And you know where he's going on the sneak and he's scoring.
65:38115 is cheap. Yeah, I just can't backtrack May right now.
65:42He's like a baseball player with the yips right now.
65:45Right, right. Or Knoblock. Yeah, Knoblock at second or something.
65:48They won this game last year, but they snuck up on Buffalo.
65:52I don't think they're going to sneak up on him, even though Buffalo's undefeated and looking good.
65:58Cardinals giants. Cardinals taking a ton of money. Wow.
66:01Now, opened as a dog. Now out to a two and a half point favor.
66:06Total 44 and a half. I liked it. I was thinking about the Cardinals initially.
66:11Brian Burns now out for the Giants. Jameis has looked terrible.
66:14There's a reason they went and got J.J. McCarthy.
66:17Yeesh. Cardinals defense is terrible. Can I lay two and a half on the road with the Cardinals?
66:23Second straight road game across the country with that defense.
66:26Defense, probably not. I'll have a little bit more on this game later.
66:31Do you like anything with the total here? Yeah, I do.
66:34I like the over. I know Sharp Group that models it likes the over for the same reasons probably the Arizona monies come in.
66:42I mean, their offenses looked pretty crisp, all things considered, through this early part of the season.
66:48And I also think it's tough to evaluate the Giants, right?
66:52I mean, they had the rain game versus Tennessee.
66:55Also, first drive against the Rams, they lose dart.
66:58And that game, they sort of punted on, all things considered, given the situation after losing dart.
67:03They were like, on the run, like, all right, let's just run the ball a lot.
67:08I think we could see fireworks in this game in a lot of ways because Jameis is going to go.
67:15It's not going to be McCarthy. And Arizona's, you know, I've talked about it a bunch.
67:20I mean, it's sort of getting old to say, but like their floor is pretty high with Brissette.
67:26They have a lot of weapons. Yeah, and the Giants aren't getting, like this pass rush, they only had three pressures on Cam Ward last week.
67:35And now there's no Brian Burns, like he's your best pass rusher.
67:39And the secondary is banged up and it's not good.
67:42And they're not going to just run the ball a million times like they did in the rain with Skaddebo.
67:49I mean, there's just, they're going to have to keep pace with Arizona because I think Arizona's offense is really solid.
67:56And yes, it's all those road trips, but it's early enough in the season.
68:00I think, I think we're gonna see a lot of points.
68:04Yeah. Evan, this line move, what, close to 10 points from the look ahead?
68:09Yeah. The look ahead was seven for the Giants.
68:11I mean, that's with Dart and Burns and like the whole squad out there.
68:16Yeah. And now Arizona minus two and a half.
68:19Uh, and it's honestly going up. Yeah. It's crazy.
68:22But sharp, sharp money has come in on it.
68:25I mean, like real money has come in on Arizona just to communicate that to our audience.
68:31Yeah. Uh, Chiefs Raiders, a battle of undefeateds. Who would have guessed?
68:35The Raiders, the Raiders are a four and a half point home dog.
68:39Total 47 and a half. I mean, this Raiders team is so much better and it starts with the staff.
68:46They might've found a really good one in Leonard, this new defensive coordinator.
68:50We know about Kubiak. The, the jump from last year's staff to this is astronomical.
68:55And you now have a functioning offensive line because you went out and got Linderbaum.
69:00Colton Miller is now healthy. Uh, so it is a completely different team than last year.
69:05And there's just actual real professionalism and actual real coaching on both sides of the ball.
69:10They found some, looks like some potential steals in the draft as well.
69:15I love trading Stukes. I didn't think he would take the job from Palomar this early, but Palomar was terrible.
69:21And he has right off the bat as a rookie.
69:24Uh, Massis, the corner from Cal, one of the many DBs that, uh, uh, what's his name?
69:30Uh, who was the ex Cal coach that got fired?
69:33Uh, oh my God. How can I not think of his name?
69:37Uh, uh, uh, QB coat, the QB guy. No, I, uh, Justin, what the hell was his name?
69:43Wilcox. Justin Wilcox. Many. He's put so many DBs in the league, but they might've found two really good ones in the secondary.
69:51Now starting as rookies. Massis has like a three or four interceptions already.
69:55They're linebacker signings. Dean and Walker pay. They're all playing well.
69:59Crosby is playing like a man possessed. Their other defensive linemen are playing well.
70:03They've been good against the run. Uh, and then Kirk cousins is playing well.
70:08And Brock Bowers is a cheat code. I mean, he's, he's the best unguardable.
70:13Chiefs also offenses improving, right? My home is getting more comfortable.
70:16Their secondary has also been very good. Noel Williams has been good.
70:20Mansoor Delane has been very good as a corner right off the bat as a rookie, which they needed.
70:27Uh, so they've been pretty damn good. And we've seen the impact of Kenneth Walker and what he's done for a run game.
70:34That's been non-existent for years. Now I will say these two teams are three and O.
70:39I think both are a little bit overrated, right?
70:42Like the chiefs played the dolphins. They went to overtime and beat the Colts at home.
70:48And you know, Alec Pierce got hurt early. And then the Broncos just didn't want to tackle them.
70:54They had like 300 yards after missed tackles in week one.
70:57And then the same thing with the Raiders. I mean, the Raiders also played the dolphins.
71:03They played the broken chargers. And then against the saints last week, they get a bunch of turnover luck outscoring 13, nothing
71:10the fourth quarter, uh, in what was, you know, a dead even game.
71:14I mean, they got outgained by 40 yards, but, uh, it was a pretty dead even game.
71:20They had some turnover luck. So I think both teams are a little bit overrated, but they're playing each other.
71:26Uh, I'm looking forward to just enjoying this one, watching it.
71:30The nice to watch a Raiders game with a ton of excitement, like undefeated playing the chiefs.
71:36I got nothing here. I'm right on market. Uh, Doug, anything on, uh, the Raiders?
71:41Your Raiders. That was close. And it's a buy, it's a sell high spot for the Raiders, right?
71:46Like obvious, but they might be that much improved because of the coaching staff and all the things you mentioned.
71:53I still probably going to bet the chiefs when it's all said and done.
71:58This almost made my cut. Um, I just, it's a lot of points for it.
72:03Honestly, like the Raiders could win outright, right? It's not that crazy.
72:07Just given what we've seen the first three weeks, but typically this is a spot and for what it's worth now, it's
72:14against different coaching staffs, different teams, but my homes has always played the Raiders well in Vegas.
72:20Here's a good stat. And I don't know if Evan has others, but when a team's heading into the buy and they're playing within the division, right?
72:28Divisional opponent and the, obviously the opponent not going to buy, right?
72:32So the chiefs are into the buy Raiders or not, uh, 58, 25 and one since 2013.
72:38So, I mean, the narrative, the chiefs like going into the buy, like facing a division opponent.
72:44So let's like, all right, let's take care of our business before our buy, you know, whatever.
72:49Um, that's the narrative if you believe in some of these trends, but I think it's, I think it's a good spot to back the chiefs.
72:58And I also was talking about it earlier, just like how much is in the gas tank for the Raiders.
73:04They've had a couple of big games in a row.
73:08Chiefs kind of went through the motions last week.
73:11I think it's a good bet, bet on spot for the chiefs.
73:15Evan, do you have anything on that? Endor three, you know, teams playing each other.
73:20Uh, well, to Doug's point, uh, when a team, I do 12 days in terms of like buy, cause usually 11 isn't.
73:27So a team has 12 days coming up last decade, 59% straight up 58% against the spread, almost 300 games.
73:33So yeah, uh, teams with rest coming up, definitely intriguing.
73:37And I was looking at that last year and yeah, this one's super intriguing to undefeated teams, straight up playing week four
73:44later, home team has been good 26 and 16 straight up.
73:48Uh, and this is just the second of these games since 21.
73:52We had bucks Eagles in this spot last year.
73:55All right. Charger Seahawks, Seahawks seven point favor minus one 15 total 42 and a half chargers.
74:00I mean, they, I don't know how they didn't cover.
74:04I ended up betting them at seven and a half last week, a brutal loss.
74:08Like Dicker can't even, they can do everything wrong.
74:11Dicker can't even make a kick now. And then Harbaugh, why are you going for it on fourth and 10 down one
74:19score with all the timeouts, five minutes to go against an offense that was turning it over a constant, like unbelievable decision,
74:26uh, that obviously costs them the cover, but like not covering as a seven and a half point dog with a plus four turnover margin.
74:34How rare is that Evan? Well, the not cover, it was like, Oh, in one Oh eight with a five plus turnovers and four margin.
74:43Just the ridiculous Seahawks will be angry here after a loss where they should have won.
74:48But I mean, you know, McDonald's going to be pissed after giving up 30 plus points to Mariotta and the Washington offense.
74:55Can you bet the chargers? They fit a ton of trends.
74:59Oh, and three straight up. Oh, and three against the spread now going across the country at the plan.
75:05And the bills playing Seattle. Can you do it?
75:08Doug? Yes or no. So I like Seattle here.
75:11Um, you're asking about the coaching. It just shows you that some of these coaches are so clueless that they're just doing,
75:18they do stuff recklessly because they think it's analytics.
75:21I mean, even hear it from some announcers. Well, analytics says do this.
75:25They're just making that. You know, they don't, they don't really know what they're talking about.
75:31Um, and hardball, you know, some of these guys who are coaches sons, like learn so much from their dads, but when
75:38the game was obviously different, so they just haven't evolved and they're just so brain dead at times.
75:44Now I think our boss still a great coach, obviously his track record speaks for itself.
75:49I just think they put so much into that game.
75:53I think their season was on the line last week and Seattle, like they have some trouble, like their, their, their execution
76:00running the ball has not been great with Jadarian price, but how about this last week?
76:05They had an 86 percentile offensive success rate, 89th percent defensive success rate.
76:09Uh, and, but they lost only, only game a team lost when clearing 85, uh, on both sides of the ball since 2022.
76:17Wow. It was a fluky. Now, you know, you don't, you can win and not cover too.
76:23So it's not just, you know, we're, we're asking them to win by margin, all things considered, but I, I still believe
76:30in Seattle and McDonald for that matter. And I have not been impressed with the chargers at all.
76:36I wasn't, I was pretty impressed last week though, all things considered, but that was a bad non-cover.
76:42You like Jadarian price unders here. I mean, he has a fumbling problem, right?
76:46And I don't think the carries are going to be there.
76:50And we started to see that he was pulled last week against.
76:54Washington. And I mean, sometimes coaches don't just come out and explicitly say it.
76:59And if you look at the box score and I'm just calling it up right now, I mean, he got five carries
77:06for 15 yards and then Emmanuel Wilson had nine for 14.
77:09Now they were trailing a lot in the second half and the game script would suggest that's not going to be the
77:17case, but, and it was weather obviously in, in Washington last week, but I would be betting as under carries.
77:23And right now you can bet as under yards and you know, I think you just got to anticipate versus react and all this stuff.
77:32We're always trying to anticipate, not react. You can't just react to what you last saw.
77:37I think we should be reacting to reduced workload here.
77:40Yeah. At seven and a half, I'd have to think about the Chargers, but I mean, I might just toss this game out the window.
77:48I mean, I make it under seven. Their offensive line is going to get destroyed.
77:53They're not going to be able to run the ball.
77:57The defense has injuries. The defensive line is really good against Buffalo, really good Buffalo offensive line.
78:02That's who has to win in this game. They got to force Darnold into mistakes, which he will do.
78:09He will make mistakes. And then the Chargers are wide receivers catch some balls.
78:13They also cover if Quentin Johnson catches that wide open pass on third down and they don't have to go for it on fourth down.
78:21The Chargers are doing everything wrong. That's what Johnson does though.
78:25Johnson does drop. I mean, that's, that's, that's customary.
78:28It wasn't an outlier pass. No, you're right. I mean, I could point to 7 million trends that say the Chargers are the play.
78:36I know Evan could as well. Evan, are you holding your nose to the Chargers or no, no chance?
78:42I think you have to, but it wasn't going to be my favorite pick.
78:47Also road trip in Seattle is just brutal. One in 10 since 23, 12 and 43.
78:52And that's just to win. So, and to me, it's just, it's too difficult.
78:57Buffalo to Seattle. Brutal. But it's not like the Chargers have every, every game's a road game.
79:02For the Chargers. All right, let's get Sunday Night Football.
79:06Lions, Panthers. Lions, three and a half point road favorite.
79:09I mean, on the surface, that number, I'm like, how can the Lions be a three and a half point road favorite?
79:16Well, it makes a ton of sense when you look at the injuries for Carolina.
79:21Now there might be some weather. Maybe golf will turn into a pumpkin.
79:26There's some rain outdoors. But the Panthers have cluster injuries at receiver.
79:30Injuries along the offensive line. Now Damian Lewis is out.
79:33Their tackles are already out. They have like Freeling's also dealing with an injury.
79:37But more importantly, Mike Jackson, starting corner. IR. JC Horn, starting corner.
79:41IR. Their secondary is in shambles. And now you're going, and it's not a defense that gets a ton of pressure going up against this Detroit offense.
79:50There should be a ton of points in this game.
79:54Hence why you see, I mean, the Panthers are playing really fast or throwing at a time.
79:59But the injuries at wide receiver make that a little dicey.
80:03But like seeing a Panthers outdoor total this high is pretty crazy.
80:07But I can't pay the Panthers because of all the injuries.
80:10Like their secondary right now is horrendous. But total 51 and a half.
80:15At three and a half, I actually lean Detroit.
80:18Like I don't see all this Carolina defense is going to get any stops against a competent offense because their secondary is now in shambles.
80:26You got anything here, Doug? Yeah. I mean, betting on home underdogs going into their buy has been very profitable over the
80:33years since 2015, which is over a decade. 39, 24, and three ATS.
80:38But I can't get there. You mentioned the injuries.
80:41But the Lions, I actually, I mean, I don't know.
80:44The Lions defense. It's hard to lay over a field goal with a team whose defense is horrific.
80:50I like the second worst in EPA per play.
80:53They have their own injuries in their secondary. It's basically they're like, do they get a sack?
80:58Yes. If not, first down. Like it's the defense is really bad.
81:02But maybe like a Lions team total over. Like the Lions should absolutely shred defense.
81:07Like the losing Horn and Jackson is with a team that can't get pressure.
81:12Right. And a team that also plays very complex coverages.
81:15You might think that, oh, it's just cover three.
81:18But they disguise a lot. And like they rely on their corners to know all the changes.
81:24They might, they're just probably going to have to go super vanilla here.
81:28And they're not going to get pressure. And they have like a rookie CB1 now.
81:33And then there's no town on the outside against these Lions receivers and Gibbs and Laporta.
81:38And like, I don't see them getting any stops.
81:41Team total. A Lions team total over, I think is where.
81:45I like it. I think that's a smart call.
81:48Falcons-Saints Monday night. Should get an electric atmosphere here.
81:51This is the Katrina anniversary game. Falcons going from, you know, Lambeau opening home opener to this game.
81:57A pretty brutal draw early on. Saints two and a half point favorite.
82:01Approaching three. Total 47 and a half. Saints to me are a pure over team.
82:06They just play so fast. Their defense can't stop the run.
82:10Uh, which is what the Falcons could take advantage of here.
82:13So on a fast track, I think over makes some sense at under 48.
82:18I think the Falcons are a good teaser piece.
82:21Um, I think this will be a competitive game.
82:24I don't have a ton here. I will say the Saints are dead last in rush success rate on defense.
82:30So Bijon, feed Bijon, set up the play action.
82:33Easy throws for Penix. And the Falcons, like their, their offense number one in pressure rate allowed.
82:39Defense number one in pressure rate. Even with all their injuries.
82:43Olbrook still finding a way to generate pressure. Uh, but the, the Saints will find ways to move the ball on this Atlanta defense.
82:51So, uh, I think this will be higher scoring.
82:54Falcons at three, I think makes some sense. Falcons is a teaser piece.
82:58Uh, I'm looking for a teaser piece. I think my teaser, it's not a great teaser week.
83:04Always tease, tease, tease. I'll get this out of the way now.
83:07I think the best teaser I could offer. Giants, now that it's a two and a half.
83:13Low total. Get them over eight and a half at home.
83:17Against a bad defense. Uh, and then the Falcons.
83:20A little higher total. But, uh, getting them up over eight.
83:23Uh, I think makes some sense. Not a great teaser week though.
83:27Not one of my favorites. You got anything on Monday Night Football, Doug?
83:32I think it's just worth noting. It's not a short week for Atlanta.
83:36Just, I mean, not noting, but reminding everyone. It's not a short week.
83:40Um, Atlanta run defense has been great. By the metrics.
83:43You mean Atlanta? Yeah, they last played on Thursday.
83:46So they have extra. Past defense, not good. So I think Olave could go off.
83:51One of those things. Vele could go off. Um, I don't know.
83:55I mean, I know a group that bet the minus two and a half.
84:00But Atlanta, obviously with Penix, very different. So it's almost like you throw out the offensive stats from the first two weeks.
84:07You just kind of have to. But they played a Packers defense that just was not ready.
84:13So I think the verdict's still out on Atlanta.
84:16This will be a very emotional game. But something to consider.
84:19You know, we always think that teams are going to play a certain way if it's a significant game.
84:26Um, like sometimes players going back to their hometown or whatever.
84:29Sometimes it like, the pressure gets the guy. You know, sometimes it's too much.
84:34So yes, I think it's New Orleans minus points because of the 20th anniversary of the Steve Gleason game.
84:40But with that being said, there's an element where they're, you know, over.
84:45Yeah, you come out. You come a little too jacked up, right?
84:49Um, I think so. I think so. And the Saints always start slow, though.
84:53So maybe, uh, there's only... It's crazy. It's really crazy.
84:56It's crazy. So, uh, yeah, I think at three I would lean Atlanta.
85:01But I'll have that game written up on ActionNetwork.com.
85:04And then finally, our Moneyline Underdog Parlay. We hit this last week.
85:08We have the Steelers and the Colts. We should have hit it.
85:12They ate the one the week before. But the Jets somehow blew the game to the Packers in overtime.
85:18Turning good weekends into great weekends. It's time for the Moneyline Parlay.
85:22Hey. Doug, this week, you're going with the Jags, which we already talked about.
85:27I'm going with the Bucs. Just some variance here with Jalen Daniels.
85:30I mean, Baker Mayfield's been the worst starting quarterback in the NFL this year by a lot of metrics if you remove backups, right?
85:38Like Winston and Cooper Rush, who's been obviously the worst.
85:42He's not been good. So, like, how much worse can it get?
85:46At least you have Daniels' legs. There's some uncertainty here with, like, the Packers don't know what it's going to look like.
85:53Now, to tell you about Daniels, he's very athletic.
85:56He's got a ton of talent. Now, he's very raw.
85:59He struggles to read defenses, especially zones of time.
86:02You're going to get a ton of zone from Green Bay here.
86:06You know, Florida home game early in the year, which I like.
86:10Tampa's been very unlucky. The unluckiest team in the league.
86:13Just, I think Daniels, for one game, can provide a spark.
86:17This is a team that needs a spark. And with the state of this offensive line, he needs to use his legs.
86:24And so, I think with some variance. And this is, the Packers are bad right now.
86:30They cannot, their pass block win rate, they're signing, like, 37-year-olds off the streets to come try to play offensive line.
86:37I don't know what kind of game shape Zyler's going to be in.
86:41But they cannot pass protect. They can't run the ball at all.
86:45And you can't run on Tampa. And then Tampa's going to blitz.
86:49Now, Love has been good against the blitz in his career.
86:52But that's when he's had some semblance of an offensive line.
86:56So, they're just going to be in passing downs all the time.
87:00And I think Bowles will bring the pressure. They're going to get to Love.
87:05He might make some mistakes. And then you just have the uncertainty with Daniels.
87:09This Packers team is just broken right now. It all starts with the offensive line.
87:14And then, obviously, there's no Jacobs. You have Reed Hurt.
87:17So, I like the Bucs with the points. Now, there's a lot of uncertainty.
87:22So, I think it really makes sense with a, as a Moneyline underdog piece.
87:27Give me Jalen Daniels and the Tampa Bay Bucs.
87:30Bucs, Jags, Little Florida. I guess it's going to be October.
87:33Little early October, Florida. So, are you undeterred by the 12 straight ATS losses?
87:38That's with Baker. We have no more Baker now.
87:41So, this is a new day. A new era in Tampa football.
87:45It's fascinating. I mean, they've got to be regretting that contract right now.
87:49I did a deep dive into that 83-84. So, with the help of Evan, it started the last week of 1983 when Oliver Luck was the quarterback.
87:58And then, the following year, it was like ATS lost two.
88:02So, week one was the second straight loss. And it was all Warren Moon.
88:06Hmm. Interesting. So, Archie was mid-season. He was early in the 83 season.
88:11So, he wasn't part of the ATS streak. Got it.
88:14But, Bucs finally get their cover. And I have a...
88:17I think they went out right now. It could be a disaster for Daniels.
88:22You just... You really don't know. But I think with the uncertainty...
88:26Yeah, it's fair. Yeah. I think it makes sense as money on the other.
88:30So, Jags, Bucs pay out around plus 470 at DraftKings.
88:34All right. To wrap things up, our six-pack will include Evan's favorite pick, Denver plus three.
88:39But for our contest, Doug's favorite two picks is going with Washington and Jacksonville.
88:44Sticking with that, right, Doug? Yeah. Washington and Jacksonville.
88:47Washington with the hook. Jacksonville plus two and a half.
88:50I'm going with Houston, which I talked about right off the bat, minus two and a half.
88:56We're going to throw the Dolphins in there. Just the fate of the Vikings offense right now.
89:01Reluctantly. I thought about the Bucs. It was either the Bucs or Dolphins.
89:05But we'll go with the Dolphins. We'll call it ten and a half.
89:10That's what it is. But there's 11s out there.
89:13Make sure you shop around. Ten and a half at DraftKings right now.
89:17We'll call it ten and a half. And then my final pick, we'll go with the Jets plus three and a half against the Bears.
89:25Look, I was on the Bears this week. I love Ben Johnson.
89:29I think it's going to be Tyson Bajan who starts.
89:33If it is Case Keenum, I don't think he's going to play as well as he did last week.
89:39The Eagles are just a mess right now. He threw a couple of interceptable balls as well.
89:44But I think from all the comments that Ben Johnson has made, it's going to be Tyson Bajan.
89:50Is he good? I don't really know. I mean, we've seen him.
89:54We've seen one year where he had a long stretch of play.
89:58He had two big-time throws, 11 turnover where he plays back in 2023.
90:03He's a little bit more mobile than Keenum. But he's not as experienced.
90:07He's not like the vet, the Jared Goff light.
90:10And this Jets team is feisty. I know they have some injuries, which is a bit of concern, like A.D.
90:16Mitchell, Parham on the offensive line. But I think they'll get Fitzpatrick back.
90:21This team's been feisty. Geno should be kept clean where he's been very good this year because the Bears don't really generate pressure.
90:28And the Bears' defense, like, I like Muhammad, this rookie.
90:32I think he's a steal in the fourth-round draft pick.
90:35He's inserting him in the lineup I think is smart.
90:38And the Bears' defense has been good the past two weeks.
90:42But they faced the broken Philly and Vikings offenses.
90:45Those offenses are completely broken. Remember what Carolina did in week one.
90:49I think the Jets can move the ball here.
90:52I just don't think the Bears should be laying over a field goal with the state of their defense, with a backup quarterback, on a short week.
91:01I know it's a big coaching mismatch. But, look, the Bears were catching.
91:05I got them plus four and a half last week against Philly, who I think is completely broken.
91:11Now they're laying three and a half. I don't think that there's a touchdown difference between Philadelphia and the Jets across two of the most important numbers.
91:20So I think this game will be close. Give me the Jets plus three and a half.
91:25So our six-pack, Washington, Jacksonville, Houston, the Jets, the Dolphins, and the Broncos.
91:30Evan, anything to add on any of those picks or anything else?
91:34Any other key nuggets that you wanted to mention before we get out of here?
91:39I just love the note that the Bays face off with Tampa Bay and Green Bay.
91:44Neither have covered a game against the spread since week 14 of last season.
91:49So I predict Green Bay closes at four and wins by four.
91:5320 combined non-covers for the straight. 20 straight combined non-covers for the Bucs and Packers.
91:58So yeah, if it closes four, I'm going to bet exact margin, exact win by four.
92:03That would be too funny. All right, that'll do it for us.
92:07Thanks to Doug for joining me. Thanks to Evan.

94:27If you travel a lot with your dog like I do with dogs, feeding them well on the road can get surprisingly complicated.

94:41Frozen dog food sounds great until you realize you don't exactly have a freezer backstage.
