A.J. Brown

NegativeValue31:49

JJ Zachariason is high on AJ Brown this year and expresses concern that market score comps rank him as wide receiver 18, which he views as too low; he personally ranks Brown at wide receiver 16, suggesting the comp-based ranking undervalues him relative to his projection and talent.

Insight page

Aaron Jones

NegativeRole53:54

JJ Zachariason notes Aaron Jones is older (32) and "definitely looks like he's lost a little bit of a step," making him vulnerable to Daman Claiborne in the Packers backfield. However, Zachariason also shares a personal anecdote about Jones being one of the nicest and most respected NFL players, and notes he's been a long-time fan. Despite Jones' age and decline, Zachariason still sees him as a potential pairing with Jordan Mason in the backfield.

Insight page

Bijan Robinson

PositiveProjection22:38

JJ Zachariason identifies Bijan Robinson as a beneficiary of Tua Tagovailoa's arrival in Atlanta, expecting Robinson to receive significant dump-off volume from Tua similar to the Miami pattern; positions Robinson as a key target in the Falcons offense under the new quarterback.

Insight page

Braelon Allen

NegativeValue16:40

Zachariason questions why Braylon Allen goes where he does in drafts when he is likely only a handcuff with minimal standalone production in a bad Jets offense. Isaiah Davis is now the favorite per recent reports, and Zachariason does not see strong value in Allen.

Insight page

Brian Robinson

NegativeRole20:20

Zachariason notes that if B. John Robinson gets hurt, Brian Robinson will take on a lot of work, but Brian Robinson has not been a stellar pass catcher either, creating limitations in his upside as a handcuff.

Insight page

Brian Thomas Jr.

NegativeValue14:00

Zachariason references Brian Thomas as the player commanding a significant ADP/valuation gap over Parker Washington on major fantasy platforms. While not elaborated in detail, the implication is that Thomas is valued higher, though Zachariason suggests the gap is wider than warranted.

Insight page

Chase Brown

NegativeProjection30:30

JJ Zachariason identifies a significant 1.3 points-per-game drop-off from Chase Brown (RB14) to RJ Harvey (RB15) in market score comp projections, indicating notable downside risk or projection uncertainty for Brown relative to his draft position.

Insight page

Chris Rodriguez

NegativeRole15:00

Zachariason views Chris Rodriguez as a better pick in best ball than season-long because production will likely be unpredictable and one-off (e.g., a single touchdown). Rodriguez is not a lock for all goal-line work given Bayshall Tootin's significant role last year. Zachariason characterizes preferring Rodriguez over Tootin as a safe, low-upside bet with limited predictability week-to-week.

Insight page

Christian Watson

NegativeProjection31:19

JJ Zachariason mentions Christian Watson in the context of market score comp projections analysis, though specific downside or upside is not detailed in this excerpt.

Insight page
NegativeValue31:19

Christian Watson is included in JJ Zachariason's market score comp analysis as a player where historical comps diverge from current market valuation; the specific direction of the divergence is not detailed in this segment.

Insight page

Courtland Sutton

NegativeValue24:50

JJ Zachariason strongly opposes Cortland Sutton's draft capital in season-long leagues, where ESPN and Yahoo have him at wide receiver 33-37 while Zachariason ranks him at wide receiver 44. He notes Sutton has never had a WR1 season, only one WR2 season in PPR points per game, and his yards per route run has not exceeded 2.0 in seven years. Adding Jalen Waddle to the offense should not sustain Sutton's production; Troy Franklin outproduced Sutton in a three-to-four-game stretch last season in the same role.

Insight page

D.J. Moore

NegativeProjection31:19

JJ Zachariason mentions DJ Moore in the context of market score comp projections analysis, though specific downside or upside is not detailed in this excerpt.

Insight page
NegativeValue31:19

DJ Moore is included in JJ Zachariason's market score comp analysis as a player where historical comps diverge from current market valuation; the specific direction of the divergence is not detailed in this segment.

Insight page

David Montgomery

NegativeRole8:00

JJ Zachariason characterizes Montgomery as a classic dead-zone running back archetype; not young, boosted by projection, and not an elite pass catcher. While he could get significant work, Zachariason is underweight on Montgomery because he prefers more tantalizing upside elsewhere, especially as a third running back in builds. He cautions against overweighting the Texans backfield given CJ Stroud's inconsistency since his rookie season and the run game's historical inefficiency.

Insight page
NegativeProjection30:48

JJ Zachariason highlights David Montgomery as a running back showing downside risk in market score comp projections, indicating his comps suggest lower production than his market score alone might indicate.

Insight page
NegativeProjection31:04

JJ Zachariason notes David Montgomery as a running back with downside risk in market score comp analysis; the comps suggest lower historical precedent for his current market valuation.

Insight page

DeVonta Smith

NegativeValue31:10

DeVonta Smith's market score comps don't love him despite the actual market score being neutral; the historical comp analysis suggests his current valuation may be optimistic relative to similar player outcomes.

Insight page

Drake London

PositiveProjection22:08

JJ Zachariason projects Drake London could achieve a 28-30% target share in 2024 with Tua Tagovailoa in Atlanta, citing Tua's pattern of consolidating targets to his best options and the Falcons' limited secondary receiving options; expects London to be one of two or three primary targets in the offense.

Insight page

Eli Stowers

NegativeProjection56:48

JJ Zachariason is interested in Eli Stowers as a potential rookie tight end dart throw but notes there are reports he could have a "red shirt season" essentially. Stowers is older than Kenyon Sadiq, which is concerning because a rookie season without production is typically a rough sign for an older prospect. Stowers can't block, but that's not required for a pass-catching tight end. Zachariason is anxious to see how Stowers fits in the new Eagles system with Jalen Hurts.

Insight page

Elijah Sarratt

PositiveRole50:49

JJ Zachariason received Michael Thomas and Pat Bryant comps for Elijah Surratt but notes JJ Zachariason Harmon correctly identified him as a "big slot" (similar to how Harmon called Keon Coleman a big slot and was right about Coleman's lack of separation on the outside). Surratt profiles as a big slot for the Ravens, and with Isaiah Likely gone, the Ravens' smart staff should deploy him in the slot alongside Mark Andrews. As a late-round pick with a defined role, Surratt could see spiked weeks and excite people once that role is clarified.

Insight page

Gunnar Helm

PositiveValue51:50

JJ Zachariason is ahead of the market on Gunner Helm, a late-round tight end with poor athleticism scores (due to injury during drills) but strong intangibles. Helm fits the late-round tight-end archetype of an open pass-catching room with ambiguous target distribution. Tennessee has no tight end competing with him (Daniel Bellinger is not a pass-catching threat), so if there's chatter about Helm being a top target—which Zachariason thinks is very possible—he could rise in ADP. Helm is not even ranked on some big platforms.

Insight page

Hayden Hurst

PositiveProjection21:48

JJ Zachariason cautions that Hayden Hurst's fantasy value is heavily dependent on Tua Tagovailoa; notes that without Tua, Hurst was 'completely useless in fantasy football' last year, and while Hurst may maintain a 20% target share, the floor is significantly lower than 2023 production because Tua was elevating him; expects Tua to provide a floor but not guarantee the same ceiling.

Insight page

Isaiah Davis

PositiveValue16:20

Zachariason notes that Isaiah Davis is the favorite over Braylon Allen in the Jets backfield per a report by Zach Rosenblatt in The Athletic. Zachariason believes Davis is a better player than Allen with a more receiving skillset, and he does not understand why Allen goes where he does in drafts as a handcuff in a bad offense. Davis is not even getting drafted in most drafts, making him a potential value.

Insight page

Isiah Pacheco

NegativeRole18:00

Zachariason cautions that Simone Vocky may eat into Isaiah Pacheco's touches, which would diminish his value. More broadly, Zachariason warns that Pacheco's talent profile is not elite; he is fragile and dependent on the starter staying healthy. Zachariason notes he was a Pacheco truther who profited from him but now recognizes his limitations. The key is evaluating the backup's talent profile, not just assuming he will take over if the starter is injured.

Insight page

J.K. Dobbins

NegativeValue46:21

JJ Zachariason is not drafting JK Dobbins and argues there is no reason to reach for him in season-long leagues. Dobbins is being drafted as high as RB 30 (Yahoo RB 35, ESPN RB 33) but has the same archetype as Jordan Mason (RB 44–46), who has easier backfield competition. Dobbins was not used as a receiver last year, is coming off injury with a history of injuries, and is not a pass catcher. With the Jonah Coleman factor potentially limiting his work, Zachariason sees no upside and advocates for arbitraging Mason 50 picks later on ESPN instead.

Insight page

Jalen Coker

NegativeRole27:00

JJ Zachariason notes that Jalen Coker's fantasy value could be dampened by Teddero McMillan's increased slot work in Carolina's offense. Coker is a good slot player himself, so McMillan's shift to more slot snaps would reduce Coker's opportunity in that area.

Insight page
PositiveRole27:47

JJ Zachariason notes that Jalen Coker is a pretty good slot player himself, which could dampen his fantasy value if another slot-capable receiver joins his team, reducing his target share and role clarity.

Insight page

Jaylen Waddle

NegativeRole24:02

Adam Schefter reported that Jalen Waddle is playing the 'Joker' role in the Denver offense; JJ Zachariason contextualizes the Joker role as a Sean Payton deployment tool that typically involves lining players all over the field in interesting ways, historically used with tight ends and running backs (Darren Sproles, Jimmy Graham); suggests the Joker label itself shouldn't be a major concern and may represent value in the Denver offense.

Insight page
PositiveValue24:30

JJ Zachariason rates Waddle as a smash at his ADP in season-long leagues, where ESPN and Yahoo have him at wide receiver 22-24 while Zachariason has him at wide receiver 17. He expects Waddle to play the Z position frequently in Miami's offense, which should sustain his fantasy production despite the addition of Cortland Sutton to the roster.

Insight page

Jonah Coleman

PositiveValue44:47

JJ Zachariason is "on an island" with Jonah Coleman, who is underrated in best ball despite being a backup to both JK Dobbins and RJ Harvey. Coleman is a jack-of-all-trades (early down, pass catching, pass pro) who provides stability in an offense with an injury-prone veteran (Dobbins) and volatile second-year back (Harvey). Zachariason expects Coleman's ADP to rise once beat reporters report first-team mixing, as he could see 5–7 touches per game and has multiple contingent outs if either Dobbins or Harvey gets hurt. In season-long, he's only draftable in deep-bench situations, but in best ball he's underrated.

Insight page

Jordan Mason

PositiveValue46:21

JJ Zachariason has been "on oddly team Jordan Mason" for the last month, despite not being on that team in the past. He recognizes Mason is not a complete running back and lacks pass-catching chops, but sees him as better value than JK Dobbins at a similar archetype. Mason is ranked RB 44–46 across platforms, making him 50+ picks cheaper than Dobbins (RB 33–35) while offering similar early-down grinder production with easier backfield competition.

Insight page

Kenyon Sadiq

PositiveValue56:48

JJ Zachariason has been drafting Kenyon Sadiq and thinks he's "actually not a bad pick," especially at reasonable prices on platforms like ESPN. Sadiq is one of two rookie tight ends (along with Eli Stowers) being considered as potential late-round dart throws. Sadiq has been dealing with a hernia injury, but Zachariason is interested in his upside and sees him as draftable at current market prices.

Insight page

Kyle Pitts

NegativeProjection22:22

JJ Zachariason suggests Kyle Pitts 'could be decent' in the Falcons offense with Tua Tagovailoa, positioning him as a secondary receiving option behind Drake London in an offense with limited target distribution.

Insight page

Malachi Fields

PositiveBreakout43:33

JJ Zachariason acknowledges Malachi Fields is not a strong prospect—he had mediocre age-adjusted collegiate production over five years and separation issues—but sees a real breakout opportunity given his size (he's a "size freak") and the opening in the Giants offense. Zachariason expects highlight-reel "mossing defenders" moments that could spark hype, especially in the red zone, and has been drafting Fields around round 20 alongside Jackson Dart to get exposure to the Giants offense, particularly with the injury to Neighbors.

Insight page

Michael Penix Jr.

NegativeProjection21:08

JJ Zachariason expresses skepticism about Penix's NFL performance to date, stating he's 'not sold' on him and hasn't been 'inspired' by what Penix has shown; notes Penix has also struggled with injury durability, suggesting limited upside for Falcons passing game contributors.

Insight page
NegativeProjection21:30

Zachariason expresses skepticism about Michael Penix's NFL performance, questioning what Penix has shown so far. Zachariason notes Penix had one good game but is not sold on his long-term viability, suggesting uncertainty about his role in the Lions offense.

Insight page

Parker Washington

PositiveValue13:45

Zachariason notes that Parker Washington is marked as a target in the draft guide despite not being personally high on him. The key insight is that major fantasy platforms are unbelievably low on Washington relative to Brian Thomas, creating a gap that Zachariason believes is unnecessary. Washington could see significant volume in the Jaguars offense and has PPR upside; Jaguars head coach Liam Cohen spoke bullishly about Washington on Peter Schrager's show.

Insight page

RJ Harvey

PositiveProjection30:38

JJ Zachariason's market score comp projections show RJ Harvey at RB15, with a notable 1.3 points-per-game improvement over Chase Brown (RB14), suggesting Harvey's comp profile is more favorable relative to his market expectations.

Insight page

Sam LaPorta

PositiveInjury21:00

Sam Laporta has been fully cleared for training camp after a successful micro disc ectomy, per reports from Schefter and others. This is positive news for his availability.

Insight page

Saquon Barkley

NegativeRole19:40

Zachariason uses Saquon Barkley as a reference point when discussing Tank Bigsby's handcuff value. If Barkley were to go down, Bigsby would see a boost, but the extent of receiving work is uncertain.

Insight page

Stefon Diggs

NegativeDepth Chart27:55

JJ Zachariason notes that Stefon Diggs has not yet signed with a team and remains unsigned, expressing surprise at his continued free agent status.

Insight page
NegativeRole27:55

JJ Zachariason expects Stefan Diggs to sign with Washington as the replacement for Iuke in the slot role, pairing well with Terry McLaurin who stretches the field; Zachariason does not want to see Diggs go to Baltimore due to volume concerns and preference to keep Zay Flowers' target share high, though Kansas City is also a possibility.

Insight page

Tank Bigsby

NegativeRole19:00

Zachariason notes that while Tank Bigsby was very good per rush last year and has been solid on the ground, he has never been a true bell cow through the air and has horrific per-route-run metrics as a pass catcher in the NFL. If Saquon Barkley goes down, Bigsby gets a huge boost, but the receiving work would be limited. Zachariason cautions against assuming Bigsby would automatically take over all of Barkley's work.

Insight page

Tank Dell

NegativeRole42:04

JJ Zachariason pushes back on the narrative that CJ Stroud's poor performance is due to Tank Dell's absence. Stroud averaged 13.2 standard points per game with Dell in 2024 and only a couple points below that in three games without him, indicating Stroud's struggles are broader (offensive line, coordinator fit, quarterback play) rather than Dell-dependent. However, Zachariason still sees a real chance Dell gets "steamed up" in late July and August with talented receivers around him in Houston.

Insight page

Terry McLaurin

PositiveRole28:15

JJ Zachariason notes that Terry McLaurin can stretch the field really well, supporting the fit with Stefan Diggs who is past the point in his career of being a deep-threat receiver.

Insight page

Travis Etienne

NegativeRole15:00

Zachariason references Travis Etienne in the context of Bayshall Tootin's superior success rate last year. Etienne's role is implied to be diminished or less efficient relative to Tootin's performance.

Insight page

Tua Tagovailoa

PositiveProjection21:28

JJ Zachariason views Tua as 'a fine pick' in late-round drafts and expects him to elevate Falcons receivers; notes Tua's willingness to consolidate targets to his best options (similar to Miami pattern) and projects Drake London could hit 28-30% target share with Tua distributing to two or three primary targets; expects Tua to provide a floor for Falcons pass catchers even if not a Pro Bowl-caliber season.

Insight page
PositiveValue22:10

Zachariason notes that Tua Tagovailoa has been going later in drafts and considers him a fine pick at his current ADP.

Insight page

Woody Marks

NegativeRole9:00

Zachariason notes that Woody Marks was previously thought to handle pass-catching work in the Texans backfield, but recent reports suggest David Montgomery may split reps. Zachariason cautions against taking beat reporter speculation too seriously given conflicting reports from a month prior. He does not view Marks as particularly special either.

Insight page

Zay Flowers

PositiveRole28:28

JJ Zachariason wants to maintain Zay Flowers' high target share and is concerned that Stefan Diggs signing with Baltimore would reduce volume for Flowers, indicating Zachariason views Flowers as a key target-dependent asset in the Ravens offense.

0:53Welcome in. Welcome in. Welcome in. It's the The Late-Round Fantasy Football Podcast, sponsored by DraftKings.
0:58David Kitchen here alongside JJ Zacharyarysen. And JJ, you were on vacation last week, but it's...
1:03I don't know. It's like the stats were piling up against you, basically.
1:07This is the first, like, normal day that I've had since being back.
1:11We got back on Saturday, and this is Wednesday that we're recording this.
1:15I not only got sick on Thursday, so Thursday, Friday, kind of under the weather, just kind of pushed through with some Tylenol, you know, and whatever.
1:23And that's why I'm a little congested now. I'm kind of on the tail end of it.
1:28But got sick. We got home. If you listen to Becoming a Best Ball Bro, you heard this.
1:34Our upstairs AC was completely broken, which is where my office is and all my equipment and et cetera, et cetera.
1:40And it's not very easy to move this stuff when you got kids running around and stuff like that.
1:46So that episode that you guys listened to on Tuesday, I was quite literally dripping sweat by the end of it.
1:53I mean, like, had to immediately put the shirt in the gym hamper, you know, after I was done with it.
1:59I mean, and I was getting nervous because that's where your guest bedroom was located.
2:04And that's right. I'll be flying to, you know, to the Camp JJ, and then we're going to be road tripping to the Fantasy Football Expo this weekend.
2:12Yes. If anyone's there, say hello. Hopefully Harold Fanden's mom is there this year.
2:17I don't think I thought about this. Remember, because I was thinking also we had our deal with the NFL.
2:23Well, we were in talks with the NFL and iHeart Media back then about the deal.
2:28And like part of it was the scroller. And we were watching the Hall of Fame games.
2:33We're like, how cool would this be if we saw it?
2:36Will we get it this year? Will that be happening?
2:39It could be. Yeah. But the thing is, the Expo is earlier.
2:43Right. Right. So there's not going to be like sitting there on TV while we're...
2:48Right. Harold Fanden's mom was actually watching. That's a good point.
2:51Her son play. Yeah. It's two weeks. The problem with like...
2:54So the Expo is earlier this year. It's usually the week after the Hall of Fame game.
3:00This year, it's the week before. You can't do it the week of the Hall of Fame game because it's in Canton
3:06and it's at the Hall of Fame. So you can't do it that weekend.
3:11So it's technically like two weeks earlier than when it typically is.
3:14So it's going to be a little bit different.
3:17But I'm excited because I know there's going to be a different set of people that are there that aren't typically able to get there.
3:25So I'm excited for the trip. Honestly, after the way, I think I'm just excited to hopefully settle in and not, you
3:31know, have the chaos that's been going on. Not only that, this morning kitchen, this morning, I'm getting the kids ready to go to their camp and daycare.
3:40And all of a sudden, I realized I can't find CJ anywhere, my three and a half year old son.
3:46Okay. I can't find them anywhere. I don't know what's going on.
3:50And so I start like panicking because he's only three and a half and he's kind of crazy.
3:55And so I start screaming from like the top of my lungs for him to emerge wherever he's at.
4:01Silence. There's just nothing. And then all of a sudden, I realized after five minutes of panic, we realized that he was
4:08in he was hiding in my wife's my wife's closet.
4:11Like we have the split closet situation. He was hiding in the closet in.
4:15I remember doing this as a kid to like going into my parents closet and like hiding and like being like, you
4:22know, behind the clothing that's hanging and stuff like that.
4:25And he was he thought we were playing like hide and seek and he didn't tell anyone.
4:30And despite the fact that I was yelling for him, he wasn't coming out.
4:35And so we had to have a little talk about how when we play hide and seek, got to let everyone know that we're playing hide and seek.
4:43Yeah. Yeah, that's scary. Like those when you think you're your kid, like, where's my kid?
4:48Right. Right. I remember some of those. And now, you know, now it's just like, all right, they're around here somewhere.
4:55I got someone in chat saying, does the J and CJ stand for the same thing as the second J and JJ?
5:01It does not. We actually didn't name CJ because we adopted CJ when he was six weeks old.
5:07We we were the ones who started calling him CJ, but his birth mother also was like had that idea as well.
5:14So we didn't name him. That's the that's the short of it.
5:17I used to always say that if I ever had a child that I would never give them initial name, an initial
5:24name because it was so annoying going to school and having to correct your teacher every every year.
5:30And everyone's like, oh, your name's blah, blah, blah.
5:32You know, I'm not going to say it because some people just call me that you guys can find it easily.
5:39But I didn't want to do that to my own kid.
5:42And I ended up doing that with with my child.
5:45As long as they don't put on your FM Expo tag this year.
5:49That's true. It was on my my my lanyard last year.
5:53Yeah. All right. We have some things to get to as far as news and notes.
5:57But before that, go to layround.com and either sign up to be a member or purchase the draft guy draft guy is out.
6:05It's already had two updates. Update number three will be happening on Friday.
6:09So excited about that. Every Friday, you're going to get an update from us.
6:13The season starts through the end of August. And I'll access member and have that included in your membership.
6:19Yes. I already know. I haven't written all the blurbs yet for what I'm updating the players to target avoid in dark throws.
6:26But I know who I will be adding this week.
6:29And I think it's exciting. So it's a I don't know this time of year.
6:33I think that definitely is exciting. One of the guys exciting.
6:37Yeah, he he's going to be he's on this show somewhere.
6:40Oh, I'll just we won't tell you where but he is on this show somewhere.
6:45He is on this show somewhere. All right. Shout out to our sponsor draft kings for sponsoring the show promo code late round link is in the description.
6:53If you want the draft one get one. They had another best ball week last week.
6:58But this week, they're also doing a deal where you get cash back for the number of entries that you draft in the best ball millie contest.
7:07And JJ, you and I have been comparing exposures and also draft slots.
7:11I'm 92 drafts in you are I think 82 or 83.
7:14Now I think I'm like 86. I did another one.
7:17I've been doing the the zone to Peloton rides while drafting and then one at night typically.
7:22Did you see in the best ball chat that I got number one overall pick last night and a member tagged me.
7:29He's like, I didn't get the number one overall pick, but kitchen did.
7:33And also Levitan was in the draft as well.
7:36So I was. Yeah, I mean, guys, I'm telling you what I'm almost I think I'm almost 90 drafts in and I've
7:42gotten the 101 three times and I've gotten the one oh the 110.
7:46Yeah, what was it 15 times? I think it's been at this point.
7:50I've gotten so much five to seven also. So I have so much JSN too.
7:55So I'm trying to I don't want to I don't want to go crazy and start taking Amon Ra over JSN in that spot yet.
8:03But I will have to do that if it just keeps happening.
8:06I only have three number three slots. So like Jamar Chase, who's the guy that always goes there.
8:12Yeah, but not have it. But like he'll fall to four.
8:15Like I think I mean, I have Puka ahead of Chase straight up in my rankings.
8:20So like like realistically, that's a spot where I would be totally.
8:24You can't not have the 101 like Jameer Gibbs could go nuclear this year.
8:28And and only having three out of 90 drafts is incredibly tilting.
8:32All right, JJ, I did see in the chat we had.
8:35What up, JJ and David? Love the show. Only show I can't listen to on 2X.
8:40Love the work. Danani Zane. My man, my man is crushing it with with the news items and such.
8:46And we appreciate him. And speaking of, let's get into it.
8:49It's today's news. Today's fantasy news. All right. First on the list.
8:53If you are a Montgomery truther, this might scare you a little bit.
8:57Is he going to be splitting reps this year, JJ?
9:00The problem with this report, this is a very classic like beat reporter.
9:04I can't take it very seriously report because number one, we don't know yet.
9:08And number two, literally a month ago, less than a month ago, I think there was a completely like separate report that
9:15was saying that David Montgomery was going to be the bell cow and he was going to take work through the air as well.
9:22Like that was what people thought would be more of the Woody Marks role.
9:27I don't think that we know. Uh, I've said it before on this show that, you know, my rankings, I need to,
9:34I need to really hone in on that area of my rankings because it's kind of difficult to get what I, cause
9:40for me, rankings are like me trying to describe how I feel about certain players to people who are consuming those rankings.
9:47Right. And I'm trying to, it's a really hard area of the draft to do that.
9:52Um, and so with David Montgomery though, I've said it before on this show.
9:56I think that like, if you want to, if you want to talk about a generally sort of the archetype of a
10:03dead zone running back, I do think that David Montgomery checks a lot of those boxes where he's not young.
10:09Uh, you know, he, he goes in that range where he's being boosted by projection a bit.
10:14It's not like it's this like glorious situation and he's not ever been like an amazing, amazing pass catcher.
10:20I think that he's fine as a pass catcher.
10:23Like, could he easily get a lot of work and be fine?
10:27Yeah. I, that's why I'm not like fading Montgomery completely, but I'm underweight on Montgomery because I just think there's more tantalizing
10:33upside with some other players that are going around him.
10:36Uh, that I would rather take a chance on, especially in certain builds.
10:40Like if I have two running backs already and I'm looking at a third running back, I don't want David Montgomery.
10:47I want Bayshall to, you know, in, in that kind of, kind of environment and situation.
10:52So, uh, I, I would, I would pump the brakes a little bit on this particular report as I would on the
10:59other report about David Montgomery being just the full blown bell cow in this backfield and seeing, you know, the, the 80%
11:05backfield share that we want these backs to, you know, that's very rare for these backs to hit.
11:11Uh, with that being said, I don't think Woody marks is that special either, but like, let's just keep in mind, like
11:18things changed offensively for, for this Texans team. Uh, you know, the offensive line should be better, but man, I'll tell you
11:24what, like CJ Stroud has been rough the last couple of years and basically since his rookie season and the offensive line
11:31has not been good and the run game has not been overly efficient.
11:35And so like, I don't, I don't really want to be overweight on a situation like that.
11:40Just assuming that it can just get so, so good.
11:43Um, you know, in an instant, uh, one, one off season like that.
11:47So like I said, uh, I think that he is a classic dead zone back from an archetype standpoint, but it's not
11:54as obvious as like when Alexander Madison was in there or like Zamir white or those kinds of players were like, there's
12:01not even a backbone of those guys being relevant in fantasy football.
12:04Okay. Uh, guy that's been in the news this week, Peter Schrager, his, uh, you know, he didn't, he never played, but,
12:11uh, Oh man, by the way, I, I saw the, uh, the clip and I forgot that it existed.
12:17The clip of D'Angelo Williams. Yeah. With Kyle Brandt and Schrags.
12:20Like this is like years ago. Right. And it's, it's D'Angelo Williams was tearing them apart for having not played, even though
12:27Brandt did play in college and he went to Princeton and, and you know, whatever.
12:32It's just embarrassing. Like that, that whole discussion from players is just so beyond embarrassing.
12:36When you turn on the TV and you see LaShawn McCoy and look, I went to pit.
12:42I like shady. Okay. But my God, the takes are ridiculous.
12:45They're, they're obscene. And I have no problem saying that because I can point to all of them and say, they're just, they're just crazy.
12:53You don't need to play the game to understand the game and vice versa.
12:57Are there people out there that have not played the game that are really bad at analyzing it?
13:02Yes. Uh, are there players though that played the game and are terrible at analyzing it?
13:07Yes. So, you know, just take a case by case.
13:10And I think Schrags in particular is very, very good at his job.
13:14So I want to shout him out after you, uh, you know, preface with that.
13:19Yeah. And he had Liam Cohen, Jags head coach on the show, and it was a fun show.
13:25You know, we've talked about the Jags offense. He talked about Parker Washington and all roads, Bayshall Tootin.
13:30So if, uh, if you've been drafting those guys, you're high on those guys, or you hold them in, in your dynasty leagues, you're feeling good right now.
13:39Yeah. Look, the thing with Parker Washington, which by the way, both those guys are from the start of the draft guide
13:45release, they've been, they've been dubbed as targets in the guy.
13:49Now you might be saying like, wow, JJ's high on Parker Washington.
13:52Not really. I just think that the, the platforms, the big fantasy platforms out there, non-best ball platforms are unbelievably low on Parker Washington.
14:00There's a very, very big gap outside of best ball between a Brian Thomas and Parker Washington.
14:05When I think that that gap is, is not necessary, you know, because there's a very real chance that Washington's a PPR scam as he was.
14:13And he, I mean, he was really good too.
14:16I just mean that he could see a lot of volume in that offense, the way that they deployed him.
14:22But yeah, I mean, like Liam Cohen's words about Parker Washington were really bullish.
14:26And then the way that he talked about Bayshall Tootin, which I just go back to what I said from the start
14:33about this backfield where I look, I, I think that, and this is the take that kind of like wrecks people's brains.
14:40Cause I've had a lot of people hit me about this, but Chris Rodriguez to me is a better pick in best
14:47ball than he is in managed season long, because you're, you're going to more than likely get some production from Rodriguez this year.
14:54I just am fearful that it's not very predictive and predictable because it'll maybe be a one-off touchdown, which I don't think
15:00that he's a lock to see all of the goal line work given Bayshall Tootin played that role in a pretty significant way last year.
15:08And then Bayshall Tootin also had a really good success rate last year versus Travis Etienne.
15:13So you know, you have, you have Chris Rodriguez, who I think will score, we'll get some production and we'll get some early down work.
15:21I don't want to deal with that week to week and season long that much, you know, uh, he's fallen in drafts
15:27where I've actually taken them quite a bit just because of the, the injury stuff and the scare there.
15:33But, uh, yeah, I mean, to me, it's, it's what I said at the start.
15:38I think, I think, uh, you know, drafting Chris Rodriguez or preferring him over Bayshall Tootin is a, is a five condom
15:45way of, of looking at this where it's, it's just a very like safe, low upside type bet.
15:50Whereas it's very clear. The upside is with Bayshall Tootin.
15:53Now, could you argue that four or five, six years ago, Bayshall Tootin's ADP would be more seventies or eighties or nineties even.
16:00Yeah. You could argue that the, the market's gotten sharper, but I don't think that where Tootin gets drafted, which by the
16:07way, if you look at Yahoo or ESPN, he gets drafted after well, after RB two range, like he's in, he's in
16:14like RB 26 to RB 28 land. And I think he's closer to like RB 20.
16:19So I I'm, I'm more than willing to throw that dart because I know the hit rates are just not very strong anyway.
16:26And that fifth, sixth round range. Yeah. As far as backup running backs, the guys who we've been looking at, uh, these
16:32next two notes, Mike Gibbs, people, some anxiety, Isaiah Davis, possibly the new running back to a report in the athletic by
16:39Zach Rosenblatt, um, was basically comparing the running back to situation and said that right now the, the favorite is Isaiah Davis over Braylon Allen.
16:47Yes. And by the way, I bent over, I'm going to be blowing my nose throughout this.
16:52So don't think that anything weird. Yeah. Not Robbie Williams.
16:55Yeah. Yeah. Nothing. Nothing. Robbie Williams ask. Yeah. I saw it.
16:58I knew exactly what happened, but I didn't want to alert people and, and you know, it's a podcast listener.
17:05No, I got congestion. You know, we all get it.
17:08Uh, yeah. So the Isaiah Davis, Braylon Allen thing's interesting because I think that Isaiah Davis is better than Braylon Allen.
17:14Like I, I think he's a better player than Allen is and he has a more of a receiving skillset.
17:20And I have not understood really why Allen goes where he goes in, in a lot of these drafts when you're talking
17:27like more than likely a handcuff, right? Like not going to have a ton of standalone, uh, production, uh, from him.
17:33And then on top of that, uh, you're in a bad offense.
17:37You're on a good offensive situation. The offensive line shouldn't be that bad for the jets, but yeah, Isaiah Davis, if there,
17:44if he's there, are we too, wouldn't, wouldn't shock me at all right now.
17:48He's, he's not even getting drafted in most of these drafts.
17:52Okay. What about, uh, Simone Vocky possibly eating into Isaiah Pacheco's touches.
17:55Pacheco has been a popular guy, especially in the best bowl world, you know, where he came from Kansas city.
18:01So, uh, if Vocky eats into his touches that, you know, that's going to eat into some of his value.
18:07This is going to be a weird video. So, uh, the, the audio is fine.
18:12Just, just, just listen to the audio this week.
18:15Uh, but yeah, no, I, I said this about Pacheco before where the one thing that we have to always keep in
18:22mind when we're drafting these backups, especially, you know, this is definitely more best ball focused than it is season long.
18:28Cause you can just drop the guy, but you have to still worry about the talent profile of the backup because there's fragility involved there, right?
18:36Like if Arizona cuts James Connor or Trey Benson, you don't think that their old offensive coordinator might be like, Hey, I want them.
18:43I want them on our team and we need some running back depth.
18:47Then all of a sudden Isaiah Pacheco is dust because he's not that talented himself at this point.
18:53And it's coming from a truther. I used to, I mean, I loved Isaiah Pacheco.
18:58He won me lots of money. Uh, and so I, I, I think that we have to still recognize the talent profile
19:04of, of who that backup is and what that backup is.
19:08You know, it's similar to like tank Bigsby in a way where I get the allure with Bigsby because he was very good per rush last year.
19:16He's a, he's, he's been good on the ground, right?
19:19But he's never been a true bell cow, like through the air.
19:23And he's not been good as a pass catcher in the NFL, right?
19:27Like per route run, horrific metrics. And so Saquon goes down.
19:30Yeah. Tank Bigsby gets a huge boost, but how much receiving work is Bigsby going to get?
19:35You have to look at the individual and I'm not saying he's a good or bad pick.
19:40I'm just saying, make sure you're evaluating what that backup is and what he is as a player, as opposed to saying he is the backup.
19:48And if this guy gets hurt, then I know for sure, this is the way this is going to go.
19:55If B. John Robinson gets hurt, Brian Robinson will take on a lot of work, but we know Brian Robinson has not
20:01been a stellar pass catcher either, you know? And so there's, there's limitations there.
20:06The best handcuffs that you can find are the ones that you do feel good about their pass catching role.
20:12And we know that the early down work is a little bit more replaceable.
20:16And I don't see any reason why Isaiah Davis can't be looked at as a better or like, like comparable runner to,
20:23you know, Braylon Allen or Isaiah Pacheco and, and, and Baki, like having a comparable, uh, rushing profile, all things considered.
20:29So like, there's just a lot of fragility to what's going on in that backup role, which is why I haven't quite
20:36been able to buy into where Pacheco is going in drafts.
20:39Okay. Uh, staying on the lions, Schefter and other people reported yesterday, good news.
20:44For Sam Laporta, he has been fully cleared for training camp after successful micro disc, micro disc ectomy.
20:49Yeah. There you go. You killed that. You say it.
20:52Yeah. Yeah. Uh, yeah. So, so I'm, uh, I'm not really attached to anyone in this, in this offense from a, from a passing standpoint.
21:00Um, I, I would imagine that we see, uh, to, uh, start the season.
21:04He's the one that has been attached to this regime, if you will.
21:08Uh, and, and I don't think my, I like, what has Michael Penix shown us so far in the NFL?
21:14That's like, I don't know. Is he good? Penix?
21:17Yeah. Yeah. Um, I mean, he had that one good game.
21:21Like I I've just, I don't know. I, I, I, I just am not sold that.
21:25Like, this is, this is it for him. Yeah.
21:28Um, Tua has been going like later on in drafts, in basketball drafts.
21:32I think Tua is a, like a, a fine pick.
21:35Interesting click. Yeah. My, my only thing is that like, I do think that like, they might want to see what they
21:42have after they're out of playoff contention, you know, with, with Penix and make sure and check that box.
21:48But, um, yeah, man, I mean, like I've, I've not been inspired by Michael Penix since he's done what he's done.
21:54He's also shown that he's not been able to stay healthy.
21:58Um, so my, my stance is that like, I think, I mean, look, I think Tua is, is potentially very, very good for Bijan Robinson too.
22:06Um, so there, there's, there's that going for him.
22:08And we know that the, the target consolidation is pretty strong in Atlanta.
22:12And we saw that in Miami, uh, with, with Tua that he, that he wasn't afraid to just give it to his guys.
22:19And it's a very similar situation where like you have like two or three good targets and the rest of the team is really iffy.
22:27Um, and so I, I, I don't think that it would be shocking to see Drake London hit like a 28% target share, 30% target share this year.
22:36Kyle Pitts could be decent. Uh, and then, and then Bijan just getting a lot of those dump offs that, that we've
22:42seen, you know, I don't want to attribute all of it with H and to Tua, but one of the crazy things
22:49with H and right now, uh, is the way that people are talking about like how there's no one else there in that offense.
22:57And so it's not that big of a deal that, um, you know, that, that everything's changed.
23:02There's a new quarterback, like who else are they going to throw to?
23:06He can still maintain that 20% target share. I would agree, but without Tua, we saw H and be completely useless in fantasy football.
23:13Like we've, we've literally seen the floor. The floor is not what happened last year.
23:18You guys, the, the, the, the dolphins offense last year was not good, but that's not the floor for a guy like
23:24H and because Tua was still elevating him just from a, a pure, um, you know, how we, how we score fantasy football perspective.
23:32Right. Um, and I feel that that way with Tua in Atlanta, where I do think that he can at least give
23:39these guys a floor and be a distributor. Do I think he's going to all of a sudden be a pro bowler?
23:45Well, shouldn't say pro bowler. Cause that doesn't really matter anymore.
23:49Uh, I mean, Shador Sanders is a pro bowler, uh, but no, like, I don't think he's going to be like, have like a special season or anything.
23:57Okay. Uh, Adam Schefter came out with his, as podcast yesterday, talk about training camp notes.
24:02And one of those was that Jalen Waddle's playing the Joker and Denver.
24:06And if you remember last year, people were all about Evan Ingram because the word Joker was attached to him.
24:12So Joker means value basically in the Denver offense.
24:15Yeah. I mean like Sean Payton has always had this Joker role where he lines, it's usually not a wide receiver.
24:22It's usually a tight end or a running back where he lines these guys all over the field and, uh, likes to deploy them in interesting ways.
24:30Like Darren Sproles was, was sort of that role at one point.
24:34Jimmy Graham was that role at one point. And like, it's probably not, uh, something that we need to be that concerned
24:40about, um, and worry about the labeling of it.
24:43But I do think that this is just another instance of like, I don't understand why Cortland Sutton gets drafted where he gets drafted.
24:50And I don't understand where, why Jalen Waddle gets drafted where he gets drafted.
24:55And I'm not talking about best ball. I'm talking about season long leagues right now.
24:59If you look at, uh, Yahoo and ESPN, we're talking wide receiver 22 and wide receiver 24 for Jalen Waddle.
25:05Uh, according to, to ADP, uh, I have my wide receiver 17.
25:09So that's a pretty big difference. And then ESPN and Yahoo have Cortland Sutton at a wide receiver 33 and wide receiver 37.
25:16I have said no wider receiver 44. I will never ever understand why people love Cortland Sutton so much in fantasy football.
25:23It makes absolutely zero sense to me. He's quite literally not been a wide.
25:27He's never had a wide receiver one season. He said one wide receiver two season in PPR points per game, if I recall correctly.
25:35And his yards per route run has not been over the two mark and like seven years, like an insane amount of time.
25:42And so I don't really understand why adding Jalen Waddle to the mix is going to, to, to sustain Cortland Sutton's fantasy production.
25:49When there were times last year where in this role, cause I think Waddle is going to play the Z a lot in this role.
25:56We saw, we saw Troy Franklin play this and there were times last year where Franklin was outproducing Cortland Sutton.
26:03There was like a stretch of three or four games where he was a better fantasy asset than Cortland Sutton was.
26:09And so I'm, I'm all, I think Jalen Waddle is a smash at his ADP and I do not understand, you know,
26:16in a season long environment, why court, why you would be drafting Cortland Sutton as a wide receiver three.
26:22I just can't get behind it. Okay. Cameron Wolf has Teddero McMillan in front of the show playing more slot this season in Carolina.
26:29We talked to T-Mac about this at the Superbowl.
26:32Uh, I brought it up, uh, about him playing more in the slot and he said that he was, he would be
26:38excited to do that because he referenced, which was a great reference, the Atlanta game.
26:43Um, and, uh, that in that game last year, he, he played a little bit more in the slot and he was really productive out of the slot.
26:52The only problem with this is that Jalen Coker is good there too.
26:56And I worry about what that would do to his fantasy value.
26:59I'm not trying to like make this too big of a deal, but I do think that it would, it would ease
27:06some concerns for me with T-Mac because my fear with T-Mac is not that he's not going to get a decent amount of volume and be good.
27:14Cause I think he's a stud. Uh, my fear would be the conversion of some of the looks that he gets and
27:21he'll have an easier time converting if he does get more slot work.
27:25So I think it's a good thing for him for sure.
27:28Uh, that, that he would be playing more out of that area.
27:32It also just shows more offensive, you know, innovation and being able to get your good guy or get your best players in good spots and such.
27:40Uh, but it would be a little bit of a, of a damper for, uh, for Jalen Coker there, because I do
27:47think that he's a, he's a pretty good slot player himself.
27:51Okay. Last one on the list, because we've, we've seen his name floating around.
27:55I'm still kind of a shocked. He still hasn't signed.
27:58And that is Stefan digs. Where's he going? You think, uh, you think he's going to be a new, the new commander
28:05since Iuke has kind of played himself out of that role.
28:08I think that it makes most sense. The most sense for him to go to commanders.
28:13I think he meshes well with, with Terry McLaurin.
28:16I mean, McLaurin can obviously stretch the field really well.
28:19I think digs is kind of past that point in his career.
28:22Um, so I'm still, I'm still banking on that where I don't want him to go is Baltimore.
28:28I don't want to see that happen. Uh, just because there's not going to be as much volume and you know, I
28:35want Zay flowers to, to be able to maintain a really high target share, but, uh, Washington, Kansas city is one to, to keep an eye on.
28:43I wouldn't be shocked if he ended up going there might be a little bit of a redundant asset to what they already have to a degree.
28:51Um, but yeah, I think Washington is probably the favorite right now.
28:55All right, let's get into today's data where we have some market score comp projections for running back and receiver today's data.
29:02All right, JJ, tell us what we're looking at here.
29:05Yeah. So I did that episode yesterday, um, on the, the comp score stuff and, and the looking at, um, these players
29:12in market score and how they performed based on what their comps were saying.
29:16Right. Uh, and so I got a lot of feedback that it was really cool and fun.
29:21And hopefully you guys didn't take it like too seriously because it's not how market score is being used slash.
29:27It's not how my projections and how my, you know, it's not like the sole thing that I'm looking at when I'm
29:34trying to, to see if I like a player or not, but it is going to be part of my evaluation process.
29:41And so, uh, right here, I have the top 24 running backs and wide receivers, uh, listed for you by their market score comp projections.
29:48So just to run through this and what this means, B John Robinson, I look at his ADP, his market score in his career year.
29:56And I find the 10 most similar players since 2014 who fit those three criteria best for B John Robinson.
30:02And then from there I can multiply the similarity by that point per game projection, uh, or point per game output that
30:09that player, that comp had, and it can, it can produce this projection that's based, that's weighted by the similar scores.
30:15So if a player like had a guy who was 95 and similarity score, and then the next guy was 75, that 95 is getting more weight.
30:24That is basically what that means. So B John Robinson comes in as the RB one, you know, I called out some
30:30of the crazy ones on the show on Tuesday, which was the whole point of that show, but you can see where this is.
30:38I mentioned the drop-off from, from chase Brown to RJ Harvey, 14 to 15.
30:42Uh, and you can see that drop-off it's a, it's 1.3 points per game, which is pretty significant compared to what you were seeing before that.
30:50These are not, these are not actual projections. It's just a way of looking at market score and kind of a unique and different way.
30:58Um, and see where, you know, there's, there's a little bit more fear or some, some, uh, you know, downside risk for
31:04some players like running back, you have David Montgomery, who we talked about.
31:08You have the new England backfield at wide receiver, Devante Smith.
31:12It doesn't like very much the comps. Now the actual market score doesn't mind him, but the comps don't, uh, don't love them.
31:19Christian Watson, DJ Moore. Uh, but you can see where these guys rank.
31:23It's just an interesting way of, of looking at market score.
31:26Um, you know, in a, in a different way, um, that, that I don't think is really out there, uh, that much.
31:33I think like looking at comps and seeing what goes on in history is always just fun content.
31:39Yeah. The, uh, some of those guys, if, if you have, if you're high on them and you see them on this
31:45list, you're like, uh, and they're, why are they so far down?
31:49Right. Like AJ Brown, wide receiver. I love AJ around this year.
31:53Wide receiver 18. Yeah. I'm not ranking my wide receiver 18.
31:56It's just that I'm on raw at wide receiver 16.
31:59Yeah. There's yeah. I mean like, that's crazy, babe.
32:02That's not only, not only that it's crazy because like, don't think that market score doesn't like these players if their projection is low.
32:09Uh, it's just saying that historically there haven't been good top 10 comps.
32:13There might be good 11 to 15 comps. You know, I've, I've no clue.
32:17I learned the top 10, but it's just, it's just interesting thought, you know, like, like, like content to chew on and to think about.

33:35All right, the topic is training camp sleepers for the main event, JJ.
33:38And you're going to tell us what we're looking for.
33:42So here's what I'm doing. I'm thinking about players who we might see a lot of love for in the media and
33:48from beat reporters and stuff as training camp gets going.
33:51And I was thinking about like what criteria should I be looking at here?
33:56And the three criteria that I thought of was there's an opening to showcase their talent.
34:01So, you know, maybe the wide receiver two is injured or there's just no wide receiver two and there's going to be a battle for it.
34:09So there's some some opening in the depth chart for these players to do something.
34:13There's ambiguity surrounding the player himself and the talent of that player.
34:17And then typically you'll see more athletic players get a little bit more love in camp because they're just athletic and spectacles to watch.
34:24Right. So those are the three things. It's openness or an opening to showcase their talent.
34:29There's ambiguity surrounding that individual player's talent. And then there's athleticism.
34:33That's that's typically that that plus for for these players.
34:36So with that being said, I'm going to just go with the low hanging fruit one first.
34:41This one's fairly obvious, but Jonathan Brooks and I don't have like this is very much more vibes based than anything else.
34:48You know, this is more of a I mean, I don't know how it wouldn't be vibes based when when this is the topic.
34:55But I'll give you guys my take on these players as I talk about them.
35:00So like the notes in here are like super, super detailed.
35:03But Jonathan Brooks, if he steps into camp and he looks completely healthy, I don't see how his ADP doesn't continue to go up.
35:10I mean, it went up a little bit, but like you're still getting him on DraftKings, for instance, at like the the
35:17910 turn pretty frequently or into the 10th round sometimes.
35:20Where I think that you can get him a lot earlier than that.
35:24You know, I look at my my rankings. I have him at RB 32 right now, which is way higher than where
35:31you'll get him on ESPN and Yahoo, where over on Yahoo, he is RB 39 ESPN.
35:36He's also RB 39. So I think that like, again, the way that I like look at these players in rankings and
35:42in fantasy drafts is like if you're in round eight to 10, you should not be worried about the floor outcome.
35:49And the ceiling outcome is pretty crazy for Jonathan Brooks.
35:52When you consider last year, their backup Carolina's backup took over Chuba Hubbard as starter.
35:57Like he took that job. Like we've seen this happen before in the same offense with the same coach.
36:02So don't think that it can't happen again. Now, the difference this year is that Chuba Hubbard is going later than he was last year.
36:10Last year, he was a fade this year. It's not so obvious because he's not going as early.
36:16But I do think that Brooks and Chuba on those main sites should be closer together.
36:21It's not going to shock me in a best ball environment where you get a lot of slappies and you get a
36:27lot of people who are wanting to be the smartest person in the room.
36:32It wouldn't shock me if by mid-August, Jonathan Brooks is being drafted ahead of Chuba Hubbard.
36:36I don't think it would shock me. Just based on steam.
36:40Yeah, some highlights and we'll get there this summer.
36:43Another guy who's crazy, explosive, athletic, and who's been steamed up a little bit.
36:47We have some positive training reports. Is Rashid Shaheed.
36:50Yeah, I'm like four or five wide receiver spots ahead of the market with Shaheed this year.
36:55He joined Seattle last year. He only had a two-thirds route share, 67% route share.
36:59Once he joined Seattle, I think he'll end up being more of a full-time player.
37:04He's had a career 1.75 yards per hour run rate.
37:07Some seasons over the two mark. His rookie season was incredible in terms of the big playability.
37:12He was able to take away volume from Chris Alave last year, which is not nothing.
37:17Because obviously Alave, like right when Shaheed left is when Alave rocket shipped, you know, to fantasy football greatness in that offense.
37:24And so a lot of people will credit that to Tyler Shuck, but I think it's just as much Rashid Shaheed and
37:31the lack of competition for him to be able to get as big of a target share as he did down the stretch.
37:38I also have the take that I think Seattle is going to be forced to throw the ball a little bit more
37:45this year because the defense more than likely won't be as efficient as it was last year.
37:50Because it's going to be very difficult for it to be as efficient as it was last year.
37:55So that to me is going to combat the JSN regression a little bit.
38:00And it can help a guy like Rashid Shaheed.
38:02You know, if he carves out like a 18 to 20% target share in the offense, which is very doable.
38:09If he is running more routes and more close to that, like 85 to 90% route sharing range.
38:14All of a sudden you're talking, you know, a couple of big plays.
38:18He could be a low end wide receiver three in fantasy, like pretty easily.
38:22So I think he's a good pick right now.
38:25And I would not be shocked if we get more and more positive reports about Shaheed, his speed, how he opens up the offense.
38:32I was going to play more and that's going to just increase his ADP.
38:37Yeah. Next guy, you've come around on a little bit.
38:40Zachariah Branch with the Falcons. Yeah. I look, it was weird because I thought I was going to be so much lower
38:47than the market on Branch and rookie drafts. And then I was basically at the market with with Branch in terms of how I ranked him.
38:55Um, but look from a prospecting profile standpoint, the TLDR is that Zachariah Branch is really, uh, uh, athletic and twitchy, but he's gadgety.
39:02You know, a lot of his college production came behind the line of scrimmage.
39:06It was kind of manufactured. He doesn't have the full route tree, uh, you know, under his belt.
39:12And then he doesn't have that ability to run that just yet.
39:15But again, you think about the type of the archetype of player that he is speedy twitchy.
39:21That is the training camp. Uh, you know, like the training camp archetype that, you know, is going to end up just,
39:27just being boosted by beat reporters and such. So, and there's no locked in wide receiver to in Atlanta right now.
39:34So I, I think that he's going to rise in ADP over the next three weeks.
39:39Okay. Next we have cover boy T for Terrence Ferguson with the Rams.
39:43Yeah. I mean, look, I love Terrence Ferguson. Love them as a prospect last year.
39:47There's no wide receiver three on this team, on this, on this Rams team.
39:52There's no one that's like reliable as like a slot player.
39:55And last year he played by far the most in the slot of all of the Rams tight ends.
40:01He had a 50% slot rate. Uh, that was double every other Rams tight end.
40:05He's an athletic freak. He's a year two guy.
40:08They run a lot of heavy personnel. You know, you're going to see a lot of two, three tight end sets.
40:15I think that we're going to see articles and we've kind of seen them, but not a ton where we're going to,
40:21we're going to hear them say Terrence Ferguson is the de facto wide receiver three in the Rams offense.
40:27And that alone is going to boost him over, you know, the more stable guys like a Jawan Johnson or something like that.
40:34From an ADP standpoint, uh, into maybe that like tight end 16 to 18 range, as opposed to, you know, more in the, the, the, the low twenties.
40:43Yeah. This is why if like, cause some people were talking about the Rams getting one of these vets receivers as their wide receiver three.
40:51Yeah. Like that's another one. Like digs, digs could end up going there and it would, it would probably be not great for best ball bags.
40:59It would be fine. More neutral, but we're, we're hoping if you've been drafting Stefan digs, you're hoping that he, he goes
41:05somewhere like Washington and ends up as like a ninth round pick as opposed to a 12th round one.
41:11Yeah. Regardless of where he goes, he's going to be steamed up a little bit.
41:16Uh, this guy we talked about internally and the, uh, I was talking with Brandon Cadula about, I need to get more exposure to tank Dell.
41:24It feels like, because if that highlight flip of him last week or this week, he's cutting and everything else.
41:30I mean, he's, he's like a 17th, 18th round pick right now.
41:34Yeah. I think he's fine to throw a dart out.
41:37I like Jalen Noel too. I liked him as a prospect as well.
41:41Um, and I'm actually ahead of the market on, on Jaden Higgins a little bit, uh, just because I think he's, he's like a really solid player.
41:49Like he's a, he's a, like, I'm not taking Shahid over or I'm not taking him over Shahid, but I do think
41:56that, that Higgins is a good player himself. But the tank Dell stuff, if he looks like his old self, his ADP is going to go up.
42:04The one thing that I want to say about tank Dell is there is this narrative out there that CJ Stroud has
42:11only been bad because tank Dell hasn't been healthy.
42:13And if you look at his rookie year, yeah, sure.
42:16Like it helped because he had a good rookie season.
42:20If you look at his second year, CJ Stroud, he was just bad in general.
42:24Uh, he, he averaged 13.2 standard points per game with tank Dell in 2024.
42:28And then the three games without him is a couple of points below that.
42:33He was just bad in general. He's just been bad the last two years.
42:37CJ Stroud has nothing to do with tank Dell.
42:40It has to do with the fact that he's not been a good quarterback and that offensive line is sucked.
42:46And the, the coordinators haven't necessarily meshed well. So I, uh, I, I don't want to overstate what tank Dell does for
42:53CJ Stroud, but I do think that there's a very real chance.
42:56We see him get steamed up, uh, here in late, late July and into August.
43:01Some talented receivers, obviously they're in Houston. I'm just beginning to think maybe CJ Stroud has a comeback here this year.
43:07We'll see. I've drafted, I mean, I've drafted him in basketball.
43:11I have not drafted as much of him because he's in that same tier as Mr.
43:16Cam Ward. Uh, yeah, of course. Yeah. There you go.
43:19You gotta, you gotta, you gotta ignore one bad quarterback for another bad quarterback.
43:23Stop. I will not take any CJ Ward slander, especially after quarterback.
43:27Um, all right. Malachi fields, this giants offense, speaking of wide receiver rooms, we have no clue really what to expect.
43:33Yeah. And you have Malachi fields on the list.
43:36I don't think fields is that good of a prospect.
43:39Uh, I think his separation issues, he had, he had really mediocre age adjusted collegiate production.
43:44He played five years in college. Uh, and it just never really like his production profile is just never studly.
43:50And so I don't think he's going to be studly in the NFL.
43:54With that being said, there is an opening and he's not a speed freak, but he's a size freak.
44:00And so I think there's a very real chance we get some videos of him mossing defenders and all of a sudden
44:07we get the hype train going about how he's going to be using the red zone.
44:12And, uh, you know, he's a, he's a good, uh, asset from that perspective, which obviously will lead to being more productive in fantasy football.
44:19Um, and so I've actually been drafting, like I'll get naked Jackson dart and I'll just get Malachi fields in around 20.
44:26Um, you know, just to get some piece of that offense with him.
44:30Cause I think that they'll end up using him, um, you know, throughout the season, especially with, with the, the injury to neighbors.
44:37So watch out for fields, given that size and how they might deploy him in the red zone.
44:43All right. Um, Jonah Coleman. Yeah. Yeah. I'm on an Island with Jonah Coleman.
44:47Same. Yeah. It's, uh, no one likes Jonah Coleman, uh, because there's two guys ahead of him on the depth chart.
44:53And I don't mind RJ Harvey either. I've become a Harvey bro based on how his ADP has fallen.
44:59But Jonah Coleman is a backup to both JK Dobbins and RJ Harvey, right?
45:03He can play an early down role. He did that throughout college.
45:07He was a really good pass catcher. He's good in pass pro.
45:11Like there's, he's, he's a, he's a, we said this on, on, uh, becoming a basketball bro.
45:16He's a Jack of all trades, master of none.
45:19And that can be fine in an environment where you have a veteran running back who's, who's been hurt throughout his career
45:25and a very volatile second year running back in RJ Harvey.
45:29I think that they wanted a player who was a little bit more stable, which is what you get with Jonah Coleman.
45:36And so to me, the instant that you hear from beat reporters that he's going to be mixed in with the first
45:42team, he's one of those players that can rise in ADP because all of a sudden you're like, Oh, he might have some standalone value in best ball.
45:51If things just kind of go his way in a given game, cause he might see five to seven touches or something,
45:58but also there's multiple contingent outs for him. If one of those two guys gets hurt.
46:03Um, so I think Jonah Coleman was a good prospect and I think he's underrated in best ball right now.
46:09And, you know, and I wrote about this in the draft guide, like I would only draft them in season long if
46:16it's like a deep bench type type of situation, but I still think that he is draftable in that kind of environment as well.
46:23Yeah. For me right now, the guy, cause I've, I've even been getting some, some RJ Harvey.
46:28We've talked about Harvey a lot on the show.
46:31The one guy I haven't been getting in this offense is JK Dobbins.
46:35I haven't been drafting Dobbins. I don't, I think it's completely defensible.
46:39Like there, to me, there is no reason in season long.
46:42If you look at JK Dobbins, I'll do it right now because I have the Yahoo and the ESPN ADP Yahoo has
46:49them at RB 35 ESPN RB 33. And then if you look at Jordan Mason, Yahoo has an RB 44 ESPN RB 46.
46:56And to me, it's the exact same archetype archetype.
46:58Like it's the exact same type of player. You get an early down grinder and you could argue that Jordan Mason has
47:05easier competition in his backfield than JK Dobbins does.
47:08Dobbins was not used at all as a receiver last year.
47:11And so, you know, was he good on the ground?
47:14Yeah. But we know that he's coming off an injury.
47:17He's often injured himself. Uh, and, and he's not a pass catcher.
47:21And there's now a Jonah Coleman factor that maybe he sees no work, but there's a chance he sees some, I don't
47:28see what the upside is with JK Dobbins. I just don't get it.
47:32And people are drafting him as high as like RB 30.
47:35And I just, I can't get behind that because the pass catching profile is not there.
47:40And people are going to hate on that because they're like, Oh, you just care about pass catching stuff.
47:46It's like, no, you can arbitrage this kind of player.
47:49That's my point. You can get a Jordan Mason 50 picks later on a platform like ESPN.
47:54There's no reason to reach for a guy like Dobbins.

49:02Okay, this next guy's been steamed up already in the best ball circles, but redraft might be lagging just a little bit.
49:09It's A.D. Mitchell, wide receiver for the Jets. Yeah.
49:12I mean, I think we're going to get reports that he's out there in two wide receiver sets, that he's their number two wide receiver.
49:20Omar Cooper's more of a slot guy for them.
49:22And we know the athleticism's there. I mean, he's actually not been that bad on a per-route run basis throughout his career even.
49:29And so I think that he's not a terrible dart.
49:33If you want to look his way in a deeper format, I definitely drafted him in best ball plenty.
49:38But I think there's a real chance that we see him sort of get closer to where Omar Cooper is going and
49:45maybe even flip by the time training camp is done.
49:48Okay, next on the list, we have Elijah Surratt, the wide receiver for the Ravens.
49:53Yes. This one is very simply Elijah Surratt really profiled as a slot guy, a big slot.
49:58You know, I remember having a text conversation with Harmon back in February when I was doing some of my prospect breakdowns.
50:05And I told him that Elijah Surratt was getting like Michael Thomas and Pat Bryant type comps.
50:10And then Harmon mentioned to me that when he watched him, he couldn't get off the vibe and the idea that he was more of a big slot.
50:19Now, Harmon said that before about players and he's been right.
50:22Like Keon Coleman, he called a big slot. And we see that lack of separation on the outside from Keon Coleman.
50:28And I think Harmon nailed that, right? And I think that we could see a very similar situation here, except hopefully you
50:35have a smarter staff in front office saying, yeah, we're going to deploy him that way because we lost Isaiah likely and
50:42we need more of a presence in the middle of the field alongside Mark Andrews.
50:46And if that happens, I think people are going to get more excited about Surratt because when you get a late round
50:53pick and you can attach him to a certain role in an offense, that role might be, you know, not like 13,
51:0014 PPR points per game, but a role that could see some spiked weeks is going to excite people.
51:06And I think that we could see that with a player like Surratt.
51:10Sure-handed, big wide receiver for sure. Um, speaking of sure-handed, big burly, just amazing tight end Gunner Helm next on this list.
51:17Yeah. You know, the athleticism, I'm just kidding. Um, so yeah, I mean, like Gunner Helm had horrible athleticism scores cause he
51:23got hurt, you know, in the, in his drills, um, and still ran, still ran with a busted ankle.
51:29Look at the picture of him for nine. Look at the picture with him and that ankle and think, could a regular human do this?
51:37Yeah. Okay. I mean, I don't even care about that stuff to be, to be fair.
51:42Uh, what I do care about is with late round tight ends, you often want an open pass catching room where we
51:48don't know exactly, you know, more ambiguous, right? We don't know exactly how targets are going to get distributed.
51:54I think we kind of have that in Tennessee right now.
51:58There's no tight end that he's really competing with.
52:00They did get Daniel Bellinger, uh, you know, a Brian Dable fave.
52:04Um, but he's not that much of a threat from like a pure pass catching standpoint.
52:09So I think if there's some chatter about him being a top target on the team, which I think is very possible,
52:16uh, Gunner Helm could, could rise a little bit, uh, in ADP.
52:19I'm definitely ahead of the market right now with, with Helm.
52:23I don't even think he's ranked on some of the big platforms.
52:26Yeah. All right. Uh, last on this list, we have Daman Claiborne.
52:30And then I want to ask you about a guy who I think could be on this list.
52:36Yeah. There's a lot that I could have thrown out there.
52:39So if I miss somebody, um, you know, it's definitely, uh, possible that I just, you know, like, I like that person as a candidate as well.
52:47But yeah, I mean, look, I I've, I've been on oddly team Jordan Mason this summer now for the last few weeks, like month or so.
52:55And, uh, I, it's a weird place for me to be because I've not been on team Jordan Mason in the past.
53:02And, uh, I, but I, I still recognize that Mason is not necessarily like a complete running back.
53:08He certainly doesn't have the pass catching chops. Right.
53:10Uh, and then Aaron Jones is, is older. And, uh, again, a guy near and dear to my heart for a lot
53:17of reasons, but he's older and, uh, definitely looks like he's, he's lost a little bit of a step, you know, uh,
53:2432 beat writers, friend of the show, uh, on Twitter.
53:27Uh, he, uh, they, they had posted a quote that says Daman Claiborne, uh, about Daman Claiborne says executives, coaches, and teammates
53:34quietly raved about his movement skills this spring. This is where it was kind of funny though.
53:39It says, if he can master the system, pass protection rules and ball security, buckle your seatbelt.
53:44So it's like, if he can, if he can play the running back position, watch out guys.
53:49But no, like the reason that you get excited about Daman Claiborne from an ADP rising perspective is because it's an ambiguous backfield with a very clear opening.
53:58And Daman Claiborne is at the very least, very athletic.
54:01He ran a four, three, seven 40. He had a pretty good pass catching profile.
54:06I think he's more of a threat to Aaron Jones and the role that Jones plays in that offense.
54:11Uh, but even still, you know, if we could get a, you know, five to 6% target share and, you know, like
54:18maybe we get like eight touches a game towards the middle of the season.
54:22And that, that slowly climbs the double digits towards the end of the season.
54:27I think that's possible for him. I don't think that he is a true bell cow back though.
54:32He's a very small running back. Like he's sub one 90.
54:36Uh, I don't think that we're going to see that kind of role with him, but when he was drafted, I think
54:42I mentioned like he, he pairs really well with Jordan Mason, like realistically, similar to how I think Aaron Jones in a
54:49hypothetical world pairs well with Jordan Mason. So we'll see what happens, but he's definitely a player that is going to get steamed.
54:56I think of all these guys in this list, he's probably top three for me that will get a lot of love, uh, as training camp goes on.
55:05Did you see, uh, our buddy Pat Thorman? He tweeted, uh, yesterday, the athletic might've hung the most, but she's got a
55:12great personality blurb ever on Aaron Jones. And the blurb was if you pulled NFL players, Jones may rank in the top
55:18five of the nicest and most respected. Yeah. Right.
55:21I mean, it's not, it's a, I I've said this before and like, you know, I like throwing these kinds of like
55:28stories out there, but like when I first started prospecting was the year, I think it's 2017.
55:33It was, it was his class. Uh, that's when I first started like vaguely prospecting and the stuff that I was working on loved Aaron Jones.
55:41So I followed him really early when he had like 5,000 followers on Twitter and he followed me back.
55:47And so like every, I know I've told this story before, but every time there's like a chart or something that I
55:54post where it's negative about Aaron Jones and someone like tags him or something like that.
55:59Uh, I can always be like, you know, I'm an OG and he's like, yeah, you're an OG.
56:04We're good. Um, all right. Some guys that might not be on this list.
56:08I am interested in the, um, the two rookie tight ends with Sadiq.
56:12And yeah, Stowers both being potential guys that, I mean, Stowers has just fallen off the board now.
56:18Yeah. I mean, there was reports about him just like having like a red shirt season essentially.
56:23Right. And we don't know that's for sure at all.
56:26I mean, that's, that is the thing with Stowers.
56:29It's really interesting to me is that like that, again, this goes back to when we were doing the prospecting work and
56:36it was always lost, but Stowers is like, like a lot older than Kenyon Sadiq.
56:40And so you, you don't want that to happen for Eli Stowers.
56:44You don't want this rookie season to be one where he doesn't get any production because that's typically a pretty rough sign
56:51for a guy who's a little bit older. They already knew he couldn't block, but you don't have, you don't have to
56:57block if you're a pass catching tight end. Right.
57:00And if they're, you know, this new system with hurts, I'm anxious to see where Stowers is.
57:05And same with Sadiq because people are out on Sadiq and he's been playing.
57:10I mean, he's been hurt. And so when he had the like hernia and so we'll see, like I, I, I've been drafting Sadiq.
57:17I think that, that he's actually not a bad pick.
57:20It's just that some of these platforms like an ESPN has them at a reasonable price.
57:25So I, I, you know, I haven't called him out as like a late round dart throw.
57:30All right. Let's wrap up this show. All right.
57:33Just as a reminder, we have the late round.com, the new and improved website where you can sign up for newsletter.
57:39Uh, our guy, Brandon Godula has a new one coming out.
57:43I think it's going to be coming out tomorrow morning.
57:46Uh, last week was great on the offensive coordinator stuff.
57:49He's going to continue that tomorrow. So if you're in, if you're into just like getting back into the groove of things,
57:56um, sign up for the newsletter on late round, it's free.
57:59And then also we have the draft guide available to purchase and the new all access plan.
58:04And on that all access plan for 365 days, you get all the membership perks, like being in a discord rankings year round.
58:11That's where I think you also get access to both of our guides for as long as you are subscribed, JJ.
58:18Yes. Yes. And someone's asking a question about the draft guide saying, will you be removing any of your targets from your draft guide?
58:25If ADP shifts enough, the answer is absolutely. Yes.
58:28I update blurs. I'll, I'll remove players. I'll, I'll add updates to, to the blurbs to say, this is how I'm feeling about this guy.
58:36Now there's just right now, not enough movement going on in ADP, uh, for me to really like, like if there's any
58:42changes to players and targets, uh, players to target and avoid, it's based on my own research as opposed to the market
58:49shifting because the market's just not moving that much right now.
58:53We're right now in like the speculation phase, you know?
58:56And two weeks is going to be different. Right.
58:58There's gonna be a lot more movement. Yeah. Completely different.
59:01Um, all right. Also, again, we are doing some live drafts on this channel.
59:06So make sure you have notifications turned on, like subscribe, all that sort of thing.
59:10We want to give a shout out to, uh, to draft Kings promo code late round.
59:15They have the draft one, get one. They, uh, are good sponsors of this show and, uh, we appreciate them.
59:21Um, so get, uh, get in there and if you are a member, join the best ball chat and the discord because,
59:28um, we're gonna be doing some stuff, more stuff in there, JJ.
59:32Uh, we've got fancy football expo this weekend. You and I, I'm actually going to be doing some drafts this year.
59:38Last year, I just watched you. I sat in my chair and I watched you doing your drafts this year.
59:44I'll be doing my own drafts. You're in the, you're in the Jim Brown division.
59:49Yeah. No, uh, the Blanda division. The Blanda division.
59:52I can't remember if I'm Brown or Blanda, but I'm in the, so if you guys are at the expo, if you
59:58go to the hall of fame, uh, on Saturday, um, there will be various rooms where one room in the, in the
60:05room that I'll be in where we're drafting, we'll have like serious XM set up and stuff like that.
60:11And then there's a room next to it, which is where kitchen will be drafting where you'll get to see not only
60:18the drafts go down, but there's auctioneers for the auction draft.
60:21So we do a, a snake draft, have lunch and then do an auction draft.
60:26So we're literally drafting for like nine straight hours.
60:29Um, but it's funny because Bob lung who runs the expo, he, uh, randomly assigned, uh, uh, picks and draft slots for us.
60:36And it just so happens that in the snake draft in our divisions, uh, kitchen and I both drew the one-on-one.
60:42So I haven't gotten the one-on-one in best ball, but I got it in this, which I'll take, I'll take that.
60:49Yeah. Pick luck, especially in 14 team, uh, leagues is, uh, is good.
60:52I also want to shout out, um, feature who says definitely going to be there next year.
60:58He also sent me a master's hat. So shout out to, uh, to feature if I wore it on last, last week's
61:04stream, uh, when I was drafting on the channel, we also got, we also got Jay bolt who will be there this weekend.
61:12Uh, yes, no, we have, we have a few members that are going to be there this weekend.
61:17I, yeah, it's going to be great. It's a, it's a great time.
61:21It's a great time. It's going to be a fun time.
61:24Uh, this was also a fun time JJ and we appreciate everyone for tuning in and, uh, you know, getting down and nerdy with us on this show.
61:33And we'll see you next time here on the late round fantasy football show.
