0:00What is going on everyone? We are back.
0:04And we are fresh off an insane Monday night football match-up. Puka Nacua is back. Davante Adams still finding the
0:13end zone. Josh Allen superhero football.
0:18There's not much time to sit back and talk about that game. We've got to push forward and that starts with the week
0:24six waiver wire. I'll be honest. It's ugly.
0:28But there are still some moves to be made. My name is Michael O'Herron.
0:32No friends and enemies anymore.
0:35Let's get right into it. As always, we will get things rolling with the quarterbacks. The first name that I'll quickly throw out is Jordan Love. Love
0:42is rostered in 63% of leagues, so he's not someone that is going to be truly featured here today, but he is an
0:49obvious pick-up. The Packers offense has seemingly found its stride. They just throttled the Bears in week five because Jordan Love is just throwing haymakers
0:58left and right. You look at the upcoming schedule, Dallas and Detroit. Dallas will be at home. Detroit will be on the
1:05road in a dome. Two primo fantasy match-ups for our quarterbacks. If Love is not rostered in your league and you are in need of a short-term starter, he
1:16is the name to target. But looking at some guys who are rostered in less than 50% of leagues, the big name is Aaron
1:24Rodgers. We talked about him last week and it is very much the same story.
1:29Rodgers has not been especially efficient this year. You look at the numbers from last week. He has 235 yards. 80 of them come from a dump-off
1:39to Jaylen Warren that he has a total house call on. I mean, we can have the Jaylen Warren conversation. He has been
1:45sensational, but that is not what we are here to do. The story remains the same all year long. Not especially efficient,
1:51but the pass volume continues to be there. 40 pass attempts, 39, 40 pass attempts, 31 last week, and the Steelers remain one of the most pass-heavy
2:01offenses in the NFL, ranking towards the top of the league in pass rate over expectation. And the other one that stands out here is three touchdowns in
2:09each of the last three games. That is obviously helping his fantasy production. And I think until we see otherwise, until we see the volume start
2:18to come down or Rodgers' hot hand in the red zone start to fall off, I think he is someone who can be in weekly
2:25conversation for streaming options. And against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, whose defense has been solid against opposing quarterbacks in the realm of fantasy
2:36football, I do think that you can still bank on the volume, still bank on them being generally pass-heavy. That alone is enough to consider Aaron Rodgers as a
2:46streamer this week. With guys like Jared Goff, Joe Burrow four teams on by this week, a lot of you will definitely have
2:53to get to a streamer a backup guy off of the waiver wires. I think Rodgers is definitely an interesting one. The other
3:00big name that stands out as a potential streamer in single-quarterback leagues is none other than Jameis Winston. Much like we were discussing with Rodgers,
3:11the story with Winston is the one that we have grown to know for years now.
3:16Winston is a guy who's just going to go out on the field whenever he gets the opportunity and sling the rock. Jameis
3:23has been doing that all year long in relief of Jaxon Dart. Among 29 quarterbacks with a 100-plus dropbacks on the year, he ranks sixth in average
3:32depth of target, first in deep throw rate, and he also ranks eighth in turnover-worthy throw rate. So, he is just pushing the ball down field, trying
3:40to get the ball in the the hands of his playmakers, and he doesn't really care whether it is a dangerous or risky
3:47throw. That has been Jameis Winston for years now, and it is no different in 2026. We've seen that met with mixed
3:54results. He does pop up with just 6.1 points in week three. It should be noted that that game was played in basically a
4:01hurricane, just tons of rain in that one affecting the offensive play. But it turns into strong results in each of the
4:07last two weeks. He does have two interceptions in week four, which shows his willingness to to get risky. But he pops up with three touchdowns in each of
4:16the last two weeks, 250 passing yards in week four, over 325 passing yards in week five. He takes advantage of a pair
4:25of cupcake matchups against the Arizona Cardinals and the Washington Commanders.
4:30It should be noted also that he has 54 pass attempts against the Commanders last week. That was a back-and-forth game where we saw Winston get off a ton
4:39of dropbacks and attempts. So you can't expect that very often moving forward.
4:43No one's hitting 54 pass attempts week in and week out. But you could expect real passing volume and real success coming up against the New Orleans
4:52Saints. The Saints have been among the worst defenses in the NFL, ranking bottom 10 in scoring defense, total defense, yards per play, and EPA per
5:01play. Against this sort of defense, with Malik Nabers and Isaiah likely by his side, it would be no surprise if Winston
5:08turns in another big week. When will the wheels fall off of this train? We know it's almost certainly going to happen.
5:15I don't know when it's going to come, but I would continue to ride the Jameis Winston train in the short-term future,
5:21especially in a matchup against the New Orleans Saints, who have proven to be unable to contain opposing offenses this year. Moving over to the running backs
5:30here, I'm going to kick things off with two guys who are rostered in upwards of 50% of leagues. But if you're playing in
5:36a shallower league, a 10-team league, maybe even an eight-team league, these guys deserve some consideration. The top pick up, if he's available, would be
5:44Woody Marks. We see Marks take on a bell cow role in the wake of David Montgomery's injury. He plays virtually every single snap in this game. And if
5:55I'm not mistaken, the only snap that he did not play after Montgomery left the game was a kneel down. He plays 84.1% of
6:03the snaps, handles 15 carries, and earns four targets without Montgomery in the picture. And Montgomery is now deemed week-to-week, meaning we can expect to
6:12see bell cow Dame Marks in the short term future. The Texans rushing attack, it has been broken once again. I mean,
6:19this is something that we have grown to know over the last couple of years with the Houston Texans. They rank 31st in
6:24rushing offense, 30th in yards per carry, and 23rd in EPA per rush. But even with a dysfunctional ground game, I think that it's encouraging to see that
6:34this offense, especially the passing game, is really hitting its stride. CJ Stroud is slinging the rock. He is providing the team with scoring
6:43opportunities. They have 18 red zone drives on the year, which is among the league leaders. So, if Marks is playing virtually every single snap, and he's
6:51going to have access to goal-to-go opportunities, that alone is enough to have some interest in Dame Marks. I would expect him to be ranked in the RB2
7:00category this week. So, if you need a spot start at running back, you just need some help in general, Dame Marks is
7:06definitely a name to keep an eye on and file a claim for. Marshawn Lloyd offers a very different outlook, but it's in
7:13some ways similar. I had advocated for dropping Marshawn Lloyd in previous weeks, and I do still think he should be left on waiver wires if you are in a
7:22good spot at running back. But if you desperately need a spot start, Lloyd is definitely a name to go to. This past
7:30week, we saw the Packers backfield go from a three-headed monster down to a two-headed monster. Lloyd is the primary ball carrier, where while Pierre Strong
7:39serves as the primary pass-catching back. Caleb Johnson does get some opportunities in this game against the Chicago Bears, but they all come late in
7:48the fourth quarter past the midway mark when the game is an entirely out of hand. It's a total blowout. Lloyd sees
7:5510 carries in this game compared to five for Strong, but I think the most important note from this game is that
8:01Lloyd is on the field for all three of the Packers inside the 10 snaps. He turns two carries from inside the 10
8:08into two touchdowns. That truck stick that he had was arguably, almost certainly, the best play that he had this season. So, Lloyd has, seems to
8:18have, a stranglehold on the goal line role in this Packers offense. Once again, we're talking about it with Jordan Love. The offense seems to be
8:25hitting its stride. They get two terrible defenses on the schedule coming up. I'm not expecting much from Lloyd in the rushing efficiency and overall
8:34production department, but if he can have consistent access to goal line opportunities, you can just pray that he falls into the end zone, and he can be
8:42an emergency starter for teams that have just no help at RB2. Now, we're going to look at some guys who are rostered in
8:48less than 50% of leagues. Kicking things off with Damien Pierce. Another week is in the books.
8:55It's another week where we are looking to pick up an Eagles running back.
9:00It was terrible for Damien Pierce last week. You see it here. He has 13 touches on the day, 11 carries, and two
9:07receptions. He has 12 yards from scrimmage. It was terrible. I will note that the offensive line was not doing him any favors. He
9:17was contacted at or behind the line of scrimmage on eight of his 11 carries in this game. So, it is no surprise that he
9:25struggled to get anything going. But, then again, we can't really expect much else. They are down to the depths of the
9:33depth of their depth chart in the offensive line department. Lane Johnson has retired. Cam Jurgens was traded.
9:40Injuries everywhere else. So, I don't think we can expect things to be much better and considering all of the other injuries that they are dealing with,
9:47Saquon Barkley probably not going to return this week. We'll see, but I'm not expecting him to return. DeVonta Smith is still working his way back. This
9:54offense is truly horrific, but then again, anyone who projects to be the leader of a backfield in any given week deserves to be rostered in fantasy
10:04football. Well, that would be the if Barkley is not back in this game. As soon as Will Shipley left in week five,
10:12Pierce handled every single snap and running back touch. I think we could expect to see something similar if Barkley is unable to go in week six. So,
10:20not high expectations for Dameon Pierce, not someone that I would spend a bunch of FAB on, but a handful of dollars, six
10:27to eight dollars if you desperately need a start at your RB2 slot. I think that's reasonable just given our expectations for his workload and his role in this
10:37offense. And you never know, if he manages to fall into the end zone, hit pay dirt, you're going to be fine with
10:42him for a week. You'll also see Samaje Perine on the trending pickups list this week. He shows up and plays a pretty
10:50meaningful role for the Cincinnati Bengals in week five. It's a pretty sharp difference from what we have grown to know out of the Bengals. Chase Brown
10:58has largely been their week in and week out bellcow since he broke out midway through the 2024 season. We see that
11:06change in week five. Perine plays 50.8% of the snaps, sees 16 opportunities, 14 carries, which is one more than Chase Brown, and earns two targets. Brown sees
11:1617 total opportunities, and Perine also plays three of Cincinnati's 12 inside the 10 snaps. You see here in the box score, he was relatively effective with
11:26those opportunities, turning 14 carries into 68 yards, nearly five yards a carry, and he does get a touch in the red area and turns it into a short
11:35receiving touchdown.
11:37It remains to be seen whether any of this is sticky. I mean, I'm not blaming the Bengals for making this move,
11:43getting more work to someone other than Chase Brown because dating back to the beginning of last season, Brown has not been especially effective. You look at
11:53the efficiency metrics, Brown is not jumping off the page. He hasn't exactly been bottom of the barrel in key metrics like missed tackles forced per attempt,
12:01yards per carry, yards after contact per attempt, rush yards over expectation, all that good stuff. He hasn't been bottom of the barrel, but he's not
12:08screaming you need to give me the ball on every single play. I need to play upwards of 80% of the snaps, and the
12:14Bengals offense had been largely ineffective on the ground to this point in the year. Brown had something like nine carries for 10 yards in week four.
12:22So, it's not shocking to see the pivot.
12:24We'll have to see if it sticks, but at a minimum, we know that we could see Samaje Perine factoring in in a
12:31significant way. If that remains to be the case, he could have some level of stand-alone value. But on the flip side,
12:37even if it doesn't stick, it seems that the coaching staff trusts Samaje Perine as a rusher. For years, he has been
12:43known primarily as a pass-catching back, but if they do trust him as a rusher, which seems to be the case, he does have
12:50some interesting value as a handcuff.
12:53So, I would be stashing Samaje Perine.
12:55Again, not someone I'm going crazy for on the waiver wire. I would be stashing him away just seeing what things look
13:00like, and considering that they are on bye in week six are the Bengals. He could go under the radar in a lot of
13:07leagues this week. So, file a small bid, make a small claim, don't use the number one or a top claim on Samaje Perine, but
13:14he's an interesting bench stash while seeing how this offense looks, how the backfield looks moving forward. Another guy that I'm interested in stashing in
13:21my IR slot if he is available in my league is Broncos rookie running back Jonah Coleman. There there's really no way to put it. The Broncos offense is
13:32facing a litany of issues. There there is a lot going on, a lot to unpack when evaluating this offense, but there's no
13:39doubt about it that the ineffectiveness of JK Dobbins has been one of them. And he shockingly, given how he has played
13:46this year, has a real stranglehold on the backfield carries. You could say that the injury to Coleman has played a big role in that, but Dobbins has 64
13:56carries on the year. That is 34 more than RJ Harvey, Jona Coleman, and Tyler Badie combined. So, it has been largely
14:04all JK Dobbins to this point in the year in the Broncos offense, and he has not done much with those touches. Among 31
14:10running backs with at least 50 carries this year, he ranks 20th or worse in yards per carry, explosive rush rate, rushing success rate, missed tackles
14:19forced per attempt, and yards after contact per attempt. It shows up on film, too. Like, JK Dobbins last week, he has a couple of chunk gains, but it's
14:27nothing particularly explosive. He's not really helping the offense in a big way.
14:32The big question here is whether or not Sean Payton, Davis Webb, and Bo Nix can get all of these problems with the
14:38offense as a whole ironed out. But for Coleman in particular, it would be no surprise whatsoever when he returns, and he is eligible to return in week seven.
14:48When he returns, it would be no shock if he challenges JK Dobbins for the rushing work in this offense. They spoke about
14:54him in a very positive light throughout the offseason. We see him get some run here in week two. With Dobbins going
15:00down with an injury mid-game and Harvey missing that game, he punches in a touchdown to have a nice little day in
15:06the fantasy streets. So, I would be stashing Jona Coleman, no doubt about it, if he is available in my league, and
15:12just seeing how things play out for both this backfield and the offense as a whole. Before moving over to the wide
15:18receivers, I do just have to note the situation in Cleveland. Quishon Judkins goes down with an ankle injury in week five. He was seen wearing a boot and he
15:28has been labeled day-to-day. Raheem Sanders, who is pulled up here, Rocket Sanders, he left the game with a hip injury as well. There's a lot of moving
15:36pieces here. They signed Audric Estime to the active roster. They're saying that Dylan Sampson could be returning to practice this week after he was placed
15:45on IR. Demetric Felton has popped in recent weeks with an explosive play.
15:48John Kelly has popped in recent weeks with an explosive play. This backfield is a total mess. I am going to throw my
15:54hands up. I'm going to say I just really don't know how to parse through all of the injuries, the signings, the
16:00potential returns from IR. This is a situation to monitor nonetheless. I would imagine a lot of these guys, the guys who could potentially play a role
16:10in the Browns backfield, will go under the radar, go unclaimed in most leagues this week. So, I'll just say that keep a
16:17very close eye on the reporting coming out of Cleveland, seeing who's getting ready to practice, seeing who might be good to go for week six because we could
16:27very well see this backfield transform, shapeshift, some other guy, some unexpected guy take on a meaningful role. If that's the case, they could
16:36very well be a viable RB2 option.
16:39Really, really muddy right now though, so I'm probably not filing a claim on any of these guys unless I'm in a super
16:45deep league and I just want to throw a dart on one of them, hope that they're the one who's healthy and emerges as the
16:51top option. You could throw a dart in a super deep league, but really this is a spot where I want to be on my toes,
16:58keeping an eye on the reports and putting in a claim or a pickup really quickly as soon as it we start to get
17:05some sort of clarity on the situation.
17:07Looking over at the wide receivers now, the top pickup of the week in my opinion is Jeremy Bernard, the second-round rookie for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He
17:17really shows up in week five for the Pittsburgh Steelers. They're without Michael Pittman. He is on IR. He'll miss at least another three games. And then
17:26Roman Wilson goes down early in the first half, and he is expected to miss a couple of weeks. So, Bernard was really
17:33asked to step up, and he does so. He plays a really nice role and capitalizes on that role in week five. He runs a
17:41route on 78.8% of Roger's dropbacks, draws nine targets, hauls in six receptions, and piles up 80 yards. His nine targets lead the team, and he is
17:51narrowly bested by Jaylen Warren in the yardage department. He looks really rock solid in this game, and given the fact that there is no doubt that he is going
18:01to be playing a full-time role at least in the short-term future. That makes him a really appealing pickup. We know that
18:08he has some level of intrigue from a prospect profile perspective. He garners meaningful draft capital. A lot of folks out there really liked him. I was
18:16drafting him a good bit in really deep leagues. So, there's a lot to like there. The opportunity will be there as
18:22well. And what we were talking about earlier, the Steelers continue to be pass-heavy under Mike McCarthy, among the league leaders in pass rate over
18:30expectation. That obviously sets up quite well for both Bernard and the pass-catchers in general. At this point, I don't know if I'm going to be starting
18:40Jaylen Bernard right away, but continuing to evaluate where he sits on the target totem pole in Pittsburgh, I think that's what I would be doing. I
18:49would be prioritizing him on the waiver wire. But if I can avoid it, I would like to see him on my bench for at least
18:55another week, seeing if he can continue to out-target DK Metcalf and play a fantasy viable role from a volume and play-making perspective. Next up, we've
19:05got a couple of guys who I would consider roster band-aids. First up, Kendrick Bourne. No Marvin Harrison Jr.
19:12anymore. He is moving over to the Houston Texans and immediately Kendrick Bourne assumes a pretty prominent role in the offense. His route rate sat at
19:22just 59.3% but the Cardinals in this one, they use just a ridiculous amount of 13 personnel. They run 13 personnel on
19:3140.8% of their plays. You see it show up in goal-to-go situations. Teagan Que Teagan whatever his last name was, popped up for multiple touchdowns in
19:43this game. They're utilizing tight ends left and right. We'll see if that sticks. Personally, I'm not expecting it to but even on a limited route rate, we
19:51see Kendrick Bourne make his presence felt. He ends the day with eight targets good for a 17.4% target share, five receptions and 70 yards. That's nothing
20:02special, 17.4% target share but something that I have talked about at length this season. The Cardinals continue to be the fantasy circus. Play
20:11volume and dropback volume is plentiful.
20:14With Jacoby Brissett under center and this defense being as terrible as it is, Arizona ranks fourth in total plays on the year and third in total dropbacks.
20:23So, even if Kendrick Bourne isn't posting incredible target share numbers, if he can steadily be right around 20% of the targets, there can be enough
20:33volume there for him to be a flex-worthy option. He's not going to have a high ceiling. He's not going to be
20:38consistently out targeting Michael Wilson. He's not going to challenge Trey McBride for targets but a floor-driven guy, a roster band-aid, that can
20:46certainly be Kendrick Bourne. If I just need some floor in my flex spot, I think Bourne is a worthwhile pick up on the
20:53week. Same story for Keenan Allen. I I really don't need to get that deep into the Keenan Allen situation. We all know
21:00exactly what we're dealing with here.
21:01Week one, 19.4% target share. Week two, 16.1%. Week three, 25%. Misses week four, then in week five 20.9%
21:12he's not going to be making explosive downfield plays. You're using the volume as a floor and then you're just praying that he gets into the end zone to
21:20deliver a reasonable ceiling. You're not going to be able to predict that week to week when he hits the end zone we see he
21:26does so in week three and he turns in 18.3 PPR points as a result. But for the most part you know that the volume is
21:34going to be there for Keenan Allen. That makes him someone who is not going to crush your lineup but he's probably not
21:41going to win you your match up much like Kendrick Bourne nothing more than a roster band-aid. If you're in a tough
21:46spot at wide receiver or flex you should probably be rostering him because of that floor but not an exciting pick up
21:53still someone who deserves some consideration on the week should be rostered in the majority of leagues. The other name that I want to point out
22:01we've got a couple of stashes here moving forward just evaluating either injury situations or guys returning from injury. First up is Ryan Flournoy CD
22:12Lamb picks up a quad injury in week five he leaves in the fourth quarter. It was described as not serious but I think
22:20that Flournoy is worth a pick up while seeing how that plays out because we saw Flournoy take advantage of a very
22:27similar opportunity last season Lamb sidelined for a three game stretch and in that time Flournoy had a targets per route run mark of 0.29 he averaged 3.04
22:37yards per route run and averaged a shade under 10 PPR points per game in those three games. He eclipsed 18 PPR points
22:45in one of those contests. We also all know the story with the Cowboys offense super pass heavy terrible defense on the
22:52other end forcing Dak Prescott to drop back again. Prescott is an immensely talented quarterback he can create fantasy value for his wide receivers. So
23:01if Lamb misses time expect Flournoy to see plenty of routes, and we know that he can earn targets alongside George Pickens. That is no guarantee, but there
23:10are definitely worse options out there if CD Lamb is unable to go. I would say that Flournoy will be viewed as a wide
23:17receiver three this week. So, spend a couple of dollars if you need wide receiver help. See what the deal is for
23:23CD Lamb. If not, you can just cut they right away and make another pick up after not investing too much into this
23:29pick up. Another guy that I would be looking to stash if he was dropped in your league is Jacobi Lane. Lane was
23:38arguably the most hyped player this offseason throughout training camp. It seemed like there were reports coming in every single day about him making a
23:46sensational play, just having a strong day. There was that beat reporter who was like, "This is the best rookie mini training camp that I have seen in 30
23:55years." So, there there was a lot of hype for Lane coming into the year. He does in the box score deliver a dud in
24:02his NFL debut, one reception for 11 yards. He does have a touchdown called back due to penalty in that game, but he
24:10also suffers a fractured wrist. It's a shortened day for Jacobi Lane, and he has since been on IR. He is eligible to
24:18return in the very near future, as soon as week six. And if he can return and solidify himself as the number two
24:26target behind Zay Flowers, there could very well be some fantasy value there.
24:31You're It's someone you're excited to start in good matchups because we know that Lamar Jackson is a very talented quarterback. Before he went down, he was
24:39leading one of the most potent offenses in the NFL, consistently moving the ball, consistently providing the team with scoring opportunities. I would be
24:48liking to stash Lane while seeing how he fits in alongside Zay Flowers, how he fits in alongside Lamar Jackson. He was
24:56a really, really fun rookie coming out.
24:58He was steaming up draft boards, and now that he is set to return in the near future, I would be picking him up if
25:04someone decided to get him off their team. All right, you'll see two other names here at the top of the trending
25:11pickups tab. I think they're both reasonable guys, but I I'm not really interested in picking up Darius Cooper. I talked about him
25:21last week. I was pretty dismissive of what his long-term fantasy value and short-term fantasy value would be. He stuffs me in in the hurt locker. He
25:31scores 15.1 points. He has another long touchdown.
25:35If you want to bet on this sort of profile, like be my guest. I'm not going to be someone who is betting on this
25:41sort of guy, someone who is not a consistent target earner and has been delivering big days in fantasy football because they have been spiking for
25:48touchdowns. I compared this to 2024 Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Like I I was writing this up discussing MVS. Like he's earning four targets. Like that's
25:58terrible, but he somehow manages to score a 40-yard touchdown each and every week. If you want to roll the dice, gamble on Darius Cooper ripping another
26:1040-yard touchdown, I'm not going to fault you for doing so. It's not something that I would do, but it's not crazy. I I just the role from a volume
26:18perspective, it's not going to be consistent enough. We have our concerns about the Philadelphia Eagles passing attack in general as well. This isn't a
26:26bet that I love to make, but there's no denying that the string of touchdowns has been there, and it has allowed him
26:34to finish as a viable starting option in fantasy football. If you want to bet on that continuing, be my guest. It's a
26:41similar story, al- al- be it different with Ashton Dinsmore. He has popped in each of the last 2 weeks. He has that
26:47sensational touchdown in week four, and then he shows up for five receptions and 57 yards in week five. I mean, I get it.
26:56Like he he has been playing some sort of a role in this offense without Mack Hollins in the mix, without A.J. Brown
27:04in the mix. But really it is becoming very, very difficult for me to want to invest in any of these Patriots wide
27:12receivers in the form of getting them into my starting lineup. Guys like Romeo Doubs that he he should be rostered. You
27:18can make the argument that Effen Chisholm should be rostered. I don't want to do it because the Patriots passing game has been so incredibly
27:25spread out this year. It's honestly ridiculous. We have seen a Patriots pass catcher eclipse a 22% target share just one time this season. It has been so
27:35wildly spread out. And we you just think about the Patriots game. That shows up.
27:39We have Mack Hollins pop for a week.
27:41We've had Pop Douglas show up for a couple of games. Romeo Doubs is the go-to guy in week four. There is just no
27:48way to get a firm grip on how targets are going to be distributed in this offense and who is going to show up in
27:55any given week. If you want to gamble, again, much like Darius Cooper, if you want to gamble on Chisholm being that
28:01guy, him having another highlight reel touchdown grab, sure you can do it. But I think the volatility in terms of where
28:09he falls in the target tree each and every week, I think it's too great for me to be especially interested in
28:16picking him up. I know there will be some people out there who who who are interested. I'm just not going to be one
28:22of them. The final name that I will throw out there really quick is Brandin Cooks. Really, really gross. Not going to be prioritizing him in many leagues,
28:31but in a super deep league, I think you can make the argument. I'm not going to sit here and make a substation joke. But
28:38you you know the situation in San Francisco. No Ricky Pearsall, De'Anthony Stribling out for the foreseeable future, DeMarcus Robinson on IR, and
28:46Deebo Samuel goes down in week five with a hamstring injury. He's expected to miss a couple of weeks. With Deebo Samuel out of the picture, Brandon Cooks
28:54actually led the receiving core in routes in the fourth quarter to close out that game against the Seattle Seahawks. He turns those seven routes
29:02into one target which resulted in a touchdown. Really gross. Cooks is undeniably beyond washed, 33 years old, but he is probably going to run his fair
29:13share of routes in a Kyle Shanahan offense. I mean, we talked about Kendrick Bourne earlier. Last year, I was personally like there was a stretch
29:21of the year where I was excited to start Kendrick Bourne and I believe that was the part of the year where Mac Jones was
29:27at quarterback. That just is a testament to what Kyle Shanahan can get out of his offensive playmakers regardless of how talented they actually are. If you are
29:38someone that Kyle Shanahan just simply decides to get heavily involved in the offense, there can be fantasy value there. Obviously, Brock Purdy is playing
29:47sensational football. This is one of the best offenses in the game and they will get a favorable matchup against the Washington Commanders in week six. We
29:55saw them picked apart last week by Jameis Winston and the New York Giants.
29:59So, we can see the 49ers offense rolling once again. If you want to gamble on Brandon Cooks being a featured part of
30:07that offense, drawing his fair share of targets, and taking advantage of the numerous red zone drives that I expect the 49ers to have, I would prefer taking
30:16the risk and gambling on Brandon Cooks and the 49ers offense over Darius Cooper or Efton Chism. We're going to quickly move through the tight end section to
30:24close things out here today. There are some viable streaming options in my opinion, but no one who is really jumping off the page as like a must-add,
30:36like someone who is going to be a long-term starter for you. But, among those streamers, Pat Freiermuth does emerge as someone that you can
30:44definitely get to. Freiermuth this year has seen a nice blend of volume and red zone usage. The volume gives him some
30:51sort of a floor and the consistent role in the red zone gives him access to a reasonable ceiling. He has seen five
30:58plus targets in four of five games this year and he has seen five targets in the red zone so far this year and three in
31:04the end zone. That has resulted in in him popping up for a touchdown in three of five games as well as two last week
31:11against the Colts.
31:13It's not great. Like you're you're not running to the podium to get this waiver claim in and get Freiermuth on your
31:20roster, but there is enough there. We have talked at length about this Pittsburgh Steelers passing game. Ton of volume there and with Freiermuth playing
31:27a consistent role and seeming to be a featured weapon in the red area, I think there's enough there against the Buccaneers this week. They have allowed
31:35at least 10 PPR points to three tight ends this year. So, he could have a nice day. It would be no surprise if he is
31:43like kind of taking a backseat. He doesn't find the end zone, but the usage has been there. It has been a
31:49fantasy-friendly role enough for you to start considering Freiermuth as a spot starter. I think that doesn't really change looking ahead to week six. The
31:58other two trending names that I'm going to hit on here are Brevin Jordan Strange and Tyler Higbee. Strange shows up for
32:05eight targets in each of the last two weeks. I think in week four that can be pretty easily explained away by the
32:11simple fact that the Bengals have remained a sieve to opposing tight ends.
32:16I mean, if you're going to beat the Bengals defense, targeting your tight ends a ton is a very good way to go
32:21about it. I think generally my perception of Brevin Strange really hasn't changed over these last two weeks even though he has shown up for a nice
32:31number of targets and strong fantasy production. This is a guy who can just go in and out. It it really depends on
32:38the week-to-week flow of the game, the game plan, all that stuff. We have seen that show up in the box scores as well.
32:44Two targets in week two, three targets in week one, then suddenly shows up for eight in each of the last two weeks. If
32:50you pick up Brevin Jordan Strange and he shows up for two targets, two catches, and 20 yards in week six, it would be
32:58disappointing, but it would be no surprise. After this last like two-week run, I am not changing my thoughts on Brevin Jordan Strange. He is an
33:05inconsistent target earner, someone who I am not penciling in for a five-plus targets each and every week. I don't think that he is a shoe-in starter, but
33:14given the volume that we have seen as of late, I think that you could get to Brevin Jordan Strange this week while
33:19understanding that the range of outcomes is quite wide. There's real volatility here. And then the next one who is kind of similar, it is Tyler Higbee. He has
33:29taken advantage of an injury to Terrance Ferguson over the last couple of weeks.
33:33You see him show up for double-digit fantasy points in three straight weeks.
33:38There was some concern about the return of Colby Parkinson limiting Higbee's role in week five. He does return, does Parkinson, and we see Higbee's role take
33:48something of a step back. 64% of the routes against the Bills in that Monday Night Football shootout. Still in an offense like the Rams, that is going to
33:57be putting together scoring drives quite often. 64% of the routes can be enough.
34:02And we see him draw five targets, turn that into 83 receiving yards. And looking ahead, against the Arizona Cardinals, this is another game that is
34:10expected to be a shootout, a game total well over 50 points. So, if you just want to pray on pass volume being there
34:18for the Rams, hoping that Higbee can continue to earn five, six, seven targets in any given week, and then maybe he finds the end zone in a game
34:26that should have plenty of points scored. I think that there's enough there. I'll have him ranked as a mid-range tight end two on the week.
34:33Nothing super exciting, but you can tell yourself the story. All right, we will quickly close things out here with a couple of drops. Will Shipley, no doubt
34:41about it, you are dropping him. He is expected to miss a couple of weeks with some sort of foot injury. It was like a
34:47torn plantar fascia or something like that. You can drop him. Keaton Mitchell is someone who I had been advocating for as a pickup each of the last few weeks,
34:56but man, as this Chargers offense continues to take blows, injuries left and right, Trey Harris, Quentin Johnston, Ladd McConkey, the offensive
35:04line is entirely unrecognizable. It's getting tougher to roster Keaton Mitchell. Once he hits his bye, he will definitely be a bye week casualty, but I
35:13would not fault you for dropping Keaton Mitchell at this point. The usage is still there to some degree. He has some
35:20level of a receiving driven floor, but given the state of this offense, it is becoming tougher and tougher by the week
35:28to roster Keaton Mitchell. If you are in a crunch, I think that dropping him is reasonable. Other than him, there aren't
35:35too many names that really stand out here. I think Chris Rodriguez is quite clearly a reasonable drop. He is still getting some sort of usage in the red
35:45zone in goal-to-go situations, but he handles just two carries in this past game. It is quite clearly moving towards Bichon to the backfield. I don't think
35:54that there is any real reason to hold Chris Rodriguez anymore outside of some stories of contingent value. But other than that, here you see on these
36:03trending drops, a lot of them are the priority handcuffs. It's guys like Brian Robinson, Tyler Allgeier, Keaontay Ingram. I know at this point in the year
36:13with byes and injuries starting to stack up, these are the first guys who seem to be expendable. Personally, I would advocate holding on to them because each
36:21of those three guys, if the starter goes down, their role does become quite valuable. So, I would be trying to hold
36:28on to them. Specifically, Ke'Shawn Black. We know how good this 49ers offense is. If Christian McCaffrey does miss any time, such a nice role in such
36:37a strong offense. So, if you can avoid it, I would understand dropping these guys, but if you can avoid it, I would
36:42try not to. Moving over to the wide receivers here, we do have some injury-driven drops. Roman Wilson, yeah, you can give up on him. He is expected
36:51to miss a couple of weeks. Same story with Trey Harris. His value and his intrigue in fantasy football was largely driven by the short-term injuries to
37:00Ladd McConkey and Quinton Johnston.
37:02Then, Harris gets banged up on his own.
37:05We talked about Tyreek Hill a couple of weeks ago. Not only are there the concerns with the injury and the health
37:11stuff, but now there is a whole legal situation to deal with. I'm not going to try and speculate on or evaluate that. I
37:18was advising people to only spend a couple of dollars in FAB on him.
37:23Hopefully, that was the case because if you only spent a few bucks, you can easily drop him. And at this point, with
37:29no real update or news on him joining any team in particular, if you remember the initial reporting that he was going
37:36to potentially sign within a matter of days, with no update on that, I'm becoming more and more pessimistic that anything happens. So, I think that
37:44dropping him would be entirely reasonable. Courtland Sutton and Quinton Johnston, two similar situations. Both of them have been in offenses that are
37:53entirely under performing this year, and individually, they have looked horrific.
37:58I think that both of them are very much droppable in 10-team leagues as well as 12-team leagues with shallow benches. I
38:05don't see any real reason to keep sticking with these guys, given that we see them underperforming week in and week out. I mean, you see
38:13Courtland Sutton here hasn't hit 10 PPR points in a single game this year.
38:17Awesome way to spend a mid-round pick.
38:19Tight ends, usually, it's a pretty straightforward situation. The only player that I will really note is that I would continue to prefer to hold on to
38:28Kenyan Drake. He doesn't get a full game in in week five, he goes down with a concussion, he's in the protocol, he's a
38:34toss-up to miss week six as well. Still, this remained a wait-and-see situation.
38:40That is what I've been talking about week in and week out with Kenyan Drake.
38:43He was not a set-it-and-forget-it tight end one starter after that breakout performance against the Detroit Lions.
38:50That is how I'm still viewing him. I want to see more. If I have room on my roster, like I get it, if you have to
38:56drop Kenyan Drake, but if I have room on my roster, this is a talent, a player that I want to hold on to and just see
39:02how things work out for another couple of weeks because you see there are some favorable matchups coming up in the Dolphins and in the Raiders. The
39:10Patriots defense has looked attackable at moments, too, but we'll see if Drake is able to go in that one. All right,
39:16guys, that is going to do it for me here today. Hope you all enjoyed. Again, really, really gross week on the waiver
39:24wire, but definitely some interesting names out there, some guys that you can stash, some guys that you could consider getting into your lineup right away
39:30because I know lineups are getting really, really gross. So, hopefully this helps. Hope you all are on to week six in a good spot to make the playoffs and
39:40you can pick up some wins moving forward.
39:43That'll be it for me here today.
39:45I will see you all next time.
